Dining Destinations for Christmas and New Year's Eve in Buenos Aires and Mendoza

"At the Four Seasons Hotel Buenos Aires , the festive spirit is in full swing, with the aromas of panettone and nougat filling the dining rooms. The hotel, awarded two MICHELIN Keys , hosts a Christmas Eve celebration at its onsite restaurant Elena. Executive Chef Juan Gaffuri showcases Argentina's finest products in a specially crafted four-course menu. The experience begins with Patagonian trout tartare, tapioca crunch, and trout roe. It continues with sepia ink and octopus arancini; pecorino foam carbonara pasta; and the catch-of-the-day with mandarin gastric. It finishes with a pasture-raised beef chop served with gírgolas and portobello cream. For a decadent yet restrained dessert that hits all the right notes, there's a 70% chocolate ganache with coffee toffee and caramelized pine nuts. The festive decor, toasts, and pairings with cocktails and wines from Catena Zapata will surely get you into the holiday spirit. The seven-course menu with wine pairing is priced at $300 USD on December 24th, with an exclusive $500 USD menu for hotel guests on the 31st." - Guía MICHELIN

The Best Steakhouses in Buenos Aires

"Located in the Four Seasons Hotel, Elena aims to be a benchmark for Argentina's finest aged meats while maintaining a relaxed, shareable dining style; I found spacious tables, generous portions, and a focus on heavyweight beef aged in dry chambers to perfect tenderness and flavor. Dishes range from Huancaína octopus and mushrooms with Patagonzola to charcuterie boards, curry lamb, and a Milanesa with truffled fries, but the highlights are the wood-fired meats from the Josper oven—try the 450 g bone-in Ribeye aged 45 days, the 950 g T-Bone for sharing, or the 'cut of the day' matured for 70 days—paired with sides like Triple Fried Fries, Pistachio Lime Cauliflower, or Sweet Potato with buffalo yogurt, and finished with a scoop of inventive housemade ice cream." - The MICHELIN Guide

"If we were to rank the best Argentinian hotel restaurants, Elena, occupying the luxury Four Seasons Hotel Buenos Aires, would definitely figure high up on the list! Aesthetically inspired by the interior of old houses in the San Telmo district famous for its tango venues, it features a private dining room in the wine cellar and a main dining space brightened by a large glass dome, with an open kitchen to one side (note the ageing cabinets full of different cuts of meat). The culinary concept here, in what we would describe as a contemporary steakhouse, is traditional with meat (Angus sirloin, 45-day-aged Angus T-Bone, Argentinian wagyu ribeye etc) cooked on the Josper grill, but you can also order delicious ham and cheeseboards, catches of the day with different garnishes, as well as the occasional pasta dish." - Michelin Inspector

The Best Way to Cook Meat, According to These Argentine Chefs

"At Elena Restaurant in the Four Seasons Hotel Buenos Aires, executive chef Juan Gaffuri insisted I taste the steak 'naked' before adding chimichurri, explaining that grillers take pains to avoid smoke—using grates with canoe-like cross bars to channel fat away from the coals—and that meat is best seasoned just before or as it hits the metal with coarse sal parrillera and finished after carving with a delicate shower of Patagonian sea salt." - Jane Sigal

Google
Great dining experience! The restaurant is in the Four Seasons hotel in Buenos Aires. Lovely decor. Impressively high ceiling. I dined on the first floor but would love to try the second floor next time. The dry aged beef was good but found it to be a bit tough (medium rare). But the side dishes were spectacular. Especially the cauliflower. I would go back just for that! Service was great. Very attentive from the moment I entered the restaurant until my departure. I highly recommend this place!

Google
The food was absolutely fantastic, and the service outstanding. The waiters were not only professional but also impressively knowledgeable — they took the time to explain each dish in detail, from the appetizers all the way to dessert. I started with shrimp served with falafel, followed by pacu fish, and honestly, I can’t decide which course was better — everything was perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. For dessert, I had a traditional Argentine Balcarce, but with a light and refreshing lemon twist — a wonderful finish to the meal. The only downside had nothing to do with the restaurant itself: one guest at a nearby table was quite rude, interrupting the waitress while she was describing the desserts to me. Of course, you can’t choose your guests, but I have to give extra credit to the experienced waitress who handled the situation gracefully and professionally. Overall, an unforgettable experience — highly recommended!

Google
The meat was excellent. We opted for the Argentinian wagyu aged 45 days. The mashed potatoes were very good as well and the other sides.

Google
I didn’t get to take many photos since I was at a formal event, but the food was amazing. The dry-aged meats are incredibly tender and flavorful. The Burrata and pasta dishes have a unique, delicious taste. The only downside was that the service didn’t quite meet the expectations for a restaurant of this caliber

Google
Four Seasons stays winning. They stay consistent and has yet to fail me. This was recommended by people I spoke to and my brother in law, an Argentinian. We walked in with no reservation. The lady out front' led us in. There are two other options inside. I checked in and was greeted by the nice hostess who let us sit in the waiting area as they prepared our table. The vibes inside gave classic olden times. We were here for it. I loved that I could see the sky when I looked up. I made a classic booboo and mentioned wanting fernet and coke cos that was what everyone was drinking at the futbol game the day before. The guy was like no. He then proceeded to make us a fernet cocktail. As we had so much steak the say before, we opted for the smaller size here. We got the ribeye. Paired with it was their amazing mushroom dish served in a skillet. My god. That was the best thing I ate that day. We also got the pasta. So damn good. The 3 went perfectly together. They do give a starter bite and post dessert bites. Those paired with our cappuccino nicely. The staff here was 10/10 - the FS standard. The other locations I've been fortunate enough to visit had just as equally amazing service. It's why I stay making it a point to visit one wherever I am.

Google
The only good thing is the arroz, the rests are average. Steak was disappointing, we ordered wagyu T bone, and it’s not properly cooked. They tried to fix it but still not up to the standard. The service table was nice, but the food doesn’t justify the whole experience.

Rosco K.

Google
The atmosphere is great and you can tell that they put a real effort into the presentation and experience. I appreciated that they made it extra special since we were celebrating a birthday. However the food did not match the expectations set by the ambiance. Especially considering the price, I would have expected the food to be nicer, since we've had much better steaks in BA in less fancy places.

Rafael P.

Google
Amazing. Been there twice in my 5 days trip in Buenos Aires and I really recommend. - Found their 2 tempo menu pretty good with a good price. - Service is great. - Meat was pretty good. Meat in Buenos Aires is in general pretty good, but here you have high standards. So your expectations should be headed toward fine dinning, not the regular parrillas.

Yelp
Elena is an amazing restaurant! It is a 2024 Michelin star winner and the quality of the food definitely showcases that. The service is fast and the ambiance is amazing as well! We were a large group so there were lots of things we tried, but the highlights for me personally are the dishes below: 5/5 - Burrata - the most flavorful and wonderfully presented Burrata I've ever had! Truly a treat. 4/5 - Charcuterie Plate: really fresh cheeses and meats, if you're even remotely a cheese and wine person, this is a great starter choice. 4/5 - Grilled Octopus: folks were big fans of this and the calamari across the table. 5/5 - Dry Aged T-Bone & Rib Eye cuts 5/5 - Panqueque con Dulce de Leche: super delicious, Argentina has the best Dulce de Leche I've had by far. 5/5 - Helado: the best one was the Dulce de Leche Super flavor, but the pistachio and strawberry flavors were really good too, I loved the tart contrast of the strawberry compared to the sweetness of the rest. Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance' 5/5 Wine selection: 5/5 Overall: 5/5

Yelp
We dined at this upscale restaurant located in the Four Seasons hotel during our two-night stay while heading down to Patagonia. The place is very striking with a soaring ceiling and vibrant atmosphere. Beware: the food portions areHUGE! We started with "Flexi's Choice" charcuterie-prosciutto, Brie, salami and a local cheese called Lincoln. We opted to share a NY strip steak (21 oz!) and ordered the roasted cauliflower and smoked creamed potatoes as sides. We just selected wines by the glass from the nice selection. First of all the space itself is wonderful with large cozy leather chairs and a soaring ceiling topped by a glass dome. The service was extremely attentive from the moment we sat down with no fewer than 5 servers assisting at various points in the meal. As for the meal everything was really spectacular from the start to the finish. Our charcuterie platter was massive with enough slices of melt in your mouth Italian prosciutto, chewy hard salumi and 2/3 of a wheel of creamy brie, plus about 15 wedges of the local cow cheese, Lincoln, along with honey comb and two large slices of lightly grilled tender focaccia. We felt guilty not being able to find it but would have needed at least 4 more people (price-less than $20 US). Our massive steak was served hot from the charcoal-fired oven and had a delicious char on the edges. It was the size of a small roast and served sliced into four large pieces with two types of salt on the side. ($40 US) this was plenty of meat for us. Sides were around $6 US and the roasted cauliflower with a hint of lime was a real standout. The chocolate cake dessert-a small tart shell with crunchy hazelnuts and chocolate cream toooed with a spongy and light chocolate top and a small scoop of chocolate ice cream with a chocolate whiskey sauce was amazing (around $10 US). A very memorable and satisfying meal in a beautiful space. Reservation are a must, they open at 7 pm. Even on a Thursday night they were full when we left.

Yelp
The Argentinean wagyu was nice and fairly priced. The salmon was okay and the sides were okay as well. The service at the restaurant was outstanding. They really take care into ensuring you are having a nice experience and your needs are catered to. Everyone was very professional. The restaurant was nice and bright during the day, due to the large skylight, but as the sun set it became very dark and difficult to see your food. There were tables next to us using the camera light on their phones to view the menu and it was very distracting to our table. Perhaps the restaurant should invest in dimmable lamps that can be brightened to read the menu and dimmed to set a nicer ambiance for dinner. +Instagram: @MiamiCheatDays for more recommendations

Yelp
Had such high hopes for Elena given the hype around it and the difficulty in getting a reservation. The restaurant itself is very pretty with an upstairs area. The food presentation was nice, especially the meat. And the meat itself was quite good. The wine selection was limited in that there were no glasses less than $25 USD. The wait for the food was strangely long, especially in comparison to tables around us. Overall glad we went but just okay.

Debbie N.

Yelp
This is a 1* Michelin restaurant and I expected to be wowed! The Ceasar Salad was served at room temperature on room temperature plate and, you guessed it, a room temperature fork! And in a tiny bowl! My filet was enormous and prepared blue, just how I like it! The wait staff was amazing. Found a new Rose that is fabulous thanks to the mini tasting. The tables were slightly small. To compensate, each table had a side table for a purse, wine bottle etc. Overall, I'd come back for the steak! Oh, and because the USD is strong here, the entire meal was only 99.00!!

Monique S.

Yelp
Delicious food and beautiful ambience. The service was top notch too! Their wagyu steak was melt in you mouth delicious.

Yelp
Great food. It's quite busy during dinner and the food came out as it was ready as we requested. The service is great and the food is pricey. The waiters want to help you and there is a great wine selection. All the dishes came out hot. We would recommend as a good restaurant.

Yelp
This was hands-down my favorite restaurant in BA. I unfortunately went on my last night in town, otherwise I would have come here on several occasions. Highly recommend!

Yelp
We ended up having the three main meals at Elena despite my dislike of dining at a hotel. What great decisions we made! ATMOSPHERE: Elena is this Four Seasons' main restaurant located on the lobby level. Decor is a mix of contemporary and French Quarter, with an open-view kitchen and seating on two levels. A dry-aging refrigerator is showcased up front with a wine cellar on the second floor. LUNCH MENU: Apps, salads, charcuterie, pasta, poultry, meats, fish. FOOD: Sautéed Shrimp - $13.00. Four good-sized shrimp were stir fried, sat over a bed of creamy-savory red cabbage and topped with French fried onions. Tasty app but the shrimp could've been charred better to give it a more appetizing texture. Elena's Caesar Salad - $12.00. An overly generous amount of smoked trout took the place of anchovies that have a taste similar to salmon. The dressing was creamy, the portion size small. Bitter Leaves - $9.50. My spouse's dish. Chunky cuts of different veggies were tossed in an orange dressing. I didn't have any as I didn't care for any of the ingredients. Risotto Parmegiano - $15.50. Also my spouse's dish. I tried a spoonful of this heavy selection but I'm not a fan of its texture though he enjoyed it. Very rich and creamy. SERVICE: Our female server was friendly but she didn't check on us. A female manager came around checking on guests. ---------- BREAKFAST BUFFET: Daily breakfast came included with our room. I have never seen a fresh honey comb station until now. Honey and toast is way better than jelly & jam! My mushroom, ham and cheese omelette was fluffy and tasty. Also served on the line were eggs, bacon, potatoes, cereals, fruits and cheeses. Service was very good. Turns out iced tea isn't a standard offering so they had to make it special every day I was there. ---------- DINNER MENU: Apps, salads, meats, duck, pastas, fish, pork, desserts. FOOD: T-Bone for two - $53.00. Oh. My. Gawd. My spouse and I were in heaven savoring every bite of the filet and New York cuts. Dry-aged for 60 days and simply seasoned with just salt, the flavors were amazingly pure. THE best steak I've ever had. Highly recommended! Elena Stuffed Potato - $6.00. Wowed again. The bacon-y flavor soaked deep into the spud covered in cheese. THE best baked potato ever and also highly recommended. Grilled Sweetbreads - $13.00. Can this place get any better? Sure they can. Buttery soft goodness in every bite. Holy geezuz. Grilled Octopus - $16.50. The cut of tentacle was steamed to perfect tenderness with a good amount of chewiness. A streak of fried cassava lined the plate for a little bit of starch. SERVICE: Again, very professional. OVERALL: Exquisite steaks, nice breakfast and lunch options. Affordable for being in a hotel. Great service. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Wow! Delicioso! Favorite restaurant in BA so far, even my friend who is from BA said it is now his new fav. Highly recommend it! First off the food. Everything was amazing, no one complained even a tiny bit. Even the complimentary bread & butter were beautifully made. MUST GET: arroz negro (black rice seafood paella) - everyone's #1 after the meal, sweetbreads appetizer (the sauce was amazing), steak (get the dry-aged ones, the regular ones are good but the same as what you can get at other steakhouses in BA), smoked dulce de leche pancakes (the smoky taste is super strong so make sure to mix every bite with the ice cream, the more we ate it the better it tasted). DON'T GET: nothing! Everything was above average and i went with 5 others and they all loved it. Second - the ambiance. Great place for a date, family meal, meal with friends, anything! The decor is classy and elegant, dim but not too dark where you can't see your food. TIPS: recommend to get a reservation, but it wasn't too hard to get for dinner...we called 3 days in advance for a table of 6. If you haven't tried this place, Go now! :)

Xiaoying S.

Yelp
The decor is really nice and servants can speak English. It's inside the Four Seasons hotel and the food are a bit pricy. The appetizer (sweetbreads) was very tasty, as the egg was in liquid form and is used to dip potato and meat with. The dry-aged T bone were amazing when they are warm (i.e when they are just served). It came in a big portion size, so did the French fries, which are delicious even it's a little cold.

Yelp
So, the first question someone might have is whether they should go to dinner at a restaurant located inside a hotel or instead get out and explore the area. Well, after our meal tonight, I have no qualms about recommending a "dine in" experience at the Elena Restaurante...which should be viewed as a destination in and of itself. Here are a few things we noticed: - Very hip, modern, chic atmosphere with an open kitchen and great ambiance. Even with a lot of people it wasn't too loud for a conversation. - Superior service, from the sommelier to our waiter to all the helping wait staff. We didn't feel rushed; they didn't pour the wine too quickly; their suggestions were helpful. - Their wine list was great. We were looking for a Rose this evening and they have 6 or 7 to pick from, and the sommelier was knowledgeable and able to add color to the different wine selections. - We ordered the T-Bone for 2...wow! It was amazing and cooked perfectly. - The sides we ordered (roasted cauliflower and the squash bowl) were both good, and not too heavy. The bread on the table was crusty on the outside and moist on the inside. And, we finished with the Dark After 8 and the Mictlan Moctezuma Chocolate ice creams...oh so heavenly. Bottom line: A great dining experience, amazing food, cool surroundings. I'm going to have to find a way to get back here soon!
google avatar

David B.

Yelp
For a hotel restaurant this is above average. And being in a four seasons you would expect a high level of quality. Service tapered off as the evening progressed. While very good not sure it's a LA top 50
google avatar

Emily H.

Yelp
This restaurant is located inside the four seasons hotel. The steak here is really good! Especially liked the kobe one and the dry aged rib. it is like the typical high end restaurant in a nice hotel, feels like it's a bit catered to the "wealthy tourists", but for amazing steaks like this, i don't mind as much
google avatar

Yelp
Housed in the Four Seasons Hotel, Elena is a very attractive restaurant. It feels quite posh, and we loved the glass atrium which flooded the restaurant with natural light. Excellent job on the design elements, and open kitchen. We stopped by for lunch, but at night, I imagine it's a very cool place to dine. Also, the The Pony Line Bar at the front of the hotel looks like a nice spot for drinks before/after a dinner. We came for an early lunch on our final day in Buenos Aires. The menu had a mix of options, but features a prominent selection of beef and sides. We shared a steak, along with some salad and side dishes. All in all, the food was decent, though perhaps uninnovative in approach and not particularly special or memorable relative to some of our other meals. Honestly, felt the salad and sides really needed some more depth in flavor (perhaps more caramelization and seasoning). Steak was well-prepared. We selected: - Heirloom Tomato Salad, Buffalo Ricotta, Tapenade, Basil, Balsamic Reduction (ARS 245) - Bone-In Ribeye 450 grams (ARS 650) - Roasted Cauliflower, Pistachio, Lime, Dill (ARS 130) - Smoked Potato Puree (ARS 130) - Mictlan Montezuma Chocolate and Pistachio Ice Cream (ARS 185) Good selection of wines by the glass, and we enjoyed the 2016 Lunta Malbec (ARS185/glass). Nice latte (ARS 110) to conclude with as well. Service was very good overall, from start to finish, particularly by Argentine standards. Very attentive and welcoming. This alone made a fair amount of difference relative to some other experiences, including in our own hotel the Park Hyatt Palacio Duhau. Overall, given the food was somewhat unremarkable, this might not be at the very top of my list in Buenos Aires. However, between the inviting atmosphere, good service, and nice wines I would certainly return if in the city and wanting a reliable, stress free meal in an upscale environment. Total Cost: ARS 2,085 ~ USD 115 Credit Cards: Accepted English: Menu in English and Waitstaff Speak Dress: Upscale Tipping: Not on credit card, need to leave cash.

Yelp
Elena Restaurant is easily the best restaurant I ate at while in Buenos Aires. I recommend getting a reservation as it can get very busy some nights. The service is so-so-- as an American, it's a much slower style. There is a sommelier there to help with wine selections. My server was fluent in multiple languages which made ordering much easier. Ask for an English menu if you need it! Onto the food. By far the best item on the menu is the dry aged steak. If you are ordering steak, you are a FOOL if you don't get the dry aged. Heed my word, fellow Yelpers, or live in forever regret. My coworkers had like 5 steaks a piece while in Argentina, and the dry aged steak at the Elena Restaurant was their top pick. 3/4 of my coworkers said it was the best steak they've ever had in their LIFE. Boom. For dessert-- definitely get the vanilla gelato which takes like a whipped vanilla cloud of magic. It comes with one other flavor- choose wisely. Save room, it's worth it!
google avatar

John T.

Yelp
Came here during my time in BA and thought this place was absolutely amazing. The lamb I had tasted unlike any I've ever had. There were floral tones throughout the ridiculously sweet and tender meat. The sweetbreads were grilled to perfection and the desserts were incredible. One of the best places I went to in BA.
google avatar

Robosapiens R.

Yelp
True high end restaurant that I could easily put in the same category as: Mortons, Mastro's, STK & Ruth Chris steakhouses. Very impressive layout with open kitchen that is very, very busy. I highly suggest making a reservation ahead of time otherwise you will have to wait FOREVER for a table. You can see that it is a happening spot for government officials and borgias of BA. The service is very good and everyone was willing to help and spoke very good English. Will definitely come back!
google avatar

Tamara H.

Yelp
I kind of hated this place. The shrimp appetizer was fine but then the seafood paella was gross and came with a strange, overpowering orange sauce that lingered in my mouth for hours. The ambiance was cute but there are so many better places in Buenos Aires I'm kind of upset I ended up here- don't make the same mistake.
google avatar

Michele H.

Yelp
Great option for breakfast and dinner. They offer a lovely breakfast buffet display with a wide variety of hot & cold items. For dinner, I ordered the dry aged steak and seafood pot. It was the best steak I had in my life- tender, flavorful & juicy. Other than steak, Argentina is also known for its seafood. The seafood was fresh and portion was large enough for 3 people. Another favorite was the tomato soup made with tomatoes from Mendoza.
google avatar

Ana A.

Yelp
Amazing, quality ingredients, executed perfectly. Every dish was great, but of course the steak was the star of the show.

Yelp
Pick whatever on the menu. You're going to have an amazing meal. The staff is intelligent, friendly and attentive.

Yelp
I visited Buenos Aires for two weeks, and made a point to try as much of the authentic, local cuisine as possible in this time period, and Elena was THE BEST meal I had of my entire trip, and the best steak I have had in my entire life (I had the tenderloin, it was AMAZING!). What I discovered from my stay in this beautiful city is that they don't tend to use a lot of seasoning or sauces in their food (which isn't a bad thing, they let the quality of the meat/food speak for itself), but my American palette is used to food being over-seasoned and salty. Elena really exceeded expectations, and was not lacking in flavour in any way shape or form. The restaurant itself is in the Four Seasons hotel, the decor is very chic and romantic. The servers were very knowledgeable and helpful as far as recommendations. Everything we tried here - from the appetizers, entrees, and sides- were fantastic. The tenderloin was super tender and cooked medium-rare to perfection, just as requested. I recommend making a stop here if you are visiting Buenos Aires, and Pony Bar next door is a great place for a drink!
google avatar

Ilan S.

Yelp
Great great service, the ambiance it's perfect and lightning too. I was expecting much more for the decoration but it was ok, maybe I had bad luck in my order, but the food was not really tasty. I will give them another chance soon. Pd: they have a great Venezuelan manager, she tried to fix my experience no Matter what. Great employee
google avatar

Jeannette C.

Yelp
Excellent!! I had the opportunity to have breakfast and brunch. Both of them delicious, great ambience and excellent service. Our waiter Lucas was very nice and always willing to serve you with a smile.
google avatar

Stacey G.

Yelp
The best part of Elena is the service and atmosphere. The food, while very food, is so pricy and there are many many places in BA to have the same and more tasty. But it is lovely to have a buffet at breakfast and enjoy the fanciest of hotels and service.
google avatar

Herminio L.

Yelp
Service is this place is absolutely impeccable. The menu is spectacular at any meal. The attention to detail leaves you wondering if you ever going find anything that you could compare. My favorite in Buenos Aires, one of my favorites in the world. Do yourself a favor to go and enjoy yourself.
google avatar

Jinhao Z.

Yelp
Cordero is good. The corn sauce tastes great with lamb. The dessert is really good! But the stuffed potato here is bad. Just a boiled potato with some cheese on it, but at a price of 130 pesos. Not as good as expected. Disappointed.
google avatar

Mark K.

Yelp
Best food, service and selection in BA. I have been living here for 5 years and I can tell you nothing even comes close. Can you say oysters? Yes oysters in BA, need I say more? Do not hesitate and go, I promise you will be making your next reservation while you are there.

Yelp
This IS really as good as it gets! Both Elena and Pony Line bar are two places that any foodie must visit. In short, the steak.....you can cut with a fork (that tender!). They actually serve fibrous vegetables (like chard!) which was a refreshing option to see, as dark green veges like spinach, kale, chard are not common at Argentinian restaurants. The wine and cocktail possibilities are endless. The service was seamless, I think I had three attentive and knowledgeable waiters/waitresses which included a sommelier. Just overall amazing food, presentation, attention to details, friendly and thoughtful (I traveled solo and the Host offered me two luxury magazines and daily newspaper to read -- I left feeling so informed!). You get what you pay for here (per person about $80 USD) and I am SO glad I stopped in. Reservations are a must! Walk-ins are easier at the Pony Line. Gonzalo, the bartender at Pony Line gets extra kudos/thumbs up for the cocktail he made for me -- which was a winner in a previous cocktail competition. It was incredible -- a mix of Flor de Cana, grapefruit/pomelo maybe, Sapphire Gin, Fernet, and citrus essence. It was perfectly balanced, unique and refreshing -- thank you Four Seasons for adding to my robust experience in Buenos Aires.

Eddy F.

Yelp
For the expectations created around a restaurant within a Gourmet league I found it somewhat inconsistent: on one side, the service is one of the best features, at least 3 people want to make sure you are content with what you ordered (server, maitre, sommelier, manager). On the other, the ribeye which they market as aged, didn't the right temperature and didn't taste quite right. Ambiance is nice, but if anything the lighting could be stronger (too dark) Lastly it is expensive
google avatar

Yelp
This was probably the best meal I had on a 10-day trip to Argentina (and far from the cheapest - more like USA prices rather than Argentine Peso). The "Argentinean Kobe" with chimichurri however might be one of the finest cuts of beef I have ever had in my life - a definite must for any cattle lover's bucket list - cut like warm butter, and perfectly grilled and charred. The sommelier also introduced us to a wonderful boutique malbec - very, very good. So good in fact that evening I chased down and ordered a couple of bottles for pickup back in the USA. Excellent service across the board.

Yelp
Elena is a great Argentine steakhouse that's reasonably priced; the price is especially surprising since it's in the otherwise pricey Four Seasons hotel. We had terrific octopus and shrimp appetizers, followed by an excellent steak and an excellent trout. Service is spectacular. A definite go!

Yelp
Had high hopes after reading the reviews and seeing Elena mentioned on several best of lists. We were staying at the Four Seasons and wanted to give it a try but should have ventured out for a better meal. The steak was decent. We tried the tenderloin. It was a generous cut of meat and had good flavor. We also had white salmon. Would definitely not recommend this dish. It had no flavor. The cauliflower was pretty tasty as a side dish. The ambiance was nice and service was pretty good. But speaking strictly food, there are much better places in BA to try.
