"Located on Veterans Memorial Highway, this low-key Mexican restaurant features a stacked menu that includes everything from chimichangas, taco and enchilada plates to tortas, tostadas, bistec ranchero, and glass goblets filled to the brim with shrimp cocktails. For people who crave heat, make sure to order the diablo sauce for dipping chips and garnishing tacos. Wash it all down with a margarita." - Eater Staff

I love this place. I’ve come here a few times and it always feels very authentic, and the food is delicious at a decent price. The atmosphere isn’t for everyone, and i wish the bar was a bit less cramped, but the service is amazing and the food is really solid. Check out this massive beer lmao. Will definitely be back any time i’m in the area.

Google
We had the mango margarita and it came with a Taheen stick which was not shown on the picture menu. It looked like it was coagulated like the liquor was not mixing with the mango with it being on the rocks maybe if it was on the rocks it be better, but I prefer my drinks on the rocks. I wish I could say something better but my experience wasn’t so great so we just left The queso was a bit watery as well even when it thickened up it still looked a little thin

Google
The food is amazing!! The quesabirria tacos were perfect, the meat melts in your mouth and the tortillas are crispy! We stopped by after going to Six Flags, it was a short 8 minute drive and absolutely worth it!! You seat yourself and the servers are not in a hurry so be prepared to spend some time waiting, once we ordered the food came out quickly and hot. The music is loud but they have plenty of seating.

Google
This is officialy my favorite Spanish restaurant in this area ! So authentic and so good! Their guac is good! I ordered the veggie quesadilla tonight and no regrets omg! The veggie quesadilla is like no other they don't even compare to other popular spots! It has mushrooms, spinach, peppers, tomatoes, onion, cheese and zucchini in the veggie quesadilla! The rice is the BEST Spanish rice I've ever had idk how they make it lol. The pico de gallo is fresh. Service is nice. Saturday night there was someone singing some tunes in Español !

I love to eat at Solecito with my coworkers on our lunch break. The servers are great and the food is delicious but the two times I have made a pickup order I’ve always waited 45 minutes to an hour. I kept seeing food go out but my food didn’t come out until almost an hour! A manager didn’t even come apologize or anything. I am disappointed in the lack of urgency to get the orders online or through the phone fulfilled. I wish the carry out service was as a great as the dining in experience.

Google
The food was NOT good AT ALL ordered a kid's burger and solecito platter(plate whatever is called) First of all they got my drink wrong, I order guayaba and got Jamaica...... The food was brought to us and the first thing I tried were the frijoles charros .... Y'all..... They were so bad and watery , the chicken and the nopal were super dry and thin I almost lost them in the plate!!! My kid barely touched his burger and fries and that's saying something....once we were done TASTING the food we were done eating. Our plates were pushed to the side and we waited for a waitress to return so we could ask for the check, that took at least 15 minutes in a place were there were 4 tables occupied and 2 of those were right next to us.... Once we did get the check we noticed a "3 cc - fee" included which she later explained was a credit card fee after I asked ... We paid cash and were not charged the fee, however it again took my husband motioning the waitress over after 5-10 more minutes. If you're still here please let me recommend a much better restaurant about 3 minutes down called La Tecampana. Also special mention, the table behind us sent their food back TWICE...... Left 2 star for atmosphere only because it looked like they just expanded the restaurant......

Yelp
When you walk into a Mexican spot and you're the only one of non Spanish descent, chances are you're in for some awesome AUTHENTIC Mexican food lol. - This place does not disappoint! We had the shrimp and steak fajitas and margaritas. The food was amazing and the drinks were strong. Service was good as well. As far as ambiance goes, it was clean and comfortable. Highly recommend if you prefer a more authentic style Mexican over generic On The Border or other chains.

Berd J.

Yelp
Good was not good and poorly put together. Waitress were reluctant to take my order and was expensive. Not worth it.
google avatar

Sarah N.

Yelp
The restaurant is renovated to accommodate more guests and the menu has been expanded! New favorite is the Birria Tacos.

Sara G.

Yelp
food was okay. the pupusas are not good at all. took too long to just take our drinks. waited too long for our food and only checked on us once. we were not locals. this was our before back home meal and got us behind schedule.

Yelp
My favorite Mexican restaurant near my home. Authentic delicious food. From breakfast to dinner and more. Highly recommend to stop by. Customer service is spectacular. Great music and Mexican vibes.

Yelp
So far, so let me start by saying Mojito's Mojito's Mojito. I got mango Mojitos, peach, Mojitos, and strawberry Mojito's, and they were made like they were Mojitos. There was an option for spicy sauce and regular salsa and they both were delicious. if you don't like spicy, don't get a spicy salsa because a small amount goes a long way. The shrimp fajitas or amazing they came with a side of rice and beans and sour cream, lettuce, and pico. the Texas fajitas came as usual with steak, chicken and shrimp, but they allow for a substitution of chorizo for a steak. the Chiefs. It was good with jalapeños. The waiter was amazing and very attentive, and the ambience was great. the food was reasonably priced and had all of the Flavors that you need.

Yelp
I was craving Huevos Rancheros and found this place on yelp. The whole family loved everything. The food was authentic and delicious and this is our new go to Mexican spot. I can't wait to come back already. Authentic, clean, and delicious.

Yelp
I have been a loyal patron of this establishment for numerous years, consistently encountering instances where items were omitted from my orders, which I often overlooked. However, my patience reached its limit when this issue recurred recently. Upon expressing my concerns to the restaurant, I placed another order only to overhear their discussion, realizing they neglected my specific requests, presuming I didn't comprehend Spanish. Yet again, upon arriving home, the item was absent. It is perplexing how the establishment takes personal offense when I, as the paying customer, have consistently not received the items I have paid for over the years. This is not a solitary incident; it is a pattern. It is time for them to realize the gravity of their responsibility and conduct themselves with the professionalism expected in their line of work.

Yelp
Authentic Mexican food. Definitely Worth a visit or three. Always flavorful. An Austell favorite.

Yelp
My fave neighborhood authentic Mexican restaurant! We go here often and I'm stuck in the carne asada and barbacoa tacos. One day I'll try something different but those are my go-to for taco Tuesdays
google avatar

Bernadette E.

Yelp
Great menu and price is inexpensive. They have the best tasting shrimp cocktail I had in my life. Highly recommended! Server was very nice too and there was a live singer performing.

Cathi P.

Yelp
I've lived in the neighborhood for 15 years and have never had a bad meal. Food is authentic, delicious, generous portions and family friendly. I would highly recommend El Solecito to anyone who loves authentic Mexican food.

Yelp
Had dinner with my cousin and friend here last night. It's your typical Mexican eatery. No major bells or whistles happening, which to me, is a good sign...means the focus is in the food. There's a small parking lot in the front or the restaurant but additional parking is available in a lot next door. Service was kinda slow, but since we were running our mouths it was ok. I ordered the shredded chicken chimichanga, which came with Mexican rice, retried beans, lettuce and pico. The chicken was very well seasoned. The rice was a little bland and dried out but still edible. To drink I had the pina Aqua Fresca. Soooo good. My cousin and friend both had the chicken fajita quesadilla and said it was delicious. This place is located in Mableton, so if you're in that area def worth checking out. If I lived closer, I'd prob be a regular. Lol!

Yelp
This spot has quickly become my favorite Mexican Grille for Quesadillas! Both the Shrimp and Chicken Quesadillas are absolutely delicious and made to order. I didn't care for the guacamole because it was heavy on the cilantro and onions and lite on the avocado. Don't get distracted by the dive bar atmosphere. The food is good! There are a small number of parking spaces that are shared with a neighboring hair salon. I give this restaurant a solid A for quesadillas!
google avatar

Yelp
This place is quaint and a but hard to maneuver on a busy night. Parking is a bit limit, with a bit of a one way in and out situation. When you walk through the front door you are literally standing at someone's table. It's a bit uncomfortable because you're excusing yourself around the sitter guest to reach the register/kitchen entrance/ server Station. Regardless, the food is fresh and delish. I had queso con chorizo along with 4 tacos. Yes 4. 1 pastor, pollo, bistec y camarónes, all with tortillas de maíz, cebollas and cilantro. The verde sals is a bit spicy, but edible. The roja salsa is FIRE HOT! so proceed with caution. I definitely recommend giving this place a try next time you are in the area. Oh and the Horchata, is so good!
google avatar

Kammarah P.

Yelp
The food was SOOOOOO freaking good!!!! I was in the area and wanted a margarita...found this little gem. Fresh chips, fresh salsa, fresh guacamole. Excellent service. The food made to order and it came out fast. It was flavorful and the portions were perfect. The cook brought us out some diablo sauce and the heat was fire but it was delicious and added yet another layer of flavor to my meal. This is definitely worth a revisit, or 2 or 3 so if you are in the area try it.

Dawn M.

Yelp
Out for a quick lunch. We were seated quickly despite the place being almost packed. I ordered the beef chimichanga with no beans and a pineapple water. I asked for ground beef and got chopped up steak. It was flavored well but I didn't like the knife cuts as the beef was more chunk than ground. The rice was great and the green sauce had a kick but was flavorful. Worth a try if you're in the area.

Maria C.

Yelp
They suck the service is horrendous. The waitresses do not know what they're doing and it takes literally an hour for them to bring one plate out. They serve at one table one person at a time so everybody gets their plates separately 30 minutes apart I will never go there again. I hate that place, I do not recommend this place to anybody and the place feels like you're eating in a junkyard
google avatar

Madeline D.

Yelp
First time visit, food was very good large portions, good frozen Margaritas, salsa and guacamole. I had Spinach Enchiladas they were excellent. Today was Cinco de Mayo, servers had on Tshirts for the Holiday and the crowd was growing, other area places were packed. Glad we tried El Solecito Mexican Grill! Can't wait to return!!

Maria S.

Yelp
The food is good, but when they have live singing it is way too loud. You can't even have a conversation. They need to fix it to make it more comfortable for people. He don't need to be that loud!

Kory M.

Yelp
We are pretty much regulars at this point, everything and I mean everything on the menu is so good! Their tortillas are handmade, the sopes taste homemade, margaritas are top notch, and they always greet you with such kindness and are so welcoming like you are part of their family.

Brianna B.

Yelp
Honestly the best Mexican restaurant I've had in and out of the city. The food is really good, margaritas are strong, and well priced!! The staff is always so nice and fast!!
google avatar

Kellie S.

Yelp
Really good authentic Mexican food. Delicious!! Great atmosphere with live music. Service is excellent. Margaritas are nice and strong.

Lori C.

Yelp
Authentic and tasty Mexican food and you can't beat the prices. They have music some nights too.

Lance O.

Yelp
What a great surprise to discover this authentic Mexican place after church. The menu is complete with real dishes one doesn't find on the menus of more commercial Mexican restaurants in Atlanta. Everything is homemade and crafted with love. The staff made me feel like family. I had a breakfast option; so delicious! House-made tortillas were noteworthy. I cannot wait to return for more.
google avatar

Selina Q.

Yelp
Set my wife here for Mother's Day what a great vibe I love that they have options for inside seating and outdoor covered seating. The music was great the staff was very knowledgeable and helpful for our first visit. The food absolutely delicious no complaints there nothing I ordered could have possibly been better.
google avatar

Todd H.

Yelp
I had the seafood south and it was divine. My wife had the fajitas and they were also excellent. It's a small place with a small but well equipped bar. They have some decent tequila options, if that's your fancy. I had the Noble Oak Reposado, neat and found it quite enjoyable. We will certainly make another visit.

Nicole S.

Yelp
Food was very good, service outstanding and the karaoke option made an ordinary meal so much fun! Crowd was fun too.
google avatar

Serena T.

Yelp
We got take out of tacos with a side of rice and beans for girls night. -Tacos were delicious, my favorite was al pastor and fish. Asada was good too but it's a bit dry for me. -Lime, cilantro and onion were fresh which is always a plus! -Chips were crunchy but not too oily. - was moist, fits Mexican rice criteria. -Beans were very good!

Gloria H.

Yelp
Great food! Authentic! Loved! The sauce they use really makes the meal. Fresh and delicious!

Yelp
Food is amazing. Best Mexican Restaurant in all of Cobb County. Great service and food comes out quickly and savory!

Lauren M.

Yelp
Wonderful food and service! Give it a try if you have never been. I love thé cozy family atmosphere and authentic vibes. Sometimes there is a band playing off to the side in the restaurant.

Yelp
You know it's got to be a solid Mexican restaurant when you're the only patron here that isn't Mexican! We came here on a early Sunday afternoon and was able to grab a table right away. The atmosphere was festive with a live Mexican singer performing on the raised platform to the left of the entrance. The chips and salsa they served us shortly after were perfectly satisfying while we both hungrily scanned the menu. I landed on 3 tacos a la cart - carne asada, shrimp, and al pastor, with a horchata (Mexican spiced milk drink). My husband ordered steak fajita. We finished all the chips and salsa in no time and was promptly brought another round by the wait staff without having to ask. The horchata was very tasty and refreshing. I was tempted the order the larger size but am glad I didn't because it was somewhat filling. The tacos all had different flavors and were very good, especially when drizzled with the green sauce that came with them. The corn tortillas were fresh, light and tasty. They didn't fall apart like other ones I've had in the past. Just perfect. The al pastor taco was a bit more saucy than I expected but the flavor was fantastic! My husband's steak fajitas were equally as satisfying. He's had a lot of steak fajitas before but commented that this one was seasoned extremely well and flavorful. Over the course of the 45 mins we were there, the place went from having three tables to being completely filled up - and we now know why. We will definitely be back! I can't wait to try their churros next time!

Yelp
Loved the food! Went out with 3 friends to this location for my second time. I would say the only issue with this place is the limited parking and hit or miss staff. Our waitress this time looked to be very young. She did not check up on us but maybe once at the visit. I grabbed another employee to refill our water/chips/salsa more than 3 times because our waitress was no where to be found, which is odd considering how small the location is and there was only one other couple in the restaurant. However, the other lady was very helpful and the food was amazing. I will be visiting again!

Yelp
This is a casual Mexican grille with a few TVs and a small bar area. I came with a group of 6. They offer unlimited chips and salsa which is nice but the food is pretty mediocre overall. Menu: Very extensive which contains taco salads, chimichangas, tacos, enchiladas and more. Pro of this is that it offers an item for anyone who is in the mood for Mexican. They also have a bar and serve cold beer. Food: I consider it fairly mediocre. Not the place to go to if you are searching for a cool place to go to with very fresh tastes. Bottom-Line: Service was good- we were quick to choosing what we wanted and didn't ask much from the staff. I would come here for random take out if I was having a rough time choosing what to get and did not mind settling and try a random menu item.

Yelp
I came inside to order dinner to go. The person taking my order in person stopped in the middle and went back to talk to someone in the kitchen for a few minutes. I ordered steak fajitas for my wife. I told her several times to be sure to have rice, beans and lettuce/salad with the dinner she said she had it. When I got home, there was NO lettuce and a trace of rice and beans. There were NO tortillas, and I have never heard of anyplace doing fajitas without tortillas. Also there was NO salsa and no chips and salsa period. I am extremely disappointed with this restaurant and will go elsewhere next time. If you order food Togo check everything before leaving. The customer must do part of their work and pay an expensive price for the food.
google avatar

Kalvin F.

Yelp
So first off I will say that my says these are the best al pastor tacos she's ever had, and we lived in California for 20+ years. Their mixed fajitas are also really good. Unfortunately on more than one occasion they have made mistakes on my orders which obviously is annoying at times depending on what the issue was, examples like missing whole parts of the meal, or putting sour cream all over an item that I now can't scrape off. I can (have to) deal with some of these things because the tacos are so great, but no where on the take out menu does it say that there is mandatory gratuity of 15% on orders over a certain amount, that amount I am still not sure of. Tacking $10 onto my order when no one served me seems a bit insane. I know some of you reading this love to tip for everything and anything at a restaurant, I personally don't want to give away $10 when all someone did was swipe my card and hand food to me.
google avatar

Cliff K.

Yelp
The atmosphere is great, the menu was extensive and the food was really good. They had live music on the Friday night we were there. The musician had a great voice and could sing a wide selection in English and Spanish. I had the Asada burrito which I really liked. Not so thrilled about the Chile Relleno tacos. The pastor tacos were yummy!
google avatar

Michael S.

Yelp
Get anything with homemade corn tortillas -the tacos are great. The fajitas portion is huge and always on point. The people and the atmosphere and the music make it all even better - don't miss the Mexican karaoke on Sunday. One small issue, be forewarned that You will walk out smelling like Mexican food / fabuloso cleaning fluid.

L S.

Yelp
Quick, polite service and yummy food! We got in and out for lunch in a timely manner.

Yelp
I never ate here but here's five stars because everybody's a winner I believe in peace on earth and good will towards man... but not woman.... never woman.....
google avatar

Gwenn A.

Yelp
Authentic Mexican food. Delicious. For takeout it is Sad that they don't give free chips and salsa. And the fajitas did not come with tortillas. I have had far better papusa less dough. The veggie burrito and mixed fajita were great ! They give you lots of shredded lettuce with all your orders.
google avatar

Kimberly D.

Yelp
If you love authentic Mexican food then you will love El Solecito. My husband and I are from California and have grown up on some of the best Mexican food you can find. After exploring most of ATL's Mexican restaurants, El Solecito consistently delivers the freshest and most delicious food, we love them!
google avatar

Chenoa D.

Yelp
This place is amazing! Authentic Mexican food! Quick, delicious and inexpensive find..

Yelp
Very good Mexican food. I had a wonderful veggie quesadilla I truly enjoyed it and would like to go back soon.
google avatar

Toey F.

Yelp
Food was subpar. Not particularly flavorful as the Mexican food that I am used to eating. A little Americanized as well. But the bartender was nice and attentive. It's a one and done for me. I won't be back unless it's for drinks.

Gray S.

Yelp
I understand that due to Covid they may be short staffed, but the service was so slow tonight - only 5 tables to tend to and everything way longer than it should have.

Lorraine S.

Yelp
Walked in the customer service was absolutely horrible. No one spoke to us. They acted like we didn't exist. Walked out immediately. Don't spend your money somewhere where people ignore you.
