We went there with a large group and made a reservation. We were seated right away. The only seating option for a group of 7 was outside on the roof. They do have portacool AC outside to help keep you cool, but it does kinda blow on you as you are eating. We turned it so it was facing away from the table slightly, also the sun was setting, so I would recommend bringing sunglasses. The food and drinks were great, they also have a small kids menu available upon request. The kid options were Mac and cheese, a burger and chicken. The burger and fries was a good kid option. I ordered the shrimp scampi, it was delicious. The Mostly sunny drink was also very good.

Elderwood has become one of our favorite places over the years ...especially for my birthday and special moments. While we didn’t make it for dinner this year, we still stopped in during the week of my birthday for a mid-day cocktail, and just being there brought all the magic back. The rooftop setting is unbeatable, perched on top of The Darling Hotel with beautiful views of downtown Visalia. Time it right, and you’ll catch the most stunning sunset. I’m always drawn to outdoor venues, and Elderwood delivers every time with its open-air elegance and golden-hour glow. We’re big fans of the Roaring 20s, which also happened to be our wedding celebration theme, so the vintage vibes here feel like home to us. We’ve had spontaneous dates that turned into nights of dancing and drinks, all starting with dinner or a quick drink at Elderwood. It’s not just a restaurant, it’s an experience. From the rooftop views to the downtown energy just steps away, this place will always be part of our love story. Highly recommend for anyone looking to create one of their own.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Darling Hotel was amazing! The price was great, the room was super clean and comfortable, and the view was beautiful — especially at sunset. I also had a fantastic meal at Elderwood, the restaurant inside the hotel — the food and service were excellent. Everything about my stay was easy and enjoyable. I’ll definitely be coming back next time I’m in town!

The food is very delicious and healthy. It was a great experience for the first time. The waiters were very attentive. I will come again next time. It is worth a visit. Recommended

When we arrived we asked for roof top siting. We were told we had to reserve that ahead of time. We asked how long the wait would be, if we chose to wait. Monique said they were completely booked for the night and there is no way we are getting it. As we are sitting 5 feet away from her at our inside table we hear her offer outside sitting for two to the next people who walked in 2 minutes later. They decline at first then decided to go outside. Another 3 minutes passes and another couple walked in and she offered them roof top sitting as well and they chose to eat inside. Within 5 minutes 2 other couples were offered outside seating. We hadn’t ordered yet and wanted to take the available table the second couple declined but Monique avoided our table and all eye contact as she walks by our table constantly and completely looking down and away or up and over us until another couple came in and went outside. We gave up and ate inside. Server Julia was very pleasant and the food was amazingly delicious. Manager gave us his card in case we decide to go back, he said email him first and let him know when we want to eat there again.

Google
An amazing experience. The atmosphere, the views, the service - all top notch. When I mentioned how great the food was to our server, Julia, she went to the chef and came back with a list of ingredients for the blackberry port sauce that came with my porkchop—the best I've ever had anywhere. When we mentioned we'd spent the day hiking in Sequoia, she came back with a list of her favorite hikes for the next time we're in town. It was the perfect cap to a day already filled with great experiences. I'd happily recommend Elderwood to anyone.

Google
Elderwood is great. Perfect vibes for young professionals. I've always enjoyed the brunch more than dinner. I tried their min to get churro starter. It was fresh and delicious. Their chorizo bowl was top notch as well. Their pickled red onions were fresh, the tomatoes for the pico de gallo tasted like fresh heirlooms, and and my egg over medium was perfect. The cooking is precise and the ingredients are truly premium. You can tell that all the staff are trained to provide the highest level of service and professionalism. Service is always very patient and accommodating to us with our dietary restrictions.

We went for a summer cocktail on the rooftop. The view is amazing! The cocktails were excellent. We had some bites and it was also great. This unique place deserves better service.

Yelp
Food, Service, Ambiance, YOU CHECK ALL THE BOXES ELDERWOOD! The hibiscus drink was my fav, & the fig appetizer?? Oh man, like I said... CB rocked all the boxes! Thank you ELDERWOOD

Yelp
Gf & I went on weekend getaway from LA and we decided to come here. Ordered the Shrimp Scampi & my gf ordered the Grilled Chicken and it was nothing short of ... excellent! She also ordered the "Rumor Has It" and that was really good too! Also worth mentioning, the Brioche and butter! That would be delicious with some coffee in the morning. Waitress was pleasant and attentive. Frequently checked in on us and asked if we were celebrating anything or needed any special requests. Patio was very nice and had a good chill vibe. Perfect for those couples who want to have an intimate dinner and can hear each other speak. My reason for 4 stars is that the high chairs and table are uncomfortable. The table kept moving when we tried cutting into the chicken. Other than that, it's a great place for dinner. We'd come back again when in town :)

Yelp
We'd been looking forward to coming here for some time since it was renovated a few years ago. Had to wait for the right occasion and good weather since most seating is outside. Having not been there earlier, we can't comment on the reviews complaining about recent menu changes, but we were pleased with our Caesar salad, strawberry salad, herb-roasted chicken with mashed potatoes, and salmon with jalapeño rice cake. The salmon was perfectly prepared--lightly crisped on the outside, moist and tender inside in a slightly sweet beurre blanc sauce. Portions were generous without being overwhelming, and the quality of food left us satisfied without dessert. Our wines were both good as well. Service could have been just a little more attentive and there was a minor error in one order, but the server was friendly and knowledgeable. We would come again for another special occasion.

Yelp
A little sad about this place because it used to be a favorite destination of mine in the Central Valley, but since the last menu change around March 2025, I am not as big of a fan as before. They took away one of my favorite things which is the bread (used to be complementary), and the replacement brioche roll is mediocre at best. The brioche at Whole Foods tastes better than that tbh. At least they kept the honey butter which is outstanding. The new burrata dish isn't super great either. Pork belly was just okay. I swear everything used to be so much better in the previous menus. Of course, they raised the price by quite a bit as well in the new menu. For the new menu, I'd probably give it a 3.5 star since the service is still very good and the view doesn't change. But I'm not excited about the food anymore. Sad.

Yelp
Such a cool spot in Visalia! It's located inside the Darling Hotel, and when I walked in, the concierge got the door for me! The hotel smells super yummy, and it's got great art deco vibes!! I didn't snap any pics of the hotel lobby or even of the restaurant, but I did of the elevator (lol!) and the food! The bar/restaurant is on the top floor, and I sat outside (it was 85 degrees) at the rooftop bar. Great views of DT! I got the shishito peppers, which were awesome! They have a slight sweetness to them from drizzled agave, and are served with a charred lemon, sea salt and micro greens. For my main, I got the salmon, but I subbed the rice cake out for veges. It's served with a really yummy white sauce (honey lemon beurre blanc) and cilantro oil (I couldn't really taste the cilantro oil). And then sprinkled with more micro greens! This dish was also great!! I didn't have any room for dessert, so hoping next time I will! Service was pretty good!

Yelp
Pretty good food! The shrimp scampi was so well flavored and seasoned. They did mix up a dish from chicken to salmon but made up for it by not charging for it, so very excellent service too. If you want something more upscale in Visalia, this is the place to come. Close to a city lot for free 2 hour parking and located on the 4th floor.

Yelp
Bartender was nice, drinks were amazing. The cocktails I tried were high-end. Elegant atmosphere at the unique bar. Cozy vibe on the rooftop patio. Overall upscale experience. I'm so glad I got to experience it. Highly recommended if you are in the area.

Yelp
This place is the bee's knees. What a fabulous find in downtown Visalia! I was led here in two ways: a conference at the nearby Convention Center and a PBS special highlighting Visalia. Once I learned of the Darling Hotel and its rooftop restaurant, Elderwood ~ just a few blocks from where my conference would take place ~ I knew I had to give them a go. So glad I did. Super classy, upscale Art Deco inspired bar area on the top floor of the wholly renovated Darling Hotel. Got to enjoy an early breakfast here on my first morning. Rooftop dining areas with views for days. Open air but cozy with gas fire pits and overhead heaters, which made an early February dinner more than comfortable ~ even though the ambient temp was so chilly that I actually saw my breath at one point! Breakfast was delicious. Brilliant combo of perfectly poached eggs Benedict served with asparagus, hollandaise pulling it all together. Great simple drip coffee. Fabulous, friendly and swift service. The next evening, I enjoyed a delightful sunset dinner from the rooftop patio. More great service. Opted for the orange burrata and gnocchi. The former was an incredible melange of flavors beautifully presented. The only downside of both meals I enjoyed here was the gnocchi. I was anticipating soft pillows of goodness with small chunks of butternut squash and sage leaves but instead got firm, pan-fried gnocchi in a thick squash puree with little to no detectable sage. Still a fine dish (and certainly a generous portion), but this offering left a bit to be desired. All in all, I give Elderwood an enthusiastic 4.9 stars ~ let's round to 5. Would rush back in a heartbeat!

Yelp
This cozy rooftop restaurant located on the roof of The Darling hotel is lovely for a date night or celebration. The food is good and they have a cocktail menu larger than the food menu and decent wines if you want to pop in for drinks. The service is impeccable and they will add a little extra special birthday message to your dessert. The steaks are cooked well and the cut tender. Any sides are extra. Reminds me a bit of Vegas prices especially if you get the steak and add a side. The salmon is plated beautifully and the beurre blanc is creamy and tangy and the definite hero of the plate. The jalapeño rice cake could have used more seasoning and the salmon seared just a bit more but overall a great fish dish. The chicken is plated atop mashed potatoes with Marsala sauce and was more delicious than its plate presentation. Hands down you have to try the pork belly bites. Best appetizer on the menu. Cooked to perfection and really gets your taste buds going. Elderwood is a lovely dining experience whether you're in for a few drinks and an appetizer or staying for a meal.

Yelp
I would say this place is pretty good !! If u were to go, try to eat on the patio, it's so much better and nice on the rooftop. I think the view of it was much better than the food. Tbh the food was okay, it was anything crazy where I would go for the food again. Maybe would just go for the view and some drinks, bc the drink we got was called "the grass is greener" which was really good. So I'd probably just go to try more of drinks. For the price the food was not really worth it, but the atmosphere and aesthetic was super cute !! Even if u eat inside, inside the restaurant was pretty but I say eat outside. I'd rate this place a solid 7.5/10. Also the service was great, the lady who was our waitress was very kind. So the service there is pretty good.

Yelp
This place is a Gem. Great food and a great place for a date night. The ambiance is really upscale. The service was great and on point and just an overall great experience. A must go to.

Yelp
For our bdays, fellow Yelper, Lila and I went to have brunch at Elderwood with fellow yelper, Sally, Danays and her friend, Blanca. I originally made reservations for 1215, but my Google maps took me to the city of Elderwood from Fresno, which I found out is what the restaurant is named after so Robert was nice enough to let us change it to 1245 instead since we got lost. Once we arrived everyone was extremely nice. The restaurant is all the way on the roof. It is one of the prettier and fancier hotels in the valley. It's very art deco meets modern meets Great Gatsby. Our server Renee was extremely nice and brought us cupcakes. I was going back and forth for 4 and 5 stars, but I'll round up. The south fork mimosa (guava and pineapple mimosa was so refreshing). Their orange juice is fresh squeezed. The reason why I almost left off a star is because their echo cove French toast looked nothing like their other photos. I barely had any berries on my French toast and didn't see any cornflakes. However, the crunch on it was so delicious, I wonder if they changed the recipe to coating the toast with the corn flakes, but it would have been nice to have what was consistent in other photos. All of my friends enjoyed their hash, chilaqules and egg benedicts. Overall, I'm glad I made it out here, but hope they can get that French toast sitch situated. As much as I don't want to notice these things, I do.....but they comped us each a birthday cupcake. The peanut butter chocolate one was good!

Yelp
They are flexible and accommodating, our party was about 25 minutes late and they had no issues with that. Other places you'll lose your reservation, but they were very kind about it. It was five of us ladies celebrating my birthday early and my friend Sis's late bday. We actually got a dining room table, which worked out because it was pretty hot that day. I would love to sit on the patio once the weather becomes more temperate. The drinks were delicious- the original mimosa with fresh squeeze orange juice was great. I sampled the pineapple one that my friends got, also delicious. I decided to try their espresso martini, and it definitely stands out from a lot of others- there is a very distinct coffee taste to it and you can't really detect the alcohol. It was just delicious and balanced. The food portions are not humongous however, it's enough food to fill you up, I got the crabcake Benedict, which was very fresh and tasty. Everyone else enjoyed their dishes as well. They brought us complementary cupcakes with a candle and service overall was just really good. I look forward to coming back again.

Yelp
Came here for a second time but for brunch this time (last time was dinner). We made a reservation for the patio at 9:30 am and the waiter lit a fire place for us outside since it was a surprisingly cold morning. I got the pork belly burrito with a side of sweet potato fries and a vanilla latte. The views were immaculate for breakfast and the pork belly burrito was incredibly savory with delicious chunks of crispy pork belly inside. I quite liked the avocado sauce given on the side as well. I definitely prefer more crunchier sweet potatoes fried as opposed to the mushier kind that was served here but liked the herb seasoning that was sprinkled on top of these fries. We did wait for about 30 minutes for our food and the waiter forgot to put one of the orders in so they graciously covered that charge for us. Overall had a good experience but will say that the dinner menu is far more impressive vs the brunch menu. I would give it a 3.5 for the brunch. (Pls keep in mind I am not a drinker so this review is based only off of the food! There was an extensive brunch drink menu including mimosa deals for anyone interested!!)

Yelp
The view at sunset is beautiful. The orange burrata was delicious. Shrimp scampi was one of the best I have had! All the staff is very helpful and friendly.

Yelp
Went to Elderwood about a week ago and it was a terrific experience. Everything from the appetizer to the dessert was amazing. We sat outside on the patio, which was well lit by a fire pit and string lights! It was the perfect temperature with the heaters on as well. I highly recommend the spicy shrimp appetizer and the herb roasted chicken. Our waitress Makayla was very tentative, communicative, and polite. I will definitely be asking for her service again in the future. Overall, a wonderful experience!

Yelp
Great ambience, food to expensive and sub par and old. They need to step out of the and serve something different than anyone else.

Yelp
Took the family to celebrate our anniversary. Sadly, the menu has changed, food presentation and maybe the chefs. Ordered a steak with fries for my son & the steak was cut in half and placed on top of fries. Was not appetizing. I ordered a shrimp pasta dish & unfortunately it was drenched with sauce and fishy. I ended up getting sick from my meal. A bout of food poisoning. The server & manager were very kind and did notice something was wrong. The manager professionally made it right. The customer service & ambience was great. Hope the menu changes again.

Yelp
We went to Elderwood in hopes of an appetizer and a drink. Unfortunately, they do not serve food between lunch and dinner service. Olives don't count folks. My friend ordered an All Falls Down, which she loved. It was a happy hour cocktail so we paid $10. I wish they had a better wine selection. I got the Jax Y3 Pinot Noir. It was ok, but not worth $17. Every employee we encountered from reception, to staff in the hallway, to the bartender were nice and friendly.

Yelp
Wonderfully unexpected night in Visalia. We came into town to visit Sequoia for the kiddos birthday and decided somewhat last minute to grab a nice dinner. After a quick search we came across @Elderwood and were quite happy we did. We were seated at a large table by the bar which worked out well as we were traveling with a 5 year old who can be a bit noisy at times. We were promptly greeted by our waitress for drinks and she was extra attentive to my kiddo which was awesome. Got the pork belly and the burrata appetizer and both were delicious but the pork was a favorite for sure, so good! For mains we opted for steak and fish and both very super tasty. The steak was a perfect medium rare, exactly as it should be. Finished those off and were surprised with a delicious slice of carrot cake complete with a candle for the birthday girl. If in the area definitely recommend.
google avatar

Steffie P.

Yelp
Decided to make the drive and try this place for brunch. The restaurant itself is located upstairs from the main lobby of the hotel. I sat inside just because it was a bit cold during my visit. The service was attentive and friendly. The matcha drink was my favorite. The espresso martini was also better than most I've tried. The steak chilaquiles plate was a good size and the chips were crunchy. I ordered a side of potatoes to go with my crab cake Benedict. The serving was a little smaller than I anticipated. The potatoes were seasoned well and cooked perfectly. I would definitely love to come back for dinner when the weather is warmer.

Yelp
Wonderful bar area, in the summer outside seating isn't recommended. Unless you're dressed for the beach

Yelp
Sitting outside was beautiful! The food was delicious! The drinks not so great. Not a variety which was disappointing. I would recommend this place. I'm going to try it again soon.

Yelp
First visit for Brunch on a Friday morning, nice rooftop restaurant and lounge with patio or inside dining. High top tables with a great view while sipping on coffee. Menu: I liked their eggs Benedict with smoked ham and asparagus, but poached egg was a lil over cooked. French toast nice crispy cornflakes crust with berries and whipped cream, croissant breakfast Sandwich and a side bowl of fruit. Service was great! Weather was nice with a cool breeze around 10am

Yelp
Came from Fresno to come here to celebrate two of our Yelp friend's birthday. Elderwood is located at the very top of The Darling Hotel. The outside of this building is gorgeous. It really stands out with the white and black. The lobby once you walk to the second floor is very cute as well. It's giving an old lux feel. We got seated in a semi rounded booth and were greeted by our waiter soon after. I got the South Fork Mimosa that was so good. I was recommended by the waiter to try the Eggs Benedict Crab Cake and I am so happy he did. Loved a good Benedict. My egg was nice and oozy, the crab cake was yummy, and the side of asparagus was delicious. The presentation of it all was beautiful as well, so vibrant in color. I couldn't wait to dig in. It was quite filling, I was stuffed after. I got to try my friend's espresso martini and it was soooOO so good! She said it was one of the best one she ever tried. I totally recommend trying this if you like coffee! They have a beautiful outdoor patio that you access both side on the roof. Plenty of seating outdoors and it's nicely shaded! The view is quite amazing as well! Thank you Robert who took the group photo of us and being a good sport! He was so nice. I had a great experience and would definitely come back.

Yelp
I have been here twice for brunch, but this was our first time going for dinner. It was an amazing meal!!! We started with drinks. I had The Darling and my husband had the All Falls Down. Both were delicious, light and slightly sweet. For an appetizer we had the Roasted Beet Rosettes, which was insanely delicious! I would go back just for this dish! For our entree I had the Seared Scallops and my husband had the Beef Wellington which were both delicious and flavorful. We sat on the patio, which I was worried would be cold since it was in November, but they had plenty of heaters and it was very enjoyable. Our service was also fantastic, and since we were there for my husband's birthday, we got a free creme brûlée which was one of the best creme brûlées I've ever had!

Yelp
First, the remodeled hotel is very nice. Truly, Art Deco themed. The front desk concierge gave us a tour of two of their nicest King suites. Beautiful rooms. Now for the restaurant, food was great to meh. We ordered Chilaquiles with steak, Chicken Sandwich, Eggs Benedict w/Crab Cakes, Pork Belly Burrito. Chilaquiles were crispy, flavorful, cheesy and the steak was thinly sliced. Chicken Sandwich was crunchy and your typical sandwich. They had no pork belly, so that sucked. If you read the Yelp posts, their pork belly is one of their top items. Nevertheless, they subbed chicken instead....Meh. The Eggs Benedict were delicious, but the crab cake was soggy and lacked flavor and crab. Looked like a piece of flat stuffing. Not a crab cake at all. They are definitely on top of the list for their mixed drinks. You can have their listed drinks or experiment. I experienced different flavored martinis with a grapefruit base. Super freaking delicious. Friend with me had the chocolate martini and this was a thumbs up. Other standard mixed drinks were delicious. We sat in patio. Very nice day today. Crowd is a bit young 22-32. Kinda of a dress to impress place to see who is there (outside in patio). Inside is more family oriented. Lighting inside was dark. Worth a visit for drinks!

Yelp
I made a reservation for a Sunday morning, it wasn't busy and probably didn't need a reservation. Food was delish! And server was attentive and friendly!

Yelp
The ambience of this restaurant is beautiful. My husband and I came on a Saturday night--it was really easy to get a reservation with the Resy app. We had the spicy shrimp for an appetizer and it was really tasty. My husband ordered the New York steak with mashed potatoes and let me just say it's easily one of the best steaks I've ever eaten. I ordered the chicken with fingerling potatoes and that was delicious too. We also ordered pumpkin cheesecake for dessert and it was the perfect ending to our meal. Parking is across the street from the hotel that the restaurant is on top of. I'd highly recommend this place! Our server didn't check in with us as much as we liked but otherwise, top notch!
google avatar

Diane M.

Yelp
Elderwood is a very cute restaurant in the town! I tried a few items for dinner and really enjoyed the Brussels sprouts and hierloom tomato burrata. These choices were light and refreshing!
google avatar

Justin M.

Yelp
Is it just me, or does the bar have a certain Overlook Hotel vibe in all the best Kubrick kinda way? Head off to left or right as you enter, hopefully to your table reservation after a drink, and you'll be greeted by a beautiful space overlooking the city. Realize you've hit romantic pay dirt if you are here with your main squeeze. Food was priced well for what I chewed, and although I did not sample the Beef Wellington, my eyes dined on the view of several plates of the dish that looked killer. Me? That steak with the onion salsa was calling. Is that some nopales too... maybe? And do enjoy that red wine reduction.
google avatar

Harut F.

Yelp
We enjoyed our mimosas and brunch here. Not too much to complain about as far as quality of food and drinks. The rooftop setting is really enjoyable and would love to try out their sunset dinners someday. A few things to consider: -You may have to wait an additional 15-20 minutes even with a reservation. -the elevator to the restaurant may not always be possible as it is an historic building and tends to take more care to fix. With that in mind, the only other way to get to the roof is by taking the stairs. Not easily accessible for everyone.

Sohan S.

Yelp
Went to this spot for the drinks and ambience. It was located inside the darling hotel and heads up, it's a trek up some flights of stairs to get here . Ordered the mostly sunny and the shrimp bites pictured below. The drink was delicious and it lasted me the whole meal. The shrimp was also very tasty and crispy, although the lettuce felt kinda out of place. The server was very nice and hospitable and the ambience is great. It screams great gatsby on the inside but on the outside is a remarkable view of the sierra nevada mountains overlooking the central valley plains. Would visit again.
google avatar

Yelp
Patio party's animal friendly. No coupons given here. Tap room with Excellent beer's for every one's race.
google avatar

Miranda R.

Yelp
This was a amazing place to eat! The salmon was out of this world delicious. My fiancé ordered the steak medium-rare and it was cooked to perfection. We also had the buratta appetizer and it was delicious. Our waitress was great but the drinks took a little longer than they should have. Decor was nice and the outside patio has a great view. We sat inside.
google avatar

Julie S.

Yelp
Not the romantic ambiance we expected. It's like picnic tables with sparse decor. A few twinkle lights would have added a lot. Food is mediocre. Service in the bar was non existent.

Loretta W.

Yelp
Our reservation for an outdoor table was for 8:00 p.m. We were given an indoor table because our table wasn't ready yet. We were finally seated outdoors at 8:50 p.m. I would not recommend this restaurant if you want outdoor seating because apparently it doesn't matter if you have a reservation.
google avatar

Jason S.

Yelp
We had my fiancé Christmas party here great food and desserts and the room was great beautiful inside

Rondelle R.

Yelp
We ordered 3 entree - 2 were luke warm at best. Sent them back to be warmed up, came back slightly warmer. The third entree (Salmon was hot and yummy). The servers were very nice, but clueless, clearly not trained in the art of enhancing a fine dining experience - they apologized but were fairly ignorant that their role in fine dining is being attentive - not just putting the food on the table and apologizing for late cocktails and tardy appetizer's. Disappointed. Will be back for appetizers and drinks but not a place for fine dining. The price did not justify the meal.

Yelp
The setting is beautiful and the entire Darling Hotel smells divine. Like sandalwood and cedar. Be prepared to walk a few flights of stairs to get there. Once you are seated, especially at sunset, you are treated to an expansive view of downtown Visalia. We started with fun drinks. I was boring and got bubbles form New Mexico. Who knew?! The only dish that prevented this place from getting 5 stars was the aubergine. And it's sad because it was also the one I was most looking forward to. It was so so so salty!!! I couldn't even tell it's as eggplant - it was so salty. But the service the ambiance the views all top notch!
google avatar

Troy W.

Yelp
Good service. Fair food. Price is a bit much but I think no one's getting around that anymore.
google avatar

Valeria A.

Yelp
We were visiting Visalia from out of town for a wedding and we were highly recommended this place. Side note, if you visit please note it's inside a hotel (super cool hotel). It has a nice view of the city via the rooftop. We were quickly sat and thankfully by the heater. Staff was super nice and the menu is pretty simple. You can see in the pics what we ordered and I will say the chilaquiles was my least favorite. I later realized the waiter didn't ask how I wanted my meat but it was too well done for my liking. Crab cakes in the eggs benny was delicious. Bloody Maria hit the spot! If ever visiting Visalia. I recommend this to be on your list of must eat places.

Yelp
The service was standard, the view from the roof top was nice. The drinks and coffee were good but we also had brunch. The fruit bowl was terrible, gray/brown rotten strawberries and pineapple chunks included the hard part of the core..... the 2 egg breakfast wasn't any better than Dennys. We spent a lot of money for a table 5 $$$ my opinion not worth the price.

Yelp
This place is all about ambiance, food is not worth the money. My cocktail was good tho.

Yelp
I agree with all the reviewers that love the atmosphere, but the food was a letdown. My first time there was for dinner this week. Went with my family. Really a cool hotel. The covered rooftop restaurant could easily become a favorite. Perfect weather and breeze. Busy for sure. It looks like Elderwood wants to be know for interesting food. They succeed there. Our group has two New York steaks (their top steak) ordered Medium Rare and salmon with jalapeño rice cake. The steaks had an interesting presentation of being cut in half and each piece stacked at an angle to the other. Both steaks were cooked Medium. The salmon may have been cooked 45 seconds too long. It was sitting on top of the oversized rice cake. It looked funny. The asparagus side was overcooked. The duck fat fingerling potatoes were a hit. So was the buratta appetizer. The service was good. All appropriate adjustments were made. I wish there was a Bus Boy for bringing water and refills quicker. All in all, if you're going to be at the high end of the market in terms of price, then the execution has to be perfect. Otherwise, this becomes a special occasion place, but not on a regular rotation like, say, Vintage Press. Definitely go just for the atmosphere. People like it as a bar/appetizer venue. I lived in LA for a while. The Standard Hotel rooftop bar in Downtown was the scene.

Yelp
We were seated promptly in the outside area, which was very nice. They have fans that blow cool air around the dining area, which made it very pleasant. If the good had been better, it would have really bumped up the number of stars. The burrata, even though recommended by our server, was bland and lacked seasoning.

Yelp
Classy, comfortable, inviting and delicious. The service was impeccable Dominic was knowledgeable and helpful when it came to picking out what to try. He was kind and a delight to have as our server. The food was impeccable, I had the salmon po boy which is new to the menu. This is a must try if you like salmon and avocado. The iced vanilla latte and seasonal scone were a perfect pairing to start with. Originally I was going to have the eggs Benedict which I'll have to try next time. We had a large group for a friends birthday brunch and we definitely will be returning. The Elderwood deserves 10 stars and was worth every penny.

Yelp
Patio setting was nice & kept comfortably warm for a night with scattered showered. Food was great. Only hiccup was they didn't have the POL ROGER champagne bottle my gf wanted for her bday so we had to opt for another. The service was prompt initially but could use a slight improvement. Overall good experience.
