"Super Burrito makes San Francisco style burritos - which essentially just means that they’re cylindrical, wrapped in foil, and very good. They have a few varieties, as well as some bowls and quesadillas." - Andrew Steinthal

Ordered lengua, carnitas and al pastor tacos. Meats are decent, pastor has good flavor and pineapple. I did not like the thick, graininess of the tortilla chips (minus 1 star) and it doesn’t seem sanitary. Salsa bar is just so-so. Both salsas seem a bit too watery. Otherwise, clean and simple. Service and atmosphere ordinary.

Absolutely GROSS!! Disgusting!! Fish was raw! Beef was fridge-cold! Place was a mess with overflowing trash cans littering this disgusting joint! Tables covered in grease and trash all over the floor…at 4 pm already…..that’s really promising!! 3 mini tacos for 16 dollars, highway robbery!! I’m still puking, food poisoning is a mere assumption here. Please close this place up. This is a health hazard.

I came here after inspecting one of the clinics in the area, and I was really hungry. It really wasn't the greatest experience. The cook was really nice when he had brought out my order to my table, but the lady taking the order and the lady cleaning the tables were a little bit rude. Maybe they had a rough morning, which is very plausible in a food service establishment, so it may just be that. The food was okay. They had generous portions, and it didn't taste bad. I had asked for corn tortillas, but they gave me flour tortillas. The chips and salsa were served buffet style where you have to grab some yourself. In the age of COVID, this may not be the best. The chips tasted like the store-bought ones in a bag; they weren't good ones either. The place could be cleaner. The time that I was there, there were a lot of customers who came to order take-out. They seemed popular with other customers. For me, though, there are a few opportunities for improvement for them. I most likely will not come back.

Google
Excellent Mexican food on a budget. Any burrito with meat or vegan options with guacamole for less than 11$. We also enjoyed a torta and that came with cheese. Authentic food here and everyone here speaks excellent Spanish and English. Very kind and supportive of their community. I wish I can give 5 more stars. Thank you.

Google
Have been eating here for many years. The hours aren't always reliable (they close MUCH earlier than the hours indicate sometimes--call ahead) but the food is great and the people are friendly. Prices are appropriate.

Google
delicious food, generous amount, excellent customer service and good prices what else can you ask?!! our favorite place to eat while in vacations here on San Francisco , 5☆

Google
Great California Burrito and salsa bar! I especially enjoyed the spicy red salsa. Good music too. Would definitely return!

Google
The burritos here will for sure put the burritos at Chipotle to shame. There is a wide array when it comes to choosing food here. The service was okay, but the food doesn't take too long to be made. The meat topping - grilled chicken, was a bit too salty for my taste in my jumbo burrito. If I were to go with no meat and everything else, the burrito would had tasted better. This place is ideal for a quick bite or take-out, you can't go wrong.

Yelp
Love this place..... it will be a "go to" for us when in our San Francisco digs. Onoliscious vegetarian options..... I loved my tostada, and we also had a vegetarian burrito. I'd been craving a vegetarian tostada for so long! Both were exactly what we were hoping for. The chips were self serve, and a salsa bar. And they were good! The cashier was really nice, as was the cook. Friendly and kind. The place is colorful, and the music perfect. Lots of seating. What more can I say....... Exactly what we'd hoped for..... and the prices were very reasonable.

Mimi B.

Yelp
It was my first time here I ordered beef fajitas. It was fresh and delicious. The young lady that was working there also was super nice and friendly. She was welcoming everyone

Irene C.

Yelp
I'm picky and the cook gets it just right. Simple. Also try their aqua Fresca. Polk street, Lower Nob Hill. Support small taquerias!!!

Yelp
After many years passing by, I decided to give it a try. Now it's quickly become one of my new fav Mexican restaurants in San Francisco. I've tried their California burrito, Al pastor, caldo de res, pozole,... darn! Flawless so far. Their selection of salsas is pretty impressive as well. Im not a big fan in general of carnitas but theirs is the only one I can say I've liked (that's a huge compliment). It's affordable and staff is pretty nice. I recommend this spot 100%

Xochitl C.

Yelp
Yummy! Best local mexican spot - always tasty and friendly staff. Food is authentic, and delicious.

Lauren P.

Yelp
Sad this place used to be great. Now they forget ingredients and charge $14 for a sad little breakfast burrito.

Marlon O.

Yelp
This business offers a discount of 3.85% if you pay cash. Be careful with this "deal," as after handing the cashier $20, I was shorted $5 in change. After bringing this to their attention, the cashier claimed I was lying (over $5) and the cook began looking at me like he wanted a problem that would not have worked out in his favor. I think this is deserving of a "1-star" review.

Toph F.

Yelp
I should've known better! I live in the neighborhood, and this place used to be so good. The last time I tried it was over a year ago, hoping the quality had changed. Nope!! It's still disgusting! I ordered a super burrito, and there is no super about it. Barely any meat, and I don't think she even cooked the meat. I didn't see her grill it; the burrito was lukewarm, but the foil was hot. I took a bite; it was gross! Save your money, this place has become a dump! What happened? Go somewhere else!

Rubens T.

Yelp
Great breakfast burritos, quesadillas at a fair price. If you're looking for something good at a reasonable price and fast I highly recommend this spot.

Julio Z.

Yelp
I am so sorry to have to write this review, after years of going there, today was a huge disappointment! It's not cheap there , but the wet surf and turf super burrito was awful. The chicken was tough, as well as the shrimp. The shrimp was rubbery! I spent a lot of money for my family, mine was not good.

Jose P.

Yelp
Ordered a super burrito, carne asada. Tastes great, but it's small to me. I make bigger burritos at home. The size would be the only issue for me. Nice taqueria, clean. Self serve salsa and chips. Tastes are great! When the lady handed me the bag and I seen the size of it, I was disappointed. Add more ingredients please!!

Nicholas k.

Yelp
Writing this review on behalf of my cousin who does not speak English very well. He recently went there and order some tacos for take out on 5/4/23. Went to eat it at work, took a bite and realized something weird and felt solids. He looked inside the taco and saw a bunch of metal pellets Like how does this happen? Why does it look like BB gun pellets? Absolutely disgusting. We told him to not throw it away and go back to the resturant the next day to complain. Show them the picture, and the food. The resturant denied it and said they don't have that kind of stuff there. They gave him a refund but still, this is a health hazard. How in the world can some metal pieces be found in the food? What if a child ate this? They child could choke and even worst, die. Avoid this resturant at all cost.

Yelp
I stopped by El Super Burrito for lunch. I came by before with a coworker in 2022 and really enjoyed the food (the chipotle shrimp burrito is the bomb!!) and the service that that time. I was overdue to return for some good Mexican grub. I ordered the regular quesadilla meat, my choice of meat being shrimp for $3 more. It was perfectly hot, cheesy, with nice sized shrimp. I also ordered a side of (black) beans and rice. The rice was unseasoned and very dry, which was disappointing. The black beans were pretty tasty and made up for the rice. It has a little cheese on top, which was a nice touch. I ordered what I believe is a medium size (the cup was kind of tall for a small) of Horchata. I ordered it the last time I was here and really enjoyed it. Today, it tastes just I had remembered. Sweet! The staff are friendly and are very quick about getting your food served to you. I had time to eat in, and sat at a table next to a window. During lunch time, it's surprisingly easy to find an empty table. Which is always a win. The inside of the restaurant is bright and colorful with little Mexican flag colored paper decorations hanging from the ceiling. It makes for a fun place to eat. Thanks for lunch El Super Burrito!!

Becky K.

Yelp
No. Just no. Carne asada super burrito. Where was my meat? $15 after tipping, it was to go, I didn't even get chips and salsa since I was taking public transportation home and didn't want to carry it in my purse. There are no excuses for this place, now I wish I had read the reviews prior to visiting this establishment but I always like to make my own judgments. I honestly can't believe how bad this "burrito" was. Hands down one of the worst taquerias I've ever been to, actually might be the absolute worst in my 38 years of life enjoying burritos all over the country - and I lived in middle of nowhere Illinois that had a better burrito than this. It's strange to se so many people saying how good the place is, I'm assuming they are not aware of how good so many other places are, or they are friends with the owners/employees and just hyping them up to raise their rating. I'm literally on the phone with my bank to dispute the charge for this atrocious meal. Not good, I don't recommend to anyone and will never try this place again. Maybe the local bars help keep it going because they get the customers drunk enough to tolerate the food.

Monterey C.

Yelp
Delicious Vegetarian Burrito with breakfast potatoes. Even came with crema Chips and salsa yummy

Niall M.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I and her roommate collectively place 10 orders here per week. It is staple, it is stable, it is super.

Kim T.

Yelp
So glad we stumbled upon this place! After a night out in San Fran, you definitely need some menudo. We ordered and received our food fairly quickly. It was so freaking good did not disappoint! It was made to the utmost perfection. The meat itself was cooked very well, and not too chewy. The michelda was also mixed very well. Not too much tomato juice. The only downside was not having any napkins around us. We did eventually get some once we asked. A small place with a lot of personality. Clean for the most part. We will be coming back next time we are in the city.

Andrea G.

Yelp
3.5 stars. We went here today for a quick meal. Their menu is pretty extensive with a ton of meat options. I ended up ordering the chipotle shrimp burrito. This comes with rice, beans, guacamole, pico de Gallo, cheese and sour cream. While the burrito is filling, I did feel that it was a little on the salty side. I also ordered their cantaloupe agua fresca, which was not too sweet but very refreshing. At the other end of the restaurant, they also have a mini salsa and chips bar. You can load up on as much chips and salsa and pickled jalapeños as you like. I do recommend this place if you're in the neighborhood and in need of a quick lunch. The food is ready pretty fast.

Jasmine N.

Yelp
Solid place for a burrito! I got the Super Burrito with al pastor and it did not disappoint. Being from San Jose I was wondering where all of the good mexican places would be in San Francisco and so glad I ran into this place. There is a salsa and chip bar which I am a big fan of, and the al pastor meat had this great marinade that dripped throughout the burrito - might be grease, might be the secret spices going on there. I want to try their sopas next time, will come back!

Raymund H.

Yelp
Our company wanted mexican food for lunch so I recomemded this place since it was near work and I've gone here twice before.. their food is good but not the greatest compare to El Farolito and San Jose from 24th & Mission St. Great food overall!! I also decided to post a review because their Yelp prices were never updated. Overall experience was great and the lady at the register who took our big order was great and she was patient with us even though the line grew because of our order..

Will T.

Yelp
services was fast ambiance was simple and inviting and the food was awesome....definitely worth trying!

Igor B.

Yelp
Get the huevos rancheros. Havent found another place that makes them as good as they do.

Daniel F.

Yelp
Complete rip off. I got a super burrito and a beer. Beer was fine, Burrito was mostly rice. Left an 18% tip even though I ordered to go. Very dissatisfied with my almost $30 dollar experience. Don't get burned like me. Avoid this place. Why! I live near here and would have eaten here once or twice a week. I just don't understand barely any meat or sour cream, cheese, or even beans. WTF? I work in the industry I know what things cost. I got taken advantage of. Never again Super Burrito. Very very dissatisfied.

Eric H.

Yelp
. My meal was awesome! Had shrimp with tortillas. Spicy as heck, just the way I like it! Had a quart of Corona to wash it down.

Albert Paris S.

Yelp
I moved to SF 15 years ago and I remember trying this place that long ago but never truly decided to go back. Well this morning I stopped by and regret heading back, ordered a breakfast plate with eggs and chorizo, got a horchata and that grants you a tiny plastic cup for salsa and a paper bowl ish for their stale chips. (I was immediately reminded why I never went back). Food was okay, horchata lacked flavor and the place started getting busy while I was there. It's a quick grab and go kind of place so I wasn't expecting top level customer service, it is what it is. But after a few hours I paid the consequences of my visit and got super sick. Sick enough to cancel my plans for dinner later. I won't be going back.

Stuart B.

Yelp
My wife and I love this place, it was our regular go to. The food is great, authentic, reminds me of childhood.

David D.

Yelp
This is a decent Mexican restaurant. The prices were reasonable and the food was tasty enough. Totally worth a visit if you're in the area and crave Mexican food.

Jaq O.

Yelp
My go-to place for tacos in the area. Their salsas are REALLY good--my favorite is the habanero, though please note that it's spicy!

Nathan L.

Yelp
Lowkey one of the best taqueria's in sf. You have to try the lingua tacos here. It's fried and insanely good. Al pastor tacos are also great.

Rachele S.

Yelp
I come here all the time and have never had a problem before today. The food is great totally. Bit they gave me 2 containers for salsa and other condiments. When I asked for a third, mind you a plastic very small container they said $.85 , I can't with. this Nicole and dining everywhere you go! Next you'll have to pay for plastic wear and napkins!

Dean N.

Yelp
Supposed to be a carnitas burrito, but really missing pork. Tastes like fried chicken, definitely oil had chicken fried and that wipes out any other flavor. They are usually so great, but this time they seem to have a new cook. Never saw her there before. I still want to recommend as a fantastic Polk St option... hopefully this was a one in one hundred mistake.

Kevin O.

Yelp
I'm always looking for a good burrito and this place has them. 1. Heft size, lots of meat and fillings. 2. Excellent chips in the back of the place with three types of sa;sa. The chips are better than most, being thicker so they don't break easily when you scoop up some salse. Overall, a good meal at a fair price. Recommended!

Katherine S.

Yelp
Nothing fancy here: it is good grub, close to work. The burritos are indeed super (they are big), and there was plenty of fillings (no skimping on crema here). Counter service was friendly and kind. Lots of tables if you are not grabbing and going, but it is definitely not fancy. Utilitarian and delicious.

Jen C.

Yelp
Teacher training in San Francisco made us hungry for a burrito! Recommended by a co-worker, no line when we got there! All of a sudden people walked in a flush. Relieved we came before the rush Ordered a Chimichanga, WOWAWEEEWAHHHHH! Damn, it was HUMONGOUS! It grew on me like a fungus. A truckload of shrimp in the filing, You bet it was thrilling! Deliciously crispy outside "A fried burrito!" someone replied. Topped with salsa, guac, and sour cream OH man, I just wanna scream! Service was pretty quick Gave my order to a nice chick. My food was ready fast I was completely aghast! Maybe cuz time flies, but that's not really a surprise. Engrossed in conversation You know, teachers are all about collaboration! Bummed this place is far from my hood. Is it worth it to drive far for a Chimichanga that's really good?!?! .

Kevin B.

Yelp
I feel like any burrito place or even Mexican place in general is great. El Super Burrito does not fail to deliver either. The food is delicious, the choices are abundant and the portions are tremendous. And so worth it for the price. That being said, I don't think it's necessarily better than any other local burrito joint. If you're around Lower Nob Hill and want a lot of food for a decent price, this is a good option.

Ada C.

Yelp
Popped in for lunch and got the veggie burrito. It was tasty and pretty much what you'd expect. They give you free tortilla chips and there's a salsa bar. There are a lot of Mexican workers showing up at lunchtime which is a good sign. I'd love to know what the local favorite dish is!

Chris H.

Yelp
Solid casual Mexican fare at very reasonable prices. Great and convenient option for anyone in the neighborhood that doesn't want to travel down to the mission for their burrito fix.

Erika M.

Yelp
Best burrito in town! I am Jalisco too! It's rare to see my people out here! It's kinda mess up that someone broke the window where I was eating at! We are known for the tequila and the mariachi! I am a social worker here in the city I work with the most vulnerable population the homeless and it's sad that I am being targeted and so is my friends who are from where I am from! Please support them! I used to be in the fashion industry in 2010 that's when I first went there! Now my life is different and I would hope people can the change I am doing in this where people are dying.

Priscilla A.

Yelp
The women in the front was extremely rude and had a smart a** response when I asked her what the difference in the small and large quesadillas (meaning what's the difference inside) she responded with "uhhh small or large ?" And continued to roll her eyes. The entire interaction she looked super annoyed and didn't wanna serve us. So we ordered and rushed out of there. When we got the food my quesadilla was poorly handled and just overall oily and messy. I couldn't even hold it up before it torn in pieces. I wouldn't suggest coming here. Poor and I mean VERY poor customer service and 2/10 food. Do better!!

Anastasia N.

Yelp
Very decent Mexican food. I honestly expected better based on the reviews and the location. While staying at CPMC for the birth of my child, my husband finally had in and out privileges of getting food (yay pandemic)! I was craving a burrito and rushed him over to this place. Here's what not to get: wet super veg burrito. Although the wet sauce covered my burrito, the inside was super dry. He asked for little rice and the burrito was ALL rice and barely anything else. The sauce covering the burrito was pretty spicy, which surprised me because a) ask the level of spicy one would like and b) give options like many other taqueria spots so. My husband said the staff was super friendly, the place was clean and there was a pretty long line. Perhaps I just didn't order the right thing?

James D.

Yelp
Was not expecting too much coming to El Super last night, but was impressed when I got home and ate my burrito. El Super offers chips and a full salsa bar which is a nice touch. Additionally, their menu is fairly expansive and even includes breakfast options. I ended up ordering the chipotle shrimp burrito, which was fantastic! They nailed the chipotle taste while also packing it with various other burrito mix-ins such as rice, beans, guacamole, salsa, cheese and sour cream. I ended up saving half of the burrito for lunch the next day and it reheated well and still tasted good. Will definitely head to El Super next time I am craving Mexican!

Jacob G.

Yelp
The bomb! I want one right now. Cali Burrito was on point. Steak was perfect. Guac perfect. Sanitation not so much but the heck with it. I didn't get sick but they could use some sanitation training. Place wasn't busy. Girl brought me my burrito. I love self serve salsa/ the salsas were almost empty and the station itself was filthy. But the burrito was soooooo good

Caitlin P.

Yelp
Stumbled in here after a night on the town because we were absolutely starving. Mexican food always seems to hit different at night and when you've had a few drinks lol. Our friends bc said these were the best burritos in town so we had to give it a go. I got the super bbq chicken burrito and this thing was bomb. The chicken was :* (chefs kiss). And all the rest of the toppings were super good too. We also got the chips and salsa! It was nice because they had an entire bin of chips where you could refill you basket and get more salsa. So it's definitely worth the money to get unlimited chips and salsa. Next time I'm out on the town in that area, I will forsure be making a stop at El Super Burrito before coming home.

Laura T.

Yelp
Food is always good I just wish they wouldn't serve store bought tortilla chips. Also don't use the water out of the Coleman container on the counter. Just witnessed an unhoused person who had just been previously scratching themselves only to then come in and get water. I usually just get my food to go

Paul L.

Yelp
I challenge anyone to find a better bang for buck taqueria in the entire city. It's just as cheap and delicious as el farolito, but what puts it past them is the incredible service from the women working there - especially Luz and Elizabeth (I don't know the others or I'd name them too)! Bonus points for free chips and salsa. if you live in nob hill/pac heights do not sleep on this spot

Todd B.

Yelp
A neighborhood amenity. This place may not make an Esquire magazine best-of list (if that's still a thing) but the food is consistently excellent, and they're friendly too! Spend your money here. COVID safety protocols are solid.

Andrew H.

Yelp
The Polk Gulch neighborhood taqueria. My go to order lately has been the Flautas plate that comes with three fried taquitos, rice and beans. A lot of room for improvement for this location , yet, when I'm craving Mexican food, this hits the spot.

Chris B.

Yelp
Some of the best mexican food in the city. Their burritos are solid. And their combo plates are fine dining mexican food quality.

Emmanuel A.

Yelp
Meat doesn't taste fresh or good quality. The place is very dirty. Wouldn't return.
