Had food delivered, still hot all the over by Lake Nokomis. Really good Elote! (Warning, they toss some onion strings on top) The burritos are huge and full of flavor. The chicken appears to be all marinated grilled breast meat cut into tender strips. The side of rice was nice with the black beans, I’ll have to read up on the sauce selections. The one I figured would be a salsa (Ortega) was just tomatos onions and cilantro. Really great and can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu.

🤌🤌😋 Some seating is available both indoor and out and they bring your meal out to you. I kind of liked that there was a sink nearby in the corner of the store because I like washing my hands before and after I touch food. Quesabirria tacos were amazingggg. 10/10 I will definitely be back!

⛽️ Gas Station Gourmet — El Sazón in Eagan Is a Hidden Taco Powerhouse If you’ve ever doubted that amazing food can come from humble places, let El Sazón in Eagan change your mind — and your lunch plans. Tucked inside a BP gas station, this unassuming taqueria is run by Chef Christian De Leon, a passionate chef with years of experience in professional kitchens. He made the bold decision to branch out and open his own spot, and let me tell you — it was the right move. What Chef Christian is doing here goes way beyond “good for a gas station.” These tacos are the real deal — the kind that stop you mid-bite with a quiet “whoa.” I went straight for the carnitas, and I might never look back. Juicy, flavorful, and fall-apart tender, they pack a serious punch. There’s a richness to the pork that tells you it’s been slow-cooked with care, not rushed out of a steam tray. And while the tortillas do their job, the carnitas bring so much juice that I strongly recommend eating them on-site. Don’t risk the drive — this taco is best enjoyed hot and fresh, with napkins nearby. While I didn’t grab the shrimp tacos this visit, I’ve heard they’re a crowd favorite and definitely worth checking out if you're a seafood fan. It’s on my list for next time. What makes this place even more impressive is the setting. We’re talking about a make-shift kitchen inside a gas station, but you’d swear you were eating from a full-scale taqueria with a trained crew. That’s the magic of Chef Christian — he brings years of culinary knowledge, flavor intuition, and hustle into every taco. El Sazón isn’t trying to be flashy — it’s just trying to be great, and that’s exactly what makes it so special. Great food. Great story. Great tacos. So if you’re in Eagan and want something real, something handmade with love and skill, skip the chain drive-thrus. Pull into that BP station and treat yourself to one of the most satisfying taco experiences in town. Chef Christian took the risk — and now we all get the reward.

Google
Best birria pizza. Has actual light crust instead of a tortilla, which was really good, different than things I’ve tired before. Very fresh tasting ingredients; and most importantly delicious authentic salsa. This is out third time ordering this pizza and it turns out perfect every time.

Google
These are the best tacos i've ever had in Minnesota and some of the best i've had in general! Every time i go back i can't believe just how good that they are. I highly recommend the shrimp tacos, i've also tried the birria tacos and steak burrito which were both really good as well but the shrimp is my favorite.

Google
This place is in a gas station. The service is great but you want to order to go. The small tables inside the gas station are dirty and it just isn't a nice vibe to eat in. I grabbed one steak taco to try it out first and ate it in the car. It was good; so I then ordered 3 more to go. Steak was good flavor but meat was a bit tough. Shrimp taco was delicious but the breaded shrimp where a bit greasy. The pastor taco was great! And the birria taco was delicious. Gonna go back and try more things.

Google
Great tacos, in a gas station. I got 4 tacos, an Al Pastor, Asada, Birria and Carnitas. I thought the Carnitas were the best, the asada tends to fall out of the taco. The ordering is self service, you're prompted to tip 15%+ for making your food and calling your name when it's ready? These are the best gas station tacos I have ever had, and they are priced accordingly, almost $5 each. Their restaurant location is a better experience.

Google
We visited this place after reading an article featuring them (MPR) The food more than lived up to the hype! It seems like such a tiny kitchen, but we really enjoyed everything we ordered, and thought their spicy salsa was especially good. The burrito bowl was a really great mix of flavors, and I loved the veggie taco as a vegetarian option... next time I'm going back for Carne asada tacos and nachos though. Yum! Definitely worth stopping for take out.

Yelp
Visited 1/18/25. Wow what took me so long to get here?! Now that I've been, I can't imagine it will be long before I come back. Located within the BP station, you order digitally at a little pay pad and can eat inside or take your food to go. My coworker and I both got the quesabirria tacos and opted to get them to go. I also got a small order of guac and the chips. Omg that quesabirria is the best I've ever had. So cheesy and melt in your mouth delicious. Came with a nice green salsa that had good flavor and zip to it and consommé for dipping of course. Great flavor and I loved the different tortillas for all three-super fun touch. Would be definitely down to try other tacos too but dang I'm going to have a hard time ordering anything but the quesabirria from now on. The guac was also really flavorful and I would recommend this too. Overall I cannot say enough good things. I will be back, hopefully sooner rather than later.

Yelp
Every gas station should come with an El Sazon Tacos & More. There's a few tables outside in the warm weather, worked out perfect for my friend and I since the few tables inside were taken up. You order at a kiosk, there's only one. It took a little long for the order, about 25 minutes. We had quesabirria's, queso fondue, and a couple Al pastor tacos. The quesabirrias were juicy, meaty, cheesy, flavor bombs. The Al pastor tacos were also tasty, got some pineapple in there, spices, the meat was a little dry though. I'd definitely come back if in the area, maybe order ahead next time.

Yelp
My friend ordered takeout from this place and it was great! I loved the asada street tacos. It came with red onions and sweet onions which I appreciated. Also, they give you a side of guac and salsa! I would definitely come back here to try the other tacos. The pollo El pastor was good too!

Yelp
El Sazon has been on our list to try for awhile! The unique appeal - it's located inside a small gas station in Eagan! Don't let this fool you, the food was real tasty! We ordered the birria pizza and asada burrito. It came with chips and 3 dips/sauces. Service was friendly and helpful. Parking was easy. There are a few tables where you can eat inside or outside. It's a perfect choice when you want some quick take-out Mexican food!

Yelp
Finally made the drive out to try this Mexican Restaurant in a Gas station! I have been seeing videos online about this place and knew I had to check it out as it sounded so cool so I made the trek out with a friend a week ago. The restaurant is located inside of a BP gas station and while I knew it was in a gas station, I was expecting it to be a little fancier or like half of the station was a restaurant, but no! This place is actually just part of a regular run of the mill BP station where you order in the corner and there are some tables on one side of the gas station for you to sit and eat if you stay in. You order at the kiosk for dine-in and then they'll call your name and bring you your food when it's ready. They said the wait would be 25-30 min for food, but my food came out in probably just 10 minutes which was awesome. Due to the limited number of seats, strangers often sit together at a table which can be pretty cool sometimes as the people we sat with were great people and joined us in talking about the food and other restaurants we enjoy. I really wanted to order a Birria Torta, but unfortunately they were all out of Torta's so I ordered a birria burrito. This burrito was absolutely massive and chock full a bunch of delicious bites. The birria was flavorful and tender, and the burrito was tasty and savory with a well balanced flavor. The burrito came with two sauces - one like a spicier crema and the other guacamole. Both were great on the burrito and I used them all entirely. Everything I ate was delicious and I recommend making the visit here!

Yelp
Hey Travoodies Hey.. Can I tell you the hype was slight right. Can I tell you the aesthetics of the gas station isn't giving but the food definitely delish. I dropped by to get the famous Birria Burritto. They didn't disappoint however I would have liked a little more sauce on the burrito. I don't know what the little side suace they provided was but it had an nice kick just not enough for the bug burritto. Honestly for me, I could share it because its huge. The gentlemen who gave me my food was so nice and explained how they have been booming all morning. I noticed those around me eating pizzas and the covered fries. I will definitely be going back to try some other menu items. Stop by and tell them you seen it here.

Yelp
I was excited to check this place out because I've heard all about the "taco shop in a gas station". First of all, it is literally that hahaha. I drove around the building to find the entrance, but it is genuinely just an order counter inside of the BP! I don't know if it lived up to the hype... They were seemingly very busy with take out orders and didn't take our dine-in order for 10 minutes or so. They said it would be a 30 minute wait, which we were okay with, and the food definitely came out sooner than that. I can't say I'd recommend "dining in" hahaha, as they just have two large tables in the middle of... The gas station haha. I will obviously cut them some slack considering it is a unique concept!! But I'd recommend carrying out if you visit none the less, and order ahead. The food. I had three birria tacos with a side of black beans and rice. Though it didn't blow my socks off, I would give it a solid 9/10. Great flavor on the tacos specifically. The tortillas were falling apart, so my tip is to order them double shelled! The prices were average/high. Overall worth a visit if you haven't been, I mean come on, it's a cool concept and good food! But I don't know if I'd go back rather than try somewhere new. Cheers!

Yelp
I visited this hidden gem on 2/3/24 at 1pm. Things to note: this place is in a BP gas station, but do not let that discourage you. This is one of the best meals I've had in the area. You order at a kiosk (or someone takes your order and payment). Be prepared to wait if you're coming at peak meal times, but it is worth it! I order the birria burrito ($14), cup of consommé ($1.50) and a carnitas taco ($4.25). This would've fed 2 people, it's a lot of food! The best was the burrito, and less fav was the consommé, though it paired well drizzled into the burrito. There's some seating but I would recommend getting take-out if your group is larger than 3 people. All in all, well worth the trip out to Eagen to try this. Parking: free

Yelp
I've seen the reviews. I've heard the raves! I had to start 2024 off with a bang. This place was outrageously good. I already can't wait to go back! I can't comment on service due to you ordering off a screen, so I didn't have much interaction with any staff. I will say I was a huge skeptic seeing this is located in a run down bp gas station. The gas station is kind of a dump but the food is worth it. I got a few things to try. Birria ramen, shrimp mulita, carne asada quesadilla and a carne asada taco. The quesadilla was top notch. I will be going back to try more of their meats in a quesadilla. Taco was good. Ramen was good, it was served with 2 taquitos that were delicious dipped in the ramen broth. The mulita was incredible as well. Nothing but good food was had. I cannot wait to go back and try everything else!

Yelp
Was in the area looking for lunch and landed on this place via Yelp. Was a little surprised that this little Mexican place is located inside a gas station in a little corner. The gas station does have 2 tables for dine-in if needed. Surprisingly there were a few people waiting as well. After talking to a couple of customers. It seems like they love this place and would drive for it. The portions are big! Yelp photo made me ordered the crunchy mulita wrap. It's huge. I ate half of it. Crunchy on the outside. It's loaded with bacon, cheese, avocado and some other things? Burrito - huge in size. Filled with goodies. It comes with a side of chips and some dipping sauce. Shrimp taco - one of my favorite kind of taco so had to get it. Honestly, not the best I've had but it was decent. Id go for the burrito or mulita. Horchata- love it when drinks comes in a bag like this. Remind me of Asia and makes everything feel a little more authentic. Tasted a little watered down but still flavorful. Definitely a place to revisit when around the area. Workers were very nice.

Yelp
The best tacos in the state of MN are found in unexpected places like a gas station. That is your first clue to know the eats are a diamond in the rough. This food will make you want to stop visiting usual chains because of the value and flavor. We order online and pop in to pick up. It actually travels well in the car, not all food does. I love eating it from the comfort of home. Parking is easy because it is the suburbs. Service is fast and friendly. Ok after writing this I think I will order this again tomorrow. My only problem is trying not to OVER order. Good thing my boyfriend is a hungry spider that doesn't let any food go to waste.

Yelp
I kept getting recommendations to come here and to be honest, a tasty Mexican restaurant in a BP gas station sounded kinda odd to me. But as time has passed, this place kept coming up in conversation. One Friday night I decided to order pickup. We ordered 6 tacos...2 of each of the following: birria, camarón, and al pastor, a burrito, and a bowl. Everything was incredibly tasty and authentic. The portions are very reasonable, especially for the tacos. I got a lot more meat and toppings than expected. As for the burritos...they are quite literally the size of a small infant. I suggest trying a bunch of different tacos to narrow down the flavors you like for the next time. We will back and have already been back since our first time a few weeks ago...

Yelp
I can not say enough about this awesome spot inside the BP gas station off Diffley in Eagan, MN. When you walk up you expect a gas station, but when you walk in and go around the corner you will see a window with a painting & that is where you want to be to order some awesome food. I have reviewed them before. This time I wanted to share some info about their pop ups, 5 course dinners, and brunch. Pop Up : Absolutely keep your eye out on their social media for pop ups. This day the pop up was outside with awesome burgers, snacks, & mocktails. La Doble - -2 3oz American Wagyu Pattie's, Chihuahua cheese, Eagan secret sauce, onions, & tomatoes. Birria Burger - 6oz American Wagyu pattie, Pickled onions, chipotle mayo on a boillo Roll w/ a side of consomé for dipping. Both of these burgers were awesome. I honestly can't pick a favorite because they were so different & both so freaking yummy! 5 Course Dinner - Waking into a gas station for a 5-course dinner might feel strange to most, but with this amazing group of talent & kind people putting it on it felt like home. They had three large tables set up right in the BP & almost every seat was filled. If you have had Chef Cristian's food then you know why! Each dish was created by Chef Christian & all the mocktails were created by Zoilo. The theme was Fall & before each course they came out & gave info on the dishes & drinks. It was such an awesome evening. Course 1 - CHILE NOGADA Chile nogada almendra sauce. picadillo. pomegranate, herbs HIBISCUS POMOGRANITE AGUA FRESCA Hibiscus flower. pomogranite. lemon juice Course 2 - SALMON Crispy skin salmon, arroz con huitlacoche. poblano beurre blanc. calabacitas BUTTERFLY PEA FLOWER LIMONADA Butterfly pea flower, ginger. lemon Course 3 - COSTILLA DE RES Birria style, bone marrow salsa, avocado jalapeño mouse. consommé. tortillas, onions. cilantro CEREZA NOIR Cherries. black current tea. orange seltzer Course 4 - SWEET PLANTAIN CROQUETTE Croqueta de plátano y queso. mole negro, crema TEPACHE DE PINA Fermented pineapple. piloncillo. clove. cinnamon Course 5 - MANZANA EN CONSERVA SPICED MAZAPAN CHAI TEA Sounds like they will have more coursed meals coming in 2023! You won't want to miss them BRUNCH! My favorite meal ever. The brunch menu is small, but they absolutely nail each item. They are currently running brunch Friday & Saturdays starting at 11 am. You can order the regular menu items like tacos, birria ramen, and more during this time or pick from one of the 4 brunch items. Concha Burger: Made with 60/40 burger (60 American wagyu 40 chorizo), Oaxaca cheese, chipotle aioli, tamarind glaze, avocado salsa, sunny side egg, & bacon. This is a bit sweet and a bit savory with the Concha having that sweet touch. It was definitely worth getting! Mulita Brunch Wrap: This is definitely the best item to grab on the go! It's made with Oaxaca cheese, bacon, potatoes tots , guacamole, ranchera salsa, onions, & cilantro. I think this is my new favorite breakfast item! Comes with a side of house tortilla chips! Concha French Toast: Chef definitely knows how to make amazing French toast. Concha, condensed milk, abuelita ganache, fresas, & powder sugar. This is one of the best French toast experiences I have ever had. Birriaquiles: This boat comes with El Sazon's house tortilla chips loaded w/ birria, salsa, sunny side eggs, crema, queso. I recommend trying anything on El Sazon's menu that says Birria. It's always fire!

Yelp
We couldn't wait to try El Sazon. We've seen all the glowing reports and read the articles about this terrific mexican that you can get inside this gas station in Eagan. Well we finally made it. We ordered the quesabirria, their chicken bowl and side of elote. I can't believe how tasty the quesabirria was! I have to admit, I was kind of skeptical. I mean I love tacos. In fact, we are pretty good about staying on schedule on Tuesdays at our house. Being from Chicago, I also love Italian beef, or beef as we would say in Chicago. The quesabirria is like a taco met an italian beef. First the taco shell is a fresh tortilla. Then it's either grilled or fried so it's crispy. Filled with melted cheese and tender flavorful beef. In my opinion, that's pretty tasty. Oh but wait. Dip that taco in the rich consommé and it just takes it to another level. Without thinking, I wasn't sure what this orange sauce was that came with my meal. So I just took a sip from the container. Oofta. Makes sense that they provided a little hot sauce. Their hot sauce, while delicious and flavorful, tastes better when complimented with the rich beef than sipped directly from the container. No doubt this is a homemade sauce. The chicken bowl was huge. Full of chicken, rice, peppers and guacamole. My wife said it was tasty. Enough for two meals. The elote was as we hoped. Sweet roasted corn with some lime and cheese. Perfection. Some of the best Mexican food that we've had. Already looking forward to returning to try their ramen and pizza. Great place!

Yelp
This place has fantastic food. When I pulled into the BP lot I looked for a El Sasons sign. I found a small one in the corner of the front window. I was not sure about this place, but I thought why not. I entered and headed to the right corner, I could see through a small window people cooking. I stood and wondered now what. I saw a tablet on a stand in front of a menu and it said order and pay here. I was glad I had looked on-line at menu so I knew what I wanted. It wasn't too hard to order off this tablet and pay, although I did end up paying $3.50 for some very hot onions and peppers dish that was great. I ordered a birria[beef] burrito that might be best I have ever had. $14.00 , large and full of beef. The guacamole was also very good. I highly recommend this place.

Yelp
Bougiest gas station burritos I've ever had! Fantastic portions and appealing presentation of the food - I had a birria chimichanga and my partner had an Al pastor burrito - both delicious with lots of sauce and flavorful meat. The Al pastor was chicken which surprised us but we liked how it tasted. Only thing is we both got maybe 4 chips per box - which felt a little silly to me. But overall would definitely come back next time I'm in the area!

Yelp
Do not skip this place! Some of the most authentic and delicious Mexican food I've had in Minnesota

Yelp
Omg. I can't believe the amazing food I just ordered from within the BP Gas Station! It was super busy during their last hour before closing, but the waiter took my order efficiently and the takeout food was ready in less than 20 minutes. The ambiance was horrible since it's inside a gas station, but we didn't care since we're just getting takeout. Hands down, the BEST tacos in Eagan!! I especially loved the flavors of the sauce on my Shrimp Tacos. My husband loved his tasty Birria Tacos and our daughter loved her Chicken Tacos. We shared a kid's quesadilla as a side and that was also delicious!
google avatar

Cassie T.

Yelp
Amazing! Randomly chose this on Uber eats because I wanted a shrimp burrito and was curious about the Birria ramen and everything was so good! This is my new favorite Mexican restaurant! I don't care that it's in a gas station this place is so good!

Yelp

Yelp
Who knew gourmet, Mexican food could be found inside a small gas station. Definitely one of my favorite places to drive to for Mexican food in town. Best Birra Tacos

Yelp
Excellent meal with authentic ingredients. Hard to find the place as it is located inside a gas station.

Yelp
This place is a bomb in the wall. It's inside a gas station and hidden really well the food tasted amazing. I dint knew about this place until yesterday when I saw it in yelp and felt like to try it out. And I loved it. The place has good food and delicious tacos. Really really delicious. They need a bit more of exterior designs to elevate the place. But looks like they are getting decent customers. They have nice paintings on there entrance. The service is really quick too. They explained us the menu and helped us pick the dishes. They have more dishes on menu for next visits. The dishes we bought made us full by the time we finished half of them. We tried the below dishes and loved them : Chicken mulita -5/5 Birria ramen -4/5 might need a bit flavor for my taste Quesabirria -5/5 loved everything on it

Yelp
Holy wow!!! This place is amazing!! We had the QuesoBirria and a chicken Al pastor taco. Wow. Wow. Wow. I spend 6 months every year in Mexico and this place blew me away with its equality to food I've eaten there. I will be back!!!

Yelp
A delicious surprise inside of a gas station! Tacos, burritos, mulitas, tortas, quesadillas, tortas, bowls - all are wonderful.

Yelp
The namesake roughly translates to "flavor" and you won't be short on that. My friend and incendiary Chef Cristian De Leon recently opened up this gem in Eagan. If anyone has had any of his Latin gastronomy dishes at Iconos or previous residencies, then you know everything he puts in front of you isn't anything short of impressive. I'm always excited to see what he may concoct next and with this spot he's really showcasing some great meals made with love. You can find these beauties and more inside the BP station off 35E and Diffley Rd. What we ordered: Del Birria Pizza ~ Oaxaca cheese * salsa ranchera * onions * cilantro * jalapeño and avocado salsa * radish * consommé **if you're Birria obsessed like I am this is the thing for you. The crispy crust to soak up the rich consommé is a thing of beauty** Camaron Burrito ~ Sautéed shrimp * chihuahua cheese * rice * beans * guacamole * salsa Mexicana * crema * salsa ranchera **the burritos here are grilled to a perfect crisp on the flat top and they're as packed with flavor as they get** Birria Ramen ~ Ramen noodles * carrots * onions * cilantro * jalapeño * taquito **yes you read that correctly. It's ramen noodles with birria in a rich consommé broth. It's brilliant** Loaded Fries ~ chicken al pastor * Oaxaca cheese sauce * jalapeno and avocado salsa * onions * cilantro * jalapeños **you can get these with any choice of meat and the fries are super crispy and generously seasoned** I'm Livin' for this spot! Currently open M-Sa 11am-7pm. Give them a shout!

My wife and I tried this hole in wall Mexican restaurant in the BP gas station on Diffley road. Wow, we were surprised on quality and value for meal. My son was asleep so got his cheese quesadilla to go. My wife's torta was very good but I liked my taco/quesadilla hybrid.

Yelp
Can we just make this a rule? All gas stations must have an ass smackin' delicious joint inside, so you can pick up food. I'm already spending an arm and a leg on gas, and thankfully, El Sazon is THAT good that I'll happily spend more on their delicious food. Unassuming from the front, it's easy to miss - if Google Maps and Yelp didn't state this place was inside a BP gas station, you'd almost never see it. I recommend following them on Instagram or other social media to ensure they're open because they sell out - a lot. They're also really responsive via Messenger, and in person, they were really helpful in deciding what to eat. The counter was really easy to order from, and when they saw I was looking at the menu, they came out and answered any questions I had. But I came in there with one thing in mind. Two words. Birria ramen. Weirdly enough, no one has attempted that yet except for El Sazon, and I'm so glad they did. The birria itself was flavorful, deep, with those delicious slices of meat that are cooked with the stew. Comes with two taquitos which I used to dip into the birria for that extra goodness too. The ramen itself was so-so - the noodles are your standard instant package taste, but the soup itself was worth it. I also ordered an elote, which was fantastic - you can't go wrong with street corn, and aside from heading up into the cities, there's not too many places in the south metro that give you an elote straight up on the cob, so I appreciated the large portion because I could have easily eaten two. I'd love to head back and try some of their tacos and other interesting birria concoctions (pizza!). Overall, a great experience, and a fun little gem hidden in a gas station in the suburbs. Definitely worth a try!

Yelp
I never get take out or fast food Mexican. This would be the exception. Took advantage of the dollar taco anniversary. A nice woman comes around and you pay for your order. I got there at 11. She said it was okay to get shrimp tacos. They are served open face on a crunchy tortilla. Big fried shrimp, cilantro, and drizzle. They give you a spicy homemade salsa that is like a sienna color. You can trade a mild salsa. A mandarin jarrito washes it all down perfectly. I got a quesadilla. I can't believe how people ruin it with filling. Perfect as it is. I ate at the table inside the store and they brought it out to me. When I left there was a line. Figures the pseudo Mexican dumps have restaurants. This is as real as it gets.

Yelp
El Sazon did it again -- YUM. This burrito was huge (next time I'll get some salsa verde for it though) and the fries were out of this world. I honestly can't rave about this place enough.

Yelp
Delicious food. We got the Al pastor burritos and the elote corn. 10/10. Great hole in the wall spot inside BP.

Yelp
I love their Birria Tacos! Awesome flavor, reasonable price, 2-3 tacos is a meal! Whenever I am in the area I try to stop for lunch.

Yelp
Its in a gas station so not much ambiance. Knowing that I always order takeout. Food is 4 stars. Best Mexican available in Eagan, but the bar is low.

Yelp
This was my first time at El Sazon, had to look twice at the building to know I was at the right place, glad I went in, best tacos I've had in years, highly recommend.

Yelp
I tried this place out at the recommendation of a co-worker. I will admit I was skeptical because of its location in a gas station even though I trust my colleagues' palate. The food is amazing, and the shrimp tacos are the best I've ever had. My orders are always served quickly, and the prices are very fair. If I lived close by, I'd easily be a regular. Anytime I'm in the area for work, I can't fight the urge to stop in and eat, highly recommended. They also have plenty of seating both inside and out.

Yelp
Wow! Just Wow! This place has phenomenal food. We questioned if it could match the hype given its in a BP but man, we can't stop talking about it since it was so memorable. I had the Birria Ramen and was surprised it also came with two Birria Taquitos. My husband had the Birria Tacos with Consume. All of it was excellent. The server explained all the sauces and gave recommendations when he dropped off the food. He didn't steer us wrong. The service was fantastic, food fresh and flavorful, and the presentation was beautiful. I imagine they won't be in the gas station long but I just pray they stay in Eagan so we have easy access to this fantastic food.

Yelp
If I wasn't married to my husband, I would marry these tacos. And I really do love my husband so is that enough said? Service was on point. Nothing awkward. Ordered, paid and it up in a few mins. Packaged perfectly for my short trip home. Flavors are spot on. Only thing missing was a Mexican bottled Coke.

Yelp
Tucked away in a BP gas station in Eagan, El Sazon is a delightful surprise for suburbanites looking for flavor. Don't let the location fool you - there's nothing "gas station" about the food. What we ordered and ate was more high end than many dine-in restaurants in the cities, and came at a reasonable price with perfect portioning (yes I know how snooty that sounds - consider that you'll pay roughly Applebees pricing for two people + tip AND the food you're getting is 100% tastier AND supports a small local business!). What we ordered: chips and hot salsa, quesabirria, and an asada burrito. Let's start with the salsa. We ordered hot, and I semi-expected it to be the sad green sauce that comes with chips in most restaurants, but it was a beautiful red/orange curry color, very thick, and it packed heat AND flavor. I couldn't get enough. My partner enjoyed the burrito (massive) but said he'd be getting what I got next time: the quesabirria. The quesabirria were packed with tender, flavorful meat, and gooey Oaxaca cheese. This dish came with three and for as hungry as I was going in, I could only confidently finish two (which may have had something to do with how many chips I ate...). The au jus was the perfect pairing for each bite, and bonus: the tortillas did not fall apart when wet. I topped each taco with more salsa (not that they needed it - I'm just an El Sazon hot salsa devotee now). We live dangerously close and I have a feeling this will become a weekly staple. Don't sleep on El Sazon!

Yelp
Just OK - I was hoping for more. Food was decent, but did not blow me away. I had the chicken bowl, sorry but Chipotle has it beat....

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem in Eagan that is packed with a variety of authentic Mexican deliciousness! The food is consistent, the owners are always smiling and have elite customers service! I'll pay whatever for food that is prepared with love and comes packaged with great service! They have a loyal customer in me!

Yelp
This review is for El Sazon at 53 rd Street South and Lyndale Avenue. I couldn't figure out how to remove it. If I could give 10 stars I would. My wife and I had dinner here last night and we are already making plans to return with friends. Everything was great- food, service, and ambiance. First the food, El Sazon serves upscale Mexican cuisine. As a former Texan, I love Tex Mex but it is also great to have something more sophisticated as well. The menu at El Sazon isn't huge but includes a variety of dishes. We started off with the guacamole which was excellent. We also saw the elote which we will definitely order next time. They don't as of this writing (November 2023) have a liquor license but they have a nice selection of mocktails and Mexican soft drinks. We also had a tempura shrimp taco which we shared. I had the birria which was an enormous beef short rib cooked fall off the bone tender with flavorful consommé for dipping and blue corn tortillas topped with Mexican cheese. My wife had the enchiladas in mole sauce. The servings are huge so we brought enough home for a couple of lunches. We were too full for dessert but the couple at the next table had the churros. They looked scrumptious and there were a lot of them. Our strategy next time will be to order a starter, a couple of tacos, a single main dish to share, and churros for dessert. Our server, Maria, was very friendly and helpful. El Sazon is located at 53rd Street South and Lyndale in the location that used to house EL Jefe and before that Caribou. It isn't a large space so reservations may be a good idea. There is parking in a small lot next to the restaurant as well as in a larger lot in back. We will definitely return.

Yelp
Prices are insane. Food was ok. The pizza was good but not the torta! The meat was marinated with a weird red dressing and it did not tasted good. The green salsa they gave us was ok. Probably not be going there again in a long time.

Yelp
This is an awesome little restaurant for good Mexican food in more of a takeout fashion. It's in a gas station so I wouldn't call this a sit down place by any means. Order ahead since it's busy. We got a whole family's worth of food and it was really two families' worth of food. Thought was put into every detail, and my burrito was delicious. The fries were delicious. We will be back.

Yelp
We did takeout and most of my party liked the food. I would recommend to others eating at the restaurant instead of takeout. Dishes were flavorful and very large portions.

Courtney B.

Yelp
The guacamole is awesome and the burrito was delicious! And yes, it's located in a little gas station, but don't let that scare you away. This is NOT gas station food!

Yelp
Gas station goodness! One of my favorite Mexican stops in Atlanta was in a chevron. Eagan, MN's version is tucked in a corner inside a BP. Best tacos in months! The birria, asada, and carnitas were all fantastic!
