Yelp
I will begin by saying that you can't believe everything that people write in reviews. I was skeptical about going to El Santo after reading the reviews on Yelp and Open Table. However, I now understand that often some people are not used to going out a lot or higher price places. I booked a reservation for party of 6 and arrived on time at 9 pm and table was ready, but had to wait for the rest of my group. We had drinks at the bar/lounge. Tried the "Diablo" and the Basil Hayden's Bourbon -- they were great. My group finally arrived after a half hour and we sat at our table. The hostess, our waitress, and the support staff were really great. The service was excellent. Contrary to the comments by other reviewers, the food portions were correct for the price point. Yes, for a group of 6, you have to order multiple plates of appetizers, etc. That's like any other similar restaurant. I recommend the fried yuca, tuna with watermelon, beef tacos, sliced churrasco steak, and more that I can't remember right now. Truly a fun experience with loud DJ music in background. Even the live Mariachi band showed up and sang a few songs. One more thing, it was also great to see the manager actively involved around the restaurant and to come by our table 3 times to make sure that everything was to our satisfaction. Great job!
Don Diablo Nightclub -- The only bad thing of the night is that by 12 am, when we walked into attached "Don Diablo" nightclub, it was so packed, that we could hardly move around. Basically, rubbing against 50 people just trying to reach the bathroom, which is in the nightclub. They really need a bathroom in the restaurant section. By 1 am, the nightclub was dangerously and seriously way-over crowded. I've never seen so many people crammed into a place; and I will say that it is a large nightclub, but they need to control the number of people that are admitted.
