12 Hottest Restaurants in Charlotte, November 2024

"Highly sought-after food truck El Veneno has a permanent setup at Birdsong Brewing for Sunday brunch. The breakfast tacos are unlike any other, with scorched, spiced meats hugged by corn tortillas. Two killer breakfast options include the soft conchas enveloping barbacoa cheese, creamy avocado, and scrambled eggs, and the specialty sourdough jalapeno bagels with fried eggs, queso, and bacon. Prices range from $5 to $16, and the line is worth the wait." - Kayleigh Ruller

18 Best Restaurants in Charlotte, North Carolina | Eater Carolinas

"El Veneno doesn’t need a brick-and-mortar to make the list. The search for this taco (and much more) truck is worth it because Kimmy Bazan makes a smoky black al pastor and a succulent, melty mulita. The menu is certainly modern, honoring Mexican flavors and shape-shifting them into barbecue, banh mi, and bagel specials while highlighting local, handmade corn tortillas and a robust mole negro. El Veneno is the queen of collabs, joining forces with Charlotte’s best-kept secrets — Union Barbecue, Dolce Dreams Cafe, Noche Bruta, and Already Sammies — for pop-ups worth visiting." - Kayleigh Ruller

I had the brunch carne asada with beet purée dish and it was one of the most complex, flavorful dishes I’ve ever had from a taco truck. Highly recommend!

I had the asada and al pastor tacos and they were delicious! My husband really loved the al pastor taco in particular! He said that it is the best protein he has tasted on a taco and wants to come back just for that. Would recommend this place. Owners are very nice!

The best tacos in the Charlotte. Their tacos are unique but still authentic! All their meats are so well seasoned. They don’t skimp out on the meat, always loaded. All their other items are so good too! Also fully loaded!

Hands down my favorite meal in Charlotte, both the tortas and tacos. I’m looking forward to the return of the food truck for my next visit to town! Take care, y’all!

The taco was phenomenal, fast and a great value. I was full from two steak tacos and the cashier was very friendly.

Five stars just isn't enough for El Veneno! I've officially declared their tacos the best I've EVER had. Seriously. I've tried tacos all over the place, from tiny hole-in-the-wall spots to fancy restaurants, and nothing compares to the incredible flavor and quality at El Veneno.
