Italian Restaurant Dolce to Open in Philly’s Swank New Hotel | Eater Philly

"Part of the same 51-story tower at 15th and Chestnut, Element (1441 Chestnut Street) will have its own lobby and amenities and about 460 rooms as the other half of the combined W/Element development, with the hotels scheduled to open in January 2020." - Rachel Vigoda

Had the pleasure of staying at this fine quality Hotel this year, the fourth time in two years and was completely satisfied with the amenities, fine staff, in particular, Brittany and her colleagues provide a personable and professional environment that make it easy and enjoyable to deal with during our stay. In addition, the patrons are civil and engaging, especially during Happy Hour. Also, it's a perfect location for walking to the sights of Philadelphia. Its about 15 minute walk to 30th Street, 10 minutes to the Reading Terminal, 20 minutes to the Historic sites and the same to their world class museums. They have a daily free breakfast and a happy hour Monday-Thursday offering beer wine and one cheese to compliment the beverages. The Gym is modern, overlooking 15th and Chestnut Streets, offering ample options for a workout. The rooms are spacious, quiet with sufficient closet and drawers to store your travel clothing. Also, there is a safe, a Kitchen, with a refrigerator, microwave and a small stove to meet all of your needs. The area however is very busy, with vehicular and pedestrian traffic, which can be load and irritating at times. My suggestion is to stay on a high floor in a quiet section of the Hotel to avoid the occasional car horns, sirens on the street below the Hotel near City Hall. If you are seeking a perfect Center City Philadelphia location for your next trip- look no further than the Element Hotel and like yours truly will become a loyal fan and patron! Very Highly Recommended!

I stayed for five nights with my spouse in the summer for our wedding anniversary. We called ahead to arrange for special decorations, and the concierge was so responsive! We had excellent service. The front desk answered any and all questions that we had, and all staff were very hospitable. Our hotel room was clean and modern (we love a kitchenette), and its location in center city meant that the views were excellent. I would not hesitate in booking at Element Hotel after our experience. A big shout out to Johnny for his excellent service!

Visited for a business trip. Although I’m a longtime Marriott customer I had never stayed at an Element. From the beginning, Brittany at the front desk set the tone for a great stay. The hotel has a green initiative which offers bicycles for use. Additionally, each room has its own filtered water dispenser. No more need to make a trip to the market for fresh water. I’d recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a quiet and convenient location in the city.

Exceptionally clean property. Very helpful and friendly staff. Tori at the front desk was such a pleasure to work with. Very professional and gracious. I teased her that I was beginning to think she ‘lived’ at the hotel. Always working. |All staff members were friendly and helpful. In fact one evening I came down to pick up two beers for my husband and myself. As I walked to the elevator, I suddenly realized there was a problem! No free hand to scan the room key card and push the room floor button. I went back to ask for help. The gentleman tending the bar (sorry didn’t get his name) followed me to the elevator and helped scan my key and pressed the floor button. Such service!|The hotel location was a short walking distance to the hop on hop off buses’ stops. Ask the front desk for nearby restaurant suggestions. ( that’s how we found Giovani’s just down the street).

I absolutely loved my stay here, my room was so nice and the view was gorgeous! It’s one of the nicest hotels I’ve stayed at but, the best part about my stay was the staff! Despite how busy it was Saturday morning, Halle was quick and efficient. She was incredibly helpful and kind, she gave me directions to the museum and even told me of some good places to eat lunch. I will definitely have to come back to Philadelphia with customer service like that. Most people don’t take the time to chat with guests anymore so I’m incredibly thankful for the help I got during my stay

We had a 5 night stay here whilst holidaying in the USA. Our room was comfortable and of a good size. In particular the bed and pillows were very comfortable, which is always important. The hotel is well positioned in a location that made it easy to get around Philadelphia.||However, there were a couple of issues that come to mind. The airconditioning is extremely noisy and we had to turn it off at night, in order to sleep. Also the walls appear to be quite thin, as we could easily hear conversation in the room next to ours (we were in room 2818). More disturbingly we had our sleep interrupted by the nocturnal activities that took place in the next room during the middle of the night. Talk about a screamer!!||Housekeeping is every other day which is fine, however the times seem very dramatically. The first occasion, housekeeping turned up at 5.30pm, as we were getting ready to go out. The second occasion was much earlier in the day. Appears there could be a lack of consistency.||And in terms of being an eco friendly hotel, it all falls apart when you see all the plastic utensils being used at breakfast (but this does seem to be common in the USA). Breakfast was quite ok, plenty of choices, although it was busy every day.||Overall the hotel is fine, comfortable bed and pillows a clear winner.

The rooms were very comfortable! Enjoyed the Restore (I ordered the burger) just had to go down to lobby to retrieve the meal. Desk was very comfortable to work at. Microwave, fridge, and sink were so handy!

Front desk was welcoming and pleasant. We had a great view on the 30th floor and room was exceptionally clean. Breakfast was better than usual continental breakfast with a variety of choices along with your usual hotel breakfast. Wife and I enjoyed our stay for the first time in Philly.we would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
I stayed at the Element in Philadelphia for one night with my family, and our experience was outstanding. The studio room was exceptionally spacious--larger than what I've experienced at Sheraton or Marriott properties--and it was impeccably clean. The highlight of our stay, however, was the staff. From the warm welcome at check-in to the attentive valet service provided by Amani, every interaction was positive. I'd especially like to commend Jewel at the front desk for her courtesy, warmth, and professionalism--she truly elevated our stay. I would not hesitate to return to the Element Philadelphia and highly recommend it to others.

Yelp
Elements are usually my go to for a lower tier, business friendly, and nice hotel and this was no different. Very centrally located in Philly to a lot of sites, the hotel was easy to navigate to and through and offered a healthy breakfast, nice expansive gym, and friendly service. There were some missing amenities in my room (it was weirdly missing a soap dispenser so I cut a bar in half so I had one at the sink and in the shower) and the floor was extremely sticky by the kitchenette sink. Otherwise, I had a nice time at this hotel and would stay again the next time I'm in Philly!

Yelp
Things started off good then, slid down hill from there. I was the from July 5th, 2025 until November 8th, 2025 for work. July was cool. August 9th, 2025 after work I got to the room and saw that my room wasn't cleaned and I didn't complain I just went to sleep. I was bitten by a spider and while sleeping I woke slapped my arm and first thing Saturday morning I went to the front desk and told the staff. Talked to a manager( who was very nice loved Darien and the staff was very lovely. Just not the manager Tim a total douche and an another lead manger too ugh) that following Monday and Tuesday they came to spray my room. That lead manager comes to my room with the exterminator he tells me to move the furniture before leaving the room so the guy can spray. Dude I don't work here that's y'all job. He was a rude fat f**k he and Tim the hotels manager need to be fired. But, I was told to reach out to the claims department and some lady by the name of LiTisa rude ass did nothing for my injury. Then the hotels room service workers some where so nice others need to learn their jobs or leave them left nasty stained mattress covers on my bed and how I discovered that they hadn't been changing the sheets for a while and the fitted sheet kept coming off the mattress and I saw these stains of I don't know what they were and I was completely grossed out. Needless to say some people there did their jobs and some do not need to be working there. I was told by Tim the manager that "he walked his dog and the dog bought home a tic. So, he basically said I was a dog and brought a spider back to the hotel and that's how I was bitten". The following week. I'm standing the parking garage about to start my work shift. And someone tells me "hey you have a spider on you". This is after a long battle of Tim stating that this hotel has no spiders or rodents. Just make sure if you stay there document it. Tim's an asshole and a whole ass. The front desk staff lovely. Some more than others.

Yelp
Really nice, moderate priced hotel in Center City, adjacent to the more luxury Westin. Great location and helpful/friendly staff. A complementary breakfast buffet, a nice front lounge/waiting/sitting area awaits visitors. I believe there is a complementary Happy Hour during the week, 5:30-7 pm (I just missed it). The rooms are nice, bathrooms modern, the rooms have kitchenettes, but you can definitely cook and stay there for a while, if desired. My only "not super" comment may be picky - the breakfast area is small and gets filled up quicky. The food is typical hotel breakfast buffet food, not too many healthy options. The only other thing is the need for a key in the elevator (I know why); but the key readers are imprecise, so if you have your hands full, it may be tough to get your key read, then floor pushed. Other than that, I'd be more than happy to stay again, reasonable price for a nice stay!

Yelp
The staff was super nice and accommodating. The rooms and the hotel overall was very clean and new looking. They have complimentary breakfast for hotel guests. Check out at 11am.

Yelp
I stayed the night at the Element for a work event. I love how close this hotel was to everything. It's in a super walkable part of town and only about 10 minutes driving from the train station. It's a bit of an awkward set up, but I figured it out. When you enter the building, you have to take the elevator to the main lobby on the second floor. Check in was an easy process. There was a long line, but it went pretty quickly. I'm not sure what was wrong with my room key on this visit, but it took longer than I would've liked to scan my key to get to my floor in the elevator. I stayed in room 2326, I'm not sure if it was this room specifically, or all rooms, but it was really hard to open the door. It felt like a game where I had to click it at an exact moment to open the door. Thankfully I only needed to open the door twice on my visit. There was also a weird clicking sound throughout the night, which I can only assume was from the window being so high up. I did love how modern and clean the room was. The bed itself was comfy. They only had very big and thick pillows. I loved that the kitchenette's sink had a filtered water faucet. I wish more hotels had that. It was a great room for a 20 hour work trip.

Yelp
Have been back several times since the initial review and, while it is still good, it is already starting to show its age. Many things in the room not working, not as clean as it used to be, carpet looking warn, etc.

Yelp
Convenient location, friendly staff, comfortable rooms, and reasonable nightly rates are the main reason why I chose this hotel. This property is located a block away from the city hall and is a short walking distance from shopping, bars, and restaurants. Check-in process was fast and I was assigned a high floor. The lobby was spacious with a lot of seating areas. There's a complimentary afternoon wine, beer, and appetizer in the lobby. Thats a nice touch especially for weary travelers who are just arriving. My room was located on the 28th floor and had a view of downtown. The floor to ceiling windows allowed for some dramatic views. I especially like the motorized drapes. The room had a mini kitchen and a countertop bar. The bedroom was comfortable and beddings were fresh. The bathroom was spacious and the walk-in shower was spotless. This property certainly impressed and will be on my short list of places to stay when in Philly.

Yelp
For its location, overall appearance, and amenities, I should be giving this a higher rating. But there were a few shortcomings that can hopefully be addressed before our next stay here. We were here for four nights a few months back. We didn't have a car, so it was important to be close to restaurants and transit, and thus the Element is very well situated. When we arrived shortly after the 3:00pm check-in time, we were a little dismayed to see a long line of people waiting for their keys. The front desk is small, and there were only two employees checking guests in, so it took quite a while to finally get situated. However, we received a complimentary upgrade to an enormous corner room, which was very much appreciated. The next problem came trying to get into the room. For some reason, the door wouldn't open consistently. Sometimes it took four or five attempts to finally enter. From the inside, sometimes the door wouldn't open either. I see now that at least one other guest struggled similarly, so ours was not an isolated situation. The room itself was very nice. There were floor-to-ceiling windows on two sides. The one annoyance here was that the motorized controls for the blinds didn't work properly, so we had to manually open and close the shades, which was a little awkward since you have to walk behind the furniture to do so. The two king beds were comfortable and the pillows were fluffy and fresh. There was a comfortable couch to relax on, and a large desk to work on. The room had a kitchenette, which we didn't use on this trip. There was full-size refrigerator as well. If we had been a little more motivated we might have gone grocery shopping and cooked for ourselves to save some money at the restaurants. The bathroom was nice but a little smaller than expected given the size of the suite, and the door closed noisily. Breakfast was decent, but the dining area is very small for the size of the hotel. When we stayed, there was some sort of athletic event in town, and on a couple mornings it was packed with hungry athletes. Food was replenished pretty quickly, but it was hard to find a place to sit and the trash cans were overflowing. On a couple evenings there was a wine and cheese reception in the lobby. As with breakfast, there were quite a few people milling around but it was still pleasant. A couple local beers were offered, which were quite good. Staff is friendly but clearly overworked. The lobby area is modern and bright. The exercise room is well-equipped and the machines are in good condition. All in all, this was a nice stay but there's room for improvement.

Yelp
Free beer and wine downstairs for happy hour with cheese and bread. Free breakfast too. Great location and comfortable bed ! They didn't provide small bars of soap for the bathroom and when I called the front desk, they brought me a huge bottle of body gel.

Yelp
Element Philadelphia Downtown is really nice! We stayed here for three nights for a wedding trip. Marriott Bonvoy Gold Status got me a free upgrade and late checkout, which was nice! The front desk staff were friendly and informative and happy to answer all my questions about Philly. The rooms are clean and modern, the wifi was fast, and the breakfast spread was great - they have a really nice custom and automatic espresso machine.

Yelp
Great location and wonderful staff. Relatively new place, and still in good condition. Clean, comfortable room with no issues in our stay.

Yelp
This was our first time staying at an Element branded hotel. Room was comfortable and location was convenient. They even have free breakfast in the morning. Staff was low as only one person was working the front desk, and no one was around when I first tried to check in. I parked offsite at a nearby lot to save money.

Emma N.

Yelp
don't stay here. it's beautiful and nice but they arent trust worthy. I left my shopping bags in the room and they told me that they never found them. I was stolen from and I thought this hotel was nice enough to not steal from me. I'm beyond disappointed and never had any other complaints about the elements in the past. usually a "nicer" hotel won't steal from you, this is sad.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel in the heart of Philly. I love my room, the bed is super comfy and the space is spotless. Complimentary breakfast was delicious - a super shout out to the 2 gents taking care of the breakfast room. Everything was hot and delicious!, and the dining room was pristine clean. Thank you! On a business trip right now, but will be back on my own next time. This is a super duper hotel!

Yelp
Great place, and so quiet! I needed to sleep during the day and really needed a quiet room so I asked at check in and I think that they put us on a vacant floor (?) we never heard anything! That's service.

Yelp
Great experience, lovely and comfortable room. Also, the breakfast was good, and hours were reasonable to accommodate any kind of morning start. Staff was kind and helpful.

Yelp
After an adventurous Uber ride from the train station, Tori at the front desk warmly welcomed us and was amazing to deal with during check in. Typically when checking into most hotels an annoyance vibe is given off, but not with Tori and her co-worker. They both were pleased to help us and were very professional. This sense of professionalism was experienced with all employees we met at Element!  The room was spacious, spotlessly clean and had a nice relaxed atmosphere. We liked how there was a filtered water knob at the sink, which eliminated the need for bottled water. The bed and furnishings were comfortable and the floors not being covered completely in carpet contributed to the sense of cleanliness.  The Element is centrally located in Philly near shops, restaurants, and sightseeing.   We were able to walk just about everywhere we needed to go. We said multiple times that THIS is where we are going to stay in the future when visiting Philly.

Yelp
A gorgeous and secure hotel property in downtown Philadelphia's heart. The lobby is located on the second floor away from the street, making it safe from loitering activities. Two hotels, W and Element, make up the skyscraper as it is the tallest in Philly. The room on the 17th floor was spacious with a kitchenette and two double beds, perfect for two adults and two children.
google avatar

Yelp
Size of the studio deluxe room was comfortable size for party of two and 2 fur babies. Not much grass near hotel, so be prepared to walk a few blocks when taking out your pet. Breakfast was just ok, nothing at all to brag on. Staff was friendly, valet team was very good as well. Great location in the heart of downtown Philly.

Yelp
Scammed out of a room, still charged I traveled from NYC for PAX XP and booked through PAX housing. I received an email confirmation, called the hotel a few days before to double check and called the day of to triple check. Both times I was told everything is set and ready. Once I got there to check in at 11PM carrying way more than 100+ lbs of exhausting luggage and event merch I was denied a room with the reason that no card was found on file. The manager Darien told me this personally, blaming the PAX booking service and he wasn't willing to accommodate me in any way. Near midnight, I had to desperately ask nearby friends to crash at their hotel for the weekend and walk through the streets of downtown Philadelphia still carrying the weight of all my belongings. My room at the element was cancelled and the card that was "not on file" was charged $279 for the cancellation! Sounds like they over booked and gave my room away to someone else meanwhile trying to scam me further out of funds. I don't recommend this hotel at all especially since I was willing to pay for a new booking at the time and was refused even that. The area is sketchy at night, people wandering around eyeing at tourists, and there was a spray of blood spilled not too far from the entrance of the hotel. You can find better, closer, safer, and more honest lodging in the area for less money if you're planning on going to the convention center. This was not my last time going to PAX, but I will 100% never book here again.

Yelp
Spacious clean room with views on higher levels. Friendly staff from desk services to cleaning crew. We ordered food from the restaurant for room service and was pleasantly surprised. Great location for common sightseeing. Wouldbstay again.

Yelp
Awful hotel. It looks pretty in the pictures, but once you stay inside, it is just a shell of something pretty ordinary, if not less. I had to always fight to open the door to my room. It should not take 10 minutes to constantly try and jiggle to get the door to open. The bathroom was dirty. I found unusual red stains on the shower floor that would not come out. The room's thermostat was broken. The breakfast is vile. The hot food is nasty and some of the fruit looks like it is 1-2 days away from turning. It all looked processed and fake. The staff had a very que sera sera mentality. Almost as if they really did not care when I voiced complaints. Only two minor positives. -The location is sublime. -My bed was comfortable.

Yelp
"Cozy" Quick walk from the SEPTA line and hectic city into the cozy hotel that is the Element. The entrance is on the ground floor but you take the elevator to the 2nd floor to enter the lobby. It is a beautiful lobby, quiet and peaceful compared to the outside of the hotel. The hotel lobby staff were kind and accommodating. Reassured me with any questions I had since it was a first time stay in Philly. The room itself was immaculate and had all the necessary amenities and nothing was missing. I reserved the cheapest room possible but the space was so warm with the wood tones and minimalist design. Definitely would come again based on the professional service and room quality.

Yelp
: Staff is very much disengaged, robotic check in attitude. When we checked in on 4/6, the front drive was crowded. They had a small area for the vaket at the front door which clearly identifies "Element Hotel Valet" They took my car and we had to head to the 2nd floor lobby. Keep in mind parking is $60. Upon check-in, 2 clerks only, a few people already waiting on the line. Upon being my turn to C/I, robotic request for my credit card and due to the high amount of noise that is echoed at the front desk, my front desk agent Luke, could not be heard or understood. The front of the hotel has no lobby security, homeless people are approaching you and asking you for money while waiting to get your car valet and or unloaded. If you check in with kids, keep the kids in the car until you get assistance to remove you luggage out if the car and valet is ready to take your car. The hallway on the 21st floor was very clean and my room wa very nice with a city view. Room was very clean and everything loos new. The bed and pillows were better than most other hotels. Nice refrigerator, microwave good iverall room design makes the soace feel ample. Bathroom was missing floor mat, being that i was there only 1 night, i didn't bother to call housekeeping. We had a dinner date for 6pm, i called for my car. They provide a cell number to text your valet ticket number and you make your way to street level. Upon my return, later that night, heavy rain and nobody to take my car. In fact, the valet stand was removed out of the front drive. My wife had to get out and go to front desk, while i waited for someone to take my car . What kind of valet service is this? This is not self parking. Waited 10 minutes eventually my wife found out, guests of Element Hotel must surrender their cars to the front drive at the W Hotel next door??? Well the person at the W drive did not even come to take the car, we had to go to him and ask him to take the car. Thats not cool at all and my front desk agent never advised me, I am guessing he forgot. The free breakfast takes place in the lobby and i must advised you, the flow of the buffet is none existing, you have to fight your way in between stations. They separated everything, which in a way, i get it. However, the presentation and cleanliness of the buffet was none existing. You have hot items like scrambled eggs, bacon, pastries, coffee and juices station but there was only 1 attendant doing it all. I felt bad, given the large volume of people eating out of the buffet. Its a shame, as the night before i was at a spring Hill suites snd the buffet was clean, properly staffed in a hotel that is considered of a lesser category. Would i stay here again, not sure, valet, lack of security at front drive made me and my family uneasy.

Yelp
Enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Within walking distance to a lot of things in the Philly area. Less than a 5 minute Uber to the train station that can take you to other cities. Didn't have to pay at the time because we had rewards from Marriot Bonvoy, but for the price it would be worth it if we had to pay. The suites are big and come with a separate area to cook. They have full sized fridges and a stove. Also provide the needed cooking ware. Didn't notice until we left, but they have a coin operated laundry room too. Complimentary breakfast in the morning.

Yelp
I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. Every staff member I encountered, from the valet to the check- in to the cleaning staff were super nice and helpful. The location is very central. There's a Trader Joe's about 5-10 min walk away, Reading Terminal is about 10 mins away. Looking forward to staying here again.

Yelp
This was my 2nd stay at the Element hotel as my 1st visit was a good experience. The day I checked in the bellhop, Christian was courteous and professional as well as the front desk clerk. However, on the day of checkout I called in advance for my vehicle which was valeted. When I arrived downstairs I waited over 5 minutes with no valet in sight. So, I had to call the hotel from outside to find out I had to go back to the front desk for my keys. Hmmm, this would have been nice if communicated when I called for the vehicle. And that wasn't enough as there were no bellhops available and to assist with my bags as I had several. This visit displayed a bad impression, poorly conveyed communication and the day of departure poor communication. Disappointed!

Yelp
I love this hotel. It's new , nice and clean. Well maintained and the staff is extremely friendly. The breakfast was good and the happy hour was great!

Yelp
Had a great stay at Element while my daughter was here for a volleyball tournament. Perfect location with walking distance to the convention center. Rooms were clean with a small kitchen. Staff were super friendly, helpful and accommodating. We had a little bit of an issue when checking in to our room. It had a strong odor - perhaps cooked food and the microwave needed more cleaning. BIG shoutout to Lance, the manager who swiftly addressed the situation and upgraded us to a larger and clean smelling room. Nice complimentary breakfast in the morning and happy hour in the evenings as well. I would stay here again and because of my positive experience will check out other Elemens hotels.

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised by this hotel. They upgraded me to a studio for free which was a larger room than their standard; felt like an actual studio apartment. Great place if you need to stay for more than a few days given the kitchenette set with a glass stove top and full fridge. I arrived close to midnight. From entering the hotel on the first floor to checking in on the 2nd floor, grabbing my keycards, some water and a banana, to entering my room, my check-in process was under 8 minutes. Pleased with the service. Spotless room, fresh linens. I don't mind the city noise. Would say the honking rivals NYC since the hotel is situated in a prime intersection of Center City. You can walk to La Colombe in just under a minute on the opposite side of the block. As an aside, really great place to study whether you are spending the night as a guest or not. Multiple long tables with plenty of outlets on the 2nd floor where you check in. Plenty of self-serve coffee, ice water, and fresh fruit available along with apple computers and couches.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here two nights in October 2021 and had a great experience. Check-in was a breeze, and the staff were all very nice. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable. We found the time on the microwave to be very annoying at night. If you like to sleep in a very dark room bring something to cover it or request that it be unplugged. The location was excellent! My husband and I were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go (and the double decker sightseeing bus took us to the places that were a bit further away). The complimentary breakfast buffet was nice enough. It included pastries, bagel sandwiches, fruit, yogurt, juices, and coffee. Parking fees are absurd at the hotel. I found a deal at the Love Park garage and left my car there for the weekend.

Yelp
This is my first time staying at an Element property and while the room was awesome, the service was lack luster. This location charges $60.00 for valet parking but they do not have a consistent valet in front. We pulled up and had to wait like 10 minutes before someone from the Westin next door valet came over to take our car. Minimal interaction from the valet and we head in for check-in. The front desk had only one person working and we waited another 10 minutes to be checked in. Our room was very nice and roomy. Tons of lights and outlets. When we came back for dinner again no valet outside. When we went to check out the front desk agent was not engaging at all. I almost felt like I was bothering her. And to top the experience off..when the valet brought our car at check out, all we smell was weed on him! So enjoy your room But don't expect any engagement from the staff.

Yelp
Beautiful, brand new, clean and comfortable hotel. I booked with Marriott points, not sure if there wasn't availability but we didn't receive eligible room upgrade. The standard room was clean, bright and beautiful. The floor to ceiling windows are gorgeous. We loved the filtered water built into the faucet. Shampoo/Conditioner combo and body wash in the shower was nice and smelled great. The bed was very comfortable and heat/air worked great. Included morning breakfast was simple but delicious. I had the bacon, egg and cheese bagel sandwich with Chobani yogurt. Coffee, OJ, Water, and Milk varieties available as well as dry cereals and small pastry variety. Valet parking only, $60 a day but very kind and easy - utilizing text messaging for communication was was quick and effective. The location is perfect and quick walk to the Reading Terminal. Hotel lobby is on the 2nd floor when for check-in. Staff was very nice at check-in and simple check-out on the Marriott app with room key drop box. Beautiful hotel, highly recommend.

Yelp
Really cool hotel, smack dab in the center of downtown Philly and within walking distance to anything you want to get to. We came in by train and took the subway one stop over to the hotel for $2.50 each, vs. spending the $30 that the rideshare service wanted. We already knew that we didn't want to drive in and with overnight parking being $60 (I am Titanium Elite and it's not waived), I knew I didn't want to spend the equivalent of a year's tuition just to park for a few days. Trust me, you're close to everything. The hotel was good. We were on the 26th floor of a 30+ floor building and had really good views. We had a full size kitchen and were thankful that a neat breakfast was included -- cereals, some egg + cheese sandwiches, yogurt, juices, and muffins. The bad: The room wasn't as clean as it could've been. The housekeeper definitely didn't do a good job and that's a little upsetting as with COVID and Marriott saying how much they're cleaning and disinfecting, I shouldn't be finding hairs in the shower and behind the bathroom faucet, nor cereal and candy pieces on the floor. One of the towels had a left over stain (that I'm sure was still there after washing), but it's really not cool, especially since housekeeping is now being done by request. Since services are limited, they really should be doing a much better job. The front desk sent up some additional towels, but, it would've been nice to have a night comped, considering the condition of the hotel room. Given what went "wrong", I would still stay here again. I wish the hotel had a pool. That would've helped out, especially during the heat wave.

Yelp
Full disclosure, I worked with the loss prevention department for over a year. This property shares its footprint with the W Philadelphia. Between the two the element has a much better management team but is seriously managed by one general manager. One that is in over their head and not committed to addressing the issues at the property. If they weren't in this troubled building the actual bones of the building are bad I would give them a five star rating. This building has malfunctioning door locks and doors that frequently get stuck, a malfunctioning alarm system and many other warning systems that the loss prevention department is told to ignore and simply reset, this is a high-rise building fire safety should be the ultimate system instead of a failed system. The owner of the physical building is politically connected he obtained funds to build the structure in a somewhat convoluted manner, borderline if not completely illegally,, he has been banned from the site himself which I find extremely interesting since the property does not ban those breaking laws, selling drugs, prostitution, disrupting other guests, or anything but they're able to ban the owner of the building WTF? Priorities are out of whack in this building in general. There are a lot of excellent employees who are complacent because they need their income. Anyone who knows me knows that I would never sacrifice someone else's safety to maintain a job. I really believed I could help make change by working there. They do not want change, they discriminate, there is no equity, and managers are not selected based on their qualifications. You can break every single labor law and still be a manager at the W/element. When I started there the safety meetings were actually a joke a literal joke the person running the meeting jokes in front of everybody who are there because they want to contribute to safety but jokes that there's only a couple people here, I'm sorry but people's lives and safety are not a joke. That particular individual is a great person and actually changed that attitude somewhat to the extent of being able to maintain their own employment. Anyone who tries to actually make change there becomes the outcast. For your own safety I do not suggest staying anywhere in that building until the problems are corrected if that ever becomes a priority. Anyone that fakes that is a five star hotel has never really stayed in a five-star hotel probably hasn't even stayed in a four-star hotel. I was loyal well under their Payroll and always spoke highly of the property. That made me loose sleep frequently. Please see the review of the W Philadelphia that I did where I shared more information they're both the same building. https://tristatealert.com/after-344-million-customers-were-hit-by-marriott-data-breach-the-hotel-chain-has-been-ordered-to-implement-better-security-measures/

Yelp
This is my second time staying at an Element, first time was Scottsdale. I must say this is the best hotel chain in the US. The rooms are larger than any other hotel room standard. They also come with a full kitchen standards and the lighting is phenomenal no dimly lit rooms!! Luke and Lance were very helpful at the front desk services Free breakfast included with stay. Hotel super clean. Would stay here again next time I visit Philly.

Yelp
Nice new property. Room 1803 we could sometimes hear next door neighbors very loudly, like an echo. This was very annoying! Comfortable bed, pillows not so much. Our room had a kitchen sink with a filtered water tap, microwave, large fridge and toaster. Room had a large bathroom with large shower, no night light or dimmer. Coffee and light breakfast available in lobby. Bikes available for use. Comfortable lobby area with ample USB. Perfect hotel location.

Yelp
Give that girl Deedee a promotion!!! I really love some good customer service. And I feel like it is harder and harder to find these days. Thank you so much for accommodating me and speaking to me on the phone and making our conversation pleasant. I love the service I got, and I really hope that she gets her promotion and gets noticed.

Yelp
We arrived on a Thursday evening around 7 pm. The valet guys weren't the greatest, and no one offered to help us with the cart to the room, seeing we had a handicapped person in a scooter. Thankfully the female working Sunday morning was a lot more helpful, and there was also a guy who saw us with a full luggage rack which came over to help load everything in our car. The Room was large, with a great view and extra trash cans, which are always a plus. The Bed was a little soft, but I slept well. The shampoo brand in the bathroom smelled weird. The Bathroom needs a vent. The Kitchen was lovely, with plenty of drawers, dishes, etc., with a full fridge/freezer. There was no happy medium with ac. When you turn it off, it's hot af but when on, it's freezing even when up the temp. Happy hour only mon-thur not listed on the magnet or online, so we waited for nothing. The valet was fast getting our car out both times we left, but the $60 a day plus all the tips can get pricey. The restaurant is next door by the W (same building, but you have to exit the hotel and go down the sidewalk and reenter to get to it). I loved the chat feature vs. going to the desk to fix issues or ask questions--overall lovely stay in a safe area, but it is downtown, so you will hear car music & horns quite often

Yelp
No no no! I would not stay here again. Let me also preface this by saying that I am usually the LEAST picky person - but when you pay $250-300 a night for a hotel, your experience should match your expectations. This did not. There were so many things I dislike about this hotel but let me start with the positives: 1) Shower is spacious 2) Desk was nice 3) Bed was comfortable 4) great location now onto the things I did NOT like: 1) breakfast was terrible. Don't let the beautiful atmosphere and presentation fool you. The food is gross. 2) the standard king room is NOT spacious and poorly designed. Let me elaborate: 3) the nightstands are this weird design (basically a box cut in half - no drawers) so there's this weird storage cubby but no drawer... how useless. 4) The tall wardrobe is nice but again... no drawers. Where am I supposed to put my folded clothes?? Not in a dresser bc there was none... 5) the kitchenette HAS a set of drawers but there are no utensils in the room?? What am I supposed to use drawers in the kitchenette for? I didn't bring cooking equipment with me nor were they deep enough to hold anything other than silverware anyway. Their design choices are a waste of space and not designed practically AT ALL 6) the bathroom sink is so flat and the drain is so small that when you brush your teeth the water just sits there for a few minutes before slowly draining out. It looks nice but is way to flat to be, you guessed it, practical. 7) the shower is nice but the floor was SO slippery that I was honestly worried I was going to wipe out and bust my a** every time I took a shower. 8) the sheets were the wrong size and came off every night. Nice Now onto bigger issues: cleanliness 9) there was pink lipstick smudged on my bathroom door. The front desk told me housekeeping would NOT COME during the 5 days I was there and sure enough the first day housekeeping comes into my room. She seemed nice and i didn't want to bother her. I was hoping she would clean the bathroom. The smudge remained. They do not do a good enough job cleaning. 10) there was foundation stains on one of my sheets 11) someone left ice cream that had been freezer burned in the freezer. Do they even clean these rooms before letting people in? 12) oh and let's talk about the freezer! It's a little drawer in the mini fridge about 2 inches tall that can't fit anything into it nor did it keep anything frozen 13) there is no room service 14) the ac is a total crapshoot. I set it as low as it would go at 65 degrees. Woke up in the middle of the night SWEATING because it was so warm. Still reads 65. I woke up in the morning and suddenly now it reads 68 in the room even though it was set to 65... this happened multiple nights... not sure how it would get hotter at night unless the ac is programmed to turn itself off regardless of the setting. In any case, I was so miserably hot even with just the sheet on and it wasn't even that hot outside when I stayed either. 15) the tv is a piece of crap. It takes at least 5 seconds to process any kind of click, you spend so much time waiting for the tv to process the remote it wasn't even worth using. 16) staff does the least. I called down and asked for toilet paper and after waiting 2 hours I hear a knock on my door and it's housekeeping - checking on the room NEXT to me. I was checking out so I didn't even bother to correct this. I was so ready to leave by this point. 17) no ice - you can buy it in a little convenience shop next to the front desk. 18) they provide a 2 in one shampoo/conditioner and a body wash in the bathroom. I hate 2 in ones on principal and this one was actually not too bad surprisingly. The body wash though? This was so stripping my skin on my entire body was peeling off. Like literally my arms and legs had skin peeling off bc it was so stripping I have never had a product dry me out so bad Overall I was so unhappy with my experience at this hotel I was SO READY to come back home. Due to almost every aspect of my experience being below expectations I would never stay here again.

Yelp
Loved this hotel! And so will you--especially if you are into simplicity, cleanliness, and sustainability! This eco-friendly hotel is located directly next door to Westin's fancier hotel, The W. It's fairly new and very clean, I hope it stays that way. The lobby and "sky lounge" is on the 2nd floor, and you have to take an elevator up to it. There is a station to use computers, and sitting area with a big TV, areas to bring food and dine, and the breakfast area ( it's included). We stayed on floor 27, and were upgraded as Bonvoy members to a suite with a kitchenette. There was even a small stove. There is purified tap water in place of bottled water. The lighting was energy efficient. The bathroom was bright and clean. Carpeting was without stains. Bed linens were crisp and clean and bed was comfortable. There was a couch as well. Decor was simple yet tasteful. Things to consider-the breakfast wasn't the best. We opted to go to a cafe instead. Also, if you need toiletries such as shower cap and extra soap or lotion, you have to ask at the desk. They try to keep waste to a minimum. There isn't a restaurant, bar, or pool/fitness area, but you may go next door to the W if you're craving a late night snack or nightcap.

Yelp
Element Philadelphia Downtown is a decent hotel, that is centrally located. Parking can be a hassle, and the fire alarm did go off twice during the middle of the night.

Yelp
We stayed at the hotel back in early June, and had a great time. The hotel is located a block away from City Hall, close to Broad Street, and within walking distance to Rittenhouse Square and the Midtown Village area. It's also in the same building as the W hotel, which is opening in a month or so, and on the same block as the Ritz Carlton (all of which are part of the Marriott family). Hotel was new, but service was still great. Once you enter the building, the check-in and lobby are on the 2nd floor. Check in was easy, and then we headed up to our room. Unlike many hotels that have their check in on an upper floor, it's great that you can come into the building and take the elevator straight to your room and not have to transfer to a separate elevator. Our room was on a higher floor facing southwest looking onto Chestnut Street and 15th Street and had great views of the City. The room itself was perfect, with a full kitchen and counter high table, nice sitting room with a large work desk, and a spacious bedroom. The kitchen had a toaster, coffee maker, microwave, stove, full size fridge and a cooktop stove. they also provided all of the tools (pots, pans, utensils, etc), as well as salt, pepper, dishwasher pods and dish soap. The room was extremely comfortable, and the hotel was perfect for a few days in Philly. Looking forward to coming back again soon.

Yelp
Everything else is fine except a guy from the front desk (Asian descent) very unprofessional and sarcastic! Does not have a customer service behavior... Anonymous
