Where to Eat Mexican Along Highway 99 in the Central Valley, Mapped - Eater

"You can eat here for a year and not get tired of all the offerings, but a good start are all the gorditas trucks. Get your agua fresca at other stalls, though." - Gustavo Arellano

Looks good. Organized. Clean. Good food. It had been a while since I went to a flea market. I know everything qent up in price and its quite true for this place. All fruit/veggie vendors were $5/bag. I paid $5 for 1 pineapple. $5 for a cantaloupe. $6 for 1lb of guavas. $8 for 1lb dry chili mango. $22 for 2 gorditas and one canned Squirt. A $5 chili plant. A 3 minute pony ride $10. Before i knew it $100+ were gone!! Not to mention all the gas that it took me to get there! It was empty, a kind lady told me that since the ICE raids, people stopped coming. Sucks!! But I would go again, early am cus it gets super hot!!

You are going to love this place. Bring your family, bring your kids, bring your friends and get read to enjoy yourself. The weather is hot and there is plenty of cold drinks to help you stay cool. If you get hungry there is a large selection of food to choose from.

Karan Xiong

Google
The place was really dead. We got here at noon, and there's vendors who are barely pulling in or setting up their booths. There's vendors that already covering their stuff or packing up their stuff.

Google
Food, clothes, toiletries, arts and crafts, plants, pony rides, tools, fresh produce, pets and so much more one can buy at this flea market. Whatever you need they will have for you! Love going Sunday mornings and looking at each aisle and I totally recommend bringing $5 for parking if not park far away on the dirt road. Bring lots of cash in general as most vendors don’t take card.

Karina Gordillo

Google
Love coming for affordable prices, specially the fruit stands and food. All you need is 5 dollars for parking and they also offer free parking in the way back on the dirty. I normally take 50 dollars and that is enough for some snacks and to have a nice walk with my husband, kids and my dog gets her little exercise as well.

I’ve been to many flea market and this one is one of my favorite. Well organized and fruits, veggies and foods are great also. Give them a try.

Google
It sure has changed a lot since I was here 40 years ago. Lots of nice stuff. Produce looks amazing and we are still in the winter months. I can't wait to come in the summer!

Google
Nice place good food and experience and the churros are fire

Yelp
Very fun, if you wanted to buy something someone would help you right away, there was a lot of bracelets and necklaces also a lot of toys like plushie backpacks and it's overall a fun place to visit.

Yelp
I was really looking forward to spending our Sunday morning at the flea market. I even did my due diligence and made sure that they allowed service animals on their premises. Which I was told that they did, and upon arrival I was visibly able to confirm this. I have psychiatric service dog. Also I was happy to see she would be allowed. Especially since we drove a long way from our home to the flea market. But immediately upon entry everything started to go downhill. The parking attendant immediately upon taking our 5 dollars she looked at my dog and said there's no dogs allowed. You'll have to leave, at which point I stated oh no she's a service dog, and she stated no she's not. No dogs allowed. I said no she's a psychiatric service dog, and she asked for her service dog documentation, at this point I knew this wasn't going to go well. So I told her ma'am there isn't a service dog registration or documentation. At which point she just mumbled and we took it as her being ok with that and we continued to park. But within a couple of minutes of parking the first staff member came over and asked for our dogs identification, when I explained that the ADA doesn't have a registration for service animals he admitted that he had no idea what the laws and regulations were for service animals he was just doing as he was told. After about five minutes of talking to him, about four, what seemed armed security officers, came over and demanded that if my dog was a service dog I provide them her service dog identification paperwork. I explained to them once again that there isn't a registry for that. And that per ADA guidelines they can't request documentation only what my dogs purpose is, which is a psychiatric dog. I explained that companies that issue "identification " are scams and not regulated by the ADA. One of the guards mentioned that they now require the identification because in the past people have pretended that they have service dogs and those have bitten other customers. I stated that although that's horrible and I'm sorry those experiences happened, that they needed to understand that there is no regulated ADA service dog registration. At that point they began making up lies that we had been hostile and that we aggravated the flea market staff so that now we needed to leave and we're no longer welcome at that property. And that if we stayed we would be trespassing. When that happened more of the third party security guards came and surrounded my family. I began to panic because we were being treated like straight criminals for absolutely no reason. The guard began yelling and telling us we needed to leave NOW. I got my son and family in Our vehicle and it was to the point that we were escorted out of the parking lot and onto the road by the third party security. I have never been treated so horribly by any business. Especially when it comes to my service dog. They have multiple signs stating they allow service dogs but that is the farthest from the truth. All of this ended with me having a huge panic attack because of how we were treated by the security guards and how they lied about us being hostile towards the staff.

Yelp
We walked around most of the flea market easily, and visited several "shops" (under pop-up canopy/easy ups). It is set up nicely, there are different items to buy, enough room to walk, and not crowded. They have several food stands with different things to eat, some items include, but are not limited to: churros, fruits & vegetables, avocado, tacos, Chinese food, and elote (commonly called Mexican Street Corn, which is grilled corn on the cob, smothered in a creamy mayo sauce, and topped with chili powder, cotija cheese, or queso fresco, and lime). One shop was giving away samples of food, but none of my friends or I wanted to try at that time. My friend said she always gets the Chinese food at this flea market, she really loves it! She likes to have the kimchi (A Korean dish of spicy pickled cabbage). I bought one churro, it was good, but pricey, if you asked me. It was $3.00 and you only get one regular sized churro. I will let you decide if that is worth it or not... I didn't find anything that "sparks joy" or in other words, that I had to have. So the churro is the only thing I bought that day. The guy who was selling the Mario Bros. items, was very sweet, and told me that he will receive a shipment of larger figurines. The ones he had I thought are adorable! He said the larger Mario figurines that are coming are a lot bigger in size. I also liked the giant Mario, I think he was a piggy bank. One shop had several cute piggy banks (A hamburger, French fries, different colors of pigs, Mickey Mouse, etc.). Some shops had little Disney items which I thought were cute. They had oversized handmade hair bows, a shop that sells candy of all sorts (mostly Mexican candy, and some American candy too). I don't wear much jewelry, but my friends bought some that I admired. That shop had beautiful, hamdmade, beaded bracelets, necklaces, and earrings. My favorite were the little women ones; they were clearly a little woman with a colorful dress on. They were made out of small beads and were dainty. If I were buy anything it would have been the little women earrings (that had matching items). So cute! I was able to practice my limited Spanish! :) Some shop owners/workers told me they had limited English, so I was excited to practice. It is free to get in, except parking costs money on certain days (is my understanding). We went on a Friday. It happened to be Cinco de Mayo. There were not many patrons that day, not sure why. My friends took the public bus and it was slightly hard to describe where to find each other because there are many entrances. They should label them North or South, East or West entrance respectively. We found everyone, but it would have been easier if the flea market identified the entrances, we all agreed. Overall it was a nice time at the flea market. I would probably go with a friend again. However, as I stated previously, I didn't really find anything I personally had to have. Therefore, I probably would not go back on my own.

Yelp
This is a flea market! Wow... I was impressed with the size and all of the things being sold. The sheer volume was impressive. It makes the farmer's market here in Richmond look rather quaint. Even the market on Ashby, which is a shell of it's former self is looking rather bad. But when it was bumping, I thought that it was wonderful. But again, this market has so much more to choose from. I did get something from here which was good, but they had leather goods, knives, clothing, tools, toys, games, food, rugs, fresh juices, and more. I can't list it all here, but I have the pictures. And I will be adding more... I'd come here again, in a hearbeat.

Yelp
It's huge, with a variety of food trucks (including one serving Chinese food). There's a vast selection of produce, hats, leather shoes, churros, and small tools. If you're looking for something that isn't off Alibaba, you'll want to learn your favorite stalls -- there's one with South American pottery that I'm eyeing for future purchases, and a couple with pistachios and candy. Parking is $5 (on a real paved lot) and subsequent admission is free. This is not a place to find a huge variety of used items, the way the Turlock flea was when I was a kid, but it's a pleasant walk and you can stave off exhaustion with fresh hot churros.

Yelp
Coming here to just get ou of the house for a little while and to see what flea markets are about nowadays. It was really hot this day, many of the spots to put your booth were empty and spaced out. There was however a live band and people dancing so that was nice. No cover charge to get in and there is street and parking lot spaces to park. Many of the booths here were selling previously owned items, not so much new. But still somewhere to get some steps in and to catch a little something to eat and a refreshing drink

Yelp
Awesome Flea Market! Come early or there will be a wait to get into the parking lot. Entrance to park is $5, although some cars were parking outside the fence in the dirt for free. Huge flea market with lots of vendors from food, to animals to everything you can imagine. Restrooms were clean and lots of food trucks to eat from.

Johana B.

Yelp
Just came right now to see if we can get some pizzabirrias and saw the truck wasn't there so we immediately turned around and went back to ask if we can get our money back because we didn't even park or want to walk around the market. The Owner who was standing at the entrance said she couldn't do anything about it or return my money even though I had JUST paid not even 2 minutes ago for parking I didn't need or use. Very rude to me and my husband. Do better please. would still appreciate my refund thank you!

Yelp
My wife found a small female black chihuahua on 4/15/23 running in the parking lots she had no collar we are currently carrying for her as we feel bad leaving her at a shelter she seems to have separation issues I would really like to find her owner as we cannot keep her for to long I took her to the vet but they said she is not chipped if she is urs please con me at 669-388-27zero,zero

Yelp
Great if youre looking for old junk. Not too much newer items here. A must for pickers

Yelp
Nice flea market. It almost reminds me of the Oakland coliseum flea market from back in the good ole days.

Perez Y.

Yelp
The girls that take the money for parking power trip to much. Like calm down top flight security. Other then that I use to like going there after this I'm not going for a while.

Yelp
This place is the lowest of low. From charging vendors to park, to raising rent unexpectedly, the Modesto Flea Market has gone down the drain. Back in the day customers could enjoy free parking and the affordability of what the flea market has to offer. But now With strict rules, rent raises, and new younger management there's been no room for the average vendor to compete or even make a living. This Flea Markets Management has not only forced my family to lose but cost many people their livelihood. Vendors are now paying $15 each day to park, regardless if handicap or not. And on top of that are being demanded to show up the entire weekend. This means even though you pay monthly if you don't come on Saturday your spot could be sold because you didn't come the entire weekend. Before you come here and overpay for the same food you can get anywhere on crows landing, I'd weigh out your options. I will simply end this by saying there's plenty of hard working people out there who deserve your money before this place does! Please think twice about supporting them!!!

Yelp
I was in town and decided to checkout "El Rematito". It did not disappoint, it's like a little Mexico with authentic Mexican food and drinks. $5 per vehicle at entrance. There are plenty of vendors for anything you may need. Food was delicious, micheladas are a bit overpriced.Cash only. Also by reading the other reviews, don't come here if you're worried about COVID-19.

Art R.

Yelp
Obviously nothing is priced, but when you find an item of interest and you ask the price and it's $2 the tell you and when you go to pay then it changes to $5. This is dishonest business. I get it it's the flea market, but don't be shady. Keep your business honest. Or just sell dope. Spaces 41. 40, 39.

Yelp
BEWARE!!!!!!! So today went to flea market with my mom and she brought some pants to be redone shorter. O Two she left with this guy named Domingo, 1918, row 11 in the corner shack. He said one hour for one pair of pants. Unfortunately my mom left him with a set of high end pants and the other from ross. The one from ross was supposed to be cut. The other was just reference. We came back and he had them ready. The pants that were just for reference were inside out. Which was odd. And the. We noticed straight away that it had been tampered with. These are name brand Brooks brothers. Which are high quality. We argued that those were not hers and he's tampered with. He laughs and that no one else has come other than us. That it is our pants. We kept arguing and he said that you can call whoever you want even the cops and they won't do anything. (Now thinking about it seems he's familiar about scamming people and no one will be able to do anything.) We went to the front office they called security but they didn't reassure us about them doing anything. We talked to security and they pretty much said the same thing that they couldn't do anything. Something needs to be done about this. I might have to go to the business bureau to investigate. We came home and what he did was he stole the silk from the name brand pants. Not the wool part but the silk part under the pants.(dress pants) I advice to be careful. I would never return to that man. And I don't recommend to give him any business.

Yelp
Covid-19 Superspreader, no social distancing and half the people wearing not wearing masks, there us no one enforcing it. Not even the vendors are wearing masks. We were there for maybe 15 min and had to get out. Can't believe how people is walking around like if it the summer of 2019! No wonder why this area is the most affected by Covid-19 with 0% ICU bed capacity for over a month. SMH

Yelp
Fresh fruits and an assortment of chiles, candies, and delicious foods!! I always look forward to going there when I can!! Always find surprises like cilantro plants and other goodies to bring home!

Yelp
It is what it is. For the area it's a decent size flea market. The new paved parking lot is totally worth paying $5 . Always good roasted corn, food and drinks. Love walking and seeing stuff. Love trying stuff to entice my boring white taste buds. THE BREAKDOWN: If you've never been to a flea market basically bring cash, $5 and $1 are best. Know that it's a good deal no matter what but not speaking Spanish means about on average a $1-$2 markup, suck it up or learn Spanish. Don't be shy and try everything. Fruit, candy, bacon wrapped dogs, churros, icy cold fruit drinks. Be kind, try to smile and remember these vendors are people at work for themselves and their family not a big soulless corporate store. Tip, say thank you, be decent y'all.

Yelp
Okay place to visit, kinda smells like sewage water. Recommend going reallllly early in the morning to not walk in the heat. Enjoyed the snacks around and fresh fruits.

Yelp
absolutely do not come here. staff and security are a bust and cursed out my family in front of my 10 year old brother. they are extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. staff lady was starting an altercation with my family and was extremely unprofessional calling us curse words in spanish and english. very rude overall please do not come here.

Ana T.

Yelp

Yelp
Out of all the flea markets I've been to, this is one is the largest and most fun! They have a live band, a carousel for the kids, pony rides, good trucks and lots of things to check out, eat or buy! I come for the produce, the Mexican fruits con chile, all the stuff my friend gets me to try. I recently tried the chopped fruits and vegetables you add Tajin (so addicting!), chamoy and other flavors and mix it in a bag! I enjoyed it :-) From churros to nachos, mangonada to tacos, you can bet your diet it's def a "cheat day" when you come! Aside from the food, it's nice to walk around and buy produce for a good price and also to support the vendors who come out each day selling what their proud to sell. The kids are happy to see the toys they can buy and it's just a nice time to break away from your regular mall trip!

Karina V.

Yelp
I went to the flea market yesterday. I used the ATM machine and it didn't dispense the correct amount.. the machine only dispense 100$ and I was missing 60$ I called my bank to dispute this transaction. And they told me I need to contact the the place we're I used it. I called No answer. Crows Landing Flea Market can u guys fix ur ATMs and can someone reach out to me. Back thanks

Yelp
There is a huge parking lot but it is made out of dirt. This flea market is a pretty decent size. There was plenty of bathrooms that's always a plus. They had a lot of aguas frescas. A ton of places were you can buy food. Fresh churros! A lot of Mexican products and a lot of piñatas. My favorite part was they had a lot of baby animals that were so cute. There was a lot of organic foods. There really is no bad flea market because it's really what the vendors have to sell. This place was very clean will definitely return.
google avatar

Nataly G.

Yelp
Came some ways to check out this flea market. First off they have free parking and admission which is awesome! You do have to park in a dirt field but hey, it's better than nothing! Once walking in, it's like your typical flea market except for food instead of stands hosted by the flea market it's a bunch of food trucks. My family and I tried the first one closest to the entrance (La Gordita Felíz) they had AMAZING tacos! With tortillas hechas a mano! They're full sized tortillas with plenty of meat! Not to mention they also have a plethora of meat choices( give the chorizo a try! It's SUPER flavorful! ) There's also some super yummy churros and cotton candy! Overall a great place for the food but the lack of the 5th star would be for purchasing things wise. There's not much to buy and when I tried to buy some of my favorite chocolate from Mexico the dudes price was waaay overpriced. All in all come for the food, maybe even the produce! But not so much to shop around.
google avatar

Angela P.

Yelp
I usually like to examine my food before buying it, but have gotten a lot of the people upset with me while doing so. So I thought this time "hey I'm just going to trust you and buy this bag of pistachios!" Big mistake.. got home full of bugs, and pistachios nests for them I went back to the same vender and noticed ALL of his bags of nuts, pistachios, seeds where infested with bugs! People not noticing bought them, I tried telling him but he just got very upset and yelled at me to leave. Disgusting place to buy food. My camera couldn't capture all the bugs but trust me there's a lot! They're in the pistachios

J C.

Yelp
Why do they have to announce when the vendors rent is due? There are better ways and technology to do this. It is annoying and unprofessional, businesses should already know when their rent due if not tell them there is a late fee if not due by a certain date. There is no need to announce and let everyone know of your business.

Tina R.

Yelp
I love the variety of vendors!! Reminds me of a smaller version of San Jose fea market
google avatar

Carlos I.

Yelp
My family and I were visiting this place called la Pulga or flea market. We got hungry and we stop at this food truck call Tacos Zapotlanejo. They have a great service and prices. And their food is excellent (tacos, quesadillas, mulitas, menudo, birria and more). When you come to the Pulga or the flea market, don't forget to stop by this food truck and get your grub on, highly recommend.

Rosa R.

Yelp
I am very unhappy about my experience today, we get there at 9:00am on a cold day. I thought that because it was cool I will see people wearing mask, but to my surprise half of the vendors don't wear masks and most of the people walking there don't wear a mask. I was very scared not happy at all about the situation, after one hour we left not coming back.

Yelp
We like coming here to get fresh fruit, local honey, huaraches, plants, maybe a chicken or a goat? You have to try the fresh coconuts masterfully opened to quench your thirst in a hot modesto day. Shaved ice, churros, taco trucks galore, hats, haircuts, this place has it all, if you like flea markets you will like this one.
google avatar

Angel C.

Yelp
As flea markets go there is one is pretty nice for its ample parking, many entrances and orderly exits. It seems people are courteous of the fact thsy 100,000 people are both entering and exiting at the exact same time! It doesn't take long to get in and once you do parking is relatively close even distance parking. Inside you have the usual assortment of all manner of knick knacks answer whatchamacallits, clothes/toys/bargain divers galore. I like taking my nephews for the walking and ice cream while we browse the used xbox games. It's great for them to get out of the house and see other people exist outside of you tube. Prices here are good and there are some solid vendors with good products just have to find them case they do move around sometimes. Lots of food that is good if you have strong stomach, sweets galore and what not.
google avatar

Michelle V.

Yelp
This is the worst flea market we've been to and we've been to a lot. First of all it's like your waiting to go into an amusement park. We had to park across street at police station and walk over since the lines were so ridiculous to even try to get a parking spot. Inside it's dirty and grimy. Yellow jackets and bugs all over fruit and food. So many damn people can't even walk without bumping into someone. Nothing cool here AT ALL! All same consumer bs. I can't even imagine how this place is dead of the summer heat. Never again will I come back here
google avatar

Yelp
About four years ago my parents moved to Modesto and there is absolutely nothing to do here.. So someone told us about the flea market and oh my! This became out weekend ritual! They are open from Friday to Sunday. Sat and Sun they are crazy busy, there were times when we had to look for parking for about 15+mins. Parking is free, entrance is free! Number one reason why I love this place?! The fruit and veggies. OMG! always so cheap way cheaper than any grocery store and so fresh. I just went this past weekend and I got a bag of habanero chiles for $1, bag of thai chiles for $1, 5 cucumbers for $1, 20lbs of oranges for $5 and 3 orange bell peppers for $1! Can you say better deals than the Dollar Store!? Second reason why I love this place? The stuffed Churros! YES! so good! $1.50 for a stuffed Churro! You must try, you wont regret it. Let me just warn you once you try them you cant get enough!

Veronica L.

Yelp
This fleamarket is a joke they have signs say you cannot come in without a mask!! However, there's nobody controlling who comes in with or without mask. You really need to get ur shit together and follow protocol. Poor management here. Coronavirus19 is spreading like fleas in this place!!!
google avatar

Olivia G.

Yelp
You know, I was a bit skeptical because the parking lot isn't all that fabulous. However there is a large variety and selection in terms of where to eat and produce to buy. I loved the churros and the little stands. My mom loved the roasted corn on a stick and we all got a little bit of everything to try. Would recommend coming here on an empty stomach and trying a little bit of everything. The taco truck that I tried which was delectable was called "La Gordita Feliz" and it did indeed make me a happy gal. Tortillas were made right there and I had full-sized tacos which filled me up. Meat selection was also delicious!
google avatar

Julie H.

Yelp
This flea market it right down the street from my work. It's a treat to walk down there for lunch to get my 2 asada tacos from the little taco truck next to the pony rides. I should look at the name of the truck next time I go down there! The food is always good and it's $4 for 2 tacos and a soda. You can't beat that! After lunch I like to walk through the fresh food section and then I always get a churro for the walk back to work ($1). It's like a special treat on a Friday afternoon :)
google avatar

Yelp
This is one of the larger flea markets in the area. On one of the more questionable sides of town it's not a flea market to go to alone or leave your car unlocked. There is plenty of stuff to find. Everything from clothes to electronics, to tools, and even live animals. This is definitely a place to be a skeptical shopper. There are plenty of knock off merchandise of name brand products. There's also occasionally items acquired by questionable means. It doesn't hurt to give an item of interest a second closer look. Plenty of food vendors. A lot of people let their children run amuck. Be prepared to dodge children not paying attention. Plenty of people that won't move out of your way when you're walking also. I like most rational adults will walk down the right side of a walkway to avoid walking into people but between people just stopping with no warning and people walking down the left side like the thoughtless people they are you will probably spend half your time here just trying to avoid unintentionally running into someone.

Yelp
I had some free time so I thought I'd check this place out. I found parking very easy with sooo many spaces to choose from . This place was huuuuge And they sell anything you can imagine even pets. I really wanna come back and get a Guinea pig. You can even get a hair cut here. The people were all very nice an there were plenty of food samples to try. I think I Tried them all. I think ill come here every Saturday

Yelp
El Rematito, translated into English is The Little Flea Market, is located on 3113 Crows Landing Rd, Modesto, CA 95358. It is fairly easy to arrive there, but what makes it difficult is the traffic. They have a VIP parking section that costs fifteen dollars, and normal parking that costs five dollars. If those sections are full, you can park across the street, which has extra parking spaces, which also charge five dollars. The flea market is very big and therefore didn't have a chance in the two hours that I was there, to visit each and every vendor. The food trucks are all scattered around the flea market and have chinese food trucks, american food trucks, and mexican food trucks. There are only three bathrooms and are also scattered around the property. I went last Saturday I commited a big mistake: to go to El Rematito Flea Market at around eleven A.M. As we were stuck in heavy traffic, about two blocks from the Rematito Flea Market, we could see that we were heading into a mosh pit of disaster and insanitation. There was extremely loud music, people smoking everywhere, dirty food trucks, and loose dogs roaming all along the property. Half of the flea market was paved while the other half was dirt. As a result, when it rains, everyone would be stepping in mud and getting dirty. It was very busy and parking was very hard to find. We had to park far from the flea market because there was literally no parking. From my personal experience, I recommend that you should avoid going to El Rematito Flea Market on Crows Landing because it is very unsanitary, badly organized, and has terrible parking. The major problem with El Rematito Flea Market is the sanitation. According to Joe G., "This place is filthy and just horrid. Make sure you get a tetanus shot before going in. Place is disgusting" (Joe G.). Joe is 100% correct in that the Flea Market is extremely dirty. As I was leaving the Flea Market, I asked a young American woman: What is your biggest concern with regards to this Flea Market? The young Mexican-American woman, named Emily Mariah Cruz, replied: "The restrooms. They always have a horrific stench, dirty, and never have soap to wash your hands. Also, the restrooms, at least for the womens', always have a long line of people waiting to go in." (Cruz). The bathrooms are extremely filthy. In the men's restroom, there was trash everywhere in the room, the screws holding the stall up were all loose, and had no soap. Because of this, that means that everyone that you interact with, while walking around, didn't wash their hands, if they used the restroom, which then means there are tons of diseases and bacteria thriving at the Flea Market, waiting to get someone sick. Another major problem with the Flea Market is the poor organization. The food trucks are all scattered around the entire property. According to Aric C., one problem he notice is "... people that won't move out of your way when you're walking also. I like most rational adults will walk down the right side of a walkway to avoid walking into people but between people just stopping with no warning and people walking down the left side like the thoughtless people they are you will probably spend half your time here just trying to avoid unintentionally running into someone." (Aric C.). The lanes in the Flea Market are chaotic. There are people going in every direction, minding their own business and running into vendor stands and people. One thing that stood out to me the most is all the kids with these little poppers that when they are thrown to the ground, cause a loud crack! Many kids would throw them at people's feet in and run away. Also, there was very little shade along the property. For the most part, you are walking with the sun beating on your back because there is only a small section that has a roof to protect you from the sun. Lastly, another major problem with El Rematito Flea Market is the horrific parking. It seemed like everyone was looking to start fights because they all wanted to leave and would honk at other cars when they wouldn't let them through. The parking area is a dirt surface and therefore will make your car very dirty. I had to pay five dollars and still had a ten minute walk to get to the nearest vendor. Overall, if you are thinking to spend some time with your family and get a little taste of Mexico, I highly recommend that you avoid El Rematito Flea Market because they are very unsanitary, terribly organized, and lastly, have horrific parking.

Yelp
Let me start by saying, compared to the markets in other areas Ex: East Bay Area . They have adequate parking and people are courteous here in Modesto. Both while waiting for parking and inside the market. My husband & I I are regulars @ this flea market. They carry a little bit of everything. Food, produce and food trucks, coffee, cold drinks, ice cream, you name it.. Large variety of everything. Both Retail and used items. Household ,clothing ,tools, toys, music & more! I have purchased purses, pajamas, toys, hair bows (love the hair bows!) plants, a jacket & pants. Just a word of advice, look @ the quality of things. Not all are good quality while others are! Also check sizing, clothing tends to run small. We always have fun. I am a VERY happy customer!!!

Yelp
I think there are more food vendors than anything else, for sure one in each row. The produce is fresh and you will find the same price everywhere. Need a haircut sure, I think there are two maybe three there. You can find most things here, new, old and used. This is not the place to impulse buy, know your prices, as some of the things are over priced. Bring comfortable shoes and a bottle of water, maybe a hat also.

Yelp
I love this place. Ok yeah very crowded but still so much fun. I love taking my son there he loves the walk and i enjoy the food there. We always get a bag of fruit with lemon and chile its just so delicious. my son loves the churros, we usually like having tacos from the taco truck, and my son always gets a toy there. Thir fruits and vegetables have great deals. the only bad thing is finding a parking space, yeah they built a new one, but if u dont get there before 9 am...good luck on finding one. We now usually park on Crowslanding road closer to like Service Rd....yes its a long walk but worth it instead of spending hours tyring to find a parking inside, or u can pay the people that live by there $5 bucks for a parking space (lol). I really enjoy it, i might go this weekend..lol

Yelp
This place is good to get cheap stuff or services, and you can find some quality things too. I like and dislike this place. LIKES: -Low prices for services like window tinting, hair cutting, etc. -Low prices on some items that would normally be expensive such as a brand new king bed for $200 which I bought and I LOVE! Back supporter as well. -Produce section!!! I love getting fruits and veggies here because they are fresh and straight from the farm! They have almost all fruits and veggies along with nuts and dried fruits as well. -Food!! Some of the taco trucks are really good, not so sure about the Chinese food trucks. -NO TAXES :) -FRIDAYS & SATURDAYS! Not as packed lol DISLIKES: -Lies! One common thing you will find here is that people will lie to sell you something, I hear it all the time. Best example is the ANIMALS. I would suggest you don't buy an animal here unless you aren't picky or know a good vet. Everyone selling a puppy here always says "THIS KIND DOESN'T GROW" I hear this alot with the puppies and bunnies. They tell everyone this because hey, who doesn't want an animal that stays small right? But they always sell the most basic animal don't believe the lies. If you hear someone say "teacup" "mini" that's a complete lie here, it's most likely NOT. -Cheapskates! Some will sell you things full priced or more than the original cost so shop around. Sometimes you might find something you need and at a fair price, but at this flea market you will find it somewhere else for cheaper. Just keep looking and know your store prices so you don't get ripped off. -VIP Parking.. A BIG JOKE. That parking lot used to be free about a year or 2 ago and all of a sudden it's VIP? No thanks. I rather walk lol Over all: Bring cash, know your prices, don't bother with VIP parking unless you need it, don't buy pets here, do buy produce here, and you best days to go are fridays and saturdays :)

Yelp
Took my nephews today, for their first time ever. It was terrible. When we get to the $5 parking area, I ask the lady taking money if there were any free parking areas, she says no so I pay it. Later on during the day I found out there was free parking on the other side. I wasn't tripping. It was fine for a while, a lot of the vendors were very nice & the boys were have a great time. Then, we get to this booth in the B-building towards the right side of the area. My nephews seen a toy they wanted to check out, so I let them pick it up. The guy running the booth wouldnt stop staring at us. He ends up coming over to us & directly talks down to my boys & says, "If you're just going to keep touching everything & not buy anything, get out." Like wtf? They touched a toy & who are you to talk down to anyone else's child. Are you that much of a pussy that you couldnt say any of that to my face. I was mad but decided to take them out without causing a scene. As we leave I let him know that he was rude. When we get to another boothe I noticed that my boys were acting different so I ask them why & they said that they just didnt want to get yelled at again. At that point I couldn't just let it go so we go back & the guy was standing out so I go up to him & say, "Actually there's a problem, I didnt like the way you talked to my nephews, it was rude. They're children & they wanted to buy a toy but I wouldnt spend a dime on shit you have here, they touched one toy & you tell them they need to get out? I guess I'll be reporting your booth about this." He then says, "Do it then." Okay lol he's lucky I had 3 kids with me or I would've lost my shit. Honestly, moral of this story is, fuck that place & some of the garbage people that sell there.
