Called me about my Chase bank account , he said. He hung up on me after I explained I had allready spoken to them today. Very rude.

Authentic Cuban restaurant. Friendly and good service.

Where to start. Walked in and found a quaint small place. Very few tables to sit at. The menu board was not great, kinda scared me away a bit. But said I'm here so let's give it a try. That said, the young lady at the register was very nice and inviting. I was very pleasantly surprised at the prices. In Miami I'm use to my meal being Rice and beans, meat and plantains or yuca. Most places in town it's just Rice and beans and meat the plantains or yuca are extra. Well this place was like Miami and that makes me happy. I had the Ropa Vieja with Rice & Beans and Yuca. A t amal, and 4 ham croquets total was 15. Unlike a recent visit to another place in town with smaller petitions and was 24 for same thing minus the croquets... Yet I was criticized for the review about that place cause I thought was expensive and bad portions. Oh well I can tell you I will be going back for sure... Check it out see what you think, I'm sure you will like it.

Google
The best Cuban food in Las Vegas. The best tamales ever!!!!!! My only suggestion is that they change the hours because the place closes way to early, especially on Sunday.

Google
$3 charge to pay with a credit card. Attitude from the start from the girl taking my order. Threw my change on the counter. Wow. Cuban sandwich not great and the Pork Tamal 🫔 was garbage .

Google
Do yourself a favor and stop by this mom and pop restaurant! The Cuban sandwich was amazing and the juice brought back memories! You know your meal is about to be bangin when the drink comes in a styrofoam cup!!

Yelp
Service: took almost a half hour to receive our food, all we ordered was a sandwich, fries and croquettes...and we were the only ones in the restaurant. We were waiting an additional 20 min after we finished eating for the espresso we ordered that never came...we walked out, they didn't even notice. Ambiance: While we were waiting, the employees were speaking about their personal lives very loudly, that we could hear them. Food: The sandwich, Pan con Lechón, was very dry. And this is coming from my husband who is Cuban, it didn't have any onions or mojo, which gives it its unique taste. We will never be back here.

Charles

Yelp
Service was terrible. They forgot my sandwich and had to make it fresh even though the sandwich and food itself was somehow drier than the air in Las Vegas, and I live here. Tried speaking in Spanish to get a bag for my leftovers too, and got stonewalled because someone was in line. Overall would not recommend, my family and I all came out pretty disappointed. I guess the murals were nice.

Yelp
They used to be the best but slowly falling down, 3rd time I come in @7:15 and the kitchen is closed the restaurant closes @8pm thought.

Yelp
Im so glad a lady at Smiths told me about this little cute Cuban restaurant!!! Its tucked away in a corner on East Flamingo and Sandhill, next to Smart and Final on the NE side. Very quaint, with only about 10 small tables and little waiting area. The girl who took my order was very friendly and asked if I needed the menu in English? Because the menu on the wall is written in mostly the Cuban language. Very nice of her to ask, but I knew exactly what I was in the mood for. The Cuban Sandwich! The Cuban comes with a side of fries, but I substituted for avocado/ tomatoes. The perfect sandwich! Loaded with huge cuts of ham, generous pickles, cheese and their sauce. It was so good I had a Food-Gasm! I felt like I was in Miami(where they make the best Cubans)!!!! AND...only $7 plus an added $2 tip. Yes tip, even on a to-go order. I love it! Highly Recommend!!! Definitely will be back, Thanks for the great service and food.

Yelp
The plantains where good ! Small humble place looks like it could be 2 different businesses in one . I was confused as I entered the restaurant saw a cashier and made my way back . The menu looks out dated and straight forward only a few items on this menu . I was pleased to see Cuban sandwich and tostones on the menu . I decided to try a tamale , Cuban sandwich with plátano Maduro o/s . Food was out in no time . I also had a small cortadito(small expresso w/milk ) while I waited that was the highlight of this whole experience . Kudos to " Abuelo " who got up from his siesta just to make the coffee .He was friendly along With the cashier with glasses . I honestly do not think I would like to try here again . The pork in the sandwich and tamale smelled a little to Pork-key if ya catch my drift . I took a bite but was too afraid to eat it in fear of getting sick . Now Once again I'm not pork expert or anything I only go by the rules I learned growing up . Anywho - this was my experience . I'm sad I gad to throw away 13 $ in the trash .

Yelp

Yelp
The cubano was messy and the strawberry jugo didn't have flavor sadly. I came here because it was only a few minutes from the house and thought I should try it since I love Cuban food but I won't be returning. The nice thing was the cashier was friendly and the place looked clean.

Yelp
First time trying Cuban food! The staff were awesome about explaining what things were and offering suggestions. The food is fantastic and omg the Cuban coffee is perfect! Will be back!

Yelp
if you are looking for authentic then this is the place. Forget about all the other cuban restaurants in vegas. This gem is a hole in the wall but everything on the menu is GOOD! I had the croquetas sandwich, spaghetti, and tamales and it did not dissappoint. Get ready to be in a line because this place is always busy.
google avatar

Diana L.

Yelp
I have not tried many Cuban restaurants but was impressed by this restaurant. The food is really tasty at a reasonable price. The indoor decor is not too nice but I didn't mind it because of how much I liked the food. I had the ropa vieja with batido. Tip: when you walk in, order your food at cashier and then take a seat. They'll bring the food to you.
google avatar

Yelp
Batido de Mamey.. Muy Rico... Cafe Cubano uno dollar Pastelitos yum yum ... A great place for a little snack or the whole pig roast...

Yelp
Absolutely disgusting. Ordered a Cuban sandwich and a small order of their croquetas. The moment I opened the container I noticed they're not using Cuban bread, no bueno. Took one bite and literally tasted the mayonnaise as it gets all over my hands. Opened it up to find it smothered in mayo, disgusting! The croquetas were also too overly greasy for me. The lady behind the register needs a vacation or some kind of getaway, clearly she's overworked because she barely said a word.

Juan M.

Yelp
Ordered 10 tamales ... sent to have picked up 30 minutes later... they said nobody ordered anything. They also said when I called ... kitchen is closed so they are only have tamales for sale ... I asked why ... they said: "The kitchen is to hot to be cooking". Also, two years ago I ordered 4 dozen tamales The prior day and when I went to pick up .... No tamales! Their response: "sorry ... you have to wait a few hours for two dozen". Bye Bye Tinajon!
google avatar

Sherri B.

Yelp
Terrible place ... no prices on menu..in fact no menu except what's written on board. I ordered chicken, rice and bean combo and plantains... all were tasteless ... the place is a far cry from la's Versailles ... and it's dirty to boot.. Not good, barely acceptable ...

Yelp
Man this places is so good. Meal special was 8 dollars. I got the salteado steak with black beans and rice and garlic and onion cassava. I had to order a side order of crispy tostones and tamales with roasts onions on top. I judge a place based on the food first and foremost. I would expect to pay triple what I paid if it was in a foo foo frilly restaurant. But this place is a classic family run small restaurant. You order at the register they bring it out. The black beans were awesome. Perfectly spiced and great over the rice. If you are up to food adventures this place is great. They even had a fruit drink called Mameya that was made fresh to order. It's a fruit I have never had and I have tried tons before. I am going to come here and eat through the whole menu.

Yelp
I have recently found a craving for Cuban Food and I am glad a friend took me to EL Tinajon. This is very much a family owned restaurant with a simple menu and small eating area. I have gotten several things from the menu and have tried the Cuban Tamales and all have been great tasting. The speed of the food is quick and the staff and customer inside are al nice and which make this place inviting.
google avatar

Jessica N.

Yelp
Was craving some Cuban food like in Miami and found this place online. It's pretty darn close to Miami style Cuban food and mehn those large portions! Yes or like the Cubans say it "Oye"'! Had the pork chunks with white rice and red beans on the side with Tostones and salad. The pork chucks were large and succulent. The rice and beans were cooked well and the Tostones...oh how I missed Tostones! Fried perfectly golden and not too done. The young girl at the desk is very friendly and hospitable. I will be back again!

Yelp
First time here with a friend. I wanted to order a sandwich Cubano but they were not serving it or they ran out of it. So I ordered the tamales. Since everyone kept ordering them. With the rice and beans. It didn't take long for the food to come out. Everything was fresh and good. There's big chunks of chicken in the tamales. They're not expensive either everything is pretty much reasonable. The rice was good as well. There's a cool mural of Cuba, and great music to enjoy with your food.
google avatar

Jeff L.

Yelp
Came here as a reco from our Lyft driver who himself is Cuban. Wow this place has not only great food, but it's a small family run shop that is authentic. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Ask for an English menu if you are intimidated to just order blindly and try. I will definitely come here again next time I visit LV
google avatar

Dario C.

Yelp
I love the Tamales best in town! Excellent Cuban style food! Thanks for being in Vegas!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Wish this place was closer to me! For the cost of a fast food combo ($7), you can get a fresh ingredient meal consisting of a meat (choices including steak, fried chicken, shredded beef), salad, rice, beans and a side (i.e., plantains, yuca). Service was fast and friendly. Our take-out order included delicious croquetas de jamon (4 for $3), a sizeable steak sandwich ($6 included fries) and a entree with masitas de puerco. All was excellent!

Yelp
Well we went here still looking for good Cuban food in Las Vegas. We were extremely disappointed. I ordered roasted pork loin and my wife had the steak and onions. Both were under seasoned and way over cooked. My pork loin was like eating leather. My wife asked for extra onions and it did not happen so I gave her mine. We are accustomed to a thick mayo like based garlic sauce in the Cuban restaurants in Seattle. We ordered garlic sauce but recieved a mixure of sautéed apples, onions and garlic in a cup. The salad we got looked like what you would receive as sides for a hamburg. No one ever came to ask how our meal was or if we needed anything. The lady who took our order did scream from the back asking if it was good as we walked out. I said thanks. Only positive note I could come up with was the black beans were good with lots of seasoning and bacon.
google avatar

John H.

Yelp
Best Comido Cubano I've had in Las Vegas, the Ropa Vieja is marvelous and well spiced, the black beans and white rice are perfect compliments, don't forget the fried plantains, a simple small hole in the wall place in a strip mall, family run, great home cooking, pork, beef, chicken, and the service is impeccable, a must try before it gets too well known, which won't be long

Jasper G.

Yelp
Friendly staff, family owned. I come here for their Cuban sandwiches almost every week. Simple yet very filling.

Yelp
Amazing, authentic Cuban Food Being born in Miami Beach, it's cool to see something like this in Las Vegas
google avatar

Manuel B.

Yelp
Great food I will come again. I ordered Ropa Vieja with rice black beans, green salad and tostones. AMAZING! finally we are having Cuban food here which is one of the best Latin food ever. We should have more of this than disgusting Mexican food.
google avatar

Leslie M.

Yelp
Due to the fact of being Cuban, coming from Miami, living there for 32 years. I will definitely know how Cuban food taste and looks. Today Halloween day at 2:43 I am siting right now on the table 10/31/2017, all I can say is that my steak was cook from the previous day or from another customer. I had two pieces of steak on my plate one was fresh and the other one wasn't. I couldn't eat it.
google avatar

Roob D.

Yelp
Listen, it's a hole in the wall. Is it as good as my mom's cooking? Can anyone's cooking be better than my mom's? Nope, but the food is good, and the tamales are delicious. If you're craving Cuban food, this is the place to be. I drive all the way from the north west to come here.
google avatar

Edgar C.

Yelp
Some of the best Cuban food here in Las Vegas, other than going to my Tia Andreas house but your not invited there so this will do for you guys lol. I've tried the tamales which are made of corn and stuffed with ham. Definitely should try ropa vieja (old clothes) it's shredded steak with tomato sauce very flavorful, served with congris (rice mixed with black beans), yuca with onions and a salad. Everything I've tried is very delicious and reasonable prices.

Yelp
When you have a business this small there are a few things that can set you apart. In the case of El Tinajon you can find a rare combination of all of them, fast, great Food and over the top customer service. I'm Cuban, sadly my generation is possibly the last one with good general education, I have been to some Cuban restaurants where the service is very bad and that is thanks to the ways customer service generally is in Cuba. This place is a family business with very well educated kids that takes care of your orders, once in a while I get onions on my plate when I did not order it but I can live with does small details just to enjoy the rest of the experience. First it's super fast never been waiting more than 15 minutes for hot and delicious food, again it's food not fast food so I'm not sure why people don't like the wait time. Second the food is just like I remember eating in Camagüey when I was a kid and the quality is consistent every single time I go, so if you are trying to really experience Cuban food this is where you need to go. Last but not least customer service with a tremendous customer focus. We always go and have been never able to buy this sweet, last time I went one of the kids hear me saying that and explain that they where making it and that it will take 2 hours and a half to be ready, a sencod later the time change to 1 hour and a half. Even though they where making an effort I was not going to be able to stay that long, by my surprise before finishing my food I had that sweet on my table with a note that read 'for you' and best of all free. I have only experience this kind of service in very high end restaurants and I'm very impress with this place. I will keep going and hope to see them grow and keep this business model because gestures like those are what make business great.
google avatar

Alex L.

Yelp
The service is bad. I used to go often since it was near the gym. I asked the owner to if it was ok to put my business cards. She said yes, "I actually I was looking for this service". So I left my expensive business cards out there. They actually look like credit cards. A week later a guy name (Andrew Parsley) that are partners with the owner, said he wanted my services. I went to his office, he was not there but his assistance tried to sell me on a weekly ads at the restaurant. At this point, the owner of the restaurant and Andrew just wanted my time. Please be careful, this is a big scam. I get the part of trying to sell your product but do not make me waste my time and gasoline. I'm taking them to small claim court for my business cards since I have not got them back.
google avatar

Mia L.

Yelp
I don't know why people are giving this place 4-5 stars. Because of that today I went to this horrible place. The food was lukewarm and tasted rancid, my husband and I barely ate. We got a fruit shake and it was pure sugar no fruit taste at all. This has to be by far the WORST Cuban restaurant in Las Vegas. Only reason we went was because all this great reviews that I doubt are true, this must be friends and family of the restaurant because no one in their right mind would consider this dog food edible. Sure enough a few hours after we got home I was violently sick! Sorry to be graphic but this "amazing food" was coming out of both sides. I would give this zero stars but unfortunately i have to give it one. Yes it's cheaper than the rest of the Cuban places in Vegas (probably due to their LOW quality food) but trust me spend the extra $3 and get yourself a decent meal.
google avatar

Lori P.

Yelp
I don't even know what to say. The food here was awful. I had a Cuban sandwich that was almost inedible. Never again.
google avatar

Luis L.

Yelp
Great price for a big plate . However food was not hot , it came to me cold. Not a very good experience. Also not to flavorful the food was missing spices.

Jacob L.

Yelp
Actually, it's 4 stars at best. However, Vegas needs more places like this and I'm grading on a sliding scale that incorporates the fact that this is a hole in the wall. Prices: Fantastic (likely to go up a little in the future I would guess) Tamales were a dollar a piece. A full plate of food was $7. That came with a meat, a rice side (white rice and black beans or them mixed together), choice of starch: fried plantain (sweet chunks or thin, savory chips) or mojo de yucca (tender yucca in oil and onion), and a tiny salad dressed nicely with avocado. Yes, that's FOUR items for 7 bucks. The sammys were 6 to 7 bucks and come with fries which they would sub in another starch side upon request. Food: Great all the way down to bad. The sides are awesome here. If you have had Cuban food before and get dizzy with excitement thinking of the beans and rice or fried plantains, you are going to be stoked. My Cuban sandwich was also pretty good. I thought the tamales were a little sweet but my wife loved them. Think steamed corn bread. My wife didn't love her steak and my mom's pork was DRY beyond excuse. Really dry and bad and should not have been served. My advice to the owners would be to not do that. If you know it's old and bad, just say you're out. In the long run, it will pay off. There's something to be said about slow roasting for hours, but you don't wanna cold rest it for days. It may have been an off night though. Also, like my wife mentioned, what do you want for $7 really? Place: Shopping mall, hole in the wall that is literally family-run. You got the son taking orders, the sister bringing out the food, and the mom asking if it was good. Could be cousins and aunts or something, but you get the idea. I don't live in Vegas anymore, and I don't know when I'll be back. However, I hope this place has a long life in Vegas. We need more places like this. Even though we have awesome Mexican food (I'm looking at you D-bag who said Mexican food was disgusting), we could use a little more variety in Latin food.

Yelp
Omg! Bomb.com! Love how they have it completa style which means great portions at cheap prices! East coast style!! I had lechon asado with congri and side salad and plantano maduro for 7.00.. plus I had mamey batido which was perfect to taste not too sweet and chilled. Plus my company had cuban sandwich and other completas like pollo frito and picadillo with white rice and black beans. They said is delicious as well.. I had to travel from North town which is quite a distance but worth the travel for a delicious hearty meal.
google avatar

Erica D.

Yelp
Yes, you need to go here. I don't know who you are but that doesn't matter. El Tinajon is a place everyone should eat at. Authentic Cuban food at its, well, most authentic- which means delicious. Ham& cheese croquettes? Yes, they have them and they're divine. Fried pork? Also divine. Everything pork - delicious goodness. Stop by, give it a try and I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Excellent food! The Cuban sandwich was great and the lunch special was a perfect way to taste different Cuban foods. Tons of great food and super affordable!

Yelp
So happy there is a Cuban Spot in the neighborhood! It's a small place with BIG flavor! There are a few high top tables and chairs for people who want to dine in. I decided to order to go. I ordered the Ropa Vieja, which came with side salad made up of shredded lettuce, tomatoes and avocados, a side of fried bananas, and black beans and rice. I also ordered a Cuban Sanwich and an Iron Beer for a friend, the total bill was under $20.00 - tip included. Everything was amazing. I honestly felt like I was eating my grandmas (Mima's) cooking. Everything was perfect! I really didn't expect much since it's a pretty new business, in a small shopping center in the back next to Smart and Final. The place does not look like much, a little hole in the wall Cuban spot that I am glad I found! This will definitely be a regular spot for me.
google avatar

Eliam M.

Yelp
It's hard to fine Cuban food in Vegas with authenticity. Definitely this is the right spot. Roasted Pork and Cuban Tamales has the real taste. Simply love it! Only thing they need to improve is supply. This is not Cuba! You can't running a business with shortage. If you ask for something in the menu should be there

Paul M.

Yelp
On a second and third visit to El Tinajon I found that the Cuban meals were much better and tastier than on my first visit. Whereas previously I had rater this eatery a (1), upon my 2nd visit I Upgraded it to a (3). On my 3rd and last visit this past week I liked it more, where I now give it a weak 4 (a HUGE improvement from my first visit). I now rate highly their tamales, ropa vieja, mamey shakes, and bistek encebollado.
google avatar

Yelp
Best Cuban food in Las Vegas! Great service and great price. Authentic Cuban flavor.

Yelp
I just discovered this place yesterday and I'm obsessed. Their meals are delicious and cheap. They offer a whole meal for $7! They charge $1 for a piece of flan, which is also great. I'm so used to Cuban food being so expensive, it's great to know that places like this exist. They run out of food quickly, so you gotta get there early. I tried going at 6:30 and all they had were tamales left.
google avatar

Yelp
Was in the area over the weekend taking classes nearby, didn't feel like the ordinary so looked up to see what was nearby. Saw Cuban and the positive reviews, so immediately headed over. Ironically, this restaurant is two doors down from where I've been getting my taxes done for a decade. Who knew? Inside, El Tinajon is your typical hole in the wall restaurant. Started to order a Cuban sandwich, but they were out of ham and wouldn't be able to make one for at least an hour. I ordered some kind of Lechon (Lomo maybe?) Asado with Rice and Beans (mixed) and platano maduro to go. Headed back to my class, and sort of tentatively pulled out the to go container - prepared to be underwhelmed. What a meal. The pork was tender, juicy and had a handful of crispy pieces. I shoveled in fork after fork of the rice and beans. Holy hell this was some seriously good pork, and arroz y frijoles. And the fried plantains....let's just say; I'm glad no one could see me in my car, eating this meal like a ravenous vagabond. I will definitely make my way by here again when I'm on the east side!
