"I noticed El Sur is also named as one of the remaining businesses at 300 De Haro that could be affected when the site is redeveloped." - Paolo Bicchieri
You got a good quantity of food for the money. However, I found much of it to be pretty ordinary tasting as if it was cooked with little to no spice at all. I understand low/no sodium isn't going to be the same as super salty but it doesn't mean it can't have Mexican oregano, a little Cheyenne pepper, a little lime juice and perhaps some fajita seasoning. Excellent service, friendly place just kind of bland Mexican food. I had fish tacos, sampler platter and guacemole dip. I didn't want it to be a 3 alarm fire but maybe some additional spices at the table would have been nice to put a little more zip to beautifully presented plates.

They are getting 5 stars for their food since it is hard to find a Mexican restaurant that serves enchiladas planas (flat enchiladas) that taste close to what my MIL used to make a little thicker and they'd be right on. They even accommodated to gives us fresh onions instead of cooked, (just needed the black olives was all). The margaritas are pretty good as well especially the mango one. But my review is about the flat(planas) enchiladas and they are GOOD. Best time to go is around 4pm and 430pm otherwise they fill up quickly.

Year after year, from one visit to the next, this unpretentious little restaurant consistently serves up some of the finest Mexican food available anywhere. The chiles rellenos are easily among the best in Tucson, with the fish tacos & Enchiladas Del Sur as additional standouts. Service & attentiveness are first-rate, & the complimentary onions & hot peppers are a nice touch not readily found elsewhere. Parking & seating can be tight during busy times, especially on weekends. One visit will quickly demonstrate why.

I came here with a group from work to celebrate some birthdays. It wasn't too busy at 1100, but it picked up very quickly. Service was excellent. Our server, Maria, was friendly and knowledgeable about specials and options for the meals, and the food was delicious and came out reasonably quickly. I had the chile rellenos, and one of my coworkers had the massive chimichanga, which he highly recommends for the next time I visit. I'll be back again!
