"We love it when a restaurant sears both sides of a vaca frita. It gives it a little extra crunch. And not only does El Rinconcito Latino fry both sides, but they also serve the largest portion we've found in Miami. It takes up an entire oblong plate—the rice and beans actually have to be plated separately because they can’t fit on the same dish. Theirs isn’t fully shredded when it arrives at the table, so the thin braised steak looks like the ripples of sand on a perfectly raked zen garden, which you get to destroy with your fork and knife." - virginia otazo

The food portion for the Minuta Sandwich (fish sandwich, fried) was massive. Thing dwarfed the bun. Fried but not overly greasy. Bun was good but the bottom part got soaked with the condiments, and fell apart. Served with pixie stick potato strips. The service was very good, young lady which helped me was gracious and professional. The order was freshly made in about 15 minutes. Some items on the menu looked pricey, more than what would be normal, but not everything was. Worth visiting again. ** Got a cortadito (junior version of the big brother, cafe con leche) coffee and milk, and the quality was good, fast service. Overall a good experience. I arrived about a half hour before closing, people were eating without being rushed, and I was served without issue or comment about the time I showed up. A+ all around.

Food was great, took a while to get it ready. Coffee was great and desserts as well. Staff were friendly and only few spoke English and they were also busy with Togo orders. We ordered multiple items and every thing was good. Reasonable price and tasty food

In the area taking care of some errands when we needed to get a bite to eat. I’ve been eating at this spot for a while and it’s was a good place to eat. I ordered the vaca sub and my wife ordered the pan con lechón. The service was good. The bread rolls were hard and the taste was bland. The pan con lechón was average but the vaca sub didn’t have much taste. It was not that smart as I recall it. Too bad because they used to make some good food here. Not trying to be mean but it’s probably the last time I’ll be eating here.

Google
Plain not friendly services, food prepared without any love, just served, my Sony side-up eggs were dry like fast food branch restaurant eggs. The welcome person at the restaurant looks like a prison custody. Prices are abnormally high for less food. A place to not return!!!!!

The next best thing to a good home meal dinner. The staff has always friendly and helpful. This place is a excellent choice for a decent price and awesome food. Make sure you ask for the especial of the day. My favorite days are Saturday's and Sundays On Saturday they have the - Lamb in Sauce 👉Best one so far 👈 On Sundays the y have A whole Fry Snapper. My Mom favorite. I recommend 100%

Good place and affordable. Great food. The service wasn't very good 😕

Yelp
Prepare to test your Spanish speaking skills! I was a little intimidated by that when we first walked in. However, they were accommodating and found a server who spoke both English and Spanish to attend to us while we dined in. My boyfriend was raving about how much he wanted to come back to this restaurant since the last time he was in Miami. Unfortunately, the item he wanted was available that day because it was a special item served on Sundays only and we came in on a Thursday. I ordered the Batido de Mango (Mango Shake) and Sandwich Cubano Regular. The mango shake was really good and refreshing since it was so hot that day! It was more like a smoothie to me rather than a shake. The Cubano sandwich was good, and filling! I didn't eat it all and had to save it for later that evening.

Yelp
I give few 5 star reviews but this place has earned it, so long as you keep in mind this is a local restaurant catering to not just the Cuban palate, but also it's cultural norms. It's inexpensive, fast, and serves some of the best Cuban food in Miami. (You'd think there were a lot of good Cuban restaurants in Miami, but among the mostly mediocre this place is a standout.) I came here last Saturday for a late breakfast and found sometime since the last time I was here they'd renovated, giving the place an updated modern feel, still casual but almost trendy. We had the ham croquetas, which were flavorful with a crispy light crust and served hot, fresh out of the fryer. I ordered the Perico Ripiado, which is scrambled eggs mixed with ham, onions, peppers, and tomatoes. All the ingredients were fresh and the eggs were cooked perfectly, not dry but also not runny. The accompanying fries were the perfect size and crisp but not overdone. I drink American coffee and they make a surprisingly good cup. The Cuban bread used in the toast was a little dry for me but that was just the luck of the draw as my wife's was perfect. She ordered the vegetarian omelet, with tomatoes, onions, green peppers and mushrooms, which she said was also perfectly cooked and it was obvious the ingredients were fresh. The service was fast, professional, and efficient. This is still my #1 go to place when I want good Cuban food with no fuss.

Cristy B.

Yelp
The servings are plentiful! Service is great and fast, no matter if you order takeout or eat in. Restaurant is usually busy but wait is never too long. It's your regular Latin restaurant so can be a bit noisy but really not a problem.

Violett C.

Yelp
Food: the salad was freshly cut. The French fries were fried perfectly; crispy enough that as you chew it could be heard a mile away. Ambience: Friendly and warm; I felt like I was eating at my grandmas. Love it !

Louie M.

Yelp
Excellent location and pleasant dining room. The dishes are abundant and the food is delicious. I ordered the pork quesadilla as an appetizer for my table and it looked as a main dish. The beef soup is amazing. The vaca frita is huge and tender. Tasty and reasonable price. I recommend it!

Peter M.

Yelp
Consistency in food preparation, freshness and flavors is always what restaurants strive for, achieving this is the tough part. This is one of the most consistent Cuban restaurants in South Florida. My family and I eat in or order out at least twice a month. The food is very fresh, it has to be since this place has great deal of flow. If you are in the mood for good Cuban food, this is a must try. Warning the portions are huge and the prices, very reasonable.

Raquel P.

Yelp
Don't know what has happened to this restaurant. They used to be on point but now it is lacking. The restaurant is almost always half empty and the staff is new. The food taste is not the same and they skimp on quantity. This time I ordered for a gathering at my house and they got the order wrong. I ordered portions placed in aluminum trays and when delivered they were on paper containers with the rice and the yucca together and everything a mess. An order of rice is no longer a large order but a cup of rice. I ordered the mojo in a separate container and they put it on the yucca and also on the fried pork chunks and the chicharron de pollo appetizers so it was all wet and soggy. I called to rectify and they would not budge and did not bring me the mojo claiming it was already on the food itself. Here the customer is never right. Will not use this restaurant again.

Harvey R.

Yelp
The Rabo Encendido was amazing! Great friendly service. Will be interested in trying the other locations to compare good continuity.

DiscoGeorge G.

Yelp
Breakfast of Champions ( Cuban Style ) If you are nearby and want a hearty breakfast that will last you till dinners. I highly recommend this plate ! So delicious and economical compared to the fancy spots around Miami !

Anthony P.

Yelp
Muy bien servicio La muchacha que nos atendió se llama Analí Un trato perfecto Y la atención 10/10 La verdad que todo perfecto

Yelp
We stayed in the neighborhood near to this place and got take-out from here several times. Overall, I'd say it's pretty good. We really enjoyed breakfast here. The cafe con leche was excellent, as well as the croquettes. I really liked my steak and eggs, and the eggs were cooked just as I ordered them (over medium). My wife liked her pancakes as well. We enjoyed dinner a little bit less. We got two Cuban sandwiches and arroz con pollo. The portions were ample, but the taste and texture were not as good. The bread was good on the Cubans, and they came with plenty of tiny French fries, but the ham was kind of rubbery. The arroz con pollo was a ton of food for the price but not very flavorful.

Amarilis R.

Yelp
The portions were perfect and very filling. The staff was so sweet and treated us like family

Trina R.

Yelp
Subpar. Not a place you want to go for authentic Cuban. They cut corners everywhere. My croqueta preparada was ham and croquetas, no mayo, mustard, pickles, pork. The prices are way too high for the quality. They have a "vaca frita sub" and it has American cheese blah. It was disappointing. Many other places to go for Cuban food.

Jessica E.

Yelp
Wow I love coming here. This place always hits the spot! The food is delicious. They give so much food and I always have leftovers for later. I like how they have specials for every day of the week. The customer service is great! They also have so many options on the menu. Highly recommend this spot!!

Vicar H.

Yelp
This restaurant is our go to for Cuban style food. It is always good food and service. The ambiance is very nice.

Luis J.

Yelp
I have been eating at this place for years.. Love the food.. Portions are great.. But today while waiting for my food I observed the hostess putting bread in the oven to warm it up.. She would grab it with her bare hands while she repeatedly rubbed her nose.. Fixed her hair.. Picked up cash from a table and not a single time did she bother to wash her hands or use hand sanitizer. She did this basket after basket of bread.. I hope someone reads this and brings this up to her attention.

Marlon M.

Yelp
Well it's was a nice Sunday !!!! Till I walked in this place atmosphere was nice but services it's really un professional just to get a glass of water it took 13 min

Elizabeth L.

Yelp
Terrible delivery service. Only half the food arrived and the rest arrived 30 minutes after and after calling several times. Very unprofessional.

Antonio S.

Yelp
I am half Cuban and lived in Miami for 30 years. Was in town visiting my mother and after driving to Miami from Ft, Lauderdale airport and having a drink to calm down (due to the crazy driving in south FL), we went to dinner. My mother recommended El Rinconcito. I'd never eaten here before, but she said it was always good. Boy was she right. I was hesitant to order the fried pork chunks because they can sometimes be dry, but i went with it. I don't say this lightly, outside of my deceased grandmother's fried pork chunks, these were probably the best ones I've ever had!! And, they were pretty damn close to my grandmother's! The rice and beans were good, pretty standard, but damn!, those pork chunks were freakin' great!! Congrats, I will definitely visit when I'm in town again.

Jessica G.

Yelp
After already taking a bite I found a roach/fly in my Cesar salad, disgusted is an understatement. I have ordered from here many times and the manager told us we could have a 8% discount the next time we ordered..... Truly so disappointed more than anything with how the manger did not seem to care and how nicely we spoke with him throughout the conversation

Sarah H.

Yelp
You must know how to speak Spanish otherwise it's a little mission so your best bet if you're in Miami you want to eat good Spanish food this is the place but that Spanish speaking staff gets a little annoying

Letty M.

Yelp
My Husband and I go for breakfast a few times a month. It's good food. Would recommend.

Seth L.

Yelp
I previously gave them 4 stars but after my recent order I have to give them 5 stars. They have several locations and I accidentally ordered online at wrong location and the manager was still able to accommodate the order for me. Everything was well prepared and fresh and delicious. Thank you to Gregory and his staff at the 8st location for making it always a pleasant experience at their location. Food was delicious!

Mercedes C.

Yelp
Good food. Boring interior. God awful service. My waitress actually disappeared and I saw her with her purse. She stood with her back to me as she served herself a drink ignored my calls and my waves and disappeared out a door. I sat there wanting my check and after a long 7 minutes I called out to a young woman who referred me to yet another woman who pretty much didn't want to hear my complaint. No excuses nothing. She stood there waiting for her too. That irritated me and is the main reason for one star. Things went south after Covid19 and this restaurant has allowed poor customer service to dominate it. I've been going there many years. Guess what? Im never returning. Im no chicken liver I'm an adult female who must be treated as well if not better than drunken old regulars at the counter. Testosterone rules in that area. Waitress are treated by men as call girls so much lack of respect. And it trickles down to me, a customer who spent $26 at lunch for beef stew "special" soda and cafe. God awful experience.

Sheryl S.

Yelp
I love me a meal of sopa de pollo with a side of white rice, and I order from here because it's cheap, quick and usually pretty consistent. But today I noticed there were fruit flies in my rice! Blechhhh!

Jessica R.

Yelp
Best rabo encendió. My family religiously orders from here every other Sunday for that oxtail. Super yummy and fresh! They also have a delicious Pescado a lo Macho which is soooooo good. With so much seafood.

Esther S.

Yelp
SW 40 St. Does not serve the dish the are selling... A total made up version of arroz imperial that has rice and ham and cheese and only one bit of chicken... IT is ridicilous! I ordered 2 arroz imperial for lunch for pick up. When eating I noticed there was only one bit of chicken. It was rice and ham and cheese...no chicken but one bite. I called and let them know I would go after work to return. When I went after work, I had eaten 1/2 of one order and returning the full second order. The manager Jose said since I ate half of one order he could not refund. MIND YOU, I did not get what I ordered because I did not order rice with HAM. Very insensitive to the customer this manager Jose (so he says). Note, I use to be a customer that order 3 times a week from here. Until last year that this same thing happened to me and I stop ordering. I tried again today, but nothing has changed. THIS RESTAURANT will fail with this Terrible customer service and service arroz imperial with no chicken and treating customer like a criminal trying to take advantage of the by asking for a refund for the terrible food. Thankfully, I do not need the money financially, and can live with only one refund. But, the restaurant has lost a regular customer of 3 times a week.

Rachel P.

Yelp
This place may not have the best service and I must admit the space is so crowded. Tables are almost on top of each other. However, food is good and prices are awesome. They have arroz imperial on special on Sundays and it is so good! A good spot if you're in the area.

Pilar G.

Yelp
Food is consistent, good nothing exceptional, but good! Nice service, I've been going for years and they've always been super nice. Too bad they don't deliver to my building anymore, it was our Sunday breakfast.

Suzy C.

Yelp
Great portions; delicious Cuban food! I really like their online ordering. I have used it a few times and it's always on time and accurate!

Kris K.

Yelp
Food and service here are always on point. Best Cuban food in the area. Portions are huge and enough to share or take home. Red beans are some of the best. Seafood dishes are fresh, chicken and steak dishes are always fresh and cooked perfectly. Breakfast is also amazing. This El Rinconcito is definitely one to try and keep coming back too

Melanie L.

Yelp
Out of all the Rinconcito restaurants I have been to, this has been the best one for breakfast. Our meals came out within 10 minutes and the staff was very friendly. I recommend getting the eggs with ham and cheese, super delicious and soft!

Marily D.

Yelp
Had the special vaca frita with rice and black beans. It's was delicious and a large serving too. I had an order of tostones. The Tostenes were not freshly done and a disappointment. Not sure why they don't have a choice of tostones as a side is kinda odd too.

Cassandra M.

Yelp
Sooo dang good! Stellar Cuban sandwich's paired with delicious coffee..the affordable prices will leave you floored! I ordered so much they needed a wheelbarrow to take me out of there! Ha..

Michelle P.

Yelp
I love this restaurant. Baby churasco has so much flavor, but mine was a bit over cooked. I wish they did Cuban bread instead of the dinner rolls but oh well. Overall it's a great place to have dinner with the family.

Jean-Marie L.

Yelp
Perfect breakfast spot with delicious combos. They also have super friendly staff and the best coffee selection!

Freya P.

Yelp
I'm Cuban, and because I grew up eating authentic Cuban food, I'm super picky about where I go eat it,. food here taste as delicious as my grandmas, that should encompass my entire thoughts for the review. A Definite YES!

Olga A.

Yelp
I'm very upset I had order via Uber eats at 6pm and I received a notice at 7:15 pm to inform me that my order was canceled at 6:15pm! This is the second time that has happen

Carlos S.

Yelp
Great food, generous portions and quick delivery ... My new favorite place to order Cuban food !!!

Maybelin A.

Yelp
This restaurant is close to my mom's house and my brother is a big time fan of there huge chicken breast platter with white rice! So I've tried them quite a few times. We never eat in but instead I do take-out after work and we eat at home. Always my go-to-place when I'm running late from work and my kids are starving. I've never been disappointed. My kids favorite is the "Pollo a la Milanesa" with moro & platanos maduros and both my two girls and myself can eat from one plate! It's that HUGE! Hubby loves the Pollo Empanizado but he's Fred Flintstone so he can finish it all by himself...lol Next time you are in the neighborhood, give them a try!! ;)

Andrew Z.

Yelp
Nasty cold food. Vaca frita was more like ropa vieja. Seasoned horrible. If your a true Cuban that eats Cuban food anywhere else I Miami or at home. You will know this place is garbage. Horrible staff. Cleaning their buggers with their hands. While they serve you. Oh. And they do t speak English. Fruit flies flying and landing all over the tables. Just gross. And then charge me $20 for food? Bro please. Thank god it was my first and only time they took my money.

Cat G.

Yelp
Wish I could give half stars cuz I think this deserves 3 1/2. I'm a damn picky Cuban American and I love the Cuban food here. I had forgotten how huge the portions are, one is definitely enough for two. Always crazy busy and they don't take reservations. If your group is small, you always stand a good chance of scoring a couple of stools at the bar and if you are lucky , Michael will take care of you, in between preparing a mean Mojito.

Carmen B.

Yelp
Nobody answers the phone anymore. I used to order a lot from there but lately it has been impossible to get a peros. To answer the phone.

Efrain C.

Yelp
I am on business in Miami and had dinner at this restaurant the service was really good and the food was even better. I had pollo a la plancha and my Co worker had pork chops he is from Alabama and raved about the meal. The tostones were right on the money Will return for masitas frita another day.

Jennifer H.

Yelp
This place didn't impress me too much the first time my friend brought be here (it was A-OK, but then again we came had an atypical time--the place was pretty quiet), but they really knocked my socks off the second time (during dinnertime on a Saturday night)! First of all, I am not a Miami-native nor do I speak Spanish, so being greeted in Spanish and all the exchanges occurring in Spanish was a little intimidating. But fear not, the servers can speak English and are pretty nice. The last time I went, we were a large party of ten, but the server kindly split up our checks. I can't recall the names of everything we had, but it was all delicious and the portions were huge! Most of the women had to take home half their food, and the men were groaning from overeating afterward. Of what I can remember: rice and black beans mix (moros), plantains (maduros), fish (they serve you the whole thing with the head), fried pork, steak, calamari, fried yuca, cafecito, tres leches--you can't go wrong! Tip: they don't take reservations, and cash is preferred when coming in a large group.

Jorge H.

Yelp
Had a craving for Cuban food so we ordered two pan con bistecs and two shakes. $3.50 per shake which were fine, and $10/sandwich. The steak had the consistency of a sock and the total was $31 (and with no side because why would it?)

Alexa C.

Yelp
El Rinconcito is where the party is at. All the Cubans flock here to dine on some of the most exquisite Latin food restaurants in the area. The shopping center is right on Ludlum and Coral way which houses a major part of the Cuban population in Miami. It's always packed but quickly and efficiently served so you'll never have to wait long for a table. The mariquitas are so crunchy and thin when properly cooked and alongside that yellow sauce, you just can't go wrong. There's a list of daily specials and usually you'll be able to find something good featured every day. I personally have my go to dishes as well but I like to venture out and break away from my vaca frita addiction every so often. Whether it's un batido de Mamey, un pan con bistec, or a big ol Cuban breakfast omelette with salchicha and huevos fritos- you can count on el rinconcito to keep you alimentada.

Miah L.

Yelp
I come here at least once a week, normally on the weekend with my toddler, and I have been happy every single time. It's almost always busy, but not so busy that food takes long or service is bad, which proves how well they are managed. Everything from the toast to the deserts are delicious, and correctly made. The portions are gigantic and the waitresses are all speedy and sweet.

Rachelle P.

Yelp
Great services and AMAZING FOOD! If your looking for cuban food this is your place!!!
