Yelp
I really, really, enjoyed my meal here. But my wallet felt really, really differently.
The food is fantastic, but you're paying for the zip code, no two ways about it. The restaurant space itself is massive, with multiple large rooms, a large bar, and ample outdoor seating. Decor is lively and colorful without being tacky, the decor and ambiance are really beautiful, they put a lot of effort into the whole experience. Even the service was really friendly and cheerful.
For my cocktail I ordered the Mezcal Cleanse, which is Mezcal with a sort of mock "green juice" and pickled vegetables. I love the concept, my boss makes a killer green juice that I'm dying to put liquor into, but this just didn't translate as well. It wasn't bad, it was a fun drink, but I didn't order a second.
My friend and I started with the Chips & Salsa, a bargain at $6.Tomato, tomatillo, red onion, jalapeño & lime, it's a very dry salsa. While I prefer more liquid, the flavors were absolutely delicious. I would order this again.
I got the Tuna Tostadas, a small $15 appetizer. Mind you, it is raw tuna and the portion size is probably similar to that of a tuna tartar, it's just hard to wrap your mind around when it arrives spread out on these three little crispy corn tortillas. It's got avocado, two types of chilie, and these crispy onion shavings on top. It's freakin delicious! You just want like ten of them though.
I also ordered the Tito Santana Guacamole: mango, red bell pepper, jicama, habañero & serrano chiles. $17! Ouch. It doesn't look like much in the photos, but it was really, really good. I just can't get over that price point.
The grilled corn on the cob with lime, chipotle & queso fresco was one of the best damn corns on the cob I've had a pleasure of eating in my life. Just slathered with so much good stuff, I devoured it.
5 stars for ambiance, 5 stars for food, but the price point is on the high side (dinner came to a little over $100 for two people).
