The 19 Restaurants Worth Seeking Out in Little Havana

"Tacos and a sultry tequila-fueled speakeasy? That’s what’s on the menu at El Santo, and it's hidden back bar Don Diablo. Inspired by Lucha Libre culture, this spot is a shrine of sorts with unique decor covering the entire space. Regarding the menu, there’s a selection of tacos, quesadillas, and shareable starters, including guacamole, chips and salsa, croquetas, and an aguachile with shrimp and serranos." - Amber Love Bond

This was my first time in the restaurant and I must be completely honest . . . YOU MUST ORDER THE SHRIMP FAJITAS! They were mouthwatering, simply delicious. I also had several rounds of Frozen Margaritas and I felt in the mood to have a little fun, they have an amazing club in the back, the music is the best and I love how the place is decorated and themed with religious figures. You have to come! Order churros for dessert!!

When you first enter this place, you will find the restaurant in the front and the club in the back. We all headed to the club because we had already eaten dinner elsewhere. We didn't want the evening to end, so we popped into the club for a few drinks. A DJ was spinning great 80s music, which we all love and know the words to. The decor and lighting were spot on. The drinks were good and we had a lot of fun! Service was pretty good also considering they were busy. Parking was wherever available on the street. Typical Miami problem. This is Little Havana, and it's busy day and night. We have been here before and had a good time.

Google
Best place ever ! Amazing music , Dj , dance performances and the service , you can find a lot of famous singer enjoying the club as a costumers. Highly recommend if you want an amazing Miami night experience.

I had the best time with my friends in this club! Great show and atmosphere.

Google
Excellent! I visited the night club ! At the beginning, I was scared Because it look so expensive but no actually! Women are free , men spent $100 to get in but they can casa consumed this $100 . 00 equal to 6 drinks ! The place is small but it is amazing! I have a great time !

Google
I had the best dining experience! My servers Octavio and Milita were so kind explaining the menu and quick with service. I ordered the shrimp fajitas and it was so fresh and delicious. I also had a frozen margarita, my favorite. The manager Davio was also very kind and attentive. Atmosphere, staff, and food all 10/10. Will come back. Thank you.

Yelp
I love the food here and the underground bar is the coolest/has hookah. Great vibes and always a good crowd on weekends. This is in a great location to bar hop too, as it is close to a lot of other bars and restaurants in the area.

Yelp
Super great place! Stopped in this hip bar in Little Havana for a few cocktails after dinner and was really impressed! I enjoyed a great Paloma and Oaxaca Old Fashioned. Well crafted cocktails and great service. I didn't get the chance to try the taqueria attached to the bar but the food looked great as well.

Yelp
It was completely dead when I showed up, literally zero customers before I got here. Now you would think I would have great service but sadly I did not. Decor is definitely Narco Vibes! Drinks were good but my drink did get watered-down way before I could even finish it. After a certain time, the club opens up...I didn't get a chance to check it out because I wasn't willing to wait 2 hours with bad service. Probably won't be coming back here.
google avatar

Chris K.

Yelp
Nice, swanky atmosphere. Not so nice service or drinks. The drink I ordered, El Swizzle, tasted weak and watered-down. Disappointing for a drink supposedly made with Zacapa 23, which is a very good rum and easy to mix. $20 with tax is a steep price for a cheap drink. Our server didn't ask if we wanted more until our drinks had been empty for 20+ mins. Sub-par restaurant/bar that bills itself as upscale. I do not recommend.

Yelp
The food was good ! The service when getting ready to pay I strongly recommend that you ask for your detailed receipt. When we finished having dinner the waitress came up to the table and verbally gave us the amount . I trusted her . Then she gave me the credit card machine to add the tip , which I did . The have a hidden charge as a service charge of a whopping 18% . When I asked the lead waitress said it's a service charge . I asked her what does that mean ? She said umm it's the tip. So DONT LEAVE AN EXTRA TIP UNLESS YOU WANT

Yelp
When you walk in first thing you see is the Cool interior and friendly staff. Located on busy 8th st Miami. The place has a Good vibe and party atmosphere. The music is good but pretty music. Pricey bottles and drinks which isn't too surprising for a Miami lounge spot. Order: wagyu skewers ( meat was soft and perfect temp). So so: I ordered the churrasco, it wasn't bad but wasn't special. ( chimichurri sauce was a hit tho ). Had a few drinks, my waitress was really cool and we spoke a bit. Overall good experience place gets pretty packed and definitely reserving a table would be smart before going. They offer valet parking. Street parking rare.

Bas S.

Yelp
They tried to overcharge me by $10 for two micheladas. First they said the extra charges were taxes and fees, even though the receipt clearly indicated the taxes and fees elsewhere. Then they said the pricing on the menus they provide is outdated--which is illegal. They fixed the price for me but I won't be returning. It was uncomfortable to address with them and gave negative energy for the experience. I also ordered queso fundido... it was nacho cheese. Never in my life

Yelp
My family and I wanted to go to the taqueria but there are literally about 3 tables and since it was cinco de mayo it was impossible to sit so we ended up going in the restaurant. The hostess in the front wasn't very welcoming and she told me we could only sit there an hour and a half. We didn't mind since we were already there. The service was a bit poor, there were only 2 waiters so it took a while. I have to say the food was extremely yummy! A little bit pricey but it was worth it. We spent 263 dollars with a service fee included. Also, keep in mind the bathroom is next door in the taqueria. Very inconvenient if you have a toddler who pees often

Yelp
Review is for Don Diablo- Huge disappointed, the comments that folks make in their negative reviews about discrimination at the door is true. Our group was eating next door and I decided to find out what the cover was so we can check out the spot after dinner. The guy at the door told me cover for men was $100. Wtf? Nothing, and I mean nothing going on in this place was worth $100 entrance. I laughed at him and just walked away. Shortly after, I asked the girls in our group to go to the front and try to get in without any guys in their group. As expected, they entered without being charged a cover & came right back out after checking out the spot. We decided to try to get our entire group in and they still wouldn't budge on a ridiculous $100 cover for guys. (Our group was 4 women and 2 males so we weren't even a sausage fest) Save yourself time and money. Go somewhere else where you don't have to feel like trash to get in

Yelp
Horrible place to eat ,they sell water down drinks and the food is horrible service is just .DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME HERE .

Yelp
Got the esquite and the Talk to God drink, out of all the drinks I've had in Miami I lovedddd the Talk to God drink 10/10. The esquite had a hint of lime It was worth it They also have a club that opens up after 11pm

Ricardo C.

Yelp
nothing is traditionally Mexican here. Food is marginal at best. burrito comes with lettuce and peanuts???? tacos were also served with lettuce and meat was very dry. extremely dissatisfied with the food here but service was good don't wish to take anything away from servers.
google avatar

Yelp
An insult to the palate. The manager of the place should be punished by eating what the chef is serving and then pay for it, is the only way he/she will understand the swill clients are being served. The 3 tacos the kitchen staff slapped on my plate were unedible; the fish taco tasted like chicken, the pork tasted like it died in anger, and someone put the mush in mushroom because that's what the only bite I took tasted like. Even the cordial waitress gave me a look of understanding when she saw my untouched mud on a platter. Go for the ambiance, stay for the music and grab a drink, however skip the food.
google avatar

Junyu Z.

Yelp
Honestly pretty sad bc they have a dude that judges you at the door esp on a Saturday night. If you are with a couple guy friends then you have to pay close to 250 dollars per person at the bar just to enter ... that's just bogus. I don't think having someone judge you in 10 seconds should be a good way to do business. I think you need to treat people with decency and kindness regardless of money bc u never know who's rich

Yelp
Went to club El Santo and the host (female with brown shoulder length hair) who collected the money was rude as hell. It was $20 for females, $40 for males. She told my sister $40 and my sister gave her $20. She then said $40 again and my sister said I'm a girl. The host with her discriminating a** looked her up and down and rolled her eyes. She was about to get that a** beat... On God!!! Besides her, the club was nice. The DJ was amazing and played different genres and eras of music. From the lighting to the people to the music was all a vibe. The only thing that was ugly was the host's attitude and she's the first person you see when you walk in and the last one you see when you leave. It's 2021... Please don't DISCRIMINATE , a club is a place people go to have a great time, enjoy the atmosphere and interact with other people while vibing to good music. Her attitude clearly showed she shouldn't be greeting people. She needs to be behind the scenes being unseen or not working there at all!

Yelp
I found my Taco Tuesday night spot. Idk why it took me so long to come here but it did. And I'm so mad that it took this long but glad that now I know it's so good!! I actually wanted to visit the next door location. But seems like they aren't open on Tuesday night or something. Suppose to be more vibey. Anyway. We walked in her because we went to an event near by. And was hungry afterwards. We came in and sat at the table but the people that work there immediately told us that you order what you want at the counter and then they will bring it to your table. So we went over to the counter and I immediately ordered fish tacos. Not many places can make good fish tacos. So I wanted to see and give them the benefit of the doubt. Also on tuesdays you get buy 2 and get 1 free. Which is even better! I got 3 fish tacos! My boyfriend did the same. And boy am I glad I did!!! I just can't keep thinking about them. I mean with just the sautéed onions and bell papers have so much flavor and the fried fish was so crispy. That will be my spot for now on on Tuesday nights!

Yelp
We made a reservation for our friends birthday; a group of 12. We called telling the host we are a little behind. Upon arrival we were only 5 mins late, our table was given away for 5 mins!!! They sat us at a smaller table. Ridiculous but anyways we weren't going to allow a small bump ruin our night. We got sat, server took forever to get to our table so we had to order drinks with the bus boy plus his an amazing photographer! It took about almost an hour for our waitress to take our food order and when she finally did another hour for our food to arrive but everyone's appetizer in other tables were coming back and forth except ours. Food wise, personally I will never be coming back. It lacks on flavor in every way possible. I started with a Fish Ceviche (by the way, you want too much on the lime with the Leche de Tigre), the Salmon Taco on a "Gyoza aka Dumpling" - uhmmm there's a HUGE DIFFERENCE in Gyoza and Wonton; it wasn't a Gyoza taco but a wonton crispy taco (learn what asian cuisine is before writing it down on your menu because you got that part a little messed up), and to finalize ordered my Wagyu "Lomo Saltado" which it was on point perfectly cooked and again lacking on that Peruvian lomo saltado flavor. I didn't even get to the dessert; because if the food is this terrible why bother. My cocktail was also a bummer; no guava taste to it whatsoever! But gotta love all the names for your signature cocktails. Very creative but lacking on flavors and alcohol. Decoration wise of the place is beautiful. It's very different than most Miami places. So whoever did the decor in this place AMAZING JOB with the ideas! I think mainly everyone who was there was to take pictures not literally eat. Then after dinner, we headed to their "club" called Don Diablo. Again, love the decor! DJ you gotta learn how to mix because gosh you're terrible at it! We got a few bottles so our time was fantastic surrounded with friends! All in all, would never come back for the food! Maybe for Don a Diablo if they had a better DJ.
google avatar

Yelp
No bueno. Save your money and try another place on Calle8 but I would not recommend this spot. My food looked and tasted like it came out of a microwave.
google avatar

Danielle J.

Yelp
Found this gem in little Havana. It has a very cool atmosphere! The staff is nice ... the food is amazing !! Definitely a must visit whenever you're in Miami ! Also if you're looking for a place to have happy hour this is it. They are very reasonably priced.
google avatar

Carola S.

Yelp
Nice place, with a club after 11pm. The food was good and the drink strong and flavorful. Service was good, place is just a little pricey.

Angel M.

Yelp
The vibes in this place are immaculate! If your ever looking to get bottle service ask for Stephanie, I promise you won't regret! she's such a sweetheart, made feel so at home helped us with anything we needed. Definitely will be going back to see Stephanie as she is my favorite bottle girl!
google avatar

Misha P.

Yelp
Not sure about the food here, I just went straight past the doors of hell into the speakeasy where the vibe was second to none, but that was just the first time, afterwards it was a less impressive crowd.

Claudia F.

Yelp
My girls and I went to celebrate a birthday. We were the first ones there. The place is cool and very pretty BUT the service was slow. There was only one waiter. The drinks were good and food was good. One of the drinks they couldn't make because they didn't have strawberries. They need to be ready for the weekend especially on a Friday. The guac and chips were delicious. The portion was small. I ordered the taco plate with rice and beans. The tacos were good. 3 tacos but the side portions of rice and beans were quarter size. We had to tell the waiter 3x to bring dessert out. I think he was to overwhelm with many tables. For the amount of $$$ we spent, I think their side portions need to be a little more.
google avatar

Sergio G.

Yelp
The spot is cool and a great vibe but they have a ridiculous cover charge. So for your money I'd recommend a different location.

Sandra C.

Yelp
Wow ... i don't even know where to begin.... But the service at the club side is the worst!!!!! The female bartenders will deny you service all night long . If it's not a known costumer with money they will not approach .. i waved down so many times for service mind you i am in the BISS so i tip great but the girls literally gave me a dirty look and said no and pointed at the guy bartender. Meanwhile the girls weren't doing absolutely anything. I've never been so angry in my life . I bartend as well and i could never be this rude . Then we moved over to a bottle service table and the bottle girl rolled her eyes at us multiple times without even hiding it. NEVER COMING HERE . Me and my friends all work in the industry in Miami and will never return . Disgusting and disrespectful.
google avatar

Isamar C.

Yelp
This is my second time coming to El Santo/ Don Diablo. My first time visiting was within the first few months in which it had opened and I could tell the team was still trying to get their act together. I decided to give them another try and visit on a Tuesday. This time my friends and I had some of the yummiest food. The pitchers of sangria were perfectly balanced and not too sweet. The paella was wonderfully cooked and enough to feed two people nicely. My favorite was the rock shrimp, I wanted to put the sauce they were smothered in on everything. A extra touch was the chef cutting up the Serrano ham a la carte at a station in the middle of the restaurant. Tuesday's have turned into a great night to visit. They have a flamenco show which allows you to experience some extra latin flair. It is the perfect spot to have a great dinner and enjoy a show. Thursdays-Saturday's get extra busy with the traffic of Don Diablo opening up in the back of the restaurant and if you're looking for a party that's the place to be. As for me, I'll be visiting on Tuesdays.
google avatar

Cristina O.

Yelp
Terrible drinks (HOW do you mess up a Margarita? in a Mexican restaurant?), non-existent wifi, super attractive waiters & waitresses who, while very nice, gather together to laugh and dance while you wildly gesture for service. The restaurant itself is very cool & every detail (clearly) went into the decor. Final verdict: If all you want is to take insta-worthy pics, this is the place to be. For literally EVERYTHING else, go somewhere else on Calle Ocho.
google avatar

Stephanie M.

Yelp
Lmao tremendo nightclub! Bouncers, promoters, the whole mafia at the front to get into the excluuuusive bar where you get charged different prices for ordering the same drink. The music is good but I was completely turned off bc I felt like the bartenders were trying to be slick by not presenting the itemized receipt and not notifying anywhere that tip was included. Asked the bartender to double check the the why my bills was diff each time but the girl just told me "I have the receipts" so I dropped it. Totally understand you wanna make tips perrooooo not great business. SOoOo beware !!
google avatar

Mary R.

Yelp
This place is beyond awful. Who runs this place and does the hiring . I am here right now. Begging the servers to help us . You all better hope i don't call my bank and dispute the 18% service charge because what service did i receive ? Stop hiring dumb hot girls and get some real help. God this place is terrible
google avatar

Maddy F.

Yelp
Such a great vibe with awesome food and service. The staff is so nice and accommodating. The food was very good as well. I got the sexy shroom quesadilla w chicken and nachos. Both were delicious and fresh. I love the atmosphere in here. It's a great place to go before heading out to the bars or clubs. The music is fun and I love the design of the restaurant.
google avatar

Carla B.

Yelp
When it get to 18% after tax your dinner it actually is 20% for everyone who come to the restaurant that's a lot for little Havana.iIt means check your bill this is illegal.Don't lie to the customers just said 20% with the bill dont to be smart with your costumers
google avatar

Cynthia E.

Yelp
Soooo much fun! The food, the drinks were incredible! The names, the decor, the music. Even during covid with the space open to the outdoors it felt refreshing and distanced and service was impeccable.

Асель С.

Yelp
I've heard some good reviews about this place but when I actually came there, the staff is very unwelcoming. This place is more like a trash brothel that attracts only teenage boys lol. I'm 24 and I feel like everyone there was 17-18. Even though I listened to recommendations, I am not stepping me foot there again. They should do a better job at the door as well as teaching their staff. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would If you want to have a good time in Miami, please consider better places cause Miami has lots
google avatar

Tahlia U.

Yelp
If I could rate this place a -5 star rating I would. Not only is this restaurant's servers horrible but the food is the worst thing I have ever put in my mouth. Went for a birthday dinner of 15 people and charged every check a $10 charge for a large Evian bottle of water...WHEN WE HAD A TOTAL OF 2 WATER BOTTLES NOT 8. So, just spent a total of $80 on water. My boyfriend ordered Wagyu beef taco for $14 and looked like it belonged in Barbies Dream House(see picture attached). Do yourself a favor, save money and just don't go! Don't give these people your money!
google avatar

Julie G.

Yelp
Went on a very busy night. Saturday before Halloween. The drinks were very good and loved the mix of music between Spanish and English tho more Freestyle house music is needed. The decor is absolutely beautiful and as an artist. I found it very unique and very well done. I will be returning this Saturday with a couple friends for a few drinks. The crowd looks really young like 21 but once you get inside it was a mix of all ages. Felt like a house party. Security guards were exceptionally courteous and welcoming. Felt like a upscale club in Chicago or NY

Gisela G.

Yelp
Great drinks l, Instagram worthy backgrounds. Ask for Rafael! ...............ddsdsxssssssssssss
google avatar

Michael C.

Yelp
This place is so wack, they charge $40 for cover and its a POS. Actually a little ridiculous. The people at the front door think they are bouncing at LIV. Thumbs down and definitely skip.
google avatar

Tyler S.

Yelp
I made a reservation for Valentine's Day at 6, feeling a bit leery given the negative reviews here and elsewhere. I guess my experience or lack there of, validated my concerns. We didn't get a chance to dine here as the restaurant didn't open for 15 minutes after our reservation. Why I waited, I'm not sure. When the doors did open we were told that there had been a meeting, which was why they opened late. Looking through the windows while we waited, it was clear that was the case, along with some of the staff having drinks during it. At that point we had decided not to bother giving them our business. It was a frustrating experience, especially to have a Valentine's Day of all days... Believe the reviews, don't waste your time here.
google avatar

Jason R.

Yelp
this place got my drink wrong 3 timed in a row (glenlivet neat) and brought 2 of the 3 things i ordered out. never received my 3rd order and was over charged for it! I have not ever had an experience this bad!!!!!!! the manager kept blaming me for being at the table too long and made us stand while he sat other people in our table and then brought the bill!!!! I have never seen such bad customer service!!!!!!!! WORST IN MY LIFE!!!!!!!!!!
google avatar

Sara L.

Yelp
Zero hospitality! We were a group of 10, one of them had a feet injured and he was using a recovery boot. If you have one of those you cannot use pants, so he was in shorts! We asked the person handling the door before going in line if we could go in and they said yes. After 30 min waiting, and as we are approaching the door, they said that it was a liability and that he could go in! We ask politely to call the manager and the bouncer just refused to call! What an attitude!
google avatar

Frances D.

Yelp
I wish I had good things to say about this establishment. I was really excited to spend my Saturday night here. I arrived and the bouncers were immediately dismissive. We waited an hour, while waiting at the front of the line, we watched many people be escorted in: older women, men.. etc. The bouncers were rude and insisted lecturing me on how little Havana was a "night hot spot" in Miami, and how arriving earlier would have prevented their obvious mishandling of a basic line. As a Miami native I know this not true. I won't be returning.
google avatar

Matthew S.

Yelp
First off, rude and incompetent workers at the front door. The two guys in charge of letting people in obviously never worked in the hospitality field. Would ask some questions about bottle service and each had a complete different answer...??? We ordered 2 bottles and they continued to treat my party with attitude and were very demeaning, for no reason. Can't fix stupid! Only positives was the decor of restaurant/lounge and the music was on point. Owner should look into making changing at the front door. Those buffoons they hired WILL kill their business.
google avatar

Michelle M.

Yelp
This place was dope! Love the ambiance, they played amazing music all night. I had dinner first and the server was great the only thing that definitely bothered me was that everyone's food arrived at different times. My favorite part of the night was the club/lounge they have in the back. It is extremely crowded so I would recommend buying a table so you can really enjoy your experience there. I'll definitely be returning soon.

Lizz R.

Yelp
I was there 02/07 VERY DISAPPOINTED The drinks were great but tHe food awful First is tooooo EXPENSIVE and Come on , you are Peruvian and Mexican food ,, make better tacos , make better Ceviche, And offer better spice sauce , They have a lot of workers there, doing nothing , And someone explain to me what is that charge in my biill

Nicole C.

Yelp
My first and last time going to El Santo. The aesthetics are cute but that is the only thing going for the restaurant. The waitresses and bartenders were all nice and helpful but everything is too expensive for what it was. Best bet is to go to Chevys and grab some food for better quality and pricing. My least favorite part was when we were told that men had to spend a minimum of $100 in the club towards the back. They ended up letting the guys from our group in for free after saying we were going to go elsewhere. That experience left a bad taste in my mouth and is the reason why I am leaving a 1 star review.
google avatar

Carl E.

Yelp
I will begin by saying that you can't believe everything that people write in reviews. I was skeptical about going to El Santo after reading the reviews on Yelp and Open Table. However, I now understand that often some people are not used to going out a lot or higher price places. I booked a reservation for party of 6 and arrived on time at 9 pm and table was ready, but had to wait for the rest of my group. We had drinks at the bar/lounge. Tried the "Diablo" and the Basil Hayden's Bourbon -- they were great. My group finally arrived after a half hour and we sat at our table. The hostess, our waitress, and the support staff were really great. The service was excellent. Contrary to the comments by other reviewers, the food portions were correct for the price point. Yes, for a group of 6, you have to order multiple plates of appetizers, etc. That's like any other similar restaurant. I recommend the fried yuca, tuna with watermelon, beef tacos, sliced churrasco steak, and more that I can't remember right now. Truly a fun experience with loud DJ music in background. Even the live Mariachi band showed up and sang a few songs. One more thing, it was also great to see the manager actively involved around the restaurant and to come by our table 3 times to make sure that everything was to our satisfaction. Great job! Don Diablo Nightclub -- The only bad thing of the night is that by 12 am, when we walked into attached "Don Diablo" nightclub, it was so packed, that we could hardly move around. Basically, rubbing against 50 people just trying to reach the bathroom, which is in the nightclub. They really need a bathroom in the restaurant section. By 1 am, the nightclub was dangerously and seriously way-over crowded. I've never seen so many people crammed into a place; and I will say that it is a large nightclub, but they need to control the number of people that are admitted.

Yelp
Giving this a three because the music was the only thing keeping this from going to a one. The music was AMAZING! The DJ started off with some house music, then reggaetón, and after hip-hop. Probably the best music I had heard in my whole time in Miami. The downside was the cocktail servers were some scammers. I've never seen a bottle of 750 mls of tequila go in less than 20 mins. The server kept making shots and so did the busser. For no reason. We didn't ask her. We got another bottle (again, only because the music was good) and supposedly they ran out of cincoro (the bottle we had previously purchased) so we got Don Julio 70. But funny thing was 30-40 mins later they were doing bottle presos with cincoro. Interesting..... at one point I caught the server passing off shots to randoms in the crowd. I called her out why she was giving those people shots. She said "oh I thought those were your friends." I go no it's been the 6 of us since we got here. What was supposed to be a $1500 tab ended up being $3600. We didn't feel swindled because again the music was amazing and we're from the industry and can afford it. But just keep an eye on your bottle.

Yelp
This is probably one of the best places to come on a Thursday night in Miami. Not only was the service exceptional, but the people stood out. The ambience was great, and the drinks were phenomenal. I would highly recommend this place for anyone who is looking for a good time, and good vibes on a Thursday night. Will be returning every Thursday!

Yelp
High quality and delicious food, excellent service, tasty drinks, fun decor and sexy ambiance!! Some of my favorite plates were the lomo saltado, salmon taco, wagyu taco, tuna carpaccio, rock shrimp and jalea mixta. Can't go wrong! The club in the back is also amazing - loved the music and vibe! Will be back to celebrate my birthday at this new hot spot!
