This is my favorite brunch spot I've tried so far in Canada, and I'm so sad it's not in Vancouver.
I came here 3-4 years ago for brunch on my first visit to Whistler, and that meal was so good it's stayed with me this entire time. I was absolutely thrilled to see that the restaurant was still around, and with benedicts and frittatas on the menu still.
For our second visit, the two of us came for brunch on a Monday morning around 10 am. They seated us not in the restaurant itself but in the neighboring cafe which was closed and lending its space to Elements.
I ordered the same thing I had my first time here, the tomato, spinach, and portabello frittata ($16), and it was just as good the second time around. I know frittatas are typically made from leftover ingredients in the fridge, but here each ingredient was super fresh and the eggs perfectly cooked. The large portabello chunks felt like such a luxury as I bit into them.
Typically the frittatas come with their signature potato tartlet on the side, but I wanted a lighter breakfast and asked for some fruit instead. Little did I know, but the fruit came out with such a nice presentation I almost felt like that, and not the frittata, was the main focus of the meal. I was so impressed that the chefs took the time to thinly slice the kiwi and apple and fan it out into a nice spread. The fruit was all fresh and delicious as well.
My friend ordered the tomato and avocado benedict ($17). The benedict was pretty good, but his favorite part of the meal was actually the potato tartlet on the side. I took a bite to try it out and completely agree, there's a reason why Elements is known for these tartlets!!
After trying the brunch here twice, I'd love to give their dinner a shot too. Will definitely have to check it out next time I'm in Whistler!
