Food is good but the environment isn’t very clean.

I have visited this place for the last 20 yers and I have tried their pozole, tacos, menudo, juices, etc. The quality and taste of the food has always been top notch. Also, the place is well kept & organized. The employees have worked there for a long time and they always serve you in a efficient, attentive, and efficient manner. Another thing I like is that rain or shine they open their doors every day 6 in the morning.

Russ L.

Google
This place is fire 🔥! Freshly cooked asada, chorizo, pollo, but it's all about the crispy tripas and buche. All came on a big and warm homemade tortillas. Perfectly paired well with the strawberry fresco. Perfect Taco Tuesday.

My childhood place to eat with my family. I stopped coming after a while since the food quality went down a lot and the tortillas where disgustingly dry however I recently came back after like 6 or so years along with my boyfriend. We were both surprised how good the food was! Even came back a second time and now I'll be coming back more often.

Google
I used to love coming here to eat, but the last few times I have visited, there's always an issue with the food for me. The quality just isn't what it used to be. Either that, or they are purposely giving me the scraps which clearly says to me that you dont want me there. Message loud and clear. They dont have to worry about me ever returning again. I just got upset when I was reminded of my last experience a few days ago. I didn't leave a review then, but I have time today. Anyway, I believe it was either Monday or Tuesday. If the cashier or the cook reads this, then they will know I am telling the truth because they will remember. I ordered a Carnitas burrito with verde sauce cut in half. From past experience, I know to stay there and watch them prepare my food. Whenever I haven't, they would always leave something off that I paid extra for .. like cheese for example, or cilantro and onion...Just little stuff like that..so anyway as the cook is placing the meat in the flour tortilla, from where I was standing it looked like big chunks of fat. I thought I was tripping and didn't want to make an issue, so I said nothing...Maybe it was just once piece and I can pick it out once I get it. This is what I justified in my mind...No problem. So I get to the car, opened my bag, and notice the napkins stuffed in the bag are greasy. Luckily I had him cut the burrito in half, because I was instantly able to see that was something I didn't want to bite into. It almost made my stomach turn. I pulled out 3 big chunks of fat.. absolutely no meat on those pieces..Just straight thick fat chunks. Like why would you mix that in a customer's burrito? You cannot convince me that this wasn't intentional, because he can clearly see the meat he puts on the grill.. He just didnt give a crap, and has no integrity about treating all customers right..I calmly go back inside and spoke with the cashier and showed her what I pulled out. She then goes on to explain that carnitas has fat on it.. I said "ma'am come on..you know good and well, Carnitas doesn't come with chunks of fat like this, and you know u would not eat this. The whole burrito is full of grease. She offered to make another, but I declined. There is no way, I would ever trust that cook preparing anything for me ever again. They have lost my business forever. I'm sure they dont care.. but I hope this review helps the next person. Pay attention to your food before you leave. I will say this, The owner has always been kind to me over the years, so I don't want to bash him at all. I'm not sure if he was there or not. I didn't even think to ask for him so that I could explain the situation because there was no point as far as I was concerned. His cook caused him to lose a customer.

Google
First time coming here, the service was great and the food was delicious, I ordered an asada sope and lengua taco and tripas doradas taco. The tacos are full sized tortillas so careful when ordering or you'll order way too much.

Google
Love the authenticity of the food and the selection is awesome. Definitely a loud locals mostly place but the Tostada Mixta is to die for. If you are used to commercial grade Mexican Food this is not the place most if not all the food is made from scratch. Clean bathrooms and kid friendly environment is worth the daylight trip. Great place to cater food from and hold a loud festive event. #LetsGuide

Yelp
This place used to be good but no good quality anymore. Found a hair in my burrito absolutely disgusting .

Yelp
I used to come here a lot when I was younger, especially as a teen, since it was one of my dad's favorite spots. I hadn't been in a while, but I had the chance to return recently and see if it was still the same as I remembered. The Food: The menu is extensive, offering a wide variety of Mexican classics. You'll find everything from menudo and pozole to tortas, burritos, and tacos. For proteins, they have the usual options like asada, pollo, al pastor, and carnitas, but they also serve cabeza, lengua, tripas, and sesos. It might feel a little overwhelming at first, but trust me, it's worth it. My go-to order has always been either the torta de asada or the quesadilla de asada. I know it's the safe choice, but they're my comfort food, so I stick with them. On my most recent visit, I had the quesadilla de asada, which came as a combo with beans and rice. I'll be honest, it was a lot of food. Maybe my teenage self could have finished it all, but as an adult, I ended up sharing because I knew I couldn't finish it. The quesadilla itself was great! It was a little greasy, but cheesy, crispy in all the right places, and just a solid choice overall. The beans were good, but the rice was a bit bland. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt though--I'm really picky about red rice. It wasn't inedible, but it didn't quite have that homemade touch. The Atmosphere: The atmosphere hasn't changed at all. Aside from a fridge with desserts by the register, it's still a comfortable space with plenty of seating and lots of natural light. The Service: Service is pretty standard for a taco spot--quick and efficient.

Yelp
This place has been around for so many years, the food is delicious and their hand made tortillas are fantastic! I especially like their tacos! They also have very good agua frescas. I highly recommend this place, come and try it out .
google avatar

Dania M.

Yelp
What happened to this place?! This used to the be the IT spot. I ordered enchiladas today....Since when do authentic Mexican enchiladas have tomatoes and bell peppers pieces inside the enchiladas?! At least the tortilla was handmade still. The red sauce tasted canned. The red rice had no flavor whatsoever. Not sure if it's change of management or cooks but ...Truly disappointed.

Lizbet F.

Yelp
google avatar

Loren V.

Yelp
I've eaten here a handful of times with my parents. Can't go wrong with tasty Mexican food. A big restaurant with lots of tables. The food is authentic and the service is quick. try it!
google avatar

David B.

Yelp
The food is awesome here. Your money goes a long way and the tacos with home made tortillas are delicious.

Jake N.

Yelp
Always come here for the burritos or tacos. Food is straight fire from the tortillas they use to the salsa. Highly recommend for anyone looking for authentic tasting Mexican food
google avatar

Alma R.

Yelp
disgusting. have been coming here my entire life with family and friends. have always had amazing service and great food. but upon the last visit, my mom and aunt ordered 2 caldos. A ball of hair in one and a rubber band typically found in vegetable bunches in the other. My mom and aunt are older mexican women who are shy in situations that warrant confrontation. So i was not aware of this until we got home, but they didn't finish their meals and my dad who usually gets a burger because its something he can easily eat after having had a stroke, couldn't bite into it because it was so hard.
google avatar

Ray H.

Yelp
Food is ok! I was going home and stopped here for the asada tacos. I got 5 and ate 3 and 2 the next day. Make sure if you eat the tacos get enough for that day. Holding them over night in the fridge the next day the tortillas don't taste so great! Almost to the point i would just eat the meat inside and throw the tortillas away. Good customer service at the window. They have a few outside seating/no inside yet. Scary area after 8pm on that part of magnolia so be careful and alert. Not as good as before when they had the full kitchen going but it gets the job done.
google avatar

Lisa I.

Yelp
I don't think their food is that delicious. I feel it's the most popular spot in the Washington neighborhood community and the best place to go to after a night out. The tacos 7.5/10, burritos 7.5/10. The green juices 8.5/10. I like that they have many foods available pozole, tacos, sea food. There are a lot of table available, and you don't want to long on getting your food
google avatar

Jesse P.

Yelp
Shrimp size are small in the burrito, asada burrito was 3.5/5.0. Although I came here once one early morning for an asada burrito and I thought it was the best I had. This place is definitely a 3.5 star.
google avatar

Hazel G.

Yelp
Yesterday I ordered a carnitas burrito and it was pretty unsatisfactory. The rice, beans and pork were dry and unrecognizable. The guacamole and pico were tasteless. The salsa verde that was given to me on the side was also tasteless. The asada burrito was ok, so, one star for the mediocre meal. Years ago this location was the place to go...no longer the case! Red flag when it only took them less than a minute to give me my order. Never again!

Mauricio U.

Yelp
The meat was a little greasy, with gristle on it still. The entrance from my the parking lot is a little strange too.
google avatar

Eliseo Z.

Yelp
This place serves the best tacos I've ever had the service is friendly and quick. It's definitely a traditional Mexican restaurant with a great vibe !! Try a vampiro so bomb

Elizabeth F.

Yelp
Delicious authentic Mexican food always hit the spot. Open early and late nights Parking is a little bit of an issue, but worth the wait and the trouble.
google avatar

Alfredo V.

Yelp
I would not recommend these place food is terrible. You'll be better getting street tacos from a canopy... Tbh I would have gave you 0 star but don't have the option
google avatar

Yelp
Great spot, found while doing laundry. March 18 at 8:39am Greeted immediately Following all COVID 19 precautions. Friendly staff Affordable prices Fresh food (about 12 minute wait) Clean establishment Big waiting area for to go orders. Fast paced service Great portions Very good experience at this establishment. They have the same quality as other restaurants but with lower prices. For that reason, this will be my new spot to satisfy my Mexican food cravings.
google avatar

Rose R.

Yelp
Great authentic Mexican tacos! Carne asada are my favorite. This is the real deal, love their tacos!
google avatar

Lisa F.

Yelp
We gave this spot a chance as someone said their tripa tacos were crispy and delicious. So disappointing! First of all the tripa was NOT cleaned. They were some what crispy but the tortilla made it all the worse.. oversized and too thick. Not a place we will return to.
google avatar

Kevin K.

Yelp
Chicken quesadilla was delicious when eaten right away. But the carne asada burrito was a fail -- the asada was way too salty and overpowered everything in the burrito. Tried covering the sodium with limon and the verde sauce but it was still unbearable to eat. Friend said the fish and shrimp tacos were really good
google avatar

Tiffany S.

Yelp
Local 24 hour Mexican restaurant. I found this gem in the not so greatest neighborhoods of Long Beach, but the food is worth it. Parking is scarce and is usually full. If the spots are full, people will start making up their own parking spots in inconvenient spots surrounding you, so be careful. As they might hit your car, or you might hit theirs. The food is great. I normally get the ceviche tostadas which also comes with a side of chips and salsa. My babes will get one of them breakfast dishes. We roughly spend about $20 there which is a steal. Bring cash to tip as you pay as you order, but they still serve you at your table. Customer service is great, hasn't had an issue, even with the language barrier.

Yelp
El taco loco is crazier than thinking Donald J. Trump is sexy and fit. Enough said 47

Yelp
Mi ama dice no bueno No hype I'll give this place food wise and flan wise 2 out out 5
google avatar

Amir P.

Yelp
Really nice place! I come for lunch about 3x's a week to get the same ..... veggie burrito and large horchata. Lately the burrito has been a little off... but overall a nice spot. The gentleman that hands you the order is very kind and professional.
google avatar

Gift O.

Yelp
They were open early. We ordered around 730 and got our food within 10 mins. Got an egg and chorizo breakfast burrito and steak breakfast burrito . It was a good serving and we both were pleased with our meals. Wasn't the best breakfast burrito I've had but I would definitely eat here again. We also had a natural juice. They juice the fruits and veggies right there which was really nice
google avatar

Ian M.

Yelp
I'm not sure if they're under new management or.... what. In a strange turn of events they have started charging extra for hand made tortillas which used to be the only real draw to eating here - and they don't explain that to you when ordering, so make sure to tell them if you want that. Other than the tortillas, most things here are sub par. The meats aren't noteworthy. I think they also charge for salsa which is super weird. Idk, it just wasn't a great time last time I came here. Really weird how much they changed in the last few years. I don't think I'll be back.
google avatar

Shoaib A.

Yelp
Well I think I did a review on this before. Simply the best tacos ever. This place is on 24 hours so you can't miss it. It's close to long beach is it's perfect. There key ingredient is their hot sauce, which I think can make any taco sing. Huge places slots of smoothie and breakfast dishes as well.
google avatar

Eva R.

Yelp
So yummy!!! Very reasonably priced as well. We had a breakfast burrito and carne asada burrito. Definitely will eat here again and prob get the same things and try some other items.

Yelp
One of the best Mexican restaurants in Long Beach. Located in a sketchy residential area, this homestyle taqueria is clean but rough around the edges. The interior is spacious, with plenty of seating. You order at the counter, where an enormous menu displays an impressive variety of classic cuisine, along with fresh made to order juices (jugos), and even desserts. Dinner for two with fresh juice came to just $20. They accept all major credit cards. I got the Burrito Vegetariano, made vegan by omitting the cheese and sour cream. I ordered it wet, with rojo sauce. Stuffed to the brim, the tortilla encased perfectly spiced pinto beans and red rice, with the freshest pico de gallo I have ever tasted. Ripe, chunky guacamole was evenly distributed throughout. The fresh tomato rojo sauce on top was partially absorbed into the tortilla and added another layer of flavor to every bite. This was easily one of the best burritos I have ever eaten. My boyfriend (who has been coming here for over 20 years) recommends their Ceviche and Al Pastor tacos. We shared a Vampiro jugo, which is a fresh, made to order juice blend containing beet, carrot, and orange. It was delicious, and a generous portion for $4. I look forward to returning.

Yelp
Hands down best Mexican spot in southern Cali! I've been coming here since I was a kid, the Tortas are AMAZING! The carne asada is always tender and super flavorful. Oh and don't let me forget about their breakfast burrito, literally the best breakfast burrito I have ever had in life! + The service is always great. Thanks Taco Loco for always staying open and always providing the best in Mexican food!
google avatar

Carmen C.

Yelp
It's been a while since I have been back but man just walking in Sunday morning and getting the smell of menudo and delicious Mexican food was enough to make my mouth water. I came in for some of their jugos naturales. Which are made as promoted fresh in front of you, I love that! Too bad my mom was making breakfast at home and I was just coming to pick up drinks otherwise I would have picked up some food, menudo maybe with the freshly hand made tortillas! Must remember to come back another time.
google avatar

Joy A.

Yelp
Dude. I came here because my friends know about this gem. Open 24 hours tucked away in the hood, yes please! Freshly made tortillas. The caldo de res is ON POINT! I'd say its one of the best I ever had filled with tender beef, bone marrow, generous on the veggies and the broth! OMG, you can tell they have been cooking and reducing the broth for hours. Be brave if you order the Chamango. It burned my face off. Yea... fruit that is spicy. haha!
google avatar

Mike B.

Yelp
Yup, yup, yup... Recently "rediscovered" this little gem. Was a quasi regular years back but somehow, got disconnected. But I'm back número tres, I'm back. What I remember enjoying the most still holds true. Lengua burritos stuffed with tender, melt in your mouth deliciousness of tongue, beans cooked to damn near perfection, rice and cilantro. Be sure to ask for diced tomatoes, lettuce and avocado in it as well. Pure heaven on earth. Simple but oh so effective!!! Asada, al pastor, lengua even the pescado tacos are all delicious and well received. Throw some grilled jalapeños in the mix to further activate the taste buds and finish off a meal to remember. Service has always, ALWAYS, been prompt and courteous here. So glad I'm back...

Yelp

don a.

Yelp
Irritating! Second time In a row I order sour cream (crema) and get home and it's missing!!!! They don't forget to charge $1 though. Frauds!
google avatar

Grandi O.

Yelp
you want good Mex foot like Tacos/Burritos then this is the place BUT if you want Mariscos Seafood then this place really dissapoints. I Counted 7 Shrimp on the Coctel and No Pulpo/Octopus. The broth tastes like water down Ketchup.

Genna L.

Yelp
Caught the owner reusing tortillas! So disgusting. Also the bathrooms are very dirty. They also never use gloves, very unsanitary. And the agua frescas always taste funny. 0/5!!

Kristal R.

Yelp
The cashiers/ waitress are so RUDE!!!! Horrible service ! do not recommend! I asked the cashier/ waitress if she may please give me a box to go & this lady responded "ask the cook". While the cook was busy in the kitchen COOKING!!! how rude...
google avatar

Richard L.

Yelp
Great customer service off top, I heard good things about this place so I came to check it out and it's not in the safest area I'll say and the steak tacos had to much fat on it and the chicken was just all gray meat with barely any flavor all and all didn't like it and it wasn't worth risking my life for I won't be back there ever again. #richeatsswashere

Angel T.

Yelp
Do not come to this location it is horrible ! Good is nasty and they want to charge for salsas, they're stingy on the food quantity. Overall quality is a disappointment. I rather make the drive and go to the one in Wilmington. And they are nicer there too. Even the salsa tastes better in the Wilmington location.
google avatar

Lissette P.

Yelp
My husband and I always like ordering ceviche and have never had a problem. Today, we ordered 50 bucks worth of ceviche. The entire tray of ceviche was extremely salty. When we called to complaint, they basically said yes we know it's salty. So what do you want? So they knew food was over salted and figured no one would complain???? My husband took food back. They made him wait in a long line and the guy he spoke with completely ignored him and had somone else deal with him. My husband asked for a full refund. His money was refunded but It was very disappointing, the attitude they had and still decided to sell food knowing it was no good. Never going back.
google avatar

Mary P.

Yelp
Super fast service and the food was delicious. They give you a lot of meat on your tacos so you definitely get your money's worth in quantity and quality. I also got their giant horchata.
google avatar

Yelp

Yelp
Pulling into the parking area for this place, I was getting pretty excited thinking that I'd get some good ol' authentic Mexican food for lunch the other day. My thoughts were as close as it got ... I ordered a shrimp burrito and a Sangria and it came to over $13. Now if it this were the best burrito I ever had, I wouldn't have minded however it was just different ingredients thrown together - no taste and the shrimp was overcooked. The service was lacking as well as we couldn't understand the server calling out the numbers as I guess shouldn't be a surprise considering she didn't seem to speak English. Parking sucks. It's not in the greatest of areas and there are other Mexican joints that serve much better quality foods at much better prices. The consensus amongst the guys, including myself, is that we won't be back. Not even to see if the cooks were just having a bad day.
google avatar

Matthew M.

Yelp
A hidden gem and neighborhood favorite rolled into one. I used to live a block away but took the proximity for granted. It wasn't until I moved north that I realized how special these tacos are. As such, they rival many of the great tacos up here in Los Angeles. The suadero is as good as anything I had down in Mexico. Quite possibly the best singular taco I had all year. The tripas were absolutely delicious. Get them crispy for an unparalleled taco experience. Alternate each bite with the pickled jalapeno for Mexican food heaven. That's what this place is, everything we love about Southern California brought to you by the people and cultures that predate the state itself.
google avatar

Greg S.

Yelp
I circled the block twice before finding street parking down a couple blocks. Not taking away a star rating for this, but kite f you are trying to get quick pick up, parking seems to be an issue here. The burrito with everything included shredded lettuce, not very good. Also the ingredients in the burrito weren't mixed together so it was very uneven flavors, the individual beans and pastor seemed pretty good, but I wouldn't want another burrito from this place. The birria was good in a taco. I would only get this if I went back. But I don't see going back here, clear cut 3 star joint

Claudia E.

Yelp
Always happy and satisfied with the food. The fast and professional service, thank you .
google avatar

Yelp
Worst service ever ... I love a small to big restaurant that provides great service and great food. Unfortunately they hire young people to be more precise a young woman that worry's more about there looks then taking a correct order. I placed an order over the phone and once I arrived I was charged then my had to ask for napkins sauce because they simply don't ask the customer if they would like some. To top that off they don't even bother giving you your money back. Yes they did not give me my remaining change back. Too busy with socializing and checking there phones. NEVER COMING BACK there are many places that make MEXICAN food and that will be glad to give a customer great customer service.
