El Vagon Tacos

I stopped for my first visit to El Vagon Tacos. I tried the birria ramen and the birria tacos. Both were absolutely excellent. Rich, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The service made the meal even better. A big shout-out to Arely, who took such great care of me. Friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Highly recommend this spot if you’re craving something delicious and want to be treated like family. 🌮🔥

Wow, what a great place to eat at. The customer service was outstanding and the food was super delicious! We ordered the parrilla with carne asada (10 tortillas included) and chips and guacamole on the side. You dont have to order chips they provide chips with three different salsa. To drink we had the agua de Pina and strawberry. Highly recommend to stop by and try their food.

El Vagon was recommended to us and we can see why! The food is the best we’ve had while here in Las Cruses! The staff was friendly and helpful even to people from North Carolina who clearly out of their element! Street Corn = Amazing!

Just passing thru and wanted some great tacos. Couple of locals said the BEST Tacos were at a place called El Vagon Tacos. When I pulled up with my son, the exterior look small and we had some doubts but when we went inside, the atmosphere was fantastic, the service was respectful and fast, and the freaking Tacos and Quesadillas were AMAZING🤩!!! The sauces and salsa were also magnificent and very well complement the tacos in quesadillas. Must Try “Ma and Pa” restaurant!!! 5 out of 5 🌟

This little taco shop needs to be added into your rotation! The birria tacos were delicious, and I love that the sauce came on the side so that I could dip every bite into it. 10/10 The painted walls and decor make you feel like you are somewhere else on vacation.

Super Terrific Outstanding! Truly the best tacos I ever have eaten. And the service was amazing. Areal was my waitress and not only was she all smiles, she was proficient at her job. Everything is freshly made. Also, met the owner who decorated the restaurant and was making the food. What a great place where you don’t want to miss if you are in Las Cruces.

I dream about this place. When I tell friends about my trip to Las Cruces, I show them pictures of these tacos. We carried out, but the vibe was great while we waited. Super friendly folks. And the pineapple mango agua fresca was amazing. Locals, please keep this place going so I can try the rest of the menu on a future visit!

This is my go to place for tacos in the entire town. You can't go wrong, but I'd suggest a combo platter and try the El Pastor but my family loves the the birria. Recently they had street style sweet potato fries with some elote-style dipping sauce.

The tacos were bomb! The service was awesome! I'm for sure driving from Alamogordo again just to get some more of these tacos!

Vibrant and cool little taco shop with some amazingly flavorful tacos! Not a large eat in facility but totally cute with good service if you eat in. Everyone loves a good taco and these will not disappoint! I was impressed with the meat ratio as they were definitely not skimpy. Salsas were really flavorful and could be put on a roof tile. Great stop!

First time at El Vagon Tacos and we will be back. It's a small, cute restaurant with dine in, take out, and drive up ordering. The menu is small with tacos, quesadillas, and some appetizers. My girlfriend picked the vegan tacos while I had asada and chicken adobado. Four tacos in each order for just $10 is a great deal. Tacos also came with a couple salsas, cilantro, raw red onion, and caramelized onions. Check out this place if you are in town.

Our friends who are newer to Las Cruces (like we are) keep raving out El Vagon and get it about 3x/week for their family. So we said, sure, we'll give it a shot. I got myself a chicken quesadilla and my husband the carne asada tacos. For me, it was the best quesadilla I ever had! The chicken was so tender and I don't know how they pack so much flavor into the meat. My husband absolutely loved his tacos. The restaurant itself is very cute, small and clean seating area - pretty intimate. The staff were so sweet and pleasant. I definitely recommend.

Came across this spot on a whim, the ladies were so welcoming and had an amazing attitude! I ordered two tacos of birria and carne asada and the price for these is amazing. 4 tacos for $10 highly recommend the quality is amazing. The consume was amazing as well. The vibe of the restaurant was so cool I loved the theme and the hand painted loteria cards was too cute!

A great Mexican restaurant with a simple menu. $10/11 for 4 tacos or a quesadilla, just choose the meat. Yes there's a few other appetizers and drink options, but overall a solid place.

Their tacos are amazing. The al pastor is incredible. Definitely worth making the stop here if you're going through Cruces.

Excellent find! El Vagon offered excellent service, dine in/drive thru or carry out. The service inside for dine in was superb. She was attentive, quick, and very friendly. It began to get crowded as we were leaving (Saturday at 12:30), but was nearly empty at noon. The atmosphere is so cute, and very open despite the size. Lots of bright colors, plants, and decor. Seating is a bit cramped but definitely tolerable. The birria was excellent - not too spicy, well flavored, and tender. Fresh ingredients make all the difference. Corn in a cup was five stars, so so good. We will definitely be back!

I came across to this taco place on the yelp and decided to try it out and in order a family box which it was little bit expensive but it was totally worth it and it didn't disappoint the meat was seasoned well and was so tender and the customer service was polite and the decoration was also nice looking this probably might be the best taco place in las cruces.

We are visiting from Cali and found El Vagón Tacos about 10 minutes off of highway 10 ... Ambiance was great!! And the food was delicious.. everything from the chips and salsa, the birria, carne asada and al pastor tacos and the sweet potato fries (a must try) were Amazing!!! Props to our server Arely for being professional and polite!!!! Thank you until next time!!

Saw the POVfoodie TikTok video and had to check this place out! The tacos are delicious and have so much filling! The pastor was our favorite. The birria Ramen is a must try!

This is a very surprising spot, with Lotteria cards painted on the walls and a relaxing atmosphere. The blue corn tortilla chips compliment their salsa, which is excellent in flavor and heat. I ordered tacos, getting half chicken adobada, half al pastor. The pastor meat was dry, but the adobada was tender with perfect seasoning. Looking forward to my next visit.

Food is very good and menu is simple. I liked the flaxseed tortilla quesadilla; it is unique and I didn't even know it existed. Service was very quick and friendly. Atmosphere is good as well. It was very cool inside, small interior but not tight, enough for about 18 ppl to sit. If the parking lot is full, you can be sure that it's full inside too.

Hands down, @elvagontacos served up the best tacos I have ever had in my life. If you don't live in New Mexico, you should travel here just to eat these tacos. If you live in New Mexico, you should eat these tacos. The Al Pastor tacos are so crisp and delicious; they melt in your mouth. The Asada has the perfect spice. The Birria Ramen is also a must; the meat-soaked broth is so pho king delicious you can't leave a drop in the bowl. El Vagon is a must and a must ALL THE TIME.

At lunch today, we went to check out El Vagon Tacos. The interior is small but they did remodel the look from the previous owners. It is nicer and decorated better than before. My wife had 2 chicken and 2 birria tacos and I had 2 asada and 2 birria tacos. Everything was delicious. The chips and salsa were also good. Our waitress was very friendly and efficient.

The food was good. The service was very nice too. The only issue I had was that I was charged for a second serving of chips with no warning. The other tables had a steady supply of chips and I don't know if they were charged for every serving. I found it strange that they would charge for the extra serving with no warning. The ambience is okay. There were a few flies that made it annoying. Overall, I still think the food is pretty decent for its price.

A local hidden treasure. Great food. Great staff. Eat here often. Yelp wants me to type more words but not necessary. Love yummy tacos? Eat them at this rad spot.

Finally a place with Vegan Tacos and they are really good!! Fast service and our waitress smiled the whole time we were there! Super nice place.

I have known the owner for a VERY long time and used to order plates of tacos from her when it was coming out of her home and watched as she turned the old taco shop into the best taco shop in town! I'm on a low carb diet and the keto birria taco is HEAVENLY. The service is always fantastic and every year on my birthday I get 2 trays and they are expected now. I love the look inside the building as it brings a classic look with a modern twist. I love this place!!!!

Went to this restaurant based off of previous reviews. It's small- yet has a great vibe. Me and my family went in and were happily greeted by the wait staff. The chips and salsa were phenomenal and abundant. We tried the watermelon strawberry and pineapple agua frecas drink which were great! We ordered the birria ramen and keto tacos with birria and asada meat. The tacos had great flavor and the ramen was awesome as well. Who would have thought ramen and birria went together but wow! The waitress was very friendly and made you feel comfortable, she even recommended dishes for next visit. We will definitely be back. This place is a must try 10/10.

El Vagon is now on my list of taco joints to visit frequently. They load up the tacos and quesadillas with a very respectable amount of meat. That is hard to find these days with meat prices being so high. The birria quesadillas, al pastor tacos, and asada tacos were all great! We have a lot of choices for good tacos in Las Cruces so the competition is fierce but El Vagon is definitely up there with the best of the best. You seriously can't go wrong there so give them a try if you haven't already because they will become a go to for tacos if you do.

Good birria tacos although small for the price of $11.00 for 4 small street taco size. My daughter liked the birria Ramen which I've never had before, but tasted it and it was good. Nice military discount also.

I live down the street and I've been wanting to try this spot for a while. I finally caved in and went for lunch. The building looks like it's been renovated and has a really cute and comfy interior with cool decorations. You can sit down or take out, I decided to sit. They bring you chips and salsa which were very good. I ordered the watermelon guava agua frescas which was very yummy and fruity! To eat, I ordered the birria tacos, which typically you can't go wrong with. You get 4 tacos, toppings, and a cup of consome to dip. It was all very fresh and delicious. I left with a full belly and content with my visit. Staff was also very friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend for anyone looking for tacos in Las Cruces!

I stopped in at El Vagon Tacos as it had been receiving rave reviews. I found the bistro small with about eight tables. It is bright and clean and well managed. The menu has little more to offer than tacos. The prices are reasonable. The service was polite and efficient. The young woman working the front was very sweet. I ordered two pork Birria Tacos and two Al Pastor with pineapple. They also provided a basket of chips with a little salsa. The chips we're almost black in color and had nothing to recommend them. Rate them a "D." The salsa had no flavor and was kind of weird. Rate it a "D." The consomme for the Birria was mediocre. The Birria Tacos were small tacos but they contained a large amount of meat. The flavor was good but there is better around town. Rate the Birria Tacos a "B" and the consomme a "C." The Al Pastor tacos were excellent..."A-.". All in all, this is a nice little taco shop and I hope they do well. Rate it overall about Three and Three Quarter Stars...meaning above average. Or, perhaps Four Stars. Forget the five star nonsense. .

First thing first, nice little place they have going. It's colorful and the set up is perfect for its size. The staff was nice and fast with our food as well. Now to the good part, the FOOD WAS AMAZING! the flavor was unique from other taco shops! The tacos were loaded to the top with meat! The cheese they used stayed warm and melted all the way through ‍. The salsas were delicious as well. For sure going back to try more of their food!

Tacos el Vagón is so delicious!!! Their Birria Ramen is the best in town hands down and I've had it at quite a few places. By husband got the Pollo Adobado Tacos and he was so pleased as well. The price is very affordable. I highly recommend!

The cheese with the tacos just wasn't my thing. They give you alot of meat if you like that. The sauce was a little salty. Overall good food.

I just moved here to Las Cruces and I was afraid I wouldn't be able to find good Mexican tacos. It was my brother's bday and I decided to take a leap of faith then I saw the post about this place on social media. They matched the pictures!!! Great communication when ordering and EVERYONE LOVES THEM!! Came with all you need in the box including the condiments! The place from the outside does not match how great it looks on the inside. Definitely going to keep this as a regular spot!!!

Al pastor tacos were going excellent! I've never seen the meat cut that way on tacos but the flavors were there! Birria ramen was delicious and very flavorful. Aguas were delicious and very refreshing! Definitely coming back!
