Bonnie’s Fun Cantonese Brunch Returns to Brooklyn for One Day Only | Eater NY

"A Dominican restaurant whose menu includes the popular smash burgers with fried cheese and a chimi aioli as well as meats with rice and beans will partner with a Portuguese bakery to operate a new kiosk in Tribeca’s Bogardus Plaza; the kiosk is aiming to open sometime in March pending the acceptance of its beer and wine permit." - Nadia Chaudhury

Such a little gem! Great outdoor seating and some of the best pastel de nata I’ve had outside of Portugal.

Heads up: Whatever you do, do NOT order online. For some reason, this kiosk shows up on Grubhub and Seamless, but your order will be sent to the Baxter St. location, not this one. That’s what happened to me, and it was both disappointing and a little embarrassing when the girl at the window told me they don’t accept online orders here. That said, Seamless did refund me, and I ended up ordering at the window - a Double Dominican Smashburger and an order of loaded fries. The burger? Slammin’. Two smashed patties in a soft bun, layered with fried cheese (iykyk), and drenched in Dominican chimi sauce. Honestly, I could’ve skipped the loaded fries - not because they weren’t good, but because it was way too much food. They're basically a full meal: fries topped with fried cheese, fried salami, and chimi sauce. If you’re from Canada, think of it as Poutine with a Latin twist. The Joey Bats menu looked really tempting too. I can’t wait to go back and try the pasteis de nata and the other Portuguese goodies I spotted. If you're in the neighborhood, definitely check them out, but order in person!
