This place is the best without a doubt! I have ordered here multiple times with Uber eats and never had to worry about if they supply you with condiments!<3333. Everything is packed perfectly, with no spills! Pozole is my main favorite!!!!here !!! Beverage sealed for safety. Just try them out super delicious! Kids plates <33 !

Google
BEST MEXICAN FOOS IN VISALIA!!! This is a must try. Everything we had was perfect and the staff was great - helpful and accommodating. They gave us options that we took and were well pleased with the recommendation - enchiladas and quesabirria!! Highly recommended by us after trying them. I went with 2 chicken and 2 cheese enchiladas but would go with four cheese next time - I love chicken but the cheese were just that good. Highly recommended.

Google
Birria tacos and the cucumber water, were fantastic. Salsas were so good on the tacos and on the broth. Service was good. It's definitely a must try if you're within the area.

Yelp
Highlights: 1. Chicken burrito is "best ever" 2. Staff is very friendly and provide great service 3. Super clean restaurant My family went here last night after getting back from Kings Canyon. My immediate reaction walking in was that the restaurant is super clean and the staff were very kind and attentive. Our server brought chips and salsa to the table for us right away. They have a nice selection of Jarritos drinks and great horchata which comes in a large portion. The food was AMAZING! I ordered a chicken burrito and my dad ordered their quesa birria. We split the two and both were great! My dad said it was the best burrito he's ever had. I loved it too. It was standard in ingredients but excellent in taste. The quesa birria was also great. It was crispy and had a great portion of tender meat inside. My mom ordered enchiladas which she liked! She noted they came with potatoes on top and the red sauce you think of with enchiladas was cooked into the tortilla. Though, they have red sauce as an addition on the menu for $1.99, so I'm sure they would be happy to add it if that's what you are looking for. The food was reasonably fast, very hot, and delicious. They bring out three sauces: a green creamy sauce, a deep red sauce, and a bright red sauce. The first two mentioned are spicy and I loved the green sauce! I didn't try the deep red sauce but my dad says he didn't think it was too hot. The neighborhood the restaurant is in is good. It is near a nice residential neighborhood and across from a liquor store and other restaurant. There were very nice cars parked throughout the area and we did not encounter any issues at all! It is populated as the restaurant seems to get many takeout and Doordash orders. I think you can consider yourself reasonably safe here! This place gets my recommendation! We are headed home today but if we weren't, we would be coming back to El San Marcos tonight!

Yelp
Ordered from here on a day I couldn't eat meat and was pleasantly surprised by the regional twist--they highlight dishes from Aguascalientes, México which you don't see every day. I ordered the Tacos Gobernador and they were definitely different from what I've had in the northern parts of Mexico. The order came with three tacos, and the tortillas had a layer of crispy, melted cheese on the outside--super tasty and added a great texture. One heads-up for anyone with allergies: they included a small cup of salsa, which looked like the mexican version of chimichurri, turned out to be mayo-based. I'm allergic to eggs, so I had to call before trying it. Thankfully the staff confirmed, but it would've been nice if that was labeled on the menu. The green salsa that was also included was delicious and with a bit of lime juice, the taco overall had great flavor. Overall, great flavor and something a little different. I'd come back to try more of their regional dishes--just hoping they get a bit more allergy-friendly with their menu info.

Yelp
Recently discovered this restaurant. Great welcoming customer service, restaurant looked clean. Ordered coffee upon arrival, came quick however coffee was cold tried the green chicken enchiladas combo, also had horchata. Food was okay. Horchata was about 32 oz. Paid $56 (for my gf and I) plus tip not bad for the quantity of food.

Yelp
Found this place working out of town. The place is one of those perfect casual Mexican places with a good selection of super delicious Mexican food. I was seated right away and ordered the Birriaramen. A fusion dish of Birria and Ramen. Wow what a treat. Delicious and plentiful. I hope these guys thrive and continue to provide "non-chain" real food. We need more places like this. Makes me grateful for the Mexican culture that contributes so much to life in California

Yelp
We had dinner here while visiting Visalia - as another reviewer said, this restaurant is a hidden gem! The service was wonderful - very attentive and our food came out quickly. I had the quesabirria and my bf had the enchiladas verdes combo platter - everything was delicious! The pepinada is a refreshing and tasty drink. Wish we lived closer as this would be a regular spot for us - would definitely recommend to others!

Yelp
Stopped here on our way back home. The food was delicious: I ordered a small bowl of pozole and asada fries and my husband ordered the enchiladas and shared the cheesecake which was a little frozen and coffee flan, the entire meal was delicious and cannot rave enough of the pozole which was amazing. Service was good and attentive. Too bad we live far away but will stop when we travel to/from.

Yelp
Great food - good prices - great selection. Too bad the place was empty. The Laotian place across the street was getting all the customers.

Yelp
Honestly this place is a hidden gem. It's always dead but the food is really good. Service was quick! The inside is super cute

Yelp
Excellent food! Some of the best Mexican food I've had! My husband says order the carne asada soft tacos and I say the crispy beef tacos!
google avatar

Veronica H.

Yelp
My Bf ordered an asada torta and I ordered quesabirria tacos. Food is delicious! They bring chips and salsas out. The green salsa is tasty with a little spice and they have a darker super spicy salsa. Service is great and food amazing!

Yelp
From the outside you might think it's not a good restaurant. Don't judge the book from the cover. Service was excellent, food came quick, and everything was so delicious. The waiter was so attentive and very friendly. My husband was so happy with the service that he left a pretty good tip. It is a small restaurant but they have it well decorated. Its ambience was cozy and welcoming. They have enough room to seat. We order quesabirrias, chicken sincronizadas, pozole, green chicken enchiladas, and ramen birria. Let me tell you, if you want to taste the real Mexican flavor you have to visit them. My husband said that he really love the quesabirrias. That their flavor was the best he had ever had. The sincronizada was a little spicy because it had some pickles jalapeño inside. But still delicious. My daughter said the pozole was excellent. The flavor was on point and the meat was tender and flavorful. My mother in law loved the green enchiladas. She said the sauce was very tasty and spicy, But still manageable. My ramen soups was the bomb. I added some lemon and chile and it was so, so delicious. We were very satisfied. My ramen soup was big portion that I had some for lunch tomorrow. For drinks, we got Jamaica drink, and soft drink. I also got a piece is coffee flan for free. I got a coupon checking in on Yelp. It was so, so good!! Yum!! Highly recommend. We will definitely come back and try something different or the same thing!!

Yelp
One of the best burritos I've ever had. It was the size of my forearm and packed with flavor and freshness! The staff were incredibly kind, 10/10 would recommend.

Yelp
Came here on a Yelp recommendations. They were right the food was delicious. Party of 7 none of us had been here before. Disappointed no liquor my group was counting on margaritas. Only beer, wine & Mechelada. The menu is small but has all you need. The place is clean and they have a cute area to take photos. The 3 is for the service. I know it is a Mexican restaurant but our 1 waitress for the entire restaurant did not speak good English and we don't speak Spanish. Made it hard to ask questions at a place you have never been when the menus don't explain what some things have in them. 18% gratuity was automatically added to each bill. I would NOT have given that much do to the service. We arrived at 5 and did not check out until 7:30. Took way too long to get our food and service was not existent after we received it. FOOD IS REALLY GOOD!!!! Only open until 8 pm on Saturday. If I lived closer I would do take out for sure.

Olga G.

Yelp
This place is great as always. If you're wanting good Mexican food that does not come from a fast food place this is your spot. You don't have to wait long and it's super close to downtown- plus they have the good nugget ice here. The family that owns it makes sure everything is well prepared and flavorful. Be sure to ask for the green house salsa. Glad the pozole is now offered daily and they do take out/food delivery. Support your local business!

Yelp
I heard about El San Marcos, Mexican restaurant from the lifestyles magazine. The pictures of the food looks so good. We actually went to the restaurant that night we took one of our grand children in. She loved her crispy chicken tacos and the rice and beans and I had L San Marcos enchiladas and they were excellent my husband The, green chili enchiladas. He was so impressed. He's usually pretty skeptical about something new he told the owners that we're gonna be coming back with our friends. The service was great. Our food came fast and we got our bill before we asked for it! And that's a very big deal to my husband. He doesn't like to wait he's a bit impatient. And the restaurant was lovely maybe even recently remodeled on one of the back walls. There was some neon angel wings and a halo big enough for my granddaughter to stand there so I could take a picture of her very cute.

Yelp
Authentic taste. Food is always fresh and hot! We always stop by when we're in town.

Mallory B.

Yelp
Very disappointed. I ordered the flautas and they appeared to come out of a box. Then I requested a side of guac, and was charged $8.99 without being told. In person they said they could only do it as chips and dip. They never told me that over the phone. $27 total for 4 taquitos and a side of guac with cold stale chips. Won't be back.

Yelp
Delicious food! You can tell everything is made very fresh. I had the Quesabirra and it was fantastic. Members of my party also got a chimichanga and tacos. They all raved about it.

Yelp
Service was great, the ambiance was trendy but still felt like home. Food & salsa was delicious!

Yelp
This is in my humble opinion, the BEST authentic Mexican food you can find in town. The menu is NOT extensive which might throw some people off but holy moly the food is EXCEPTIONAL! The staff is very friendly and the food is always quick and hot. The entire location is tucked away in the old Davorns location and I love the feel as soon as you walk inside. Very cute, very small but a very welcoming atmosphere. Do NOT sleep on this restaurant. The birria tacos are AMAZING. The birria ramen, so good, the chilaquiles was AMAZING! Something about a spot that can make chilaquiles and the chips stay crunchy! So good!

Yelp
Excellent pozole with highly recommend this authentic Mexican pozole the restaurant staff is very friendly. Also the restaurant is very clean and walldecorated it..

Yelp
I hate to give this place 3 stars but I'll let you know why. First off their customer service was great. I had been wanting to try this place for a while since. The inside was definitely better than the outside so don't let the outside scare you. I love the way they set the restaurant up inside The prices are up there I was surprised I know inflation is up but the food was not even up to par for me. These shrimp tacos pictured was $15. No beans or rice it wasn't even a combo. They were wayyyy over salted I thought about taking it back but I felt I would be given them a hassle and I didn't want to do that. Did I eat them? For 15$ you know I did. My husband had the aguas chiles and said it was okay but wouldn't order it again. The cool thing is that if you spend over $50 you can check in on Yelp for a free coffee flan. I love flan. But this one didn't make the cut for me. Coffee flan isn't for everyone. They have horchata and it's very hard to find a place with a good horchata. Again didn't pass the test for me for taste. Horchata is always a 50/50 in different establishments. We spent over $50 dollars for 3 tacos, one plate and two beverages. The flan was free. Again customer service was great but it was too expensive and not that tasty, at least what I had ordered.
google avatar

Michelle O.

Yelp
So good! You won't be disappointed. Birriaramen 8 year old (kids cheeseburger & fries): "The burger was ok and the fries were good." 4 year old (kids chicken nuggets & fries): "They taste weird." ***leaves plate untouched and eats salt.***
google avatar

Miguel R.

Yelp
Best Mexican food in Visalia. My daughter ordered the birra ramen and it was the best I've had. The tacos were good. Not better than a LA truck but they did the job. I also ordered Verde enchiladas With chicken and they were great! Order the cucumber water and ask for extra Chamoy.
google avatar

David M.

Yelp
We will definitely come back. Food was very good. More authentic than most of the other restaurants in town. The menu is a little limited but everything on it is great.
google avatar

Patty A.

Yelp
We are from out of town and really appreciated Yelp for guiding us to this delicious restaurant. The restaurant was accommodating to our large dinner party and the food was delicious. Amongst our many dishes we had azada fries, chile verde, green enchiladas and red enchiladas. They were all delicious! The ambiance in the dining area was festive and the staff were very attentive!

Joe C.

Yelp
My wife and I picked this place over others on yelp and the food was really good. She had the pozole which I also tasted and it was really good, I had the verde enchiladas they were also good and good came out quick. I understand that it was 6 o'clock on a Wednesday but we walked in and nobody in the place which shocked us being a 4 1/2 star rating. Was surprised the menu was so small , not as many choices as I would have thought. We were out here on vacation.
google avatar

Laura Z.

Yelp
Best enchiladas I've ever had! We also had the Pepinada which is a refreshing cucumber agua fresca topped with chamoy. The enchiladas were simple, just cheese, chorizo, and potatoes topped with sour cream and more cheese. It came with a side of rice and beans.
google avatar

Katrina S.

Yelp
One of the best Mexican spots I have found in Visalia. I appreciate that they have a limited menu which usually means they make a few things good and they stick to it. I enjoy their crispy tacos and enchiladas. Their green salsa is to die for. I have no idea what is in, but it's delicious.
google avatar

Frank E.

Yelp
OK so it's been a few weeks since I last posted a review on here. So here goes another one!! Well let's start off with the parking, not the best parking places. They have parking in front of the business but other then that good luck!!! So I was reading reviews on this spot and for the most part they sounded okay. So I decided I gotta try this joint out 4 myself. So I told my chick let's go check it out. So the place was nice and clean not to busy, waitress came fast and brought us chips and salsa. The chips were hard cold and chewy!!! Not very good. I dont like ranking on places but I need to be honest this place wasn't all that. I ordered a Carne asada burrito it wasn't bad but wasn't the best either just average I could say. I also ordered a small pozole which was I would say "fair". My girl ordered the enchiladas Verde. She said she gave them a 7 outta 10. I would recommend this place but it could be a hit or miss just like any other joint. I didn't get the waitress name but she was very nice and courteous.
google avatar

Luis G.

Yelp
The was great. Taste very authentic. Good service. Best restaurant experience in the last year I've had in Visalia. It doest take much. I'm not picky. Would recommend. My wife had the quesabirrias she loved them. I had the enchiladas San Marcos. Good flavor Would stop by again

Yelp
Been here twice now and both times have been great visits. Food is so tasty and slightly different from the standard run of the mill mexican food restaurant. They add their own twist to popular dishes and it reminds me so much of food we get while in Mexico. Pozole is amazing and very large bowl makes you very satisfied if your hungry. The potato on some of the dishes is a nice touch, you really dont see that too often here in US mexican food but see potato in a lot of mexican dishes in Mexico. Overall food is delicious well made and fresh. The owners are very nice and Arturo is an awesome chef. We highly recommend El San Marcos if your ever in the area.
google avatar

Brandon S.

Yelp
This place has fantastic, authentic, and delicious Mexican food. It's definitely one of the best places in town for not only lunch and dinner - but desert too as their coffee flan is to die for. Having lived in Visalia for 20+ years it's very refreshing to see a family owned business like this here in town. I highly recommend stopping here if you're looking to walk away full & content.

Yelp
Our favorite green sauce in the valley, you have to ask for it! Food is fresh and clean. Did I say the green sauce is to die for ? Have tried the whole menu it is all good!! Come check it out

Yelp
My wife and I have tried almost everything on the menu. Every time we come, we're pleasantly surprised on how good the food is. The couple that runs the place is very friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Publius S.

Yelp
You know, I miss going here. My reason for a pricing incident should not keep you from going. Great quesabirria. Other creative dishes. If they would only apologize, I would be back.
google avatar

Ceci S.

Yelp
Just got back from having another wonderful dinner at San Marcos Mexican Restaurant. This time I had the Birria tacos. My husband had to have their famous enchiladas. We both had flan. You're missing out if you haven't been there yet!
google avatar

Christin L.

Yelp
The food was delicious! I got the quesobirria plate and coffee flan and it was perfect. The service was great, our waiter was super attentive and very friendly. Don't judge it by the building the restaurant is in, it is really cute and clean inside with modern decor. I'll definitely be back with friends :)
google avatar

Soyokaze Y.

Yelp
Pretty tasty. Enjoyed the chips and beer and Birria. Outside of the Main Street. Off the beaten path a bit

Yelp
