I visited El Toro Loco with my mom and husband for dinner, and the restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful. The area is nice, I loved the fireplace when you walk in, and the overall seating layout is great. We chose to sit outside since the weather was perfect. The service throughout the night was excellent everyone was kind, attentive, and welcoming.
Unfortunately, the food was quite disappointing, especially compared to other El Toro Loco locations I’ve been to. We ordered lamb chops, and right away we noticed how small they were. My mom ordered the three-piece, and I ordered the five-piece. One of my mom’s lamb chops was noticeably undercooked and very pink inside. The manager came over and was genuinely kind, but instead of replacing it with a new lamb chop, they took the one she had already cut and simply re-cooked it before returning it. I expected a fresh replacement, especially since it was raw.
As for the sides, the asparagus and kale salad were both very good. We also ordered mashed potatoes, but they were extremely salty. The lamb chops themselves had a strange flavor something just tasted off. I thought it was just me, but both my mom and husband agreed.
My husband also ordered the T-bone steak (I believe that’s the one), and he wasn’t a fan of it. However, he did enjoy the picanha, which was cooked perfectly to his liking. The French fries were delicious as well.
For drinks, we tried the berry lemonade frozen, which tasted good but was overly sweet compared to other locations. My mom got the mint lemonade frozen, which also tasted nice but wasn’t actually frozen it was watered down.
Overall, the atmosphere, cleanliness, and especially the service were great. But because of the flavor issues with the meat, the small size of the lamb chops (especially for the price), the overly salty mashed potatoes, and the overly sweet drinks, I’m giving this location a 3 out of 5. The staff and manager were truly kind and attentive, and I genuinely appreciated their service.
