The Best Ecuadorian Restaurants In NYC - New York - The Infatuation

"The street food options around Roosevelt Ave in Corona are infinite. In Corona Plaza alone, you’ll find around 30 vendors—including a few Ecuadorian ones—and if you head west a few blocks, you’ll come across even more stands and trucks lined up with sidewalk seating. Our favorite of the bunch is El Rincón Guayaquileño, which has a few other locations, including a brick and mortar. Their carne asada is so deeply marinated that it stains the rice it's served alongside, and their encebollado de pescado is packed with chunks of fish." - bryan kim

El Rincón Guayaquileño - Review - Elmhurst - New York - The Infatuation

"El Guayaquileño has a mini restaurant empire, most of which is on wheels. In addition to their brick-and-mortar spot in Elmhurst, they have food trucks in Jackson Heights and Sunset Park, as well this one near the Junction Boulevard stop of the 7 train. Stop by if you want to sit outside and grab a quick meal. The whole block is lined with street food, similar to nearby Corona Plaza, and there are a bunch of picnic tables on the sidewalk where you can eat some guatita, encebollado, or a few well-seasoned slabs of carne asada." - Bryan Kim

We have been coming here for a year now because the food is amazing! Sadly the service is lacking people that care about their job. I've been a waitress for different restaurants before and if someone asked me how something is made or about the ingredients used and I didnt know; I would go back to the kitchen and ask. I wouldn't tell my costumers "I don't make the juices or the food so I don't know how it's made don't ask me". I understand if it was super busy but it wasn't and it is your job to answer patrons' questions. Lastly, the thing that prompted me to write this review was the fact that once the waitress served our food and forgot one item which we told her about she never brought it and actually completely disappeared for the rest of our time there and we had to ask the other waitress to bring it to us. We really hope management can address the issues regarding their staff because we would love to keep coming here.
