"The newest lounge in Las Vegas brings a visually stunning room combined with the cocktails the Dorsey and Rosina have made famous. Electra Cocktail Club at the Palazzo debuts with a 127-seat bar right on the casino floor. Barman Sam Ross of The Dorsey and Rosina fame created the cocktail list at Electra, focusing on rums, agricoles, and mezcals behind the bar. A peach daiquiri comes with white rum, rhum agricole, peach, and lime, while a frozen version of the Dorsey’s Penicillin, dubbed the Penichillin, combines lemon, ginger, honey, and smoky Scotch. Other specialty drinks include the Trouble Maker with vodka, sweet vermouth, cucumber, lemon, and strawberry; Pina Verde with Green Chartreuse, fresh pineapple, lime, coconut, and a dash of cream; and the Age of Aquarius with mezcal, passionfruit, lime, honey and Campari. Drinkers find a digital display spanning 40 feet that serves as a focal point, decked out with original art displayed with more than one billion colors. The artwork displayed provides story lines that unfold throughout the evening. Simeone Deary Design Group under a consulting agreement with Gensler created the look for the space, which features a chandelier with more than1,200 points of light, teal accents, brass, granite, etched metals, and custom wall coverings. Visitors can sit at one of the sofas in the center of the room or head to lounge chairs with leather and metallic trim line that surround the perimeter. Brass high top tables run parallel to the 40-foot-long Carrara stone mosaic and black absolute stone bar. The fanciest stop in the cocktail lounge? A VIP corner banquette with 10 circles of 14-foot rings, several of which sparkle inside and out. On the ceiling, a suspended concave mirror with gold bands with faceted backlit crystals runs around the entire parameter. Electra is open daily from 4 p.m. to 3 a.m." - Susan Stapleton
