El Taconazo Express

The quesabirria dinner is so GOOD! I usually prefer birria estilo Jalisco but their birria is super yummy. I believe it is birria estilo Michoacán, that's what the waitress told me. The waitresses are very nice especially the girl with the green eyes. She was so sweet. They aren't stingy with their carne for their quesadillas, all 3 of them were STUFFED! I can't speak for their consome because I typically don't eat it when I eat birria but, I LOVE their birria salsa. It's not to spicy and not to bland, the perfect in-between. I highly recommend stopping by if you are a quesabirria fan.

Served blazing hot, and tough to wait until it cools down. I got a quesadilla with steak, and only wish I was hungrier so I could have eaten more.

Talk about a deal. Came over here today to get some food for me and my coworker because we're in the city doing deliveries and he's not used to good food. Decided on the carne asada burritos while he was busy and they did not disappoint. The lady at the front counter was very nice and very receptive and very polite as well. The burritos turned out great especially for the price point. Highly recommended will come here again Heck I might even go out of my way.

The Steak Burrito and Horchata are my go to when I come here. Great portions and the food is delicious! This has become my go to spot for burritos. Place is always clean when you walk in. Open kitchen, so you can see how everything is stored and prepared. Service is also great, staff is warm and friendly, always greeted with a smile.

We ordered delivery. The milanesa de pollo was shockingly bad. I don’t know how they got it so thin. I couldn’t tell the difference between the chicken and the breading. It had a handful of soggy fries thrown on top. The rice was mushy and bland. We ordered sides of sour cream and got what tasted like runny ranch with no salt. It was very strange tasting. Beans were ok. The avocado slices were so black I don’t understand how anyone thought they were ok to serve. The chili rellenos were good but small. Very disappointing since they have decent reviews

I love this place for takeout - some of their stuff is hit or miss but the Enchiladas Verdes are always a hit and reasonably priced. Don't really like the atmosphere for eating in but the employees are always nice. Love their refried beans.

Food is no good...They use to have the best steak burritos dinner then they changed the meat to cheap fatty meat not the same. I won't ever go there again. Don't waste your money here, it's not worth it. Very disappointing!

Man, what a bummer. This place is so close and I was hoping it would be good. Would have loved to be a regular. Unfortunately, the food is TERRIBLE. Like, zero seasoning in the rubbery/slimy shrimp and fish tacos. Everything was super bland, soggy and gross. Like I feel like they had to make an extra effort to make food this bad :(

El Taconazo Express is AMAZING, period. I've only ever ordered takeout here, but I've ordered here maybe 20 times by now. The staff is always friendly and diligent, and my order is always made ASAP (I recommend booking literally 5-10 minutes before you can pick it up). They have outstanding carne asada- on my rotating orders, I always seem to get their carne asada torta, burrito, nachos, and tacos. Their nachos are the best in Chicago, I swear. And their torta is INCREDIBLE. They do not skimp on portions and everything here is super affordable. They have a vast menu and there's something here for everyone. They also have convenient parking right in front of the place and have tables inside to sit at. I love this local down-to-earth spot and will definitely continue going here!

I been going to other Taconazo's locations for many years, I was passing by Taconazo's Express order torta de milanesa, nothing compare to other taconazo's torta the lack of flavor it's just awful. No flavor what,s so ever The salsa also had no flavor I added so much salt to see if will taste better , no , so dissatisfied & disappointed, not coming back to this location for sure

I've been here many times and they never disappoint. I always get the steak tacos and the chicken tacos are also delicious. Always a go to spot!

every time I come to this restaurant the service seems to get worse. the waiters are not welcoming at all. I come here often expecting better service from the different servers but it just seems to horrible over all. would not recommend and won't be coming back

Yes. Just yes. First of all, it's right across the street from a friend's where I stayed on Halloween weekend. Needless to say, the next morning we were highly in need of some greasy food and this place hit the spot. We got quite literally 10 people worth of food for just four of us and all for only about $15 each. It was great and we had leftovers. Highly recommend their breakfast burrito (it's huge) as well as the heuvos rancheros. It felt very authentic and there genuinely wasn't one thing I didn't enjoy. Hit this place up!

I typically order food from their other restaurants. However, i was disappointed with the service in this one. I ordered some chilaquiles for pickup. I got there, and the order was not ready. I didn't mind so i waited for a bit, customers continued coming in and ordering & their order was still ready before mine. I had already been waiting for 20 mins, i proceeded to ask the lady in the cashier and she said one moment. After waiting another 7 mins, i asked for a refund in which she demanded she couldn't give me. The owner then came out and told her to refund me.

Not that good. No seasoning what so ever on food. Meat is very plain and doesn't taste so good.

One of the best Mexican food options in the neighborhood. I eat here 2-3 times per week and I'm happy to keep coming back.

Ordered delivery from here today and the food was ok. I see a few reviews that claim that the steak burrito is great. Well, I'm vegetarian and I had the vegetarian burrito from the menu and it was just so-so. I think it was mostly beans, rice, and lettuce. I feel they cut it short on the good stuff like cheese, sour cream, salsa, etc. Someone else in the fam also tried various veggie tacos and they were also just ok. Well, maybe if they added some flavor to the beans and included less rice, it would be better. Plus some of the stuff from above.

My husband and we're looking for a late night meal and order from here like we've always done. Food is not always AMAZING but it's ok. So on Tuesday night we ordered from here and I had the burrito and he had a milanesa torta. Low and behold Wednesday morning we both woke up with chills, diarrhea, vomiting. Hospital visit later come to find out it's food poisoning. I use to like this place but after this my husband and myself will not only NOT return but NOT recommend this place.

Had a torta de Milanesa and it was so off I couldn't even eat it.. the meat was weird grayish color... I do like their chorizo breakfast plate basic but good with the rice and beans

I been to El Taconazo Express on Armitage for over a year and always request a, "Double Cheeseburger" which is on on the menu and they will always make it for me. It costs around, $7.99 for the double Cheeseburger and French fries. Today I ordered it and I was billed, over $10.00 for it. I don't mind paying for it, but just look at the quality of the bread, is burned and it breaks when you bite into the cheeseburger. The French Fries are so, greasy and disgusting! I had told the cashiers about these issues in, many times and nothing has been done about it. So, I decided it was time to give them a legitimate review. You, might ask why do I keep going there? Unfortunately, this is the closest Mexican restaurant near me.

Great small hidden place, service was great! The food was served fast and the order was correct! I tried the steak torta dinner, it came with rice and beans. The torta had the fixings, avocado, sour cream, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and beans. The bread of the torta was super soft, and the steak was cook just perfect. They had three salsas available for your meal, red salsa, greens salsa and a more mild tomato salsa. Will definitely be back to try another dinner.

Ordered 3 tacos to go. They ran out of steak. So they made me ground beef and it was terrible. Then they charged me $2 cuz I needed another hot sauce.... Trash.

This place is my go to quick lunch spot. I live right around the corner and call in, they always have it ready to go in about 10 minutes. Their skirt steak burrito and tortas are my absolute favorite. The quality of the meat is great and they load everything to the brim. Definitely check them out!

Meh. I mean, it's food, you know what I mean? I get their tortas when I want to order something that'll be quick, mainly because they offer lengua and many places tend to run out and/or simply don't have lengua in the menu. Their tortas are decent sized, but they always lack a little *umph*. They're a bit mild-flavored, their bread always tastes a bit old but not too badly (lol, like ok fine I'll eat this), but it's an okay place if you're hungry and don't want to spend too much money. I guess what I'm saying is, don't expect to be blown away, but also know that you won't have the worse food either.

I have been here countless times. I would actually say stick with the burritos and tortas. The tortas are incredible. Try the red sauce not the green.

I've ordered from here 9 times since August lol. The food is always delicious and ready fairly quickly. Sometimes whatever meat I get can be chewy but I honestly order different kinds of tacos every time I eat here so I couldn't tell you which ones are like that.

Incredibly fast, always hot when delivered, excellent value and wonderful taste. Can't beat it for quick, local, excellent Mexican food. Recommend suadero, birria and Al pastor tacos.

Great steak tacos. Super fast service. They just need to start including lime wedges with the tacos and then they'd be perfect.

Second time here at taconazos, love the food and service is amazing. Will definitely continue to come here.

This taco Nazo as is as good as the one on Central Park the space is cute and clean the girls are always friendly and they always have their mask and gloves on eight out of 10

Tacos and tortas are great! However, stay away from the breakfast specials! I ordered chilaquiles which were disgusting. They didn't include any eggs or meat nor sour cream. They tasted sour so I call them and told them maybe the salsa they used was spoiled. They told me that the chilaquiles are made with just tomatillo salsa. Wth! No, chilaquiles are supposed to be spicy!! They replaced my food but they weren't good. I'll stick to the tacos!

yesterday I asked for a burrito with horchata. so disappointed if I wanted a horchata made by the powder that i can find in any store I will do it by myself and will not pay the prices that you asked for , I dont think it's fair to clients specially clients that know the taste of your aguas frescas try to lie just to complete an order. I know my order was at night but that is not excuse to do that at least let me know you don't have it and I will not buy it .

I've had carryout few times. Everything I've tried has been great and the service is always super.

The only place I get steak tacos from. The steak is always juicy and has so much flavor, tortillas are always warm and soft. And the customer service is amazing. Better than all the other locations.
