Electric Bleu - Review - Mar Vista - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"True to its name, there’s a giant electric blue slab shooting out of the restaurant’s roof like a lightning bolt. This new French-ish bistro in Mar Vista comes from the former Shirley Brasserie chef, but it’s got more of a punk rock theme going than anything resembling a Parisian cafe. The menu keeps it mostly classic with mains like rotisserie chicken and steak au poivre with peppercorn-cognac sauce, and starters like salmon rillettes and chicken liver mousse. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists. RESERVE A TABLE" - Cathy Park

Electric Bleu is a gem in Mar Vista! We started with the Electric Fries (crispy, golden, and addictive), warm bread with butter, and a beautifully prepared lobster starter that stole the show. For mains, the fish was perfectly cooked and flaky, the steak had a great sear with a rich sauce, and the duck was juicy with crisp skin. Everything felt thoughtful and well-balanced. The space is cozy yet stylish, service is warm, and the food really shines. If you’re in the mood for modern French bistro flavors with a California twist, this spot is worth the visit. Don’t skip the fries!

Had oysters, corn soup with fritters, roast chicken & chocolate mousse. Food was excellent. My pics are awful as I can never remember to take them when food hits the table. So here’s my half eaten dishes lol Nice vibe. We sat at the chefs counter which has a great view of the open kitchen. Seats at the chefs counter are very comfortable. Service was friendly and food came out at a good pace. I definitely recommend it if you’re near Mar Vista.

Dynamite new bistro. So much vibe, beautiful lighting & interiors, indoor, outdoor, and bar seating. Intimate, busting, fun, carefree and somehow at the same time, sophisticated. Seasonal menu. We had heirloom tomato’s which were exceptional. Chicken liver mousse. Baguette served warm with salted butter. Great wine list. Steak to order. And a disco in the bathroom!

Google
Spectacular liver mousse, dauphinois cheese puffs, perfectly cooked skate. What a delight. Flavorful but clean. Nothing too overbearing. Black truffle Camembert for dessert - why not! Would like to try everything on the menu. Extremely talented, experienced chef from some of NYC’s best French restaurants like Picholine and Le Circe

Electric Bleu is an absolute gem. The food is clearly the star here and every single dish was phenomenal. We got the tasting menu and were blown away! Dishes that look simple have complex flavors and the sauces — WOW! We adored the duck, but the chicken and pepper steak were going to diners all around us and looked incredible. Also, loved sitting at the bar and watching the action in the kitchen. The chef/owner even stopped by to see how we were enjoying our meal. Huge plus that they have seasonal dishes. The tomato salad (one of their seasonal offferings) was getting rave reviews from diners on both sides and looked incredible (I don’t even like tomatoes but I want to try this dish!). When we left we promptly made our next reservation. Can’t wait to try everything on their menu. Also worth noting that their prices were on the mark. Absolutely recommend Electric Bleu!

Google
Lovely restaurant! Super cute and classy on the inside. We were lucky enough to come on Halloween so they had a DJ who was super groovy. The food was amazing- fav is definitely the electric fries. I would come back just for those. Our waitress was very nice and a great help with recommendations. I personally prefer cocktails (which they don't have yet because they're new) but hoping to come back when/if they get that.

Google
We dined in several times, and the food has been beautifully delectable. Chef Craig created an experience that completely transformed the definition of neighborhood fine dining without pretension. The food is wonderfully refined, the setting is beautifully robust without being overtly elitist. This restaurant hits the spot for a subdued yet elegant regular stop. It feels gastronomically great yet not pretentious. I love the vibe it possesses. Food is a living and breathing experience, and I felt real connectedness being there. The service staff is super passionate and possess a level of energy not seen elsewhere. Way da go owners! What gift it is to have a beautiful local bistro in our elegant yet sleepy bedroom community.

Google
I almost don’t want to write this because soon it’s going to be impossible to get a reservation here. First off, my partner has a ton of food allergies, and the staff handled everything flawlessly. Huge points for that. We started with a half dozen oysters, fresh, cold, and perfect. They came with lemon, horseradish, mignonette, and (by request) a little hot sauce. Simple, classic, and delicious. The heirloom tomato salad was next, and it tasted like summer. Juicy tomatoes tossed in a vinaigrette that was just right—not too salty, not too acidic. Definitely grab a baguette and use it to soak up what’s left on the plate. The fig and eggplant dish was a standout. The smokiness of the fig with the creamy eggplant purée was such a good combo, unexpected and so good. Then came the halibut, cooked perfectly. It sat on a fresh herb purée that tied it all together. I just wanted a little more of that sauce because it was so good. We sat at the chef’s counter, which I highly recommend. Watching the kitchen work while getting such great service made the whole meal even better. Run, don’t walk. This is hands down the best restaurant in Mar Vista right now.

Yelp
I loved this place! I love the vibe and the staff are all super friendly. It's giving Bell's Los Alamos vibes (IYKYK) Very Franch Delicious food, amazing music and yet down to earth and approachable crowd. They were super kid friendly but didn't have a kids menu per se. Our kids eat adult food off our plates because we're too cheap haha We will be back and so glad to have this spot in the hood!!!

Yelp
First of all, love that Mar Vista has a local restaurant , we were able to walk to such a great place. The food was outstanding, we ordered the potato dauphine and raw tuna escabeche appetizers and they were both perfect, the chive dip goes crazy on the potato dish. I ordered a roast chicken (perfect) and my girlfriend ordered the seafood Bouillabaisse and the depth of flavor was exquisite. We also got the green beans with the mustard vinegar sauce and they were also to die for, I didn't even like green beans until today. Overall very cool vibe and very excited to come back!!! Bravo to the chefs and everyone there.

Yelp
What an experience. The service was outstanding and super fun. Maybe it was where we sat but we had so much fun talking to everyone. The chicken was so juicy, the electric fries woooow. Kept eating. The prawns were ok but in the end everything was so good.

Yelp
We had a great dinner at Electric Bleu! We ordered everything that our waitress recommended to us. The tomato salad was a star- the dressing on it was flavorful and delicious! We ordered a baguette to dip in the dressing per our waitresses recommendation. The steak au poivre was cooked perfectly and the flavor was great. It was very tender. The French fries were great dipped in the sauce (I thought the fries were too salty, but my friends really enjoyed them so just personal preference). The chicken was juicy and the sauce and potatoes it came with were delicious. We also loved the dauphine potatoes with the chive aioli. We felt like the desserts were the best part- the chocolate mousse (available every week) reminded us of the texture of mousse in Paris which is so hard to find! The rice pudding was the special of the week (they do a special each week) and we loved it! The restaurant is super cute (a little tight with some 2 seater tables in the middle of the walking space) Overall highly recommend!

Yelp
Electric Bleu - A Hidden Gem Worth Every Bite Our first visit to Electric Bleu tonight was absolutely unforgettable. Two of my friends had highly recommended this place, and now I completely understand why. Everything--from the food to the atmosphere and service--was exquisite. I had the tasting menu, which began with a delicate tuna dish in a flavorful broth with smashed avocado--so fresh and delicious. The next course was perfectly grilled cod served with sautéed spinach--simple, elegant, and done just right. Then came the duck, beautifully cooked with a rich pumpkin reduction sauce that was out of this world. To finish, they served a pear sorbet unlike anything I've ever had--light, refreshing, and perfectly balanced. My husband enjoyed the heirloom tomato salad with a bright, tangy dressing, followed by the roasted chicken, which was tender and full of flavor. He ended his meal with a chocolate mousse that was delightfully smooth and not overly sweet--just perfect. We paired our dinner with Fukuju Blue sake from Hyogo, which I loved. Our wonderful waiter even let me sample Malola Junmai Ginjo from Yamagata, which was excellent and such a thoughtful gesture. When he discovered I was from Hyogo, he mentioned that the owner, Mai, was too--and later she came by our table. Mai, the owner, is a beautiful, gracious woman with a true passion for food and drink. She told us that it was her idea to create a dedicated sake section on the drink menu, featuring a stunning selection from Hyogo, Miyagi, Saga, Fukushima, Kagawa, and Yamagata. Her list includes impressive varieties such as Daiginjo and Junmai Ginjo, offering a range rarely seen in Los Angeles. She laughed and said she's the kind of girl who prefers oysters on the half shell with sake instead of wine or champagne--so she made sure sake would be an integral part of her restaurant's identity. Since she's from Kobe, where the Fukuju Blue brewery is located, she personally brought that sake in, adding an authentic touch to the menu. Her thoughtful ideas and refined taste come together beautifully throughout the restaurant--it's clear that Electric Bleu is a perfect reflection of her vision and artistry. The entire staff was warm and professional, and our server Aimee B. was especially wonderful--attentive, personable, and genuinely kind. The ambience is elegant yet relaxed, with an intimate, sophisticated vibe that makes you want to linger. Everything about our evening was perfect. Electric Bleu has quickly become one of our new favorite spots in Los Angeles. We'll definitely be back--and I highly, highly recommend it to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience.

Yelp
So this little French spot in Mar Vista. Is quite a find. The Chef is doing some really tasty things from his very seasonal menu. I've been a few times, each visit gets more delicious. Now about the food. As mentioned the menu changes all the time which I love, because each time you visit there is something new to look forward to. Last night we had cod croquettes crunchy, flaky, and delicious, butternut squash soup and a tuna, and fennel Crudo. The soup was perfect and the tuna was a refreshing and bright dish that just made me happy. Now for the mains, the lamb was delightful, perfect medium, rare with charred veggies just an all-around winner as a dish. My wife had the Sea bass, flaky, rich, and delicious. If you have the pleasure of sitting at the chef's counter, not only do you see the workings of the kitchen, most of the plating of the food goes on in front of you.. That was our biggest trauma, you see although we're not really big dessert people. The talented crew kept cutting a passionfruit tart in front of us which I kept watching slowly diminished through orders, my only recourse was to order it out of tasting desperation, like everything we were not disappointed, tangy buttery with a side of crème fraîche just brought the whole thing together so good. Overall, this neighborhood restaurant is a gem to be found, you'll be happy that you did. It's a good time, run by people that know how to serve you and make you feel special. I will be visiting often

Yelp
Wow fire time here and this is one of my favorite restaurants of all times now! Started off the night so welcomed and had some wine while we waited for our table. I never cared for over the top service but their service is impeccable. It's not over the top but feels genuine and welcoming. Every person working there gave us the feeling of genuine care and love for what they do. It feels like a little neighborhood corner of France. It's such a romantic and lovely restaurant! We sat at the chef's counter, which is such an experience! You can experience the magic of the chef's skills and care to each dish. You can even watch them prep and taste the next new dish! Had the baguette/butter, chicken, and fries. The baguette was the best baguette I have ever had. The rotisserie chicken was amazing as well. Even the fries tasted over the top. I am not even exaggerating when I say this spot was over the top amazing!

Yelp
The service was exceptional. The food is amazing. The ambience is, French Parisian bistro. Will for sure be going back.

Yelp
In the former home of the Rustic Kitchen lies a hip, new French Bistro, Electric Bleu led at the helm by Chef Craig Hopson. Fresh from Hollywood's Shirley Brasserie and New York's Le Cirque, Hopson serves up some might fine French bistro cuisine right here in Mar Vista. Slide into a cozy banquette and take in the beautiful glass wine display case. Roast chicken like you've never tasted before and Liver Mousse with caramelized onion crackers highlight the small menu. In addition you will find classic French faire such as Steak Au Poivre with green peppercorns cognac sauce. We enjoyed the Brentwood Corn Soup with layers of flavor including the crab-basil beignets. We also enjoyed the flavorful duck, the potatoes with chive dip, and the electric fries with chicken salt. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
An amazing neighborhood gem. But it's more than that...every single thing we tried was so delicious and the service was great. Don't skip the warm baguette with French salted butter. It'll go with everything you order. Roasted chicken & steak au poivre were excellent with a side of fries. My favorite hands down was the pate en croute. Everything tasted as if you were in France at a bistro and the wine list is perfect too. The manager and staff were so attentive and made our dinner amazing!

Yelp
So glad they opened up quickly. Love having them in the neighborhood. I love how they have remodeled this restaurant to have so much more bar seating - and seating in general. Very nice decor. Had very good oysters - hard to find in Mar Vista.

Yelp
Where to even start with how fabulous this spot is. Impeccable cuisine that blew our minds. Shout out to the corn soup and duck breast that were perfectly prepared. The service was 5 star. When we had a little mix up on the steak, the team came back with the right temperature in less than 10 minutes. The gm / sommelier Benjamin knew exactly which wine would pair with our meal and we were digging the casual, 80s disco vibe. We are bringing everyone we know here to give them a true taste of what great cuisine LA has to offer.

Yelp
I really wanted to love it. It's in my neighborhood and so very close to my house, but sadly, I was disappointed. We sat out on the patio, which would have been great, but the sidewalk slide down hill so I was leaning back considerably. Plus, the tables are slippery. We ordered wine, the tomato heirloom salad, the chicken and the peppers. The tomato salad arrived before the wine did and was simply tomatoes with a few slivers of onions in a light dressing. No garnish and not much to look at. We were disappointed that it didn't come with crackers or a piece of toast as when we finished the salad, we had a bowl of dressing on the table and nothing to sop it up with. We'd been told to have the chicken--which the server said came with Yukon potatoes. The chicken and peppers arrived 20 minutes later. The chicken was probably the best part of the meal but the potatoes the server had mentioned we're barely there. There were four small pieces. The pepper sauce was heavy and overpowered the charred peppers, which came with the stems on. When we finished, we sat with dirty plates on the table for a good 30 minutes before someone came out to the patio to clear them. The server finally brought the check and we paid and left out the back gate. I didn't feel like I connected with the staff and no one seemed to want to know what we thought of our experience there. Oh well. Maybe it's because the place is new? Oh, and The sancerre from the loire valley was delish.

Yelp
My wife, a few friends and I shared a most enjoyable brunch at the newly opened Electric Bleu! We have enjoyed ourselves previously at other restaurants where Chef Craig has been at the helm. But here in his new setting with creative touches from his wife and design partner, the setting really allows his food to shine in a perfect setting. The menu, service, pacing, and presentation of each item was perfect. Some items were classic French (e.g., rillettes, duck liver mouse) served so elegantly. Other fare was a bit more casual and comforting including the Salmon, Roast Chicken, Roasted Corn with Peppers and some of the most truly delicious French Fries ever tasted. In short, I think they may have created a new genre. A blending of two well-known and different types dining experiences: Truly Gourmet/Epicurean and Comfort Food. Electric Bleu does both so well I can only think of describing to my friends as: Epicurean Comfort Food!

Yelp
This was our second time eating here, and it again did not disappoint! The food is amazing, buttery pâté to start is a must. We then had a lobster mushroom and eggplant dish that blew my mind. It was so meaty and bursting with a bright umami sauce. It took everything in me not to lick the plate. The star of the night really was the roasted chicken. What sounds like such a simple dish was so well executed that it has me thinking about it the next day! Their fabulous service and an even more fabulous wine menu, has us so excited to have this place in the neighborhood. I'll be back for another glass of Bandol Rosé soon.

Yelp
This is an authentic French bistro. The food is sauce-centric and layered with flavors. We ordered the pate en croute, lobster mushrooms, smoked salmon blini, and the lamb. I would repeat all of these delightful dishes! They have patio seating if you choose to bring your pup along and the staff is attentive and friendly!

Yelp
The greatest thing to hit Mar Vista since the opening of Beethoven Market is the opening of Electric Bleu, a French bistro which I consider one of the best restaurants not only on the west side but in all of Los Angeles. Australian native Chef Craig Hopson and his team put together a tight, but extremely delicious and flawless menu highlighted by their perfectly roasted chicken a la francaise... the real thing, not easily found anywhere outside of Paris. From their crispy fresh baguette to their candy-like, mind bending heirloom tomato salad, to the pate en croute to their perfectly roasted duck, every dish, and I mean every dish, is more delicious than the next. The vibe, the uber friendly atmosphere and service make Electric Bleu a must for anyone looking for a 5 star dinner experience.

Peter B.

Yelp
I can't say enough about my experience at Electric Bleu. I had high hopes and it did not disappoint. Our group ordered the baguette, smoked salmon blini, heirloom tomato salad, octopus, roasted chicken and fries. My favorite was the smoked salmon blini but all were delicious. The wait staff were very friendly and helpful. I'm looking forward to my next visit I'll definitely be recommending Electric Bleu to all my friends!
google avatar

Omid O.

Yelp
Let's dive into the incredible steak Au Poivre, which my wife ordered--she proclaimed it even surpasses l'entrecôte she enjoyed in Paris! The tomato salad was bursting with flavor, and the baguette was so authentic, it felt like we had just stepped into a Parisian boulangerie. The only bittersweet note was the lobster mushroom; it was delightful but no sign of lobster, purely mushrooms and eggplants, which is fine, but size wise more fitting as an appetizer rather than a main course! otherwise, a very friendly staff.

Gabrielle B.

Yelp
Our party of five dined at Electric Bleu last night, and it was a fantastic experience. The staff easily accommodated our last-minute additional guest, and the service throughout the evening was warm, friendly, and attentive. Every dish was outstanding--approachable yet elevated--and it's rare to find French food this good in L.A. The portions were perfect for sharing, and we sampled ten dishes from the menu without a single miss. The space is warm and inviting, with easy street parking, and we'll definitely be adding Electric Bleu to our regular rotation. A wonderful new addition to the Westside.

Caroline G.

Yelp
Lovely new restaurant offering delicious French dishes, wonderful staff and great drinks, including the champagne! Steak, chicken, fries string beans and potato balls are a MUST try. Herb greens complement the meats. We have been here twice so far, the Oysters are actually amazing too. Sit at the chefs counter for an experience. Overall, the restaurant feels inviting, homey and intimate, and the food hits the spot. Makes you want to come back.

David B.

Yelp
I've only been once (so far) but from that experience I can say the food is something you will remember for a long time, several items in our group approached perfection. The service was a cut above, attentive but relaxed. It was noisy but in a happy way - people were enjoying themselves. Make reservations ahead as this place will only get more popular.

Yelp
Soooooo good. Everything sooo good. I can't say enough about this place. Just go. Great for a date night.

Kathleen W.

Yelp
Food is incredible. Staff is friendly, attentive and fun. Wine options are plentiful with great suggestions. Love hanging out at the bar but also great sitting outside. Again service has been impeccable. A must try.

Yelp
Love the food. Very casual. Please play french music. We had loud rock and roll. Get rid of the dying orchid and make everyone wear white t shirts and jeans and you got it

Brady R.

Yelp
My fiancé and I decided to try this new restaurant for a special occasion. We had heard raving reviews about both the service and the food, and both surpassed our expectations! Our server Emily led us in the right direction in both the wine and food options. For appetizers we got the tomato salad, the salmon blini, and the baguette with butter. The freshness and acidity of the tomato salad was amazing and unlike any other tomato salad I've ever had! If you love smoked salmon, the salmon blini is a must. And the baguette with butter was extremely authentic, the butter was so good we took some home! For entrees, we got the black cod and the steak au poivre. The black cod was delicious and delicate, and the perfect portion size. The steak au poivre was cooked to perfection and the sauce was authentic. For dessert, we had the chocolate mouse and passion fruit tart. The chocolate mouse was decadent and delicious, with good textures. The passionfruit tart was out of this world, and is only there for a limited time so is a must try! Benjamin, the manager made sure we had a special night which far exceeded our expectations. We are looking forward to coming back soon!

Emma G.

Yelp
We are so excited to have Electric Bleu in the neighborhood. We were extremely impressed with the service and loved our dishes. Highlights included the tomato salad, the smoked salmon blini, and their signature chicken.

Ben K.

Yelp
Was very excited to see a French spot opened in the neighborhood. I did both the wine tasting and the pre fix menu, I highly recommend both, they're a great value. The food was excellent and blended California ingredients / flavors terrifically. I highly recommend for those looking for California French flare. The service was also great. I look forward to returning in the future.

Yelp
Incredible Food and service. We sat at the chefs bar and you're facing the kitchen. It's such a treat to watch them prepare the food. The assembly line was like a well oiled machine. Staff was lively and accommodating. We can't wait to go again

Susanne K.

Yelp
We love this restaurant. Wine was fantastic. Bread was fantastic. Our entree (both chicken and steak) were excellent. Took home passion fruit tart (excellent). Wonderful review AND we had a wonderful server: JESSICA is knowledgeable and kind as well as having a cheerful personality. We were treated beautifully by all. We are sold. Our neighborhood fave now.

Yelp
Great addition to the neighborhood! Great food, especially the salmon rillette and corn soup! Great service and staff.

Rod P.

Yelp
The Electric Bleu Crew was really fantastic. Sammy greeting you, Amy our server, Benjamin the GM all made us feel very welcome. The restaurant was busy but not packed and this made for a nice moderate noise level. The food was great, we selected the Tasting menu and some great bread and delicious butter! We will be back. Merci!

Nikoo B.

Yelp
This place was such a wonderful surprise! Food was delicious and the service couldn't have been better. The whole experience felt pleasant and unhurried -- we never felt rushed, just genuinely taken care of. What stood out most was the atmosphere. It was such a breath of fresh air to enjoy high-quality, beautifully prepared food in a space that feels relaxed and fun, without any of the stuffiness or pretension you so often find at LA restaurants. We'll definitely be back and only wish we lived closer so we could make this a regular spot!

Jerome L.

Yelp
Outstanding meal!! Great buzzy atmosphere at this small neighborhood restaurant. The duck and octopus dishes were delicious as was the heirloom tomato salad starter. Super friendly and great service!!!

Mariah H.

Yelp
Hesitant to write a review only because it's already so busy and I don't want to have trouble getting a table at my new favorite neighborhood spot. The food is incredible, perfectly seasoned and sauced and the wine list is fantastic, greater breadth of French varietals than you find at similar places in California. Always look forward to a meal here!

Yelp
Our group was so excited to check out Electric Bleu and this restaurant did not disappoint. The ambiance was casual and lively with an open kitchen concept. The best part is they were playing all the best 80s and 90s music!! Our server was incredible, recommending some great selections for our group to dine family style. He was warm, knowledgeable, and very attentive to our group. The warm baguette and chicken liver mousse are a must order! The salmon blini wasn't our favorite but we had so many amazing dishes that it wasn't a big deal. The steak au poivre was cooked perfectly medium rare and well seasoned. The star of the night was the signature chicken! I'm pretty sure I have never had chicken breast that moist and tender before. Fries with the chicken salt were also a big hit but they do get salty when you get to the bottom. We had a great time and dining experience and can't wait to come back again.

Lauren G.

Yelp
This food was sooooooooo legit. Restaurants in LA are a mess right now. Chicken was insane, heirloom tomato salad with baguette dipped in it, local greens, WINE. Such smart wine!!!! The caramel rice pudding dessert was delicious. The only thing we had any remote qualm with were the fries which were over seasoned, but it looked like we might have just gotten an aggressively seasoned batch because other people seemed to have less salt. Best meal we've had in LA in a long time. Was feeling like Anajak Thai is the only good spot but this was wonderful! The staff is wonderful!!!!!! Even my husband, who is usually a naysayer and fairly talented cook himself thought it was excellent.

Rick O.

Yelp
Ever single appetizer, entree, or drink that was brought to a table of four was perfectly prepared and uniquely delicious. Subtle and scintillating, at the same time. Wonderful service as well. Thank you!

Ruby W.

Yelp
This brand new restaurant is so excellent. Get a reservation while you still can. I am blasting it on my social media platforms because they deserve to have a line around the block. Chef Hobson is the real deal. From the homemade baguettes and butter, to the tangy gazpacho, to the cognac glazed steak. Every bite was delicious.

Cynthia C.

Yelp
Excellent food and service. Wonderful dining experience sitting at the chef's counter or at a table!

George C.

Yelp
Inconsistent This was our first visit during the restaurant's first month. Hostess was very welcoming and the waitperson described her recommendations for appetizers and mains (we followed her recommendations and she was right on). We both ordered the same items: Baguette and Butter, Dauphine Potatoes, Heirloom Tomato Salad and Steak au Poivre, medium rare. The Baguette was very hot (no complaint here), but as compared to the next table's Baguette, it was quite burned. The Baguette is served in a paper bag, whimsical and kind of practical as one could pull off pieces without spreading crust crumbs everywhere. Dauphine Potatoes: I expected the traditional scalloped potatoes, but this was a different version of fried mashed potato puffs with an herbed butter sauce (they were tasty, and admittedly this is a personal taste - I hate tarragon and I only tried one bit of the sauce). The Heirloom Tomato Salad was beautifully presented with chunks of tomato in a wonderful natural sauce - this small salad was exquisite. And finally, the Steaks au Poivre: mine was perfectly cooked medium rare, although the sauce was a bit too piquant for my taste; my partner's medium rare steak had nary a trace of pink and the end pieces were tough. I guess we should have sent it back, but we wanted to continue eating together without a delay. The atmosphere is nice and service was peremptory. We noticed a thin young guy with an accent warmly embracing some patrons as they arrived and spending quite a bit of time at various tables chatting up the patrons. I thought he should at least have made the effort to drop by with a simple "how are you enjoying your dinner?". We felt like chopped liver. Prices were on the high side, exacerbated by an unexpected "CA Admin" fee of 4% in addition to the Tax. I have no idea what the 4% fee was for.

L. B.

Yelp
We came here recently, expecting to visit Rustic Kitchen. We were surprised to see this new restaurant instead. We appreciated that they fit us in without a reservation. The plates are on the small side and not exactly cheap. However, everything we tried was mostly good. The mushroom dish with eggplant was a standout. We would have loved more fish/vegetarian options, as well. Although the 80s playlist was familiar, we felt the music was too loud for a conversation, overall. Since they are going for a French vibe, we wondered why there wasn't more French music played. All of the staff we interacted with was great, including the hostess, the person who cleared our plates, etc. Celso, behind the bar, was especially kind, as he helped us celebrate a birthday.

Irina A.

Yelp
The restaurant was very busy but everyone was very nice and accommodating. We sat in the bar area and the bar tender was very attentive. All restaurant operations seem very organized which was pleasant to watch. The food we got were very good. I do think there was a little too much orange in the fish that overtook the taste of the halibut itself. The steak was excellent and so were the appetizers ( chicken liver pate and the potatoes poutine). I plan to return to Trey the famous chicken!

Myrna R.

Yelp
The restaurant is cozy and inviting, yet sleek and contemporary design. We had a few courses and they were all excellent and cooked to perfection. The frisée with the crispy pork belly salad was delicious I could drink a quart of that dressing! We shared fresh salmon in the most delectable hollandaise sauce and beef chuck with mushrooms with browned green onions on a bed of mashed potatoes was my favorite! Will be returning!

Yelp
Best new restaurant on the Westside! The food is absolutely incredible and the service is even better--Electric Bleu is truly a hidden gem in Mar Vista. Our waiter, Bilal, went above and beyond and made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Can't recommend this place enough--we'll definitely be back soon!

Yelp
I came here tonight for their first night of dinner service and I actually forgot it was their first night. Which I would say is a huge compliment to the chef and the team he has. I think one of the great things about Los Angeles is the fact that you can have a neighborhood restaurants that are exceptional. First off the redesign of the former restaurant utilizes the space about as well as they could've. It has a modern aesthetic. Some feedback for the team before I get into the food: I think the tables were too close together. We were practically touching the people sitting next to us and I think even removing one table and moving the others 4-6 inches would make a HUGE difference in letting people have an intimate dinner...I felt like I was in the other diners personal space and listening to their conversations. To start we ordered the dauphine potatoes- They were delicious - I wasn't sure if the inside was bread but it kind of had that texture. And the outside was perfectly crisp with a great dipping sauce. 10/10. We then had the heirloom tomato salad and I thought this was the weakest dish of the night. The vinaigrette it came with was tasty but It was just sliced tomatoes. I think adding mozzarella to the dish or something and calling it a caprese would add to it. It wasn't bad but we both agreed it needed more. We tried their signature rotisserie chicken which also came with a few potatoes. It came with a breast, a drumstick, and two thighs with one wing. It was enough for 2 to share and we had leftover. We also had the grilled corn which was solid as well. With tax and tip dinner was about $85, which in this day and age I would say is very reasonable for a well known chef like this. Excited to have Electric Bleu in the hood!

Yelp
Great restaurant and a wonderful addition to the neighborhood. This place is the kind of restaurant the area was missing. Food and service is 10/10.

Yelp
Was excited to try this new restaurant. It did not disappoint. We arrived a few minutes early and were immediately provided a glass of champagne while we waited. A great start. I agree with the reviews that said a table less would be perfect regarding space but we had a table in the middle that didn't feel too crowded. We shared the chopped liver mouse to start as it is a favorite of my wife. I generally am not a fan but this dish won me over. The corn soup with beignets was incredible. We shared the steak poivre and the duck and couldn't decide which was preferred. Basically my wife and I split the vote but loved both. The chocolate mousse was a nice ending but didn't provide the same "wow" everything else did. Overall the staff was attentive, friendly and capable. It seemed as if they had been operating for years not merely days. Highly recommend it and look forward to dining here again soon.
