This place used to be my favorite:( The service has always been excellent. The food used to be so good It was pretty pricy for a guacamole side and a bean and cheese burrito. The burritos used to be bigger. I used to not be able to finish them. The beans were also watery. The burrito was flavorless. I can’t brag about how good this location is anymore and I’m not planning on coming back.

Google
Do yourself a favor and don't come. Food taste as if someone is trying to imitate Mexican food. Our food was flavorless and the tortillas were so hard they resemble tostadas. When I told the waitress she just replied I'll let the cook know but nobody has complained before. Food is extremely overpriced for the quality.

Google
I've always ordered delivery from here and always breakfast items. They are super yummy and I recommend it. The chilequiles are slamming!

Today was my first visit to the restaurant and after hearing people rave about the food I was looking forward to a great breakfast treat. Sadly my wife and I were disappointed. My wife had potato and egg tacos. The egg was near cold, lukewarm at best, and dry, the tortillas were not soft. That aside she said the flavor was ok. My beef fajitas and eggs didn't fare much better. The eggs were dry, the onions and bell peppers were close to raw, the beef fajita meat was very bland, having next to no flavor, and the corn tortillas were not soft and were very ordinary. Sadly we'll not try tacos here again. We may try some different food in the future, but with the other Mexican restaurants around who do much nicer breakfast tacos, it's easier to go where we know the food is tastier.

Google
I used to love this place! It was cheap and the food was the best but now yalls pricing is ridiculous! I tried to order chilaquiles and a can of soda and the price difference from what was going to be today’s order and from a year ago is wild! $5.75 for a CAN soda and $6.50 - $7.25 for an agua fresca??

Google
Get the platano relleno here with carne Al pastor. My husband gets huevos rancheros. It’s good, we have been back a couple of times. I’ve never had take out here so I’m not sure how they do with packing it up but eat in, it’s always been good.

Google
Always the best breakfast and super flavorful. Place has been updated as of 01/2023. Dine-in & to-go…delivery through DoorDash & UberEats.

Google
it was delicious! loved the food and the service was excellent. we would go back.over and over if we weren't from out of state. we got tacos, and a cheese and chicken quesadilla for pur little one and every last bite was consumed. low key, casual, easy going.

Yelp
Don't let the name fool you--El Rinconcito might not be in a corner, but it is a hidden gem. This spot serves up delicious, traditional food that tastes like it was made by family. It has that home-cooked feel, like your tía or mami is in the kitchen making something special just for you. It's a small, simple place where you order at the counter, take a seat, and your food is brought out to you. The vibe is casual and welcoming--definitely gives "starter restaurant" energy in the best way. I'm excited to see them grow and offer even more in the future, but honestly, it already feels like home. Bring your appetite--the food is that good.

Yelp
AMAZING FOOD! Second time here. First time I tried the menudo and the beef fajitas. Second time I was here for breakfast. I had the red and green chilaquiles that were made that way so I can try both and the machaca con huevos. And both were delicious! To top it off they have hand made tortillas! This is the closest you'll get to real Mexican food cooked by a granny at home. I can tell this meals are cooked with love!

Yelp
Cute little place tucked away in Round Rock. I was craving a breakfast burrito, and wanted to try someplace new. Yelp steered me towards El Rinconcito. Plenty of parking, and easy access. I ordered a sausage, egg, cheese & potato breakfast burrito made to order. It was big and stuffed full of ingredients! I also ordered an Al pastor taco. It was ok, but not outstanding. The burrito was hot & cheesy, with big flavor in every bite! The service was efficient, and I was in and out in a few minutes. I'd like to go back and dine inside sometime!

Yelp
I had menudo but had no hominy, at all like not a single piece of hominy. The flavor was there but ehh. I also ordered two barbacoa tacos, pretty sure it was pork not cow tongue, cheek but pork. My husband got the el pastor burrito. His taste buds are temporary out so I can't really say much about it because I did not try myself. The staff we interacted with was polite but spoke no English. Highly recommend someone who can translate. In total for two to eat a burrito, two tacos, medium bowl of menudo, topo Chico, and aqua Fresca which tasted nothing like aqua Fresca we paid $50 after a $4.55 tip. Insane! Unfortunately between the price and mediocre food we will not be back. I do love the small setting, it's an old house. Reminds me of my grandmothers kitchen only I love her food!

Michael S.

Yelp
Order was wrong and tortillas taste store bought. Potatoes under cooked. Not good breakfast tacos.

Hector F.

Yelp
Ordered Menudo to go, no pozole, a huge "pata"" bone that possibly filled up a quarter of the plate, flat flavor and more caldo than meat...really dissatisfied, never going again.
google avatar

Yelp
low to mid quality taco shop. solid 5/10. I will not be back. a little pricey. The staff was friendly and the service was quick for lunch time.

Yelp
This place has changed owners and looks dingy and not that great. The young girl working there acted like she didn't even want to be there.

Ron D.

Yelp
This place is amazing! The Barbacoa tacos are fantastic and the tortillas so fresh. Our favorite got place for tacos for breakfast and lunch!

Caleb C.

Yelp
Food was pricey for mid grade. Service was also mid the lady was rude and looked like she was done for the day. Ambiance wasn't too good either plus our table was dirty

Yelp
This is my new spot! Definitely a hole in the wall that is more than worth it. I came here for a solo bday breakfast and I'm so glad I did. I got a BPEC breakfast taco and the huevos rancheros. DELICIOUS! Homemade tortillas, great salsa, great quality food. I'll definitely be back to try more lunch/dinner options. The waitress is very nice as wellZ

Yelp
El Rinconcito is one of those restaurants on Mays Street in Round Rock that you may drive by every day and not even notice it. It looks like someone converted a small house into a small restaurant. Parking is limited, more parking in the rear (back yard). Once inside you see that it's a quaint little spot that's very popular with the locals. When you arrive, you step right up to the order window. Be sure to let them know if you're dinning in. El Rinconcito offer a variety of Mexican breakfast and lunch choices that take you back to memories or dinning in Small Mexico City eateries. The Food is very authentic and the taste is amazing. I had the Chorizo and Egg Breakfast with refried beans, white cheese sprinkled on top. I was craving potatoes for some reason so I asked if they could blend in potatoes with the meal. No problem. They serve the most delicious coffee in this cute little mug. It has a hint of cinnamon. I love it. My wife has tasted the Carne Asada Torta (Mexican Steak sandwich, but so much more). She was quite pleased with the flavor. I can't wait to try their burritos and the "Torta Cubans. You'll just have to come in to see what this is all about. Service is excellent. This location is fairly small so service is personal. The servers are always smiling and vert friendly. They are very accommodating and will build your meal to your liking. The Salas is very good, but watch out for the red one. Took my breath away. All and all I Visit this place whenever I can. I just wish they stayed open longer. Michael Cummings-Georgetown, TX.

Yelp
Now when you first see this place it doesn't look like much but this hidden gem be is definitely worth the look and 100% worth the flavor of the food!! I ordered Chilaquiles and the flavor was beyond my expectations! I also got a side of beans and they were homemade from scratch! My girls ordered pancakes which were fluffy and perfect with every bite! Now it's small inside and very cozy so to speak the staff was friendly and helpful! It gives very mom and pop vibes and once again worth the stop! Oh I almost forgot you must get some chips and salsa! The salsa was homemade and complete favor, not very hot but so full of flavor!! This is a cute little hidden place in Roundrock Tx!

Yelp
Today I came to this establishment for the first time and got the lunch special to-go. Today the special was flautas with beans and rice. The four flautas were fresh and crisp an topped with sour cream. The rice for the dish was hard as if it had been left out or prepared ahead of the flautas. I would order this dish again but would most definitely check the side dishes prior to leaving with my order.

Yelp
A regular stop for me when I've got a hankering for breakfast tacos. My favorite is potatoes with chorizo, a slice of bacon and some cheese. Get the salsa verde !

Yelp
Update after eating here 9/16/18 and 12/8/18: The food isn't as good. I didn't change my review the last time because I thought it was a fluke but it's not. Their barbacoa is not tender anymore. The food is fine and tasty but it's not exceptional any more to us. I feel sad because this was my favorite place for breakfast The service is always friendly.

Yelp
We were headed to a different breakfast place originally, but spotted this one on the way and thought we'd try something new. I'm so glad we did! I ordered the huevos rancheros and my husband ordered breakfast tacos. The place is small so you probably want to avoid peak hours unless ordering takeout. We arrived at the tail end of brunch and were lucky to get a table. Everything we tried was delicious. I really liked their salsa..not too spicy but still flavorful. The huevos rancheros was doused in it so I ended up eating it in tortillas like breakfast tacos. The staff were all very friendly and let us know up front how long their wait for food would be. Would recommend for a good weekend breakfast!

Yelp
Really goood food. Barbacoa is other places tend to be greasy but not here. The fat is also taken out.
google avatar

Yelp
Ordered Uber eats but here's the food experience: Pros- Migas taco was good! Chorizo and egg tacos were good! Cons- The salsa cups were bloated. That's not a good sign. The barbacoa tastes like boiled brisket, it definitely was not a good "barbacoa". The chips were undercooked - they had a stale texture and they tasted like a cleaning chemical smells! I won't be ordering again, sorry.

Yelp
Muy rico el pozole!! El pan dulce con cafe! Todo muy bueno y el servicio muy amable. Lo recomiendo 100%

Yelp
I'm pretty sure the management or ownership changed. I haven't seen Maria or the cool guy in the kitchen in a while. The red salsa here was my favorite, super spicy and full of flavor. Today I had two breakfast tacos I usually get the #1 tacos on flour. First of all, It had no homemade tortillas like they used to have, instead it was a thin undercooked store bought tortilla, second, the egg and potato mixture was bland, like they used canned diced potatoes, so gross. They used to have big chunks of tasty potatoes not tiny mush. And my biggest problem, the salsa is completely different tasted like just garlic. I used to get tacos from here at least once a week. Not going back unless Maria and the guy in the kitchen are back.

Yelp
Dropped in for breakfast tacos(3) and regular beef tacos(2) to go. Got home opened them up and was very disappointed. The breakfast tacos were light on ingredients and didn't include enough salsa for 1 taco. The regular ground beef lunch tacos were a joke. Mushy ground beef thrown in a small tortilla with couple chunks of potatoes (??), no pico, no cheese, one small salsa. Not what I ordered. Never again.....

Yelp
Places like these are exactly why I am going to miss Austin. Such an unassuming facade, you could definitely drive by and miss this place. But thanks to Yelp, we found this awesome place for breakfast. Javier at the front of the house was warm and welcoming and made us feel at home right away. We got the Jamaica drink, a chilaquiles plate and a dish called the Huevos Azteca which comprised of a thick corn tortilla with two over easy eggs, pinto beans, queso blanca and sour cream. Each of the eggs were covered in a red sauce and green sauce and the entire dish was delicious. Who knew authentic Mexican cuisine could get any better? Check this place out if you're ever in the area!

Yelp
i have been here many times over the years and it is always gonna be a favorite! i've never had anything i didn't like! their breakfast is unbelievable!! very affordable and the staff is so kind. this is true gem and i can't recommend enough!
google avatar

Yelp
This is probably one of my most favorite place to get tacos! I'm never disappointed. The pastor tacos are so delicious and their homemade salsa is served hot. They have an amazing homemade green hot sauce that pairs very nicely with the tacos.

Yelp
We tried 3 tacos and a bowl of posole and were underwhelmed. Scraped our car getting into the back parking lot. My carne guisada taco was on the small side, not a lot of taste but a lot of chew to it. I ordered a picadillo soft flour tortilla taco and got enchiladas, those went to whoever was supposed to have them and eventually I got my picadillo taco, the potatoes were huge and some were undercooked. I wasn't offered any salsas. My wife liked her crunchy picadillo taco and her posole, the posole had tons of hominy and a little pork, the pork that was present was tender and the posole rated 3 stars.
google avatar

Yelp
Easy to miss this place on Mays. A good mom and pop restaurant that has all of the basics down right. Their breakfast tacos are worthy. Good, spicy chorizo and decent barbacoa. Parking is tight, but worth a visit.
google avatar

Abigail R.

Yelp
We came into town and found this spot based on the reviews. I was really looking forward to it because of how great the reviews were. Although the service was great and they were quick; I must say I was a little disappointed in the size of the taco. They were the size of your average taco cabana breakfast taco. (I guess I'm used to having bigger tacos, I'm from a small town).
google avatar

Brian M.

Yelp
Good al pastor tacos. Worth the drive to eat them. Small clean facility that has friendly staff. Has a range of options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Has a few parking spots in the front and more in the rear.

Yelp
So I've been on this massive hunt for mini taquitos. Something as comparable to Taquito West Ave in San Antonio. Let me tell you about El Rinconcito. With 4.5 stars and only mere 126 reviews, this place is gold to my quest. Beef Fajita Taquitos that aren't overpowered by salt. The beef is all the way through marinated and tender. You know when you find meat like this, you take a second to thank them for the overnight work. Unlike other places I tried, beef are BBQed to well done and chared. The flavor might be great but this makes it lose the fat and crumbles everywhere. El Rinconcito serves right, with a dump of caramelized onions in the center of the plate and a sauteed jalapeno popped on top. Corn tortillas that don't disintegrate as they fried the cheese right on the tortilla giving it that oh so appreciated crispy cheesy edges. You're welcome. Go.

Yelp
Had a weird day at work and decided to find a new Mexican restaurant to try out. While driving, I decided to go onto Yelp to find a spot. Yes, I am a badass for texting and driving during rush hour traffic just to get Mexican food. That is some dedication. Anyway, I was reading several reviews and wanted to see how people perceived the food and service here. I'll tell you guys right now that I did not agree with the very few Negative Nancys that posted their thoughts. I tried this spot out and I know well now that when people post crap, it usually is just crap. I respect most opinions but I don't respect absolute spewed bullshit with no constructive substance. To the honest review now... Atmosphere: Outside is much smaller. Very easy to miss the spot. Next to a gas station and across from another gas station. Small parking lot in the front but there is parking in the back. Inside is surprising roomier than I would've thought. When you walk in, there is a little ordering window to the left of the door and then tables with chairs to the right; several booths. It is definitely the feel of a traditional mom and pop shop. Tip: The bathroom light is outside of the bathroom. Menu: Very big selection of foods from caldos to almuerzo, to sides and desserts. There are a lot of things to choose from and I do like the variety. Personally, I like a simplified menu of select dishes but these guys do well with the consistent flavors and dishes they put out so it works for them to have a big menu. If you have a fix for menudo or pozole, they have it. If you need to have a taco, well they have that too plus the variety of meats to choose from. Big selection so go all out. Food: We were served with some warm tortilla chips and a steaming red tomato salsa. I thoroughly enjoyed the salsa. I then ordered mini taquitos with beef fajitas, several breakfast tacos, several al la carte tacos (all on corn instead of flour), limonada, flan and churros. The meats I chose for the tacos were: tripas (soft and crispy variants, al pastor, and barbacoa. For the breakfast tacos, I had migas, bacon and egg, and papas con chorizo. It is usually very easy to find my personal favorite out of the variety but I had a tough time picking one out from here because everything was so good. Taco to taco, it was flavor from the meats melding inside my mouth (that's what she said). The limonada was quite amazing too. Great food. Customer Service: David was our waiter and he was a very cool guy. He was upfront about the selections that he recommended and even was personable. I have a lot of respect for folks who not only take care of the patrons that they serve but also the honesty of what he enjoyed personally. I trust reviews based on a wide consensus but if someone tells you something is highly recommended, that is more than enough for me to believe that the dish will be great. Overall Value: It really depends on what you get but I would have to say that this place does provide the bang for your buck. You sometimes even get more than you paid for. Food pricing was on the cheaper end so it was easy to get filled up. The flavors were amazing. Different variety and great service. All in all, this is a place I recommend for lunch and a small get-together with friends and family. The tacos are solid. I love the limonada at this joint. I would highly recommend this place and I will be stopping in a whole lot more. 5/5 stars.

Yelp
Stopped in for breakfast yesterday. Ordered the chilaquiles. Flavor was average, nothing special. Corn tortilla strips were kinda mushy. Beans were bland, definitely needed more
google avatar

Amy T.

Yelp
Ive been here a few times in the last month. Ive ordered chilaquiles with beef both times that I've been. The first time I would say it was the best chilaquiles I've had since El Borrego de oro... the 2nd time I had it...the beef was kinda chewy.. must have been a bad batch of beef or perhaps it was a different weekend chef? I am excited to try their menudo/posole. The staff seemed very eager to provide great service. it is a very small space with a small parking lot so plan accordingly but it is very cute and quaint.

Yelp
Oh my DIOS! So this is strictly a review about the Pozole because I did not have a chance to eat anything else during our first trip. The Pozole was the best Pozole hands down that I have ever had! The soup was filled with so much flavor, spoonful after spoonful it was like I couldn't get enough! I am upset that I only ordered a small because I would of loved to of had some left overs to have right now! Oh and the combination with a bit of lime, onions, cilantro AND homemade tortillas... ai! It is making my mouth water just thinking about it! If you are looking for a tasty soup filled with flavor on a cool day or if you are in the mood for soup, you need to come to this place and try it out! My Fiancé had their menudo and was also very impressed with it! Needless to say we are going back for more, maybe even today and looking to explore more of their menu! Oh and did I mention they serve their salsa hot to go along with their chips! Totally a first time thing but was also bomb! Their staff is also super nice and personable! Overall we had a great experience and will be coming back for more!

Michael K.

Yelp
worst food and service, order was wrong then also was over charged. I ordered 2 tacos and was charged almost 12 dollars. Both tacos were very small and didn't have the bean or cheese that they were supposed to have.
google avatar

Jeanette Y.

Yelp
Ordered for delivery from here today and was very disappointed. The order arrived on time and all items ordered were received. However we had ordered the bag of chips & salsa ($2.99), we received a lunch size paper bag only about 1/4 full (if that) with chips and 3 tiny cups (single serving) of salsa. But wait; there's more; my burrito of bean, potatoes and cheese had a rotten potato in it along with a couple of hairs!! I threw out the burrito and notified Door Dash of the issue with the burrito; which to me are health violations and shows lack of quality control. EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED AND WILL NEVER ORDER FROM HERE AGAIN!!

Yelp
My sweetie and I were looking for something different today, so we looked on Yelp and found this place that has lotsa stars. The staff is friendly and the place is clean. It might not show as well from the outside, but from what I could see, they kept the inside clean and sanitary. We both tried their beef fajitas and were disappointed. The meat would have been pretty good but it was not hot. It seemed like they had made the meat several hours before. Rice and beans were okay. Their orange (habanero, I assume) sauce was tasty and much milder than I expected. Chips were crisp. Biggest complaint is their food was just not hot. I will probably not be going back, given the number of good Mexican food places in Round Rock.

Elizabeth G.

Yelp
food was terrible ! I live literally 5min food was cold hardly any cheese for a quesadilla and to top it off avocado is black $15 bad experience sorry .
google avatar

Elvia H.

Yelp
Breakfast/brunch Husband and I tried El Rinconcito Round Rock We order the desebrada sopes, huitlacoche and Flor de calabaza(zucchini flower/blossom) quesadillas and cafe de olla, and let me tell you...it was delicious y'all definitely need to visit very satisfied.
google avatar

Shani S.

Yelp
I'm so picky about Mexican food... I mean, it's bad, y'all. This spot is a cute little house in Round Rock that has some pretty decent fare. The salsa is pretty tasty and has a spicy kick. I prefer a more chunky salsa that's cold, but this was pretty darn good. The chips are homemade and hot and yummy! THANK THE CHIPS GODS! Now, onto the food: I got Caldo de Reyes. I was thinking I should get the small bowl, since the spot I go to usually has a giant bowl of Clado... I went ahead with the large, just in case. I have enclosed a photo- it was the size of the palm of my hand. It was very tiny, several carrots and a teeny tiny piece of meat. The corn, which I am used to being about 1/4 of a cob, was also a teeny tiny piece. It was just weird. I asked to make sure I had indeed gotten the large and was assured I had. I ordered a grilled steak taco to give that a try and it was good! Ok portion of meat, fresh corn tortilla. All in all, the place is good and I'd go back if I was in the area. My only complaints would be that there was no refill on chips & the portions were expensive for being super small. There were two of us and the bill was about $30. This was expensive for a hole in the wall Mexican food spot.
google avatar

Mandy W.

Yelp
Nice little hidden spot, good breakfast tacos. Very nice staff. Glad they had a drive thru added!

Hannah H.

Yelp
Honestly this was pretty disappointing. ONE piece of bacon for a whole breakfast burrito? And the tiny container of green salsa. Seems very cheap even though I paid over $6 for it. The tortilla is hard and not fluffy also. Not worth it.
google avatar

Marla H.

Yelp
They say the hole in the wall places are the best! Its true of El Rinconcito. Homemade tortillas were amazing. We ordered the steak and chicken tacos. The meat was tender and full of flavor. The service is great. They are so friendly. We will definitely be back! I have been looking for a fresh traditional Mexican restaurant and this place delivers!

Yelp
Me- Let's grab a bite, i'm hungry. Wife- OK, what would you like to eat. Me- How about some Mexican food, i bet there is a good place here in RR Wife-Punches the directions in the GPS after checking out Yelp. We arrive, park in the small parking lot by a small building, walk into the establishment, best decision we made, in our hunt for choices of Mexican food in Austin. We were greeted right away and requested to sit as we wanted to dine in. Javier was super attentive to every question we had, bringing out the sample of the Jamaica for us to make an informed decision. I had the chilaquiles with the green salsa, when the dish came out and wasn't made right, he fixed the miscommunication with the back of the house, before we had to deal with any of that. The plates came out plated beautifully. First bite and we took an express train to flavor town. The rice and beans, ah, hit the spot. The wife's breakfast order came out and it was a piece of art. The eggs were perfectly cooked for the dish, the Rojas Salsa was smokey and flavorful, enhancing the flavors of the dish. What impressed me most about the establishment is the care and pride the business has for what they put out on the table, truly a well run operation. The management is engaging with their customers, not overly, but making sure they have what they need, & deliver beyond that. Thanks for the excellent meal & a complete dining experience.

Yelp
Traditional Mexican for a good price! Maria and the man in the kitchen are extremely friendly/helpful and the food is out quick!

Yelp
We have been trying for quite some time to get in here, but the parking is very limited and its usually full when we take a shot, but this time the shot hit the mark...WERE IN!!...Service was very pleasant... we ordered the starters of Queso, along with some Chips and Salsa. To be honest, we were not impressed with the Salsa...Its served warm and really didnt have much flavor...Chips were the bomb...In house fresh made, something we do at home too...queso was small and chunky...veggies were a bit to crunchy for the wife...I enjoyed it...We were leery at this point, but when the Plates hit the table, they looked great. We Both went with Chiladas...Beef for the wife, and chicken for me. This was some seriously solid food. Both the sauces were very gratifying...Ground beef had stand alone flavor..Chicken was moist and tender...We both enjoyed the rice...light, fluffy and very pleasing...the beans were on point!!...I had to take a star because of the salsa..It something for us that completes the meal...I still recommend this place, but we will consider this a great addition to our adventure.

Jasmine R.

Yelp
Very disappointed with the menudo--they were extremely stingy with the tripe and there wasn't any hominy in the soup. Flavor was there, but they were extremely frugal with the ingredients.

Yelp
Got three Breakfast burritos this morning,I was thinking they would be small haha these things had to weight 3-4 pounds total and huge wow pleasantly surprised highly recommend this black hit it out of the park So many places are giving mediocre service and food , not these guys incredible

J W.

Yelp
Food is great but the pancake plate has been short some items the last couple of times. It says 2 pancakes, 2 eggs and 2 bacon but lately I have only been getting 1 bacon. I live within 5 minutes and like the little place but this is not good.
