The Best Roadside Dishes to Fuel a Trip Through Antioquia, Colombia | Bon Appétit

"This open-air family-style chain on the outskirts of Medellín serves traditional Paisa comfort food at large wooden picnic tables surrounded by hanging flower baskets. The bandeja paisa is a show-stopping, calorie-rich platter—chorizo, steamed rice, blood sausage, ground beef, fried pork rind (chicharrón), sweet plantains, an arepa, avocado and an egg—with each location offering its own variation. It’s also a go-to for sancocho, the slow-simmered meat-and-starch stew whose broth is often called 'liquid gold'; an ideal version includes potato, corn, yuca, plantain, beef and chicken and is finished with rice, sliced banana, avocado and ají." - ByIsa Zapata

It was a very nice place with very good food. It's fairly casual. But it's clean and organized. I liked it. It's a good place to catch a good meal when you're shopping. But I would not take someone there on a date. It's more of a family place. #DRDERISE

I went to this restaurant because I saw it full of people eating. They have a large menu. The price is ok. Not expensive. I thing that I didn't like, was strange objects in the food. I ordered Bandeja Paisa. I found things that looked like hair. I found several in my food. I ordered half Bandeja Paisa and it was more than enough food. The restaurant is on the 3rd floor.

My first time to try the famous bandeja paisa, and I wasn't disappointed. Big serving and good, fast service. It was almost full around lunchtime when I went which is always a good sign. For those new to this kind of food, it's like an English breakfast but with Colombian ingredients. Not very healthy but definitely delicious and filling.

Excellent bandeja paisa. Great service. Inside a cute shopping mall. Kind of pricey.
