6 Great Places to Visit in Australia Right Now - AFAR

"Set thoughtfully into semi-tropical terrain, Elements felt like a grown-up, eco-minded resort where I could relax amid bird song and even spot wild brushturkeys around the pool and in two-bedroom villas." - Laura Dannen Redman

The Coolest Hotel Designs In Australia

"With just over a hundred private villas, Elements of Byron Resort & Spa is a modern take on the resort concept. There’s the requisite spa, of course, and a range of dining venues, the massive infinity pool, the indoor-outdoor cocktail bar. But the architecture is sleek and contemporary, low-impact and single-story, the curving lines inspired by organic forms — the striking central pavilion is modeled after the look of a windswept sand dune." - Mark Fedeli

"The name sounds like an undergraduate English elective, but Elements of Byron has nothing to do with Romantic poetry. Unless, of course, you’re thinking metaphorically — there’s plenty of poetry and romance to the spectacular setting of this beachfront resort in Byron Bay, a coastal town in New South Wales. My husband and I came for our 23rd Anniversary and i must say this place was amazing the bungalow we stayed in exceeded all our expectations. A perfect blend of comfort and luxury - I would highly recommend this place. The staff of elements was incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. Exceptional service! Everyone went out of their way to ensure we had a great stay The buffet breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of options to choose from. We highly recommend this place and will definitely be back again.

Elements is a beautiful place. The villas are spacious and set in their own space. The pools are lovely. The restaurant is excellent. But most of all the staff are wonderful. They have such a service ethic and nothing is too much trouble.

We loved it here been 2 years ina row and already booked for Nye 2027. Fantastic team at elements so accommodating and friendly. The resort it's self is really beautiful so close to beach and love that there is an adult only pools as well as the main pool. The villas are beautiful really nicely fitted out with a very comfortable beds.

I stayed at Elements of Byron for three nights in mid December and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The villa was beautifully appointed, and the kitchenette (including Nespresso machine) was particularly well designed and practical when it came to making breakfast in the room during the stay. A real bonus is the convenience of having a local IGA, bakery, and bottle shop all within easy walking distance of the resort. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous—lush, immaculately maintained, and thoughtfully laid out. The beachfront location is stunning, offering a peaceful stretch of coast that feels wonderfully removed from the crowds. One of the details that really caught my eye was the collection of commissioned sculptures of native animals dotted throughout the gardens, which adds a unique and charming connection to the local environment. Overall, Elements of Byron is a great choice for anyone seeking a luxurious retreat from the everyday. Highly recommended for rest, renewal, and quiet indulgence.

What a fantastic place! The rooms are beautiful (though only have air con in the bedroom bit) and I had a large bath in mine. The staff are friendly, the site is beautiful with lots of wildlife around. I had a wallaby outside my room and there’s loads of goannas and brush turkeys about. The fire pit is a nice touch and Fridays they have live music by it which is lovely. The pools are lovely, the adult pool has a swim up bar which is great, and loads of cabanas around both pools which is great (and free) I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and I’m sure I will. I didn’t eat at the restaurants but the reviews are decent though there’s lots of great places in Byron town which is 5/10mins drive away.

We had an exceptional stay at Elements of Byron, the kind of experience that reminds you how hospitality should be done. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, every detail felt thoughtful, warm and seamless. The staff were consistently attentive and kind, always ready to help without ever feeling intrusive. Breakfast was divine, beautifully prepared and full of fresh options. Definitely the perfect way to start each day! We enjoyed dinner at Azure twice. Even though our last evening came with a few issue, it never overshadowed our stay. Patricia, our waitress, listened carefully, handled everything with genuine care and found a solution efficiently. That level of attention only reinforced the quality of service at the resort. Morning yoga in one of the most beautiful spots on the property was the highlight of the trip, with incredibly scenic. The pool area and bar service made life so easy with the kids, allowing us to relax without worrying about logistics. And the Fairy Trail was a delightful moment for our family: simple, charming, and a lovely way to explore the surroundings together. In short, we came looking for a relaxing escape l, and that mission was fully accomplished. We left recharged, grateful and already thinking about when we can return. Highly recommended.

Our stay at Elements of Byron was absolutely amazing. The whole resort feels peaceful, stylish, and very well-maintained. The villa was beautiful, clean, and comfortable, surrounded by nature, which made the atmosphere incredibly relaxing. The pools, the beach access, and the overall layout of the resort were perfect. The breakfast was delicious, and the service throughout our stay was friendly and attentive. It’s a place where you can truly unwind and enjoy every moment. I would definitely love to come back.

Google
Beautiful location surrounded by three unique ecosystems — such a special setting. Great facilities with a gym, restaurant, poolside bar, tennis court, and lovely bushwalks. It feels like living in nature! The main pool is stunning, and the adults-only pool is peaceful with its own bar. Rooms look small from the outside but are very spacious. I’d heard it was once more for couples, but it now caters really well for families and kids too. Only a short drive from Byron town — highly recommend!

Yelp
Excellent eco-conscious resort, amazing room layout only surpassed by the pool and grill area!

Yelp
I'm surprised to read the other reviews on this place as our stay was amazing. To start with I had booked us the wrong room- I had misread the floor plan and thought we would have a full one bedroom. We were travelling with our toddler and needed the separate sleeping area. I called to the front desk and had us changed within 30 mins. We upgraded to a two bedroom villa which was stunning and more than enough space for the three of us. The property itself is gorgeous. Very lush. Every morning our walk to breakfast was relaxing and gorgeous. The breakfast was fantastic and one of my favourite parts of the stay. They also have two pools- one is a quiet pool and the other more of a family pool. I appreciate this as then I don't need to worry about my kid making too much noise. All in all a fantastic two night stay.

Yelp
I really enjoyed staying here! It was really nice and clean. The rooms are wonderful and the bar / restaurant is fabulous. They have. A great pool and spa. The grounds are kept well and the staff are very friendly. The resort is very new and was quite quiet when I was there. I would give it 5 stars but the fact that the live music is only from 5-7 is pretty disappointing. I mean are you kidding? Did you not want to have your guests stay out late and spend money at the bar? They have specials from time to time and we luckily had oysters that were fantastic. Again, the service is really good with an international crew working this part of the hotel. The beach begins the resort is beautiful. You can walk for miles and miles and only run into a handful of people. Solid spot but they need to figure out the live music / entertainment part or this place won't last.

Yelp
This hotel provides a nice location, large bungalows and a great pool area, but that is the extent of the positive portion of this review. While the hotel touts itself as upscale, it has a long way to go to achieve this status. The service was poor, at best, due to the inexperience of the wait staff. On two occasions, our food came out prior to our drinks and we did not have silverware. The rooms were large but the housekeeping services were subpar. Even though we requested housekeeping, our sheets were not changed and new towels were not provided the entirety of our stay. In addition, our room was not serviced until 530pm one of the days. Until the staff is properly trained, I would choose to stay at another hotel in this cute little beach town.
