The Best Tomato Dishes In NYC Right Now - New York - The Infatuation

"Heirloom Tomato With Blackberry Vinaigrette & Feta This pop-up project is currently serving their produce-forward, Middle Eastern dishes out of the kitchen at Peoples Wine Bar on the Lower East Side. One of the standouts from a recent dinner (among dishes like burrata with grated tomato and Yemeni shug, and a red snapper poached in a luscious vat of Egyptian molokhia) was a cold starter with three different kinds of heirloom tomatoes served with crumbly feta and a light blackberry vinaigrette. You can’t go three bites without running into a sweet, popping husk cherry, and the whole plate looks like a painter’s palette or an abstract traffic light. Eat this if you like the idea of the taste of summer on a sunny porch." - hannah albertine, nikko duren, carlo mantuano

I've been coming here for over 7 years now, the building is a old shipping warehouse, but has been innovated into the Nation's most advanced Electrical Training Center. It's always cool inside even when temperature reach over 100 degrees outside. And Air Handling Units are powers by solar, and Battery Banks. Building has state of the art Electric Equipment, allowing apprentices to get hands on. Sweet Building.

If you are considering applying to this institute to join one of its programs, I recommend you look elsewhere. My experience has been disappointing. I applied a year ago, and despite having a high score, I was not given the opportunity to join their program. It's frustrating and makes the institute seem unprofessional. The institute should let all newcomers join their programs and learn. But that is not the case.

Google
Note: This is not regarding the institute but the online application. I was trying to apply first day of opening but it turns out it is already closed. C’mon now can’t you at least elevate the threshold amount.

Great program to get you ahead in your career. Great instructors overall. Very nice building and mostly nice and newer era equipment. Food truck sucks. I wish they rotated food trucks or had someone who cared about the food. I got runs half the time from whatever i ate from it when I had to.

Absolutely garbage as of late. A few decent instructors. Upper management needs to get things in order. Too cancel a class 5 minutes prior to start time is ridiculous. Could be working overtime right now, thanks ETI 👎

Staff meets and exceeds all my expectations and needs of any and all. I am pleased and want everyone to know that dealing with the eti or local 11 truly is a brotherhood.

For current and future career seekers, the electrical training institute offers comprehensive class room learning, Hands on laboratory training, Tutoring Assistance, and some of the friendliest up front instructors you can find all around the training center. When it comes to choosing a career as an electrician, like I did, The electrical training institute is the better choice. The electrical training institute will provide you guidance in real time as you experience the electrical construction industry year to year for 5 years. These are some of the small details that make the difference that nobody talks about. I have had the opportunity to attend other schools with similar teachings and trainings. But they didn't have the small details that make the experience better, like the electrical training institute. Overall my experience with electrical training institute is better than what I expected; until I started to notice some of the staff members cutting corners in class rooms lectures and in training. And staff members agreeinng in new policies among eachother and making all students abide to them with knowledge of knowing that majority of the students have difficulties abiding to them. Then they threatened to discipline, which affects your pay raises. These are just some of the problems they create without giving students realistic and flexible options. So I give them 3 star. And for future electricians this is still a very good school, it just needs new changes in staff.

Best decision I ever made, just apply and you'll see why.

Yelp
Schooling is such a joke at this place. Very thankful for the free books and everything just wish we had teachers that would actually teach us. Have to teach ourselves everything to do the homework then show up to class and the teachers don't even go over it or even have a plan for what to do during the week. Love my job though, just wish the school was even half as good as they try to say they are.

Yelp
The new management has really turned this place around in the last 6 months. They have a vision of what the ETI should be, and a plan to get it there. It seems to be just what was needed. Some pretty major changes have already been implemented, like hiring more instructors, making overdue repairs, and revamping some of the labs. A lot of brand new lab equipment is also being implemented. Most noteworthy to me is the atmosphere. You get the sense that most people are happy to be here and anticipate further improvements. They are excited to learn about the ever-changing electrical industry, and to interact with and support their brothers and sisters who are the IBEW. There are a lot of great apprentices, and some spectacular instructors here. Paired with great management, I am confident that the Local 11 ETI will soon be a school that other locals look at to model theirs after.

Yelp
The ETI has begun a new chapter! Changes in leadership have allowed the facility to prioritize a focus on "world class" education. There have been long overdue improvements to the facility, the apprenticeship programs, and it's relationships with the IBEW members it serves.

Yelp
If I could give this place no stars I would! This place is a joke! I was a transportation apprentice and they had me work 10 hours or 12 hour but only pay for 8 hours. The union contractors I worked for are rats just like the non-union they criticize. The training institute is a joke as well. They all about money and propaganda. They don't really teach you anything that is useful. The instructors are not real teachers with credentials. The union reps and higher ups are only looking out for the contractors. Local 11 is a joke and should be ashamed of representing the IBEW. You can be a non-union tradesman and make the same or more money than a member and you definitely don't have to attend that lame ass institution that punishes you everytime you are late from work or don't show up even if you have a reasonable excuse.

Yelp
I've been in the application process for about a month or two right now and today I was meant to go in to submit my application in person at the ETI facility. HOWEVER They decided to have me come in and submit my application when the facility is CLOSED. Not only that, I tried to call and contact the facility to see if they're somehow still open for the applications and after navigating the automated messaging system, I was sent to voice mail when attempting to speak to a real person; so basically telling me "Go Fuck Yourself." Awful.

Yelp
The ETI facility has the best instructors and teaching practices in the Los Angeles area. The facility offers instruction in all the latest technologies in the electrical field. Plenty of class room and parking. It is a great training facility offering related education and supplemental to on-the-job training. ETI is a great institute building futures and careers for individuals and their families.

Yelp
I have been blessed to get involved with IBEW Local 11 and the ETI organization. From the moment I arrived here, I've been impressed with the excellent training facility, the down to earth field expert instructors, and the fellow brothers and sisters. Not to mention, the staff at ETI are always helpful; thanks ladies. They work promptly and they work hard. They'll smile if you are polite, and 'tell you like it is' when need-be.
