Bar tenders are friendly and fast! Music was very deep feeling in the chest. I recommend focusing on enjoying the experience rather than recording, it's pretty hard to catch on camera and way more immersive to slip into the rhythm.

Google
Saw Green Matter there and it changed my life. Have a whole new part of my personality now. Staff seemed friendly and chill, bar service was quick and professional, crowd was a good vibe. I went alone as a single male and had a ton of fun dancing in the front row. Highly recommend.

Google
Elektricity is both a great venue and a bad one. Space is great. Lasers and screens are great. Sound is great. But we didn't pay to only see the shadows of headliners. Light them up so we can actually see them. And give them a mic for Pete's sake! Fix those two things and it'll be perfect. Otherwise it feels like a jip.

Deven Q.

Google
From the loving staff members, to the community that spreads love and looks out for each other. Elektricity is one of the best EDM venues in Metro Detroit. Hands down. Security cares about everyone's safety. They set the bar HIGH for what to expect from the staff members. Making a safe place to come out to have fun on the weekends is and always will be the priority. (The 1 star review for "getting kicked out" for "asking girls to dance" is not true. He got kicked out for being nasty, rude, and touching people. Dude was WEIRD.) 10/10 all the way around. This is a place us EDM people love to call HOME. Check it out.

This club has grown into one of my favorite places to be. I cannot say enough about it. Trust me, if you are a fan of electronic music you do not want to miss this place and it's only getting better. I love the setup they have with a patio set up for music in the summer, the whole work crew here are obviously happy about working here and I can't blame them. Come be happy with us. You will not regret it. Five stars is not enough.

Abbie B.

Google
the dude who said he got thrown out for asking girls to dance and gave a 1 star is a weirdo and was touching girls all night. y’all this is the best club ever with the BEST bouncers. this place is like home. come out to a show sometime.

Nathan Y.

Google
It was fun. The drinks are expensive. I spent $65 (including tip) on 4 white claws and 2 waters. I was upset because they had the balcony closed for whatever reason and the floor was beyond packed. Overall I had a good experience -- the club seems to be in a nice area, there didn't seem to be too many crazy people, the staff were all friendly, and the club itself felt very secure compared to several other clubs I've been to.

Google
This place… attracts a crowd. A very unique and interesting crowd. I’m not into electronic music and I won’t pretend to be, but im into the party which is what I went for. I went here between the ages of 18-20 and then when I became a 21-year old I kinda stopped going to the clubbing scene as a whole because it’s not really for me and I found better places, and better things to do with my time. But I’ll say, the bathrooms are amongst some of the most unique in bar culture I’ve experienced. There is a man and a woman assigned as a attendant in their respective gendered bathrooms, and they provide complimentary care; things like tampons, soap, friendly vibes. They’ll pep you up, this is actually something I wish more bars and clubs alike would do. However, being in the heart of Pontiac, an already sketchy area. There are people who have predacious intentions and that is something to be on the lookout for. I say this is one of those places where unless you are a man, you probably should go with other women (other crowds). I think when you’re isolated you get picked apart by the creeps a lot easier and I am speaking from personal experience.

Yelp
great place to throw down shows. they have a food truck outside and a whole bar. it's good vibes all around, i enjoyed my time here. the security and staffs are friendly. haven't had any issues but i think the downside was the parking but that's it. i wish they had upstairs open for those of us who prefer to be upstairs during the show but i understand that the artists that night was not going to be needing that. lol. just remembered, another downside to this place... is the ladies bathroom. the stalls were so little i didn't have enough room to get in or out. it needs bigger stalls for sure.

Yelp
Really loved this venue! Great Management who care about their customers experience and very clean inside. Had a Great night!! Would like to thank all the team that made it fun for their customers. I do not think it's overpriced given the great value they offer. Keep up the good work Elektricity!!

Yelp
Great venue for local and touring EDM/Electronic shows that supports local talent. Reasonably priced tickets and drinks. Great location.

Yelp
I have been here a couple times and never had much of an issue until this last time which I won't plan to ever come back. security is a joke. Someone was constantly making moves on a girl in my group which ended up with her storming and crying. the security ended up removing her without asking any question ms or even caring what happened. After I found out I argued with them about how unprofessional they are about it and i asked if I can go out and give her water and come back in he said yes but after i went outside he told me that we weren't allowed back in and when I brought up how he said we were allowed back in he states he never said that and we are being removed. they want to act like I was a threat and safety is such a concern but when a woman is crying instead of asking her what happened or if she is ok instead she just gets removed.

Yelp
It's definitely a vibe. Me and my friends go almost every weekend and we absolutely love it.

Yelp
Had an awesome time here on New Years Eve. The entertainment and the DJ were great. Cool setup and easy parking situation. Our bartender sucked but I guess that is hit or miss. Don't practically overflow the glass with ice then try to charge me $8 for a drink. Good way not to get a tip

Grace K.

Yelp
ive been coming here for 7 years and it is my all time fav spot. the drink are delicious, the staff is incredibl, the music is mind blowing and the venue is dope as fuck!! if you haven't checked this place out, you gotta!

Yelp
I met my rave bunny here... She asks me early on a Sunday around 9 ""hey do you see anything you like here?" I said that's a trick question but I'll have a beer. I made a flower from a straw and napkin and before I knew it there were people everything I lost the nerve.. she wore all black and long thin ears like a Playboy bunny on her head... I fell in love at electricity. I miss her... I dont even know her name. :(

Yelp
I would give this place zero stars if I could. The staff was extremely rude. I walked up the steps to show the man my ID. He told me to get closer. I'm sorry, but I don't need to be 2 inches from your face. He asked how old I was as if he didn't know from my license. He put on my wrist band. He shouted at me to go inside and pushed my back twice with his hands. I was waiting for my boyfriend because there's no need to go inside alone. Also, he had the tickets on his phone so I had to wait anyway. Drunk or not there's no excuse for his behavior. This was literal assault. In hindsight, I would have walked out right after he had put his hands on me, but we had already paid for our tickets. It's safe to say I won't be coming back here. Hire new workers! Aside from this, the main dance floor was not open and the atmosphere was not my vibe. Drinks were expensive, but I did meet a couple of people who were friendly and the bartender was very nice.

Yelp
DO NOT GO HERE!!! Don't waste your money and just go somewhere else. The prices are not worth it, the staff are really rude and disrespectful for no reason and the bar completely ripped us off on the drinks. 20$ for two shots ? And everyone in there were mostly on drugs and taking drugs on the dancefloor. Don't believe that they changed because it's been like this for couple years now. You won't have fun here, just take your money somewhere else.

Yelp
great place and great vibes, never hdo a bad time there

Yelp
So they probably deserve 4 stars, but I'm reviewing the experience, not what it should be. Took a group of friends to see BT (solid Trance DJ) with Yos opening (solid local DJ). Clubs layout is pretty solid. Nice dance floor. Drinks are on the pricey side, but fall short of ridiculous. I was going to pre-buy tickets online, but since it didn't say there would be an upcharge to buy at the door, I decided to avoid the online service fees. Lo and behold, price is double at the door. Wahwah... I understand that prices at the door are generally higher, but double was a little much. Getting in was easy. No long wait, and no hassling security. But the place was maybe 2/3s full. Could probably fit 1,200-1,400 capacity. We got some drinks and posted up rocking to YOS. BT came out and the crowd got pretty excited. First track he dropped was a sweet Skrillex remix. Then came the bass drop... and that blew out the sound system. Took them 40 minutes to get it back up. By then the crowd had thinned, and from here on out, the sound was playing, at best, half the previous level. The only plus is that we were able to make it up to VIP just to the side and above the stage, which was pretty cool. I went on FB and wrote them to say how I was disappointed after convincing half a dozen friends to come and then their soundsystem blew. They told me to email the GM, and that he would take care of us because they were 100% committed to customer service. He responded (which is sort of surprising because most club owners/managers generally think to highly of them selves (or are to coked up) to respond to the lowly public). He mostly treated me like I was trying to scam him out of a bunch of freebies, but I had just explained how I was planning a pre bachelor's party for my best friend and that we wanted to come back, but I wanted to see if there was anything he could do to make up for our lackluster experience. He tried to say we were already offered free passes (we weren't) and that he doesn't owe us anything for a blown crossmixer taking down the system for 11 minutes (it was forty... even BT said it on his FB and apologized for the subpar show). He did, however, offer to buy a round of shots if we came in. I wrote back to inquire about VIP and/or bottle service and if he'd consider offering a discounted rate. He didn't reply. We're going to give it another shot on 4/20 for the Morgan Page show, and at least see if the GM lives up to his round of shots promise. I really want to like this place. They have some sweet DJs coming through.. but we'll wait and see.

Yelp
Best place in Michigan to experience electronic music. 2 DJ...1 in the club mixing almost every thing, and other in the smoking are mixing some good underground Dub-step. Friday night is a little upscale usually with big names foreign and American to perform. Saturday is my favorite with electric circus...by circus i mean circus. Fire acts, areal acts, great go-go dancers. The venue is huge. Check it out you would never regret. Complete rave experience without spending too much.

Yelp
Came here on Saturday for Zedd's Clarity tour! (He's the cutest DJ ever) Anyways, my friend came along and we parked in the $4 Erebus lot. Careful, it's super muddy! Apparently this place was just renovated and was previously called The Eagle or something along the lines of that. Got there pretty early- there was no wait and the security was hassle-free. There are HUGE bathrooms on either side of the entrance. There are bars on either side of the dance floor, several private booths both downstairs and upstairs. There are stairs leading to the upper floor where you get a birds-eye view of the stage. The layout of the club is pretty sweet. The drinks were expensive, but you always pay a premium for these things. The sub setup... is SO impressive. That bass BLASTS through your body. It felt so great. I'd of couse recommend getting RIGHT up to the stage. Not only are you closer to the performers, but dang does it get crowded in there. And you have some breathing room/a place to put your drinks. There are dancers here. At first it was pretty cool because they got the crowd going, but then it got old pretty quick. Zedd finally came on stage and then all you saw was ass hanging out in your face. I didn't mind it with the opening DJs, but it was pretty annoying when Zedd came on. Overall, I'm super impressed with this club. I'm excited to see more awesome dubstep and complextro artists here! Might be back again next week for Krewella and Zeds Dead.

Yelp
Come here when there's a good show, typically Friday nights. The house scene here is pretty good, definitely lots of fun, good music, and pretty large. Can't say no to when a good DJ comes here and you get to dance to some great sets. The crowd here often tends to be Oakland University students and some local ravers too, usually plur. Pontiac is sorta in the middle of nowhere, but it's worth the drive for a good show. Most other nights are pointless.

Yelp
I have been here multiple times for glo out, paint vs foam, circus, multiple shows, my bday...and honestly the list goes on. I can say that out of all of these times I have never had a bad experience. The parking at the pheonix is typically $5 and convenient. Drinks are well made and fairly priced. The venue itself has plenty of space to dance, nice VIP, and an upper deck which is fun to people watch below. If you like EDM this is definitely a place to check out. A personal recommendation of mine would be their paint vs foam parties. These parties are my favorite and one of the best times! Girls, paint, foam, EDM..need I say more?

Yelp
Cons: Drinks ridiculously expensive and you barely taste alcohol, bartenders are mostly jerks. Other then that, crowd is friendly/sweet! Music is always awesome! Sweet 2 part outdoor and indoor dj's give you options. Theres a lot of guys, and the girls that go are always in groups incase youre thinking therell be tons of single babes. Its hard to tell but I always went for the music, and had the occasional meet up with a random lady.
google avatar

Yelp
lots of under 21 kids just begging us to buy them drinks every single time we go. The Elektric Circus is awesome every time, but its not worth being mobbed and totally groped out of nowhere from dudes. My friends and i tried to leave after we found ourselves surrounded by (not too cute) guys who began shoving us around because we didn't want to dance with them. they wouldn't let us get off the floor and then shoved my friend so hard she fell. She got up and punched him in the face. then we left. This kind of bs happens every single time. The bouncers see it too, but they don't care. I don't think a single female bartender there knows how to smile. Even at men. The only people who seem to enjoy their jobs are the performers and dj's. other than that, poop.

Yelp
This is the future...and this is what people of 2014 are into, I guess. Music kinda sucked(no Van Halen or AC/DC). Also no Grilled Chesse! Lots of Cologne on the patrons. The outside of the joint is nice looking.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is actually disgusting. It only plays EDM music and everyone seems like they're ok drugs. The main act and other djs were good but the environment is so grody.

Garrett B.

Yelp
Not sure of all the negative reviews here, but this is my favorite club to goto for Riddem, dubstep style music! Staff are courteous and professional, providing you treat them with respect. Ive been coming here for about three months and absolutely love the festival-like atmosphere. Sure it can get busy, but so can any other venue!!!!!

Jane T.

Yelp
Really enjoyed this club. It is right next to Tonic, and the Crofoot. The night I was there they let in 18+ and it was mostly older teens in here.It has a big dance floor with a lot of room and a nice bar. There are a lot of scantily clad shot girls walking around also if that's something you enjoy. Only negative is that some of the music they played was kind of hard to dance to, I was expecting more electronica /techno but they played stuff you hear on hip hop radio stations. They had a lot of strobe lights going and overall it was a good time. It seemed to bring in a crowd that was a lot less trashy/dangerous than the other clubs in the same vicinity.

Made This T.

Yelp
Worst place of all time and I'm never going back. I mean honestly how can I start... It's way too condensed and I mean very tight so if you're claustrophobic you will feel like you're trapped in a box. The security inside will harass you till you're uncomfortable to the point where they make you want to leave, and to be honest it's pretty creepy how they stalk on everyone, they are truly the sole ruiner of what this place could have to offer. I'm sure they only abuse their power because the owners most likely don't care as long as money is on the table. With that said! The drinks are way over priced for a cup that's smaller than a 99c frosty from Wendy's, they might as well promote the drinks as "$10 water cup" since their is absolutely no alcohol in the building, they must have ran out I guess. On top of that they make you pay almost $40 just to get in? talk about a cash grab Mr. Crabs business. No one wears masks at all by the way, but I mean, did you really think they would? Anyway, weird energy, and I love bass and riddim so I'm not being a hater at all, this is reality and I am so upset that this happened. When I say that once you walk in, everyone stares at you like a deer in headlights, as if it was from a horror film where the record tape just scratched, what I really mean is that they're staring at you like a deer in headlights till you leave. The spotlight is on YOU and you literally can't even enjoy the music and hangout without someone breathing down your neck. It's such a shame that this place calls themselves a spot for bass music I could never support this awful building. I'd rather go to Hot Rocks off 10 and Hoover. At least there everyone is nice and they do their own thing, the space is open and the people that go are die hards that just want to hangout and listen to the music, not be preyed upon and sucked dry like vampires. Take notes or stay closed. Seriously.

Zach C.

Yelp
Do not go here! Elektricity is an unwelcoming atmosphere to women, gay men and anyone lgbt. The staff is extremely unpleasant especially in the restrooms. They do not accommodate trans people in any way when it comes to restrooms. I went with my 4 female friends and left feeling alienated and irritated by the people and staff. The music was mediocre at best. Necto Nightclub In Ann Arbor is a WAY BETTER place! Don't waste your money there!

Yelp
This weekend I experienced an epic experience here. I honestly got talked into going on Saturday Night and ended up going back on Sunday. I have been to many many clubs in Michigan. 1) Best bathroom setup of any night club. Seriously when the place is going hard you obviously need to release some fluids. Bathroom attendant is a solid ol g. 2) The dance floor was phenomenal, so hype so many females going hard. Got me so fired up. 3) Saturday night the chic hanging from the ceiling was a shot of life! The smoking area is also legit, if you just need to get a break from people or just want to chill out it's necessary to have a place to go to strike up conversation. It's heated so it was easy to talk to chics outside and go from there. Also the fact I was able to use my credit card and not start a tab was so savory!!

Yelp
Visited from out-of -state and was very impressed by the patio and stagehall. The Bar staff was friendly and the lineups are fun and impressive. I wish the lady in the ladies' room was not as rude as she was and water should be free for the DD's. The sound was perfect there and the lighting was on point!

Ed S.

Yelp
Great place to meet people. Drinks a tad on the expensive side. Bathrooms dirty.
google avatar

Julie M.

Yelp
Easy parking ($4) right across the street. Every staff member I came into contact with was spectacular. The crowd was great, the music was fantastic, the security and management are invested in everyone having a good time. Check it out! Worth the drive!

Yelp
Eat, sleep, rave, repeat. Small venue so you always have a good view.

Brandy W.

Yelp
Even though this place books good people i just cannot get over the way the employees treat customers here. Everytime ive attended this club they have been so rude to me and ive done nothing wrong. I know people who dj on the patio and they screw them over with pay. All the employees treat the djs like shit and ive even seen the employees be mean to other customers and come to find out other people feel the same way too. This place needs to be managed and owned by someone else. You can even call the place and talk to someone, so unprofessional and shady.

Yelp
From the management to the DJs to the bartenders, a priceless experience that leaves you wondering, "How did I get home last night?"

Leanna C.

Yelp
This place got seriously sad. 4 years ago, you could barely find a spot to park on the street to get in here. Now, past 11 p.m. all the parking spots are wide open. This club used to be packed 3x fuller that what it was last night. What is left is classless ladies and gents wearing t-shirts and jeans for a night out. The music on Saturday nights is just top 40 hits turned EDM. RIP Elektricity.

Jen Z.

Yelp
New Year's Eve started with a bad DJ, changed to Mojo who was pretty good, then another DJ that was horrible (just constant bass and out of date). Drinks are super expensive for this kind of place: $9 for vodka shot. Service was slow in both VIP and at the bar. Clientele were very young, mostly men, and some people were really smelly. Tip: pre-party somewhere else, then bring ear plugs.

Yelp
I went to the nye event and lately have been very dissatisfied with the way in which i was treated. i needed water and was rejected water from the bar. which i only asked for a cup of water. also, the heavy set women who was the restroom attendent was very aggresively rude as she Expected me to tip her every time i came to get water from the sink she sat there and tried told me i could not wipe my hands wth toilet paper and that i HAD to get paper towel from her. Also, the woman at the coat check was very rude as well and made my party wait 45 minutes to get my coat because we did not tip her, while she forced us to wait, our party was forced to stand outside in 10 degree snowy weather. When i was finally very upset, the manager i was addressed to speak with was high as a kite and was very unpleasant. Overall my experience at ELEKTRICITY was terrible. the people who work there are very mean to everyone whether you are drunk or completely sober. it is very pathetic and a poorly run business.

Yelp
drinks were 14 for a simple one shot. 15 to get in to see a band that never showed. and absolutely no readmission. service was ok. drinks service was good though, don't really care to see that place again

Carlos E.

Yelp
I've been to many EDM clubs in Colorado and around the U.S. I was looking forward to seeing how the Detroit scene was being that I am originally from here and haven't experienced any of the good clubs here. I've heard great reviews about this place and decided to check it out. Music was great but too bad the staff was giving the patrons the wrong receipts and just blah service. 95% of the crowd was 18- 20 years of age. I just think that place could have way more potential and revenue growth with the right promoters. I'm very ashamed of the EDM scene here in The Metro area!!!!

David M.

Yelp
I expect to pay a lot for drinks in San Fran, Chicago, San Diego and NYC. NOT !! Pontiac, Mi. Was shocked to learn the price of our drinks, in little plastic cups no less. With the exception of the female cutie bartender on the bottow dance floor, most rude bartenders we have ever met in our lives, at one place. Would have rather have bar hopped in Ferndale then spent the nite here. Won't be going back and will spread the bad word....

Lauren L.

Yelp
Pretty upsetting experience with Elektricity and its employees. The show was great, until about two hours into the opening act, we got a text from a friend on Facebook that the main act wasn't coming. We stayed a little longer as the opening act filled in, and ended up leaving about 20 minutes before closing. We had a a good time, but needless to say, we were still pretty disappointed. When we were leaving, the club was JUST THEN putting up posters that the main act wasn't coming. There was no announcement. There were no instructions for how to get a refund. We asked the guy at the door about how we should pursue a refund. He said as long as we kept our tickets we would get one. Problem is, they took our tickets at the door. He insisted that we did have our tickets but we were too drunk to remember (even though neither of us had drank or done anything that night). When I asked if he could direct us to the ticket area, he told me, "Bitch, shut up when the men are talking." Ok, that was rude. Clearly he was not going to help. My boyfriend left to bring the car around, while I found this guy's boss, the head of security at Elektricity. He was very sympathetic when I told him that one of his employees was rude to us, and asked me to tell him everything that happened. As soon as I pointed out which guy had told me to shut up, he laughed it off and told me,"No. No, he wouldn't do that. He would never say that to you." I said,"Well, he did. I just told you he did." He shook his head. "Where's your boyfriend, huh? Why don't you go run along and get him to do your dirty work?" I said that this was just about us trying to figure out how to get a refund, and I thought he might want to know how his employees were treating patrons. He responded that if I didn't leave right then, he would call the cops. I told him that I understand he has to deal with drunk and high and out of control people on a nightly basis, but this wasn't the case. He said,"You're right, I do. And I can tell the cops whatever I want, they're not going to believe you." At that point it wasn't worth talking to this guy anymore, and we left. That was my first experience with firsthand sexism and flat-out rude and unhelpful employees. I used to work for an event company that puts on a lot of shows at Elektricity. But after that upsetting experience of mistreatment and unprofessionalism, I will not be promoting any shows for them nor will I be attending anything there.
