Wonderful ambiance! Great Djs... It's definitely a great spot to check in the city a hidden Gem on the block

We randomly poped in here and had the most fun time! It’s like a cool underground club, you walk down a graffiti filled ramp to get inside. We were the only people there because we came early like 9:30 or 10 so we didn’t pay a cover, it got lit and the dj played some awesome mixes. Edm to some old school hop hop mixes. The drinks were strong and ambience was cool it’s a small place but really fun!

I came here with the promoter, the place is pretty small but it's kind of a cute hang out. I came here on a Wednesday night and the DJs set was okay, he kept playing a lot of old 80's music and not a lot of people were dancing. I would like to come back here again on a different night to see how it is. The bathrooms are very beautiful though if that counts for anything ha

Small little hole in the wall. Great place to take pics for the gram. Beware of the heavy handed bar tenders I swear I ordered a margarita but it tasted like jet fuel. One drink and I was gone.

Overrated and get you for your money. Not only did they kick me and my party out a whole HOUR before closing, hands were placed on my friends so they could "move" and get off the couches and dance floor. No no, we paid a nice $400+ just to get in and enjoy. Even if we the only ones there, 6+people, we spent barley any time at all not even being able to finish our tab. Worse part the manager, Dave, gave me his card for the "inconvenience" and has ignored my messages for the "friendly return" he promised my friends and I after security was rude just cause they wanted to go home. If I paid, I'm allowed the right to stay especially if they had NO REASON for closing earlier than time said and there was no prior explaining of closing early. Plus, paying for coat check, they really just want your money at the end of the day. Go somewhere else not in the area. Maybe TAO if you're down for the wait :) the one star is because I had an AMAZING bar tender for the most part. We couldn't finish our TAB like said, but the male bartender made the night great for the most part. I would give zero if it wasn't for him

Awful experience on a Friday night because of the distasteful bouncer, Ahmed. The unnecessarily rude sir, (light skin and dark curly hair), ruined our experience because he lacked any decency or respect. Wish we could have enjoyed Electric; unfortunately, Ahmed insisted on being difficult without rhyme or reason!

Came here with my gf and another couple after a dinner nearby. That was before the lockdown. Pretty cool place, a little bit crazy. We had a reservation and we’ve been seated on a cool couch with British flag pillows . The other couple had an anniversary and they met here some years ago, and they have the tradition to come back every year. I really liked how the place was lighted – the purple (obviously a signature color for the place) was like whispering – come and dance. It was a House party night and all four of us are huge fans. The other girl and my girlfriend hit the dance floor while the boys enjoyed their drinks. She ordered us some special cocktails, that can be found only here and they turned out to be a blast. I forgot their name but I’ll ask next time. Like I said – we went to the dance floor just after we arrived and dance until the place closed. Even we joined them at one point. The service was excellent. They were quick and managed to serve everyone in no time. I see that they have a schedule of events. I want to see the All Evil Saturdays. Hope that I’ll have that chance soon.

It's alright. Coolest part is the entrance that makes you feel like you're going to some sort of underground train station. Inside the energy depends on the DJ. Nice decoration. Drinks about what you expect for a NYC club (overpriced). Not that much space in the floor to feel like you have lots of people to meet, if you are not with a table.

Went for New Year's Eve, fun because it had couches and places to sit, drinks were fine. Very dark, kind of a pub vibe. Was super crowded because it was New Year's Eve but it was good

Candle for the b'day girl came in when nobody was at the table... The check arrived before the dessert was offered... That's how special you will feel at the Electric Lemon. I'm wondering if the waitress' bonus is tied to the speed of each table's turn-around. Otherwise, the food is great and not cheap. Pica are attached.

I came to Electric room with friends late on NYE and again on a Saturday night around 2am. On both occasions it was a lounge that never gets crowded, it's not really crowded at all actually. The DJ is very good, and it's a smaller lounge space, but it seems like the place you go to as an AFTER party much later in the night when you're winding down.

Cool atmosphere BUT when given my change at coat check by the woman for $100 she only gave me $90 which, by the way, is STEALING. Went to an event that was listed as free (1/2/19) but when I left the door was asking $50 from new guests. Very interesting business practices here...

Love it. DJ is a genius (at least the one last sat night)! This place is a ton of fun when not insanely packed. Like the decor. Drinks are ok, nothing too special. But it's really all about the energy and good vibes. Try to split up into smaller groups to get in easier. (But that's the case anywhere in meatpacking).

Hot Spot: Celebs like Miley Cyrus, Scarlett Johansson and Lindsay Lohan have been seen at this joint. Also NYC's in vogue, hipster night owls love this place. Best nights & time to visit: Best nights here are Monday (= currently my fave night. They spin deep house on Monday), Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and definitely SUNDAY night / model night when they only play hiphop. Don't show up at ER on Sunday night if you're not plugged into the nightlife scene, or if you don't have a big party budget, because they only offer 3 tables with bottle service that night, at around $600,- a bottle. Best time to show up is around 2 AM. Yes: Late. Crowd: Eclectic. Models, celebs, older NY rockstar die hards, but also kids that are barely drinking age, looking all trendy 'n shiat, making sure to look all unique, by tearing up their shirts in the right places before showing up, or cutting triangular shapes out of their leggings etcetera, all for the sake of looking 'cool'. Crowd is all in all still better than what you would find in the average NY night club. At ER, you'll find a lot of New Yorkers that actually really grew up here for a change. ER is a safe haven for NY's local hipsters, that is not yet trashed by too many tourists or B&T. Music: Other than on Sunday/model/hiphop night, mostly pop music you heard about 15 years ago ( Around the world, around the wo-horld... Around the...) Decent music style, something else for a change. This will be played by a live DJ that you probably have never heard of. Electric Room's Vibe: Sexy, dark and mysterious. Interior: Unique. British style. Chesterfield sofas, beautiful light fixtures. Interesting art on the walls. Small dancing space, I personally wouldn't mind it if they made things a little brighter here, because you can't see much with the dim lighting here. This makes checking people out, flirting and finding friends a tadbit harder than usual, but oh well... Bottom Line: Electric room is an above decent place to hang out.

If you can get past the velvet ropes and with the likes of the doormen, then you are good to go. This place is intimate, sexy, dark, mysterious. You walk in through the loading dock of the Dream Hotel. The music selection from the DJ is always good. This place is more happening late night. Great selection of mixed drinks, bottle service, and HOT HOT CROWD!!!!

Through the black curtain with your electric glow in the dark lighting bolt on your wrist you enter into a magical world of British deep and wide couches and a DJ that spins eclectic music in their little base next to the door. Its quite dark in here despite its name. More relaxing than dancing occurs here but you have a lot more space than the upstairs alternative of PhD. We got a few drinks here and people watched. I ended up turning down a guy carrying a shiny hand grenade under his iced drink. There was a lot of black. I don't know if the people get any better at this establishment but I didn't come here to mingle with anyone but my friend. They certainly make for good stories in the morning after.

Sweet vibe for a Wednesday -- UV stamps, and all the swanky stuff you probably envision are there. $20/drink, so come w/some $

I went here for a private event so I can't speak to the party atmosphere and such. The people at the door were really nice and so was everyone working the event. The decor reminds me of old school gentleman's club with all the leather and wood, so if that's what they were going for bravo. The paintings are not my thing, but that is all in personal taste. Seems like it's more of a lounge than a club atmosphere due to all the tables, but I enjoy lounges and liked the table setup. I can imagine my self coming with friends, dancing for a bit and returning to my section. I like it. If you don't have a table though, I imagine you may feel overcrowded when it gets fill. Even at a private event, it was hard for people to maneuver, and it was nowhere near capacity. All in all it seems like it would be a cool place to hang out for a little while, but I wouldn't see myself spending a whole night here.

Horrible. The doorman was a racist jerk. He refused to let my friends and I inside for no valid reason. Unpleasant to say the least. In retrospect, I wasn't really that bothered considering the garbage this Doorman let in. Not my crowd at all. Also, the walkway leading into the club was atrocious and smelled like feces. So I guess I wasn't really missing out. Nonetheless, if possible, AVOID AVOID AVOID!

Got charged $52 for 2 drinks. Asked for itemized bill and it took 45 minutes to get a fake bill. Kept asking for the real bill based on the menu price. They just pushed me and my wife out without apologizing for overcharging us. Bad business. Hope they go out of business soon. Focus on your customers, not profit please.

Fun place. Went on a Thursday evening with a few friends as they were just opening. It was pretty empty at the time, but there was a DJ I was really feeling that was spinning remixes of 80's hits. We basically had the place to ourselves and danced our asses off. The servers were also getting down to the music which was also fun to look at. The decor is pretty funky which I liked. Wasn't really feeling that I had to pay 11 bucks for a beer, but hey, wasn't surprised given the venue and area. I'd go again.

The entrance is very alluring. It looks like it is straight out of Gaspar Noe's "Enter The Void". Very cool electric lights and a gritty, trippy feel. The decor is very cool. The couches and the punk rock pictures are something to be seen. I will admit it is quite small and gets fairly crowded but it's a fun time. I prefer this place over PHD. The crowd is more laid back and not try hard. The music ranges from very good indie (Phoenix, The Rapture) to some really odd and misplaced 90s jams to Michael Jackson. I also have to admit that the black light stamp is pretty awesome.

I went to a Fashion Week party here in February. As someone who has partied extremely way too hard, but is now into other stuff, it was kinda like hanging out with the Ghost of Christmas Past. All the tropes were traipsed: -the inventive, broke-down entrance that makes you feel special for knowing that the seediness is actually the work of a CitiBike-riding art director -the open bar with the super-sweet signature drink of the night that contains little to no alcohol, but bitches still be acting mad drunk ehhhh -the mess of winter coats piled high on leather couches, people rifling through fifty identical black wool pea coats to find their own -the nightlife photographers, oh man, i'd forgotten about them! The weird power dynamics of who is bestowing whom with social cache. -frickin' heels man. -yelling into your friend's ear to be heard. Or worse, when she shouts into your ear so loudly that it hurts something deep in your head, like you know you're permanently damaging something in there, but you still can't hear what she's saying, and the night is long and the floor is sticky, so with a final flutter of your mascara-laden lashes, you admit defeat and nod and smile AS IF you heard. -And now you are a scoundrel. -90s music spun by tiny popsicle stick-limbed people wearing giant headphones -scanning, oh all the scanning! you scan, i scan, we all scan. looking for what? faces we recognize. bodies that titillate. dead eyes and thigh gaps. sizing people up with recklessly long side-eye. -and of course, in the center of it all, refusing to be snuffed out, to be grown out of, to be matriculated into something more sustainable, is your teenage heart. the one that hopes and despairs in turn with every beat. shuddering at the sudden realization that you might be the ugliest, lamest, least cool person in the whole place and everybody knows it. then you catch your reflection in one of the mirrored walls and the lighting is just right and suddenly you are thoroughly, violently, magnificent and full of loathing for the masses around you --why are you slumming it like this, you handsome devil. and of course in the next second, you are in the tar pits of self-worth again, reckoning with some new inferiority. This is the ocean of adolescence This is the metronome of self-image This is what lies buried under your sensible puffy coat That makes you look like a sofa You are forever fifteen point five years old And the Electric Room understands that Give-up on the grow-up You will always care About your hair.

I had a really fun night here! Met some cool people, including a Michael Jackson look-a-like, so that's always good. This place has trendy NY decor but the vibe is surprisingly chill. You and your friends can just sort of lounge around the space meeting people and socializing amongst yourselves! Expensive, it's NY. Good service though

First time trying to get in clubs and we didn't understand the 'private party' at every door. The handsome Aussie doorman finally let us talk our way in for half price and grabbed our arms and delivered us through the crowd and told them to give us all the food and drinks we wanted. We met some people there we are still friends with months later! Great atmosphere. You'll love it. The hard part is getting in the door! Someone said it has to do with having an unusual look:)).

This place is incredibly prejudice. I waited at the front of the line alone, calmly for 40 minutes while I watched them let all other women in besides me. I was the only black woman there. My friends were all inside and they were waiting for me but the bouncers refused to let me in. My friends, all white, had gone in 20 min before me and no questions asked no covers charged. Yet once I arrived the bouncer paid no attention to me , told him I was joining my party and he proceeded to tell me I needed to pay $100 or there was no way I would go in. After waiting patiently for 40 min I asked the bouncer why he was letting them all in and not me. I mentioned that I was a model(something I never mention), not to receive privilege but to highlight the ridiculousness of the situation. Letting random white girls in but not letting a black model in... my friend came out and they just argued with us, there was no line and yet they still didn't let me in, just for being black. How pathetic.

Best club in NYC, hands down. We went to PHD, Provocateur, SL, & Electric Room on our most recent trip to NYC. PHD let everyone in. Provocateur was too dark and creepy. SL was a great time but way too small and packed. Alas! Electric Room. We went both nights (Fri & Sat) of Halloween weekend and both times were immediately let in. We waited behind a couple on the second night who had to pay a bar tab to get in $200 but we were let in no problem. We stayed at the Dream so maybe that helped but I think that regardless it is up to the discretion of the doorman. Inside we were greeted with the sounds of rock music! Yessss! It was a perfect blend between classic rock/indie/top 40's. The scene was awesome. It was not your pretentious asshole crowd but a more laid-back scene. As some of the tables weren't sold, we set up camp at one and had a blast. I was dancing on the couches and drinking all night (or until they sold they table and I moved to the next one). When all the tables were sold, we left as I was pretty tipsy by then anyways (3:00am ish). Needless to say, this is a late night spot. I can't really describe why I liked this place so much as I think it was just simply a great vibe. A huge plus to Electric Room, is that they cap the amount of people they let in to like 80 or 100 or something. This allows everyone inside to actually MOVE around and dance. It's hard to have a very memorable experience in a club when people are pushing you, spilling their drink on you, and overall adding to an uncomfortable experience. Electric Room was very comfortable. With that small amount of people that are allowed in, obviously it is quite exclusive. Getting here early is a plus. Next time I'm in town, definitely going to do a table here.

DJ stuck in the 80s. not really exciting. Club was halfway full complete darkness can see anything. guys girls grinding other guys and girls completely whatever. 0 face control.

Great atmosphere. Friendly bouncers. Awesome music and not too expensive drinks. In the bottom of the dream hotel which is also a hot spot. Not too hard to get in.

the bouncers and outside staff are ruining this place. a bunch of people were waiting outside in the cold for at least 30 min all for the asshole bouncers to say that they are over capacity. but still letting in people on the side. does that make sense? all because you want to pocket 50 or 100 dollars? you think they would have the common decency to let people know ahead of time so your not freezing ur asses off. dont aggravate yourself with this place. there are better and bigger venues to go to

I think the Dream Downtown and the whole 9th & 16th Street area is some of the coolest spots in the city. Tao, Electric Room, No.8, PHD... its all here. I like Electric Room because its entrance makes me feel like I'm going somewhere really different. Yes its as sceney as any of the other aforementioned spots, but Electric Room by virtue of its entrance alone seems less so. Everything else is pretty standard... the smokiness, great DJ and lighting, nice giant bathrooms... I like the phone charging stations which is nice. As per usual, beautiful people. I've been many times, but sometimes one forgets to review... One thing to know, though, is its not particularly big. Its actually rather small. Now, the area doesn't have expansive spots, but it is smaller... so if you're with a big group, may want to venture elsewhere.

We started in the upstairs lounge paying for overpriced drinks because we thought we were rich. After I started to see double we headed down stairs to the electric room. The jams were so on point when I first got there...then they started playing some awful music so I proceeded to get more intoxicated. Very crowed and expensive...full of beautiful people but douchey. Its weird. No one dances...they just swing from side to side .

Loved this club! Came here late night on a Sunday w/a few friends since PHD was closed. DJ & drinks were poppn! Fun people & overall hype crowd. Don't know why there are so many wack reviews but I enjoyed myself! Entrance is a little speculative (kinda underground) but once you make way thru all the cool art work and enter the venue it's a cool layout with velvet couches, low light & an intimate vibe. Props to the DJ who spun on 9/17/17. He really did a great job at reading the crowd to get everyone on the dance floor. Club was packed. Drinks were strong. I'd def come back again.

Ok so either my standard are too high or I went to this place at the wrong time (which btw was at 1am Sunday morning)!! Having heard so much about the electric room and the cool crowd it attracts we decided to check this place out; thankGod for our lucky stars we went to PHD before coming here. To sum up the experience it was like having a super bad dessert after a fab dinner. First of all it was half empty!!..On a busy sat night half empty? Secondly it smelt dingy which was not a good welcome. We stayed for 5 minutes and scanned the place, wanted to like it atleast but NAH, it wasn't what we had imagined It to be, so we left. The decor is wonderful but the crowd wasn't :-( I think they should up their game they need to!

Went here for a girls night. It was a Monday night and this place is known for having one of the toughest doors in NYC. Luckily it wasn't a problem for us as we walked right in. Small place but very cool vibe and beautiful people,very expensive drinks,great deep house music. We were dancing nonstop. Only one star off since I was hoping for a celeb sighting and this place is known to be frequented by the likes of Miley Cyrus among many others. Oh well maybe next time lol. Will be back for sure.

Came here on a Saturday night, this place was dead around 12-1am. It was lit by 2am. If you like 80's retro style music (although the songs are not from the 80's) you will LOVE this place. Drinks can be pricey, but you'll find good company eventually. Just try to get around the chesterfield sofas and you'll meet people.

Was coming here often for a while then took a month or so off.. Came back and it looks like they got a new dj I'm not so crazy about. But I still had a great time Perfect spot to end your night, or shall I say morning... They end late here because, well.. Why stop when everyones having so much fun

This is a sort of "come as you are" type of establishment. You'll see a wide variety of people from hipsters to trust fund babies and everyone is sort of in their own little world, doing their own thing. Some might opt for dancing, some might opt for just sitting down and chatting, and some might opt doing drugs in the bathroom...the possibilities are endless. Regardless, it is a solid establishment that reminds me a great deal of Teddy's in Los Angeles. Teddy's is pretty much the best way I can describe Electric Room.

This was my first time at the Electric Room, and was quite fascinated walking down in this mysterious 'garage-like' space. When one of the staff members take you in, you'll see a well decorated space with some of the uniquest vibes in New York City. When I visited on a Saturday night, I would say that the bartender had lots of orders. My friends and I were requesting for our entrance fee refund because we waited forty minutes for three gin and tonics. We went to one of the managers and requested for a refund, but the tall manager said to follow him. He brought us back to the bar, and made the drinks himself, and stayed at the bar for the rest of the night to help the bartending staff. That simple service, especially in a club, is rare, and well appreciated. Thank you!

NewYork chic all the way from the ramp to the bar. Leather couches, pricey drinks, sexy people, dark corners, DJ will spin some reinvented pop classics. Do yourself a favor and hit this amazing spot on a Wednesday night... All the fun of a Saturday minus the wait!

If you want to find some interesting people to talk to this is a good place to do that. If you come with people you'll probably lose each other on route to the bar because it's quite dark and fairly crowded. Please do memorize your dates face prior to coming in or it will be a guessing game.. But not a bad one since the majority of the people are attractive ;) It's near quite a few bars/clubs so it's easy to end up here often and the music is often pretty interesting, but not always danceable.

Came here for NYE and it was mediocre. Came back to pick up my coat from coat check (accidentally left it there) and it was gone smh

The Electric Room is sexy and exclusive point blank. I went there two Sundays ago with a promoter and group of friends. It was rather low key and not crowded but I was staying in the city that night so I was able to make it a late night. We had a table behind the DJ and service was great. Whatever we needed arrived timely and clean. The music was really good, played everything from rap remixes to some EDM. I definitely liked it more than Marquee.

Perfect place to hang out/party with friend, or go for a nice flirty date. The entry area is so cool. Bar tender girl is very nice. Chat with her a bit, very friendly. :) like the music, good to dance for girls and guys. Not super loud that u can actually have a conversion and still have fun. Pity that we didn't got to try the main cocktails cause there's big party before us. But would love to go back again!!

Came here on Friday night. Sweet vibe, really really small so unless you have a table don't go. Its full of tables. We were lucky and had a cool corner table, plenty of room. Tiny tiny, no real dance floor. Cool music, but not your club type of music, more like old school dancing, chill, chill. Very pricey $20/drink, so come knowing that. Ball it up. Only bad thing, there were people smoking inside, I hate this b/c it smells and makes your hair/clothes smell.

Great vibe, good crowd, nice launching spot or place to finish the night. Never disappointed here...of course, like all things it's how you look that allows you in, and who you know. Looking like you're in a band helps too. Or a DJ.

Probably the absoslute smallest club I've ever been in. I generally liked the music (which must mean it is too mainstream for real hiphoprap fans, I presume). Can be a good time if you're with friends, as always, but would not recommend this place. Maximum capacity should be 50 but there's like... way more than that in there.

Wondered down here from PHD on a saturday night, the back entrance had no rope. Not sure if it was too late but whatever they were still serving so probably around 3am. Nothing special, i think its all hyped. Pros: Close to alot of other venues so you can hop around Cons: The decor seems to be very repetitive these days tweeking this man hole leather cherterfield thing - it's getting over done.

Been to the Electric room what seems like countless times by now, as many of my friends positively adore it. A solid low key but fun place, although I'm usually pretty tipsy by the time we make it here. I'd call it more of a lounge than a club...many artsy/hipster types They have some legit cocktails (including a ginger one i always forget the name of), and great door guys who always let you cut the line. That said, I've had some friends attempt to meet up and ended up next door at bungalow instead, as the door guy wasn't as nice to them, so at least there are convenient back ups. Apparently Lohan is often here, wasted and falling all over herself, although I've never noticed. Also, an interesting co-ed bathroom set up. Gets pretty crowded late night, but I've had fun both when its slower and you can actually sit down and spread out your belongings, and when standing/crammed in like sardines. Definitely a small space, so beware it fills up fast!

Small and cozy room downstairs in the Dream Hotel. Came here for a work event, so I was graced by an open bar, but saw that most of the liquor they had was of quality (no bad rails). There are several couches throughout the room, so if you get there early enough I'm assuming you can snag a good seat until reservations come into effect. In addition, food was served, and it was incredible. I'm not sure what the extent of ordering food down there typically is, but if you can, get the tacos.

Hands down my favorite club in in the city. The Electric Room really combines the energy and excitement of a larger club with the intimacy of a small lounge. I've been here many times (during the week and weekend) and I've never had a bad night. The Electric Room does an awesome job of curating a fun, interesting crowd and great music. The music is usually a blend of classic/indie rock (pairs well with the punk-themed decor) and dance tunes. They also have occasional hip-hop nights. This eclectic mix creates a really great atmosphere for dancing. Inside, the setting is kind of standard, New York club decor: chesterfield couches and low tables with UK punk-themed murals on the walls. The most noticeable thing is how small the room is... I think it only fits 100 people or so. But this is good; since the room is small, they cap the number of people admitted. There is still space to move around and dance, so the vibe is laid-back and fun, not aggressive and territorial. The crowd, including the staff, are generally very social and friendly. On multiple occasions, my friends and I have had people share their bottles with us. Again, super laid-back, friendly atmosphere here. This is a late night spot, things really get going around 3:00 AM. Definitely come late and stay even later!
