Delicious Cuban sandwich! Also had calamari, tostones, and vaca frita. All of it so good.

This place was very good. Went in for lunch with a group of friends. We had the churrasco meal ($30 plate with 2 sides) with one beverage and dessert and paid around $120 not including tip. Food was ready relatively fast and hot. They offer a curbside window for the quick in-out customers. Highly recommend to anyone as they have a large menu options.

We visit this restaurant for the first time. El Rinconcito Latino is an absolute gem in West Kendall! We had the most incredible experience dining here. The food was outstanding - hands down the best lechon in the area! Every bite was bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. The service was impeccable, thanks to Dianela, who went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable dining experience. Her attention to detail and warm hospitality made us feel truly special. This is the list of all we try : Lechon, congris, Yuca Hervida, Macaroni and cheese, French fries, Boniato Frito, Malanga hervida, Pescado al ajijo. Overall, El Rinconcito Latino is a must-visit. Whether you're craving authentic Latin cuisine or looking for exceptional service, this place delivers it all. We can't wait to return.

Omg. This place was awesome. Start to finish everything was amazing. The waitress knew the details of the dishes we asked about. The portions were very generous for the price and most importantly, the taste was fantastic. Had I known about this place when I first got to Miami, I don't think I would have gone anywhere else.

I ordered a grilled fish with vegetable and green salad to go at El Reconcito Latino Kendall. When I opened the salad white foam container, it was STINKY!!! So I called them to let them know that the salad was spoiled and stinky. They didn’t even apologized or ask me to bring it back. If I pay for something I have to be happy with it. So I drove back to the restaurant and brought the whole food back. I spoke to the manager. He didn’t even say sorry for that. He went to the kitchen with the salad and send one of the employee to give me back another salad, that wasn’t stinky. I didn’t take it because of the way they handle the situation and I asked for a full refund for my food, which I got. There was NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. I would NOT recommend someone to eat there. I would love the Health Department to inspect this place. You cannot serve rotten food :-( I paid for my food, I have to enjoy it. Even if it was for free, you cannot serve people the food that you need to trash.

I always enjoy my experience here. Food is delicious and service is spot on. Nice clean restaurant as well! Thank you!

I don't like this place/location. Mom asked for over hard eggs. Instead, they were over easy. I asked for house potatoes, they took my order and brought back my hot chocolate and were like, "Oh yeah! We don't have house potatoes but don't worry, we have hashbrowns...." I honestly only come for house potatoes 😅 so has she told me that upon ordering, I would have said thanks anyway and headed out to Macitas. Upon bringing the plate... it was not hashbrowns.... it's tater tots.... I look at her, and I'm like... these are tater tots. She's like, "No, those are hashbrowns." Asked for grits instead, she said not because you got hashbrowns. Asked for the manager who was more sane, he said they used to serve hashbrowns but now have the tater tots instead. Told him like I had told her, just let people know the other options besides house potatoes are: French fries and tater tots, not hashbrowns. That way, you can request the food you want without disappointing anyone. Anyways, even though he was rolling his eyes throughout, she got her grits (which yasted great), which were very watery and were more of a soup. Water was never refilled. Brought one mini coffee pour for 2 people who ordered coffee. After I had told her she wanted her cafe con leche very dark (she brought her a nearly full glass of milk with no room to add the coffee). My daughters bacon came nearly completely burned. Overall... we had a terrible time. Thanks.

Yelp
First time coming here and the food was pretty good. Arroz imperial had a lot of chicken, good flavor and cheesy. The pork loin was the special of the day and it was delicious. I'm giving them a 3.5 because the bread was stale and the flan was the worst I've ever had. It had a flavor that is not typical in any flan I've ever had. The service was good and I think it's a good neighborhood Cuban restaurant.

Ingrid A.

Yelp
Five stars because it's hard to find really good carne empanadas the way you make them at home. Juicy, flavorful and full of carne. Also they cafe con leche is definitely caffeinated and creamy. I always come here when I fly in from NYC. This is the place to go if you're dreaming of good empanadas and cafe con leche.

Yelp
Decided to have lunch was going to order a sandwich decided to order yellow rice and shrimp enough to take home and super delicious

Yelp
I live fairly close to El Rinconcito and I've only visited this place about 3 times. My family usually and I opt to go to Sergio's, which ends up being extremely crowded and now their food portions have gotten smaller. Not to mention parking is a nightmare there. So I feel it's only fair I leave a review for my recent experience at El Rinconcito. Atmosphere: Since my last visit (about 3 years ago), they have spruced up the restaurant. In the past there was plenty of tables with very few booths. I even recall an odd chandelier with forks hanging upside down. Now the place has a nice clean vibe with plenty of booth space. This restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. My only complaint is that the outside seating has heavy smokers. Not sure what it is, but that cigarette smell comes inside the restaurant and it's very unpleasant. My suggestion would be to move the outdoor seating to strictly the corner of the restaurant near the little order window. Service: Service was great. All the ladies were attentive and polite. My only suggestion would be for the waitresses to wear name tags. I apologize if they were as I really had a hard time recalling as we were provided service by all. We honestly had a hard time figuring out her our waitress was. Food: I was pleasantly surprised to receive our food. The quantity was fair for the price. The food was delicious. I ordered the salmon with mashed potatoes and Maduros. I devoured it! My kids has the kids breakfast which came with eggs, pancakes and fries. Probably could have ordered one plate for them. My husband ordered palomilla but indicated to me that there was lots of fat. Either way, we cleaned our plates with the exception of the kids. Then we asked for dessert. We ordered two tres leches and one ice cream shake. Overall for a family of 4, our final bill was $66. We will definitely return as we had a great experience after 3 years. I think this will be my go to Cuban restaurant going forward.

Yelp
Cute family friendly restaurant, been coming for years. Great service. Delicious food. They recently added drinks to their menu and they are amazing. Always leave here satisfied.

Yelp
El Rinconcito Latino is a staple in the community. It's got the old school ventanita where you can get your afternoon cafecito & pastelitos from which is quite possibly my favorite. I used to get the cantinas from here which are HUGE & for the price totally worth it. But one of my favorite things is a cuban breakfast. Nothing quite beats a tostado & cafe con leche, add una croqueta y ufff espectacular. The other morning after my daughter's basketball game we decided to indulge & have a big cuban breakfast. We walked in & they've updated the place. New booths which adds a lot more seating. It's cozier. The ambience is always nice. The staff is always nice with a big welcoming smile. We sat in a booth & they gave us enough time to decide what we wanted to eat which is never easy. I forgot how many options & I also forgot just how big a rinconcito breakfast is ! My husband & I got the Chema Breakfast which comes with eggs, potatoes, croqueta, tostada & café. My kids both got the rinconcito breakfast that comes with egg, sausage, potatoes, pancakes, Tostada & cafe con leche. There are options instead of sausage you can get bacon, or ham & you can get house potatoes or French fries. But it's a lot of food & absolutely delicious !

Yelp
Increíble servicio de comida y ambiente!!! Tan delicioso y auténtico!!! Can't wait to go back

Yelp
This location does not see much traffic, so it's more of a take spot. You can dine in. I ordered the tostone relleno and not what I received. To be honest cheated and not that great disappointed on the online menu received 4 of them when on line it was 6. They were just ground meat and a plantain shaped and a small cup. This is what you call cheated and not worth ordering at all, also check your order lately many restaurants lost the touch of making good food and quality, this time the boxed was check for low quality and not enough you guys owe me 2 more and made right . Don't bother eating here they will take your money and low quality food and will not give you enough .

Manny M.

Yelp
Like mom's home cooked meal. Can't go wrong with what ever meal you order. The service and attention is also tops. The chicken or beef Vaca Frita are exceptional. MotoLoco305.

Yelp
We've been coming to this Rinconcito for a few years, and always had good experiences. They serve your typical Cuban fare, met with good prices and short wait times. Our usual meal here is breakfast, which never disappoints in both taste and amount. El desayuno Rinconcito includes a mountain of food l, and the ever addictive Cafe con Leche. On the latest visit, we were surprised to see they had undergone a full renovation. The new decor and furniture is modern, and reminds me of your higher end Cuban cafes. Service remains reliable and consistent and overall, we think this place is a great spot for the Hammocks area.

Daphney D.

Yelp
Always too hungry to take pics but I realized I haven't left a review of one of my favorite spots! Rinconcito consistently delivers on great quality Hispanic food with huge portions at a great price. 7 locations across Miami to get you fed anywhere you're at and all of them are equally good in regards to food but Kendall & 142 is my favorite location for customer service. These women at the ventanita treat everyone like family and coffee is always flowing! Croquetas were hot and fresh with my dinner order at 8pm.

Gabriela T.

Yelp
I've been here before but never for pancakes . The pancakes given to me were disgusting . Not only that but they were burnt. No flavor . Not worth and I am extremely disappointed.

Leonarda D.

Yelp

Claudia C.

Yelp
Excellent for Latin food , delivery was fast , nothing wrong with my order , we never go wrong with this place. Lechon Asado and Sopa Del Dia are excellent. When I go the ambiance is nice, clean and good service

Giada F.

Yelp

Adrian F.

Yelp
Every employee is amazing! But they seriously need to get a new manger the manger is super rude. Couldn't even change a dish for me because they can't make the quesadilla with the right chicken.

Allyson B.

Yelp
my grandma has been working here for 10+ years. the food here is amazing. my favorite thing to get is two croquettes, and a tequeño. meal wise, if get arroz blanco with picadillo or pollo a la plancha. the service is great although most of them dont speak english they'll try their best to serve you. the fancy way it looks now is not how it used to before. im so proud of how far they've gotten. also, i hate coffee but i could easily devour a cafe con leche and a cuban bread with butter here

Nathalie F.

Yelp
Been ordering food here for years. Staff at window is very friendly. They remember your name and service is excellent. Food is very good, not greasy at all. Definitely one of the better rinconcito's around.

Elizabeth M.

Yelp
Your deli meat makes me want to hurl. I just through the entire sandwich in the garbage after I realized how cheap your Turkey meat is. It's like it was made into a paste and shaped to look like a deli meat. gross!

Arlene P.

Yelp
Latin restaurants around Miami are a dime a dozen. If your Hispanic and are blessed to be able to get grandma/abuela or mami's home cooking, well nothing is going to beat that but this place is ok. My orders are generally take out and there no real complaints. Food is generally good and prices are reasonable.

Mariam C.

Yelp
excelente servicio y la comida súper buena ,c los recomiendo .les recomiendo las cróquetas q son súper ricas a mi en lo personal me encantaron y la sopa de res estaba exquisita .

Duane S.

Yelp
Came here three nights and partaked of their specials. I found all of the servers very attentive and especially appreciated English speakers. The decor was pleasantly surprising compared to outside appearance. The ambience inside was relaxing...again a surprise compared to the apparent line at the take out window. The specials arrived rapidly. The prices were very reasonable. The Friday specials of the sword fish and churrasco were delicious an A. The Tuesday steak special was fatty and full of un-tenderized tendons, definitely a D-. Thursday's special of ropa vieja was greasy and bland, another D-. The merlot table wine was decent, came in a small bottle and was a good value at $4.95. I can only recommend this place to someone that knows the menu and may want something off the special menu served in a timely manner. Otherwise it can be a hit or miss proposition.

Cathy N.

Yelp
If you're looking for Cuban breakfast staples, this is it! They have your basic Cuban tostada, cafe con leche and colada. I often come here for their two egg breakfast special that comes with a side of bacon/ham, plus tater tots/fries/house potatoes (your choice), tostada and cafe con leche for $4.99 - you can substitute and get a smaller but stronger colada. You can also ask for a slice of tomato instead of bacon. This time, I came in for Brunch and ordered a medianoche sandwich for $6.89 (on 2 plates), and a fresh squeezed OJ for $3.49. A colada was $1.45 each. The colada and OJ are the best!! Each day there are different specials, I have tried the rabo encendido (oxtail) on Sunday and baby churassco on Friday before, both were decent with generous portions and sides. Food wise I would rate this 3 or 3.5 stars because the consistency varies, especially the breakfast items. For example the medianoche was missing mustard and pickles, plus it was stacked with literally COLD cuts of ham. I removed a few layers before I ate it. The breakfast specials (no pictures here) can be hit or miss. Some days the toast is crispier, other times it may be barely warm. Bacon can also be super crispy...or the complete opposite. I mean for five dollars why bother arguing to change it. All I care about is the coffee and it's awesome here. Service wise I'm really happy with the servers, they are welcoming, attentive, and efficient! I come here for coffee at least once a week, either dine in or order at the to go window. There are several Rinconcito around town, this one is closest to the Hammocks police station, you might see patrol cars on some mornings. Always tends to get packed on weekends with --- Updated with pics of new breakfast menu and prices. Same quality of food!

Dan C.

Yelp
I have been here a couple of times and and my wife has been coming here for years and I am not really sure what is up with the negative reviews. I have come here only for breakfast, so maybe I am missing something. I came here last week and was seated promptly, order was taken quickly, the food came out quickly, it was a big portion and the food was all pretty good food. The service was ok. Oh, and the prices are crazy. We both got eggs, bacon, bread, tater tots and café con leche. The bill came to about $12. Totally unbeatable value in my opinion.

Yaisy R.

Yelp
I usually dont write reviews but it has happened to me twice at this place...I first tried breakfast with my hubby and the fries were done in old oil( tasted pretty bad) the bacon was not any better and my eggs were super greasy. Today I bought lunch for my daughter and I and her swiss cuban frita tasted like dirty cloth. :-/ and some of the my fish from my fish bowl was raw Very disappointed

Rc G.

Yelp
Updating my review. I've ordered the grilled grouper from the website several times since COVID, and with the updates on the website the order is usually correct. The grilled fish is good and I usually get a double side salad. Always like the maduros.

Danny S.

Yelp
Pretty good portions and the food is typically very well cooked and tasty. Not a fancy meal but it's great takeout!

Rafael F.

Yelp
Very prop service at Window.Fast service. What happened with The Cuban sandwich ? It's a piece of bread with almost nothing inside, why? I remember years ago this sandwich here.Hello! Remember this plate is a favorite in community, sorry,I will not return here.$9 wasted.

Gilbert L.

Yelp
Not recommended. Not even the manager pay attention to what customers orders. I lived around the corner and I had to cancelled cause it was more than one hour and the food was not delivered.

Stacy L.

Yelp
Their delivery driver almost slammed into my car blowing a stop sign while speeding in my neighborhood. When I called to share it with management I got attitude. I won't be going back.

Frank L.

Yelp
We had a bad experience a couple of month ago and today there was no difference sadly. Today we decided to give it an other chance and sadly it was the same experience. We order 4 breakfast and 3 lunches all the lunches came hot and fresh. All the breakfasts where cold we asked to be heated up than they came back still at the same temperature. Unfortunately we will not be returning to this location. Lots a good memories here but clearly there has been a change in the kitchen.

Joel D.

Yelp
I've been a customer of this place for a very long time, almost since the beginning of its operations as a business. In recent months, at least picking up food from this place has become a nightmare. Quality is at its low level, food is cold, greasy, cooking oil tastes as old, etc. A few days ago I ordered a bowl of pork, rice and sweet plantains, but they served the skin instead of the meat. I ended up buying another plate from another restaurant near my house, because Rinconcito Latino is kind of far from my house. Terrible experience!! I recommend you check your food before picking it up to avoid these situations. Also, food prices are hiking and you don't want to pick up expensive food that is poorly served or made with so bad quality. It doesn't matter if you leave tips or not, the quality is bad.

Andrea V.

Yelp
So sad how bad this place has gotten. Used to be my go to, but this last time the majority of the food left me disappointed. The crema de calabaza & tostones were good, but the arroz imperial has wayyy too much mayo. I had ordered the 1/4 chicken and was mistaken in thinking I had ordered the grilled chicken. When the chicken came out it was fried & sitting in a pool of oil. Since it was my bad, I didn't say anything & was just going to eat the veggies & beans I ordered as the sides. Peor. Los vegetales were soggy & the beans didn't have any flavor. Sad to say this was the last time I'll be eating here.

Mike A.

Yelp
My home away from home good food the employees are very friendly including the owner The sandwich specialist is Juan Tuesday potage de frigoles colorado uhmmm Now the serve these little breads with the dinner there to die for

Roxana M.

Yelp
I was looking forward to a nice lunch with myself! I wanted chicken soup and that's the first thing I ordered, the waitress didn't even bring me water, I guess they see a woman alone and they don't even smile. I give one star ro the soup it was so good, I ordered a big one to go. I order carne con papas, tostones, congri. It was not hot and tostones soggy cold and greasy just not good. By this time I requested a to go container so I can heat my food at home. They should have one person wait on you, instead of having so many girls walking around and they each ask you did you order, they don't know what are you doing.

Tom B.

Yelp
My friend said he would get us some Cuban food. I ordered the serucho with side orders of yuca fries and tostones. When he opened his trays I was very impressed with the generous portion of lechon asado in the tray, and then another generous portion of moros. My serucho was a good sized piece and then the sides. Three tostones and 4 measly small yuca fries. Seriously. Four small yuca fries. I've never had such a small portion of these before. Did the yuca fries bandito get to them? Have they decided to put me on a diet? C'mon Rinconcito, you can do better.

Francesco D.

Yelp
I give this place 2 stars because the food is decent. This place used to be way better years ago. However, I recently ordered food for pick up. The lady at the pick up window thought I wouldn't notice that she included her own tip in my bill and refused to offer my itemized receipt. Dishonest workers worries me as a consumer here. Will give this place another chance next time, but never paying with card again. Anyone who considers paying with card, always ask for the itemized receipt!

Haley B.

Yelp
Great place for a casual sit-down meal!! We were seated right away for dinner and the staff was very welcoming and friendly, especially our server. The meal portions were huge (we had vaca frita, sandwich cubano, plantains, fries, and yellow rice). Very affordable for a lot of food, with a warm atmosphere. I can't wait to come for breakfast which I hear is amazing. They also have take-out service at the window which looked busy. I recommend this place if you are in the mood for Cuban food.

Julissa B.

Yelp
The best cantina!! I use them regularly for cantina, I order for one person and it's usually enough for 2, which is great for my budget. The ladies at the takeout window are the BEST! They remember you and what you like, so window is always packed :)

Sirena M.

Yelp
I've been here several times, and they used to never disappoint. It was always great service, great tasting fresh food and a wonderful atmosphere. Unfortunately, ever since they remodeled the inside, I have noticed a significant decline in the food quality. During my last visit, I ordered the breaded steak (bistec empanizado) and to my surprise when I took the first bite- it was horrible. The steak tasted old (had that dark grayish color as well), the steak was hard to chew and just smelled off. I returned it and asked for what my company had ordered instead. She ordered fish empanizado. When it came out, it was double the size of the one she had ordered and when I cut into it, you can see that it was a completely different fish from the one she had. Mine was slimy in the inside and it didnt seem to be fully cooked through. The textures of the two fish were also completely different. We expressed these concerns to the manager when he passed by, but he couldn't provide an explanation. He did offer to bring another item, but I politely declined since my appetite had pretty much gone away. I do have to say, the service was still wonderful and our waitress was very attentive. Unfortunately, I don't think I will be visiting this location anymore since the last few times i've come to this location I have had some issues.

Stephanie P.

Yelp
Love this place we have been coming here for years the food is great. Our family always orders take out from here mostly on the days we are to tired to cook. They're super quick in delivery which is always a plus. What I love most is that they serve great portions enough for two people. The flavors of the food are great only thing that they can't and never have gotten right is the yuca and I hate to say it but it's missing something when we order it we always add garlic and lime. Everything else is good. There constantly changing the look of the place. Something that stands out are the waitresses they work very hard and most of them have worked there for years and that shows loyalty. It feels good to walk into a place and they know what you like and ask if you want to order the usual. That means they take the time to remember exactly what you like and I'm all for it!!!

Alex G.

Yelp
Prices went up but food quality remained the same. The restaurant offered decent food at a fair price. Some days the food is better than the others it is really hit or miss, however it has never been terrible.

Gilda G.

Yelp
Their food sucks lately. Don't bother going to the one on 142 Ave near The hammocks. They used to be good but now their rice is always hard, the chicken is dry and the chicken sou has no carrots barel any chicken and lots of potato. If I wanted potato soup I would of ordered potato soup. Disgusting food

Eric R.

Yelp
Decent little Cuban restaurant in a hidden, sad little strip mall. Don't let the look of the mall keep you away from eating here. Breakfast is always really good and fresh. I finally had lunch there and was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the Palomilla steak (Thin Cuban style steak) with white rice and tostones (Smashed double fried plantains) and my wife had the Bistec Empanizado (Same Cuban steak but breaded) with boiled Yucca and a salad. The food came out quickly and was very fresh. The portions are large and I was surprised by the large amount of rice I was given compared to other Cuban restaurants which serve a cup's worth that is never enough to have with each bite of steak. My wife's steak was even larger than mine, seasoned well and cooked to perfection. It is easy to over or under cook this type of breaded steak and breading. The tostones on the other hand were a real let down. As I have mentioned in other reviews of Cuban restaurants, I can usually tell how good the food is going to be by how good and fresh the tostones are. This was not the case here. While the tostones were large, they were very thin and definitely not fresh. They were obviously sitting under a heat lamp for a while which made them very chewy and rubbery instead of juicy on the inside and crunchy on the outside. The service is good and it seems that their delivery is top notch. I see their delivery vehicle around the neighborhood throughout the day.

Yelp
If you're looking for authentic cuban/latin food as it's best with very good prices, this is the one and only place. I've been coming here for 3 years and food, service and taste it's been good every single time. This is my favorite restaurant close to home, and it's also my wife's.

Yelp
I placed an order to be delivered, I was told it would be a 45 minute delivery. I live 2 blocks away so I called them back right away and advised I would pick up the order instead. When I got there the lady in the window wanted to refund the delivery fee of "$2.00".. I requested to see the receipt. The total charged on my card was $73.45 the receipt was $68.45 a difference of $5.00 NOT $2.00. I called and asked to speak to "Marco" the manger, he was ignorant and very unprofessional! I asked to speak to tge owner, in turn he said i was a difficult customer. I told him no.. everytime i place am order they either forgot to pack something or just simply get it all wrong. Be careful and make sure you get a receipt they are thieves!!

Yelp
I order takeout from this location maybe 3x month. My review is for takeout service. Never had a meal inside. Ladies at the window are friendly. Never a delay on pickup time. Always ready in 20 minutes. Prices are great. Variety for sure. Everything I have ever ordered, from sandwiches, daily specials and regular menu have been really tasty. My only gripe is when I get home I have to spend 10 minutes picking out onions, doesn't matter what I order. I love onions in the food BUT every dish/sandwich doesn't need 1 whole onion. Jeez! .. other than that will be back!

Yelp
I brought my parents here for a Sunday lunch and I was so glad the service was quick as we had to be somewhere soon! When I say quick, I don't mean 15-20 minutes- I mean within 10 minutes the food was in front of our hungry faces. WINNING! Their Bandeja Paisa isn't the traditional Colombian one and has a Cuban twist to it and as for their Pollo a la Plancha, it was a-okay in my book! The service was excellent as our waitress kept making sure that we were happy customers and though the ambiance was definitely family oriented, there were sports playing on their TVs and they played reggaeton as music. I'm not complaining.
