El Tio Carnitas

I'm a regular here, walked in and placed a 60$ order, the son didn't want to accept my bill because it had 2 numbers written on it, oh well your loss. After years of being a customer I can safely say I'll never go back again. I guess business is so good he gets to reject money for the slightest inconvenience. The bill was brand new just had sharpie written on it.

My favorite place for carnitas we basically tailgated in the parking lot and enjoyed our plates first thing in the morning we where the first customers of the day.

Great place to chill and eat foods.

My father has been dinning at El Tio Carnitas for over 20+ years and has been taking me and sister to eat there since I was a child and I plan to take my kids there too. The food serve there is authentic Mexican carnitas dishes. It's very good food at a reasonable price. Great safe environment with a lot of parking. It's a family oriented restaurant with many other delicious dishes, not just carnitas. I recommend eating there 100%

I used to come here with my dad (RIP). I had a craving I couldn't satisfy and finally realized it was for these tacos. Took my daughter with me. She loved the backstory and the place. It was delicious and affordable AF! Highly recommend! Go support a local Hispanic fam please.

Best carnitas in Compton , tacos,torta is my favorite , burrito all carnes are good but I prefer carnitas

The food here is really good. I come here often for there Carnitas and beans for me personally or any house event. I highly recommend them the only thing that is Cash, Only (no debit/ visa ) accepted other than that everything is good

This place was empty, carnitas are not fresh, service bad, salsa not tasty never come back again

Honestly getting a plate after being hung over with fresh tortillas most definitely hits the spot !

So, I walked in and walked right out... This place is so f'n filthy. Never understand how some business owners don't take pride in keeping their establishments clean. Anyhow, couldn't try the food but I will not be back. Cochinos!

Best carnitas ever! Good prices too. The prices did go up by like $2 but still decently priced. Bring cash because they don't take cards here. I always get la orden mixta and it's enough for like 4 people. The place looks old and dirty but the foood is good.

Fire. Pozole with a gang of meat and Carnitas on a family Sunday , not dry or hard and real flavor like abuelo made it.

This Restaurant is a rat hole, so dingy n out dated inside this establishment. Food is so gross & bland, best spot for exquisite carnitas is @ "Carnitas el Artista" located in Inglewood. That establishment is extremely clean, spacious and great customer service. You won't be disappointed!

Was looking for some Carnitas for this year's Corona Cinco de Mayo Taco Tuesday . All the usual places where sold out. Yelped and saw this place, decided to give it a try, as I am getting there I realize it's in an old familiar place I probably have not been to in almost 30 years, where Pollo Lucas used to be. I get there and it's as the other reviews described, hope in the wall place, and they have taken good precautions for the corona virus scare. I ask if they sell carnitas by the pound since it's not on the menu, and they do. Exactly what I was looking for. They have buche too, also not on the menu. They saved our Corona Cinco de Mayo Taco Tuesday. The carnitas where good, a couple dollars more than the Vallarta or Northgate would charge per pound, but fresher and not burnt like those places. All of it was edible, sometimes at other places you get chunks of fat or burnt rock hard pieces, so that makes up for the higher price. The taste was good too. Definitely will be back to get our carnitas fix.

This place does not look like a place you would want to go to. It does look old and could use some updating, but it is clean inside. I remember coming here as a child when it was a totally different restaurant. My husband kept bugging he wanted to try it so we finally came to try it out. We bought 2lbs of mixed carnitas with its respective salsa and it was delicious. The mixed carnitas are not super greasy or super dry like other places. The price is great. They reheat very well as well. They tasted fresh the next day. Definitely coming back to try their other dishes. Recommended, make sure to have cash on hand as its cash only.

Love the tacos cueritos and carnitas mix ,plus everyone is very friendly,good food all around.

Really good Carnitas tacos. The location is pretty much a glorified taco stand but the tacos were still good.

We were on our way to Palm springs and just needed a quick bite so we pulled up yelp and went to this place. They did not disappoint. It was AMAZING! The food was great and the people were super nice. They only take cash so be ready for that. This is a must hit that is awesome food for a great price.

Had the mixed carnita tacos, they were okay. The eating area was very dirty, too many flys inside, the old man grabbed the carnitas with his hands to chop them that's nasty we don't know if what he was grabbing before that or if he washed his hands. There was barely any salsa left on the tiny salsa bar they had. The staff was very nice but Overall I wouldn't go back.

This place is so nasty first and last time I come here restaurant is dirty restroom nasty and carnitas were old and greasy af I don't know how they still in business don't waste your money and time there .

I've been coming to this place since I was 10 glad too see is still here, and the owner still here to take you order every time. Yea it looks like an abandon place but do come in and try the food.

My family I have made coming here a Sunday tradition. The delicious pozole and tacos we carnitas. Always greater by the owner

My favorite Taco place. We get the Cueritos and the Carnitas and Omgoodness I can't stop eating. They're not cheap with the portions. I love coming here when I'm in the neighborhood. This review is only for these 2 items. . Find out for yourself.

After so many times passing through here I finally decided to to give this place a try. I ordered carnitas and couldn't be more than satisfied with them...met expectation and exceeded them. The carnitas brought memories of being outside with my dad and having the carnitas cook in the cazo. It's a must try, now, go!

Ordered tacos for myself and the hubby the pastor torta .. torta was not my favorite at all but the tacos were amazing and they come with a homemade salsa ! I recommend the carnitas .. will be coming back !

Best carnitas tacos and the pozole is sooo delicious Btw they serve pozole everyday so Is worth driving half hour to this place.

Been going to this place since I was a little kid. There carnitas are super delicious. I've tried other places and this one by far beats them. I go out of my way to get them
