Don’t order enchiladas from here, they are made half-assed with no love… And i ordered salsa and if i would have know that meant pico de gallo here I would have not ordered it.. Bean and rice were decent, horchata was a little too sweet for my taste but otherwise ok. I do appreciate they give you salsas (the real kind) on delivery! So many places neglect to do that… i’d give this place another shot i just will never order the enchiladas again.

This place is great. I get the quesadilla suiza with extra cheese. Absolutely delicious! I highly recommend! Also, they have rewards deals on Doordash which is a plus if you're a regular. They have churros too, and they are🔥. El Taco Loco SF is a gem 💎

Last couple times, I ordered super burritos but they never put guacamole even though I paid for it. Food is meh. Obviously no parking and the restroom stinks. Food here is more expensive than at chipotle. I’d rather go to chipotle, pay less, have parking space and cleaner place.

Awesome! I ate here for breakfast. Huge breakfast quesadilla hot and fresh in three minutes only ten bucks. Enough for two! (but I ate both sides lol). Perfectly spicy salsa great portions and authentic taste. Esta comida esta bien bien rica!!! If you are walking in the Mission and need a perfectly prepared taco quesadilla burrito or caldo (soup) this is a great spot. I will definitely be back!

Food was delicous! Flet like homemade food!

I ordered a super burrito al pastor and was mostly impressed. It tasted flavorful and fresh, and had a good ratio of meat to sauce to veggies. They were a few meat chunks that had rock solid cartilage, but another time a chicken burrito had no issues. The price is average ($14.70 with tax) but the burrito is pretty large. A small bag of crispy chips were included as well as a green sauce and red sauce, both medium spicy. The enchilada plates were a bit less impressive with hard chunks of relatively flavorless chicken, decent veggies, and unremarkable beans and rice. Service was super fast. I might go again for a burrito but I'm discouraged about the other offerings.

The only Mexican restaurant that ever served me brown guacamole. Thought maybe it was just me but after one bite, I knew that it was bad and sent it back.

No frills taqueria in Mission. Good food and a good option if other places have long lines or are closed. They could improve ventilation, but the haze of kitchen smoke cleared quickly on my visit. Mexican guitar musicians show up periodically to perform for commissions for requests or tips. The musicians are quite good.

Always clean tables and floors. Cordial and great food. Baby enjoys the beans and rice. New owners for a while now. Never a dish or taco that's not great.

Came on a whim after searching through google for a random taco/burrito joint in the neighborhood because I ALWAYS go to the relatively more "mainstream" ones. Boy was I happy to try this Super quesadilla is super solid. Got carne asada over the lengua (which I normally get) cause it was my very first time there. Love this joint. Lady at the front was really nice. I had to urgently use the restroom and I couldn't hold it in while I was deciding what to order and I asked her if I could use their restroom and she just nodded and motioned me to go towards the restroom. I was incredibly grateful for this hospitable experience. Because of that 5 stars. I appreciate how big this quesadilla is. Paid $12 before tips and they accept credit cards! El Farolito is right around the corner from this joint and I'd say it's not as cheesy as I'd like it to be. But check this out, wthey fry their tortilla soooooo delicately crispy, it was JUST THE RIGHT AMOUNT! It was as red riding hood never had to exist in the first place. I was amazed and loved it!

Came here at night since we found out that el farolito only accepted cash. Since it was late, they already packed up the salsa bar and the chips were a bit stale. My regular tacos were too spicy for me and I would've asked for no salsa if I read the menu better. My boyfriend got a super burrito which was pretty wet and soggy so he found it kinda disappointing. Nothing special but it got the job done

I ordered delivery from here for lunch. I was starving and still did not finish my food. The chicken fajitas were so bland and DRY! The rice and beans also did not hit the spot. The beans specifically had an odd taste to them, I couldn't even describe it, and the rice was just meh.

Stopped in while waiting for my bus transfer. Was weary because of reviews but my burrito was delicious. The service was prompt. And they have a salsa bar, with many options and some nice spicy salsas. The inside is a standard taqueria with booths. Would highly recommend trying if you're in the area.

Hands down to the one of the best weekend Menudos in the Mission. Great tacos with delicious fillings and with a good price too. Expect a good quality and generous serving sizes! A very friendly staff adds pleasure when you come here. My new favorite "private" Dining Room. Try it !

outstanding fast and personable gentlemen behind the counter whippin up delish food inna hurry. When pressed for time Taco Loco comes through clutch to nullify the hunger pains. The restaurant is clean, especially for being on 24th & Mission which can be challenging for the owners #IYKYK

Would recommend dinning in instead of delivery. Burritos are simple and good. Service in person is quick and workers are always nice.

I haven't been there in about a year. THE FOOD WAS ABSOLUTELY AWFUL!!! STINGY, OLD MEAT!! PRICEY!!! $20 DLLS. for a Carnitas burrito and a mediocre Horchata!!! Another mediocre Mexican restaurant. The salsas didn't have any flavor, nor kick of chile. I'm a Chef! And I am Mexican. What a shame.NO ! STINGY OLD FOOD! GROSS

It is easier to find a $1000 bill on the ground in San Francisco then find a restroom to use. The absolute gems at El Taco Loco are one of the ONLY places in San Francisco that have ever not made the request not only uncomfortable but did not deny me after asking. Before I even mentioned what I was requesting the cashier was polite and welcoming. For that alone they deserve a 5 star rating will definitely come back and try some of the delicious looking cuisine they were preparing! Overall this place is a great place to go if you're of African decent. While other places may or may not be overly enthused about your business I have not ran into that particular issue here. There are a lot of other stores in The City however up until this point El Taco Loco has valued not only me as a potential patron but has also treated me in a respectful manner. I write these reviews based on my experience so that others will benefit from the experiences that I have. But always do your own research!

I've been going to this spot for maybe 5 years now maybe more ... I go here altho I prefer Farolito on Mission but since I dont usually carry cash Taco Loco is the next best thing. Everyone here is nice and my Super Quesadilla is delish bit I am disappointed that the size had shrunk ... I know there's inflation and they probably have to keep it cheap for everyone ... this is 11 bucks but if you have been coming here you will notice the difference. I was at Faolito a month ago and they have not shrunk the sizes of their burritos there. Sorry, I can only give it 2 stars. For the new customers and dint know how it was before ... youre all good. I still recommend the place.

Breakfast pancake special was terrible. The bacon was burnt around all the edges and tasted like it was made 2 days ago, was barely even warm. The pancakes, while fresh, were also burnt/overcooked with a undesirable aftertaste. You get what you pay for, I guess. I'm very big on breakfast and this place is a definite no.

I ordered through Uber eats and was completely unsatified with my order. - enchiladas: so salty it was virtually uneatable. - rice: once again way too much salt. - refried beans: watery and also very salty. The cooks here need to back off with the salt. My order was a waste of my money and did nothing for my hunger.The food was again, just plain uneatable. The only thing salted correctly was the tortilla chips. How does one get some type of satisfaction? I will not order again from this establishment.

I decided to order the Birria soup to go today. It came with a small stack of hot tortillas on the side. I ate the tender meat wrapped in the tortillas and drank the soup in between bites. It was hot and comforting. The soup has a herby (oregano?) flavor. I noticed the container wasn't filled to the top but that's okay since I prefer the Caldo De Pollo O Res soup anyways. It was nice to try something different.

Gristly meat, stale chips, overcooked rice and old salsa- stay away! Worth it to wait in the line at el farolito around the corner.

The food is okay but because their customer service sucks! Does not make a difference if the food is good or not. I have spent my money there a this place and have tried to give them several chances to redeem themselves but the older cashier and even the young girl has the poorest customer service . And I don't appreciate that at all. I will never return to this place ever again. If you don't like your job , and unhappy do not take it out on customers that only want to enjoy food, and support a local business . I don't know if they are just poor at their customer service or they are racist. Every time I leave that place I feel like I wish I never ate there before . She should not get away with the way she services people . I hope someone sees this. And I have been there several times and bought large salsa and she barley filled it up to the top, we didn't notice until we made it home.

Ordered a shrimp burrito for lunch. Took about 15 minutes from order to getting my food. Evenly distributed condiments and good amount of large shrimp in the burrito itself. I don't know if it's the guacamole but there was something creamy in the burrito which gave it a bit more flavor to me but it wasn't spicy. I liked it a lot. It's not something I've tasted with burritos from other places.

Super burrito al pastor - As some of my fans know, I love fat. The fat in the meat wasn't as great as i remembered. Flavor was still great! Overrall still a pretty solid burrito. Beed head taco - This was good! The meat was very tender. Bonus - The lady who takes the order is always super nice and accommodating!

BIG AND TASTY! Super Breakfast Burrito - HUGE and packed with eggs, cheese, meat, chorizo - just overall a hefty breakfast that can easily be shared amongst 2 people. chorizo slightly burnt but overall good flavor Torta de Milanesa de Res - who doesn't like deep fried steak in your sandwich? super tasty but super heavy when you get a quarter of the way in. packed with all kinds of goodies with the cheese, peppers, and veggies Torta Chilanga - this wad definitely easier to eat and kind of tastier (maybe because I like saltier food) than the Milanesa, and they filled this one up with plenty of avocado! a win in my book. Pork Super Tacos - hefty amount of tender pork, good toppings, for some reason not as flavorful as I would like such as how La Taqueria does it, but still delicious service was very nice, the lady at the counter had to bear with me as i tried to run back and forth to squint at the menu because I did not wear my glasses out, she was still sweet and got all the orders correct came here because El Farolito was closed but ended up discovering this gem!

There are so many taqueria's in this area so as other's have noted this place isn't bad it's just that it's in a location where there is a ton of competition. Friendly service , I put in an order for a taco recently to check it out and maybe 5 minutes later my order was ready to go. A solid taco but not a venue I'd return to. Best tacos and quesadillas in the city!!!! Great, friendly service, clean and family friendly. Gonna try the breakfast one day, if I can get down here early enough

I love this place !!!! I am here every weekend and their food is great. The staff are super friendly and the service is quick.

Needed something to eat around 10am as we were doing our outdoor essentials. Since restaurants can only do takeout we decided a burrito would be best to be able to carry and eat at a bench somewhere outside. Taco Loco seemed to be the only Mexican place open at the time so gave it a try. And it was close to BART which we used. They are definitely practicing social distancing, as well as requiring masks for workers and customers. Their menu is huge! But I got Super Breakfast burrito with chorizo. My husband got Super Burrito with carne asada. Order comes with chips and salsa. About $11-12 each I think. Good value and it was delicious! One of the best burritos we've had. Esp for mine, it was filled wth chorizo! Usually chorizo is just an afterthought lol. Anyways we're fans! We never visited pre-pandemic but now we've returned twice already. For how things are right now, El Taco Loco was perfect in every aspect. Convenient Choices, location, safety, deliciousness.

First and last time. How is it that all the neighboring taquerias are so friendly. Yet, they have here a cook that is rude thinks he runs the place. I was yelled at for having my backpack on the table. Which I get but you don't communicate with your customers and yell initially. I hope management is around bc this cook will hurt your business

I realize restaurant or taqueria make mistakes but this place did little to resolve their screw up. I order a shrimp and octopus cocktail but when I got back home I see that it's only shrimp. I called taco loco and tried to convince me I order a shrimp cocktail eventually I was told they would make me another one. So I got back into my car drove down and these characters just gave me octopus in a plastic baggy. No apologies for the inconvenience at all.

Before we left San Francisco, my dad insisted on one last cruise through the Mission District. And of course, we were also hungry. So of course, we found ourselves ordering some desayuno en El Taco Loco before we hit the road. Good choice, Dad. Funny enough, we both ordered the chile relleno. Again, great choice. We were served generously egg-battered poblanos that were stuffed with Oaxaca cheese. The chiles offered a nice spicy kick, but the heat was far from overpowering. They were also served con frijoles that tasted like they were fried with plenty of amor. Sure, El Taco Loco may be a tiny hole in the wall on a mostly ungentrified (at least, for now...) street in the Mission. And you know what? They serve fantastic comida mexicana. Give them a try before the Silicon Valley billionaires arrive to flood this street with kombucha and avocado toast.

On a rainy Saturday, I was working the swing shift and I came here during my lunchtime. With the Giant's playoff admiration, I was hopeful that the taqueria would be broadcasting the National League Playoff on the huge TV. Instead, the taqueria and its employees and patrons are loyal soccer fans. The taqueria don't realize the Giants are in the playoffs with a huge chance of going to the World Series and perhaps, win it all. If the Giants win, it would definitely be good for many struggling businesses throughout the Bay Area. But no, the taqueria's main love is definitely soccer. Because of soccer being shown, a star is taken off for that. I do like soccer, esp. FIFA World Cup, but the entire city of San Francisco's current focus is watching the Giants play. The 24th street is still busy despite of the abrupt rain, including El Farolito Taqueria and many adjacent businesses. So I had no choice and ate here. I ordered the Carne Asada Super Burrito. For $6.00, the burrito is not in the same league as El Farolito's. The meat tasted like ground beef used in a Sloppy Joe sandwich. Being here like twenty times and majority of the time, I usually have good burritos from here. Maybe I came on an off-day! The burrito didn't taste that good especially eating and watching soccer with Manchester United played without United States' own Wayne Rooney. Since the Giants are going to the World Series, it will remain to be seen, if the taqueria will show any of the World Series.

I paid about $6 but it was definitely worth it for a carne asada burrito. Their horchata was damn tasty. Not the cleanest place in the world but definitely not a problem. I recommend parking in the public lot across the street.

This is my boyfriend's favorite taqueria, and I think it might just be mine too. Really, I'm having a hard time deciding because I'm pretty picky about authentic Mexican food. I need the real stuff! Just like the stuff mom used to make... Their burritos are pretty good. They serve sopes and menudo which are often a bit of a challenge to find. My favorite thing? Their nachos (I posted a picture in the picture section). Nachos just might be my favorite food. They're great for the person that can't decide what they want because they have a little bit of everything. ANYWAY, I digress... Their nachos are really good, and when I tell them to make it spicy they do. They put a butt-load of meat on them, and they're pretty big. I can never finish them. They also keep stocks of tapatio and cholula hot sauce which earns them bonus points.

I've been coming here for decades before YELP was even a glimmer in the internet's eye. Even when I moved out of state, I STILL come here when I'm in town. Don't let the outside (or neighborhood) fool you, this restaurant is clean, family friendly and consistent and cheap! It's always been big portions, tasty and fresh, the affordability factor is really the bonus. And you know what the most surprisingly thing about this place is? THE REALLY CLEAN BATHROOM! LOL! Maybe me and my family came on a good day but when I had to escort my little one to the loo, I was thinking, "damn, I'm gonna have to wrap the toilet in paper or carry my kid over the pot"...but low and behold, it was like really, really clean and newer! hahaha...okay priorities showing here... Anyways, I felt I had to write this review out of respect. I don't care what anybody else says, if you've lived in the city for a long time, you know what this place really is. A long standing neighborhood establishment. Hope this place doesn't get gentrified!

Came from SoCal and was not disappointed. As a Chicano I love the mission district and have are at a few taquerias. This one tho... wow. The al pastor had good spice and tender and the salsas they had were perfect on top. A bit pricier than most spots in LA/OC but that's why you get for being at the Bay. Still worth it. I still think about these tacos and am willing to make a road trip for them.

This is my favorite place to have Mexican Food... Food is always so good , menudo , birria the best.... Service is top notch , friendly staff ... Also, they have delicious burritos!!! They also have a whole variety of dishes to choose from. Gracias , Oscar and the team....

This is my first time here at this place. The place is pretty decent looking. They have alot of food options to choose from which is a great thing . They have good customer service here at taco loco . The food taste good it has plenty of flavor. I really enjoyed my food . I also got the the strawberry aqua fresca and it's so good . I will definitely eat here again

Cold night and had delicious pork posole. It hit the spot on flavor. Also has a carne asada taco, fresh tortilla. Salsa was good and spicy! Usually get gallardos but they closed early this evening and El taco loco was comparable :)!

Had food delivered (via DoorDash) for a work lunch. Everyone was very happy with the food, and would definitely order again. I had 1 issue, and it's weird to actually say this is an "Issue", but the food was made too early. Like 15 minutes to early. If i was on site, great, but i wasn't. We had lunch scheduled for 12:30. I asked for delivery at 12:15. Food was delivered at 12. That means the food was ready by 11:40/11:45, picked up, and then delivered. Meaning the food sat for 40-60minutes in containers before we ate it. The food still tasted pretty good, but things were cold. The chips were pretty stale too which was a bummer. BUT, like i said, food was great, and worth it. Coworkers are all happy with the choice still. Will order again. Thanks!

Our original dinner plans were for Mr Pollo, but the claustrophobic space with no available tables sent us running for the hills (or rather across the street) to try Taco Loco. I'm way to impatient these days. Whoever can seat my hungry ass pronto gets my business. The bf ordered three tacos: carne asada, pastor & the one with the most flavor, carnitas. He noted that the pastor was savory; he is accustomed to a sweeter flavor. Overall, tacos got the nod of approval from the bf. $2.35 each. My chilequiles (under $7) was awesome. Chips weren't too drenched. Topped with carne asada that was lean, but not too flavorful (bf concurs.) Pico de gallo was five stars-- salty & spicy. Chips did not taste homemade, but were crispy. Low point was the strawberry agua fresca; tasted more like sugar water. Why do taquerias that have good food also have watered down drinks?! And vice versa (i.e. El farolito--we only go for their strawberry agua fresca & always skip on the food.) Is there an unspoken taqueria law that says you can't have it all? Still, TL is a solid joint. Like Arnie, we'll be back.

First time. I was going to go to El Faralito but didn't any cash so I went to this place and it's amazing, given the menu I've have tried so far which was three fish tacos absolutely delicious. I'm gonna come back

Been going to this spot since it was on mission and 29th. The tacos are ridiculously delicious at the new spot. And before I used to get the chicken burrito and it was divine because of the marinade on the chicken and it would be so juicy! Honestly a banger. This place is a must go if you're in the excelsior! Everyone wants to talk about farolito and Guadalajara but this is their new rival! So delicious!

This is one of those hole in the wall places that you hope to discover! There is nothing like good authentic Mexican and this is it!!!! Boo Yah! Everything was mmm mmm good. The Shrimp Cocktail was fresh, the tacos were flavorful, the salsa was awesome and the Chorizo Tacos were the BEST! You might have just a bit of trouble ordering if you don't speak Spanish, but make the effort, it is SO worth it.

I live around the corner from this place and have been going here for awhile. I've always gotten their bean and cheese burritos with refried beans, and they've been pretty solid and good. Recently I noticed they switched over to CANNED BEANS for their refried beans. I was raised on beans and definitely know the difference, and it's super disappointing that they would do this. Maybe they figured nobody would know. There so much competition in the area, and I will be taking my business elsewhere. Shame On you Taco Loco.

Favorite burrito spot in the Mission. It's right around the corner from El Farolito, and is just as tasty by my estimation. There is rarely a line AND they take card! I always get the regular pastor burrito and am always satisfied. Good salsa bar selection too.

Always pass this place on my way to the bart and decided to stop in for breakfast. I ordered the huevos rancheros. The portion size was filling especially with the extra tortillas, vegies, and rice and beans supplementing the smallish main course and everything tasted alright. No complaints but didnt really wow me.
