Where to Eat Exceptionally Well in East Portland

"This food cart right off Sandy Boulevard focuses on interpreting flavors of the Yucatán, offering burritos, tacos, bowls, and more. Try the cochinita pibil, which is a traditional pulled pork from the Yucatán Peninsula, or a chile relleno burrito which can double as breakfast since it comes with an egg inside. For those looking for a non-Mexican option, the cart also sells burgers and sandwiches, as well as bubble tea." - Rebecca Roland, Krista Garcia

This spot is an absolute treasure! We’ve been here 3 times in the last couple of months. I’ve never had a panucho before and immediately got hooked. Somehow they put a thin layer of refried beans inside the corn tortilla and it’s served like a taco. The meats are packed with flavor, and topped with fresh traditional Mexican toppings. Must go!!! Get the Panuchos, if you like tacos! You won’t regret it!

Went here after a friend raved about how good their food is. I was not disappointed! The food here is amazing and the service is wonderful. The fajita burrito was so flavorful, I highly recommend it. We also tried the supreme burrito which was tasty too but I'd say go for the fajita burrito instead; it's the same thing but with fajita veggies added. The habanero sauce is amazing too. I'm looking forward to trying more menu items! I just wish there was another location closer in SE PDX so I could order regularly. It's my new favorite place for burritos

Great and fresh burrito. The way they cooked the tortilla was outstanding, I absolutely loved a grilled tortilla the way they did it. The burrito I got was veggie, and had pickled onions and other fresh ingredients and was delicious, one of the freshest tasting burritos I've had. The drink was jamaica hibiscus and wasn't too sweet, which is great, I hate when places just add tons of sugar to drinks. Would have rather had horchata, but the option wasn't available on the app I ordered from. The sauces were something special, the avocado was airy almost like a whipped sauce. The habanero was spicy and sorta sweet. Both delicious. Overall easy 5 star.

It's my 1st visit. I can't say I'll come often as I live in Denver. However, it's amazing food. The burrito has that amazing crispy grill on the outside. The inside had the best fillings. Fresh. I had the Oregon burrito. I'd like to come try another one. My mom had the chile relleno bowl. So cheesy. Definitely worth the drive from Vancouver.

This place is a true gem! Easily the best Panuchos - probably the best tacos - I have ever had even after 10 years in California and trips all over Mexico. The food is outstanding. The employees are lovely and friendly. I hope this place remains forever!

For our first stop visiting Portland, we went to El Yucateco because of the high reviews. We were not disappointed! Asked the chef what he recommends and got a Torta chef style and the Oregon burrito. He even let us try the Panucho which was tiny but so flavorful. I'd get more next time! The portions were huge so we only ate half. You can't beat the excellent, friendly service and delicious food!
