The 38 Best Restaurants in Mexico City | Eater

"Mexico City is obsessed with everything Norteño, from banda music and cowboy boots to velvety flour tortillas. El Tigrillo fits right in. The tiny bar in Roma Norte offers a short menu of hardy Norteño breakfasts on Saturday and Sunday. Try the scrambled eggs with chorizo and potatoes, the grilled cheese with carnitas, the chile güero taco, or the chicharron burrito. It’s hard to go wrong. In the evenings from Wednesday to Saturday, El Tigrillo serves as an aperitif bar pouring vermouth, cider, Mexican wine, and mini cocktails. Know before you go: El Tigrillo is walk-in only, so plan ahead." - Natalia de la Rosa

Cute spot. Outdoor dining. Good service. Tasty menu. Shredded beef appetizer - 4/5 Eggs entree - 4/5 The shredded beef was not what I was expecting but was tasty. More like a beef jerky thinly sliced but with a tasty almost hot sauce underneath. Let it sit for a bit and it absorbed the sauce and turned softer. Tasty. The egg dish was delicious. Perfectly cooked eggs, prosciutto, and crispy fideos underneath. Very good. Service is quick.

We came here for brunch on a Sunday morning without a reservation and we got a table right away. There’s a beautiful garden with a few tables, but there’s also an indoor seating area. For food, me and my friend shared corn pancakes with dulce de leche (cajeta) sauce and sliced banana (more than enough for 2 people). I also had coffee carajillo and Batida de mamey.

Huevos al comal was too salty. The oja Santa is a little too strong. Burrito de deshebrada was ok. Corn pancakes were delicious.

El tigrillo is "El tigre silencioso"'s early bird brother. I had seen a couple pictures and I knew i HAD to try the corn pancakes with banana and caramel, but I was not aware that there was a full breakfast menu with norteño options. I had the eggs and shrimp burrito, which was amazing, and we shared the carnitas grilled cheesse (spicy and with a salad on the side), and the corn pancakes, which were wonderful. We also tried the orange spritz, with sparkling wine, orange extract and Joto Juan, the incomparable orange liquor from Cavas del Mogor winery. Amazing. I still need to come back for the Croque Monsieur and the octopus croissant.

Adrian was a perfect host and the food was spectacular. Different than I expected but I like to be adventurous.

Kept on forgetting our order and it took super long for the food to come out of the kitchen. The second round of beverages we ordered never came and in the end (after two hours of being there) we cancelled the dessert we had ordered because it took so long.

The Desayuno Cheyanne is so good!
