Cozy place to relax and enjoy some treats. The latte had lovely art and was really nice. Great spot for coffee and a chill time with a friend.

Elementary Cafe is Adelaide’s Coffee Gem with a Melbourne Soul! Tucked just a short stroll from Rundle Mall, Elementary Cafe is the kind of spot that makes you want to linger. The moment you step in, you’re greeted by that unmistakable warehouse conversion charm: high ceilings, exposed brick, plenty of light, and an easygoing buzz that says, “Yeah, we take our coffee seriously here.” And they really do. I ordered the Magic, a Melbourne-born concoction that’s essentially a double ristretto topped with just the right froth of milk. It's a strong, silky hit of caffeine that means business. No surprise that the barista (and I suspect, the owner) hailed from Melbourne; you can taste that precision in every sip. Even the latte art had flair. To go with it, I grabbed a focaccia, warm and perfectly seasoned. Simple, but done right. Add in a trendy crowd that seems to have stepped straight out of an indie film, and you’ve got a vibe that’s effortlessly cool without trying too hard. Elementary Cafe nails it: great coffee, cool space, and that touch of Melbourne coffee culture right in the heart of Adelaide. Consider this my new go-to when I’m in town.

Been here for coffee many times and always good. However this morning I tried a bacon and egg roll and it was terrible. Outside burned black, bacon burned into crunchy leather, and drenched in mustard (!).

Adelaide has a lot of good food options, no matter what meal you’re seeking. The aroma of coffee pulled me into Elementary. Modelled on a Melbourne style coffee shop, this popular CBD coffee spot is serious about coffee. Their Young Street blend which combines Brazilian and Colombian beans, throws milk chocolate and something fruity in a cappuccino ($4). The pastry counter offered up beautiful rectangular blueberry danishes ($6/each) topped with firm, plump and acidic fruit. Staff were friendly and not too busy to offer water to those opting to eat inside the simply furnished warehouse-style space despite the long takeaway queue.

The coffee was smooth and well balanced. I also tried the almond crescent, which wasn’t overly sweet, just the way I like it. Cozy atmosphere and friendly service made it even better!

I got 5 star service & good coffee from Elementary team. Actually, i forgot my headphone in Adelaide trip, i flew back to Melbourne at the same day. Luckily, Elementary team found my headphone and sent it back to Melbourne for me with a high quality coffee beans bag to enjoy. With a great service like this, now i understood why Elementary always have many customers. All my best wish for Elementary team, you did well service & coffee quality.

It was very early in the morning when I stepped into Elementary Coffee in Adelaide. I have to say that I could immediately feel the positive vibes in the café from both, the staff as well as the customers, a HAPPY PLACE! When I looked at the barista, he gave me a big smile. I asked him whether he has a tasty coffee. OF COURSE, he answered! What coffee would you like to have? A super sweet and tasty filter coffee, please! He continuously smiled and said: Kenya! The day could not have started any better. MAKE IT EXTRA SWEET JUICY AND LINGERING. He must have thought that I am a total nerd! When I got my cup of coffee and my toasty, he kept smiling at me: YOUR COFFEE! Can you believe it. The Kenyan filter coffee was extra sweet, extra juicy and extra lingering. Coffee is not only about the taste only; it is more about the entire coffee experience: tasty coffee in a happy environment. I also enjoyed the simple interior design, the roastry in the back of the café and I also enjoyed reading the coffee, design, and fashion magazines. While I enjoyed my toasty and slurped my coffee, I saw many more happy people coming and going. A perfect coffee encounter.

Yelp
Never met Baristas that are so genuine! They smile at you like they mean it and you feel happy the whole day! Oh and they make perhaps some of The BEST coffee in Adelaide! This place has a Melbourne-esq vibe to it. Essentially a mature hangout with cool Coffee vibes !! The pace here is very calm and I like that since so many coffee shops get a bit chaotic at times. The simple, Scandinavian type decor helps too. They do a small selection of pastries and cookies that tempt you as you queue to order :P

Yelp
New kid on the caffeine block that has opened with a bang! If you are a coffee connoisseur, this place will be your new haunt. They do everything coffee, including roasting and drip. Focus is on local produce and products made on premise. Their menu is small with mainly sandwiches and pastries on offer. However, their coffee is amaZING! So, come and check them out!

Yelp
Went last week to grab a flat white coffee and a slice of banana bread. Their coffee was nice, not on the bitter side just the way I like it. Their banana bread however was a little different and I can't say I enjoyed it. The interior is very hipster, and the service nice and friendly. Another great little spot, close to work.

Yelp
My friend is a huge fan of this place and finally managed to get me to go along. She ordered the smashed avocado, I ordered a milkshake. Her meal was fine once she got it - we had to wait a little bit because they ran out of bread but the staff were really nice about it. I got the peanut butter milkshake. It was... different. Looking at the ingrediants I should have known that it wouldn't be a normal milkshake but what I got instead was a lot more different than what I thought. It was healthy and tasted that way. It wasn't to my palate but my friend really loved it! Give me fat and sugar! :-) The staff are what make this place - they are enthusiastic and passionate about what they do.

Yelp
Always great to see new coffee places opening up, especially those within walking distance! This is a nice airy place to have a quick bite for lunch and an excellent cup of coffee . Attentive and friendly staff. Only thing missing is free WiFi.
