I'm a sucker for coffee shops, bookstores, and alcohol...so when a business embodies all three of these muses, it's utter perfection. Elements is doing it, and they are doing it well.
I had heard of Elements for quite some time now, and they were arguably the first business to change the game in restoring Main Street Biddeford. For years I had heard people raving about Elements and what they are doing, however, I just never had the opportunity to scope it out until just recently.
Elements lives up to the hype that is has gotten and continues to get. They have a variety of books on the exterior of the facility that you can read and buy. They also house some local goods for people to buy, and they serve a variety of coffees, local beer on draft or in cans, and wine! One Thursday night, looking to just relax and have a drink with a friend, we decided to go to Elements and it was the perfect place. There was a consistent hum, as it was populated by quite a few people, so it's not your typical quiet bookstore, however, it works in this case.
There is a large wrap-around bar in the facility that provides a good amount of seating, but there are also various tables set up throughout if you want a more intimate experience. When I went recently, I was excited to see that they had Swish by Bissell Brothers on their draft list. I ordered it, and the barista/bartender was extremely nice when the keg kicked. I had a fairly large pour before the keg kicked, but he gave me my drink and told me that that pour was on the house to come back when I was done for a full pour. Elements' staff surely knows how to treat their customers, and it provides a unique experience for locals and visitors of the area. I highly recommend!
