Notable Seattle Restaurant Openings for January 2026 | Eater Seattle

"Located near the corner of Rainier and Orcas, this Honduran restaurant focuses on baleadas, a well-known Honduran street food built on a flour tortilla stuffed with fillings like beans, meat, egg, or cheese, highlighting a staple of Honduran cuisine." - Harry Cheadle

Wonderful service. Very friendly staff, delicious food (much, if not all of the food and the horchata, was hand-made from scratch w/quality ingredients!), and Honduran music playing in the background! Was able to learn more about Honduran culture through the servers, practice my Spanish, and experience their food! It was delicious! I had the Pollo con Tajadas and my friend had the Honduran-styled Carne Asada. There was a very decent serving size (definitely enough for both my friend and I to be satisfied), and delicious; the flavours were complex and well-balanced between the spices and vegetables and chicken/carne. I loved both of the dishes! Especially the pollo con Tajadas which I believe is a new dish for me. I was not disappointed! Meanwhile, my friend also loved both, especially their Carne Asada. They noted how the process of cooking/making the carne was different than he had thought, and he really loved how they cooked it! We also discovered a hot sauce which we have not tried before! We both like spice, so we loved having the Honduran hot sauce, though the dish by itself was wonderful by itself! As spice-lovers, it was a great addition to the dish! In addition, my friend had the Honduran Banana and Grape soda pop which they loved and I liked as well! I got the Honduran style horchata and it was so tasty! A nice degree of sweetness, not overwhelming, a decent balance, some tang, and it also had a few special ingredients that I wasn’t used to in other horchatas but it really complimented the beverage (compared to being distracting or taking away from the flavour, as sometimes can be the case when it comes down to adding things to a dish, though everything I’ve tried here thus far has been wonderful!)! If you have the chance, I would definitely recommend you give this place a try! I hope you enjoy this place as much as my friend and I, we will definitely be coming back!

Loved everything about El Sabor Katracho from the delicious, beautiful food, to the kind, welcoming staff, to the nicely-renovated space. Will absolutely be back to enjoy more freshly-made tortillas and Honduran delicacies!

I wasn't sure what to expect from Honduran food, but this was absolutely delicious. We got the pastelitos and the fried fish between two people and were very full. They make everything fresh, including the tortillas. The pastelitos were covered in a tasty sauce but still had a pleasant crunchy texture - perfect food for a chilly day. There were lots of sides - plantains, coconut rice, house pickled onions with coriander, etc. and the chili cabrón hot sauce was addictive. The fried fish was an entire fish and took us a minute to figure out, but was also very good, particularly with a squeeze of lime and some chili cabrón (like I said, it's addictive). It's a family run place, and we chatted with our server about their plans for improving the space. I want to try their breakfast sometime - these chefs definitely know how to combine flavors. It's also open later than many kitchens in the neighborhood, which is a plus in my book.

My visit to El Sabor Catracho was a truly extraordinary and deeply satisfying experience, a refreshing antidote to the sterile, impersonal environments that often dominate the modern culinary landscape. Tucked away in a quiet, unassuming strip mall, this "hidden treasure" is a powerful beacon of authenticity, offering substance, soul, and flavor over superficial presentation. The moment you step inside, you are welcomed into a haven of warmth and genuine hospitality. The interior bursts with vibrant, inviting colors and thoughtful Honduran cultural touches, making the space feel instantly authentic and miles away from a generic chain restaurant's calculated aesthetic. Soft lighting and the savory aromas of traditional spices wafting from the kitchen instantly set a relaxed, intimate ambiance. What truly sets El Sabor Catracho apart is the exceptional care and attention to detail from the staff. Greeted with genuine smiles, you immediately feel like an honored guest rather than just another transaction. This immediate sense of belonging and warmth is a rare quality, fostering a connection that elevates the entire meal into a truly remarkable dining experience that engages all the senses. For those who appreciate genuine character, heart, and a unique story in their dining choices, El Sabor Catracho offers a profoundly refreshing alternative and a true culinary adventure.

I had a baleada, some horchata, and coconut shrimp with rice and beans and tajadas. Everything tasted super fresh and the service was fantastic. What a great addition to the neighborhood!

Looking forward to trying more menu items! The fried fish and the Pollo con Tajadas were delicious. As was the Banana Flan, or as my wife like to call it, Flanana. Service was fantastic and the vibe was fun!

Great service, delicious and fresh food, clean place, amazing staff. It was definitely worth the trip from Vancouver, Canada. I'll certainly come back.

We came here with a party of 8 and we decided to do family style with almost everything on the menu. Everything was really good from the Pescado to the fried chicken. Will definitely come back! Hillman City welcomes you!
