The Best New Restaurants in Dallas, March 2025

"Praveen Prasanan of Shivas Bar and Grill opened this spot in the former Buzzbrews space in January. The menu is traditional Indian fare, and there are a few eye-grabbing dishes to try. Order the fish amritsair wrap (or make your own wrap from an extensive list of proteins and sauces), the chicken tikka salad, or saag chana." - Courtney E. Smith

Google
We had an absolutely amazing meal here! The soup was rich and flavorful, the lamb chops were perfectly cooked and tender, and the garlic naan was fresh, fluffy, and packed with flavor. But the real star? The butter sauce—it was unbelievably delicious and paired perfectly with everything. Hands down, this is the best Indian food we’ve had in Dallas. The flavors were authentic, the service was great, and we can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend!

Google
The best service and atmosphere I’ve experienced at an Indian restaurant. The workers take great pride in their restaurant. Parking is a little funky as you will park at the hotel nearby. A 3 spice is pretty spicy. I would definitely go back and do a 2.

Google
If you’re looking for a cozy, intimate little date night spot then this is the place for you! The ambiance spot on with beautiful colors throughout. We opted for the tandoori chicken wings, garlic nah and vegetable samosas. I got a small desert (gulab jamun, yum!) and mango yogurt drink to-go. The service was great, and the food tasted fresh but didn’t take long at all to arrive at the table. The flavors were incredible and had a great balance that left us excited for our next visit. Great price point and perfect sized portions. They have indoor/outdoor seating, and well as a vegan and kids menu, though as it is a small space I don’t recommend large parties/large families.

Google
While visiting Dallas, I came across the Elephant Indian Bar & Grill. The minute I walked in, the smell of warm spices enveloped me, and I knew I was in for something great. The space is cool and colorful, with a relaxed vibe, but the food just blew me away. The butter chicken was everything you want in an Indian dish: deeply seasoned, rich, and ridiculously good. The apricot chicken was a standout as well. The meat was incredibly tender, and the sweet hint of apricot perfectly balanced the heat. To top it all off, the cucumber margarita was crisp and refreshing, cutting through the richness in all the right ways. If you’re in Dallas and looking for fabulous Indian food in a fun, colorful spot, the Elephant grill is worth the stop.

Google
Living down the street and seeing this place come together, we finally took the time to try it out. I’m not well versed in Indian cuisine but all these dishes were amazing and packed with flavor. The samosas were so savory and crispy but in my opinion the Lamb Biriyani outshined the others. The service was outstanding, always making sure we had everything we needed and then some! We will definitely be back!

So happy that I’ve found another great Indian spot! The restaurant was very clean. The staff was welcoming and helpful. I came for lunch and ordered the Chana Masala (medium hot) and garlic naan. It came out fresh, and taste was rich and flavorful. I will definitely be back. 10/10

Google
I’m really glad I discovered this new Indian restaurant in Dallas! The bone-in tandoori chicken was cooked to perfection—super tender and well-seasoned. Plus, the prices were pretty reasonable. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in town. Memo, the manager, was fantastic and really prioritized customer service.

Google
SO GOOD! Definitely come here. The Tandoori Momos were our favorite but we also got the hummus and garlic naan, tikka masala and the elephant grill platters. Everything was absolutely amazing! We will be back and hope to become regulars :). Staff were super kind!

Yelp
The food was excellent! We ordered the coconut curry chicken and the elephant platter and both exceeded our expectations. The service was fast and all the staff were very kind and accommodating. The space is limited so come in early for a spot. And prepare to be impressed.

Yelp
I was really craving Indian food and finally gave this spot a try. We ordered chicken tikka and naan for delivery. The food arrived warm, which was a good start, but unfortunately the chicken itself was quite dry and the portion surprisingly small. We thought we ordered a single side of rice but ended up receiving two--no complaints there, though it was a bit confusing. The highlight was definitely the masala sauce--rich, flavorful, and everything you'd hope for. If only the chicken had matched that quality, this could've been a winner. Overall: Great sauce, underwhelming chicken, and small portions. Might give it another shot, but not rushing back.

Yelp
I ordered takeout from Elephant Indian Bar and Grill and got the chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. Overall, I was pleased with my meal and felt that the chicken tikka masala was very flavorful and better than many other places I've tried. The garlic naan was good, but not great. The atmosphere when I went inside had a good vibe. It is worth noting that it is next to a motel and someone tried to sell me a bike as I was picking up my order.

Yelp
This place was fantastic! Super impressed especially since they haven't even been open for a year. On a Sunday night we were sat immediately and it wasn't too busy, but they were getting a lot of to go orders. They took our order right away and the food also came out very quickly. Our server was very helpful with recommendations and describing the items to us. I also liked that you are able to choose a spice level to customize each dish. My butter chicken was full of flavor and a great portion. It's a much more casual place but still very nice inside. This will definitely be our go to Indian in Dallas from now on and I can't wait to try the rest of the menu.

Yelp
Super flavorful and nicely spicy food here. Love how low keyed the place is and how fairly priced all the meals are. The chili momos were outstanding. Loved the biryani with goat and lamb, and the tandoori chicken wings were perfect. Would highly recommend if you like Indian food or super spicy food. Yummy!

Yelp
A great option for Indian food in the Knox/Henderson & uptown area! We are glad to have an Indian restaurant in the neighborhood finally!! The service was great, they were friendly and attentive. The seating is plenty and nice, there is also an outdoor patio. Plenty of parking on the side or around back.

Yelp
Solid Indian food near downtown dallas? Yes, please! Elephant Indian is a newcomer to dallas located near 75 and Fitzhugh. Parking can be tricky but the staff told us all the parking around the property (even the stuff that says hotel guests only) is shared by the restaurant. The food and service are great. We got the chicken 65 and gobi 65 to start. Both were tasty and not over breaded like they often can be. Next we got the kofta curry and the chicken tikka masala as well as some tandoori chicken wings. All the dishes were on point and flavored perfectly. Portions were plenty big and we had plenty of leftovers. The wings were super flavorful but I'd say the star of the evening were the gobi and chicken 65. Both were delicious and I'd definitely recommend getting those if you are into some flavorful chicken and cauliflower! All in all a great addition to the dallas Indian dining scene.

Yelp
So... Ignore the fact that it used to be a diner attached to a two/three star motel. Ignore the fact that you have to still park in said motel parking lot to access the restaurant. Also ignore the fact that inside, despite a good refurbishment and Indian decor, the booths and countertop are still reminiscent of a diner. Bottom line, the food is excellent. Great portion size, varied menu, and the staff is super attentive and friendly. Probably some of the best butter chicken we've had. I also ordered the vindaloo and while I asked for a five spice level, I probably could've gone hotter if they were able. Regardless, this is definitely one to visit and if you live nearby or in the neighborhood, absolutely worth a stop. We went there following a musical near Fair Park and it was less than a 10 minute drive. Great central and north Indian food.

Yelp
Yes they are on uber, It is veg, and non veg friendly, and Gluten free options, no it's not Jain friendly. Its good Indian food, beside the Samosa is not one of the best spots for Samosa. There is spice level, so yes they can make it spicy. On the app, you can ask without halwa but they won't substitute with something else. Just a heads up this is a hit or miss spot. Depending on the day and time.

Yelp
The service was very friendly and efficient and the food had great flavor! We love Indian food and this spot offered the classic dishes you'd expect done at a high quality. The butter and garlic naan were both flavorful and perfectly complemented the aloo goobi and chicken tikka masala. I do wish the chicken tikka masala came as a slightly larger portion with more meat. The restaurant was clean and new.
google avatar

Yelp
Great food and service. Decent prices for the area. The butter chicken and tandoori chicken were great. Tandoori chicken mono also worth getting. Garlic naan was fantastic. Would recommend!

Yelp
New restaurant and I am so happy it's in my neighborhood. Ordered Tikka Masala Fantastic!! Don't stress about parking. Just park on the back. Shared parking lot.

Yelp
Attention Dallas: you no longer have to travel to Irving for top notch Indian food. Elephant Indian Bar & Grill is excellent! We had the onion pakora, chicken samosas, tandoori chicken, and coconut chicken...wow, sounds like a lot of chicken, but never mind that. Everything was excellent! We ordered the entree at spice level 3/5 and it was a bit spicy for my daughter, but pretty spot on for me. If you are at all timid, go lower. The naan was great too. I wish the raita was a bit tangier, but that was the only minor disappointment. They've done a great job of turning a former diner into a chic and comfortable restaurant. They don't appear to serve alcohol, but I saw others bring in wine. Yum!

Yelp
If you're craving authentic Indian food in Dallas, Elephant Indian Bar & Grill is an absolute must-visit! Every dish is packed with rich, bold flavors, and the experience from start to finish is top-tier. I had the Chicken Tikka Masala, and it was hands down one of the best I've ever had--and that's saying something because I've had the original in Glasgow, Scotland, where the dish was created! The sauce was velvety, perfectly spiced, and packed with deep, smoky flavors from the tandoori-grilled chicken. Paired with their Onion Kulcha, a warm, soft bread stuffed with seasoned onions and herbs, it was pure perfection. The combination of flavors was unreal! Beyond the incredible food, the hospitality here is first-class. The staff is welcoming, attentive, and genuinely passionate about their food and guests. You can tell they take pride in what they do, and it makes the dining experience even better. Dallas is lucky to have a spot like this. If you haven't been yet, do yourself a favor and go--you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Not too many good Indian restaurants near downtown Dallas so this is a gem! Don't have to run out to Irving area for my Indian food fix.
google avatar

Marcy A.

Yelp
Great new neighborhood spot! Food came out fast and it was great quality. I didn't realize the butter punjab had bone in the chicken. I'd order regular butter chicken next time. I learned later both dishes use the same delicious sauce. The interior was clean and would definitely dine in again.

William McCaddon ..

Yelp
I had the best Tikka Masala that I've ever had today. And the Garlic Naan was light and flavorful. Best Indian Food in Dallas.
google avatar

Catherine D.

Yelp
Food was excellent, came out quickly and was piping hot. The chicken was so tender. Tried the chicken samosas as an appetizer, they were also excellent. Will definitely be coming back.

Kavita S.

Yelp
Ordered butter chicken via Uber Eats. The chicken was left over tandoori chicken covered in a very heavy curry that lacked flavour and made my stomach upset. The garlic naan and onion kulcha were decent.

Yelp
OMGWOW! I think this is what Indian food is supposed to taste like-- fresh, flavorful, and complex! There's so much which sounds amazing on the menu, it's hard to decide! Their Butter Chicken was probably the best we've ever had. Their sauce was smooth, silky, and flawless. The waiter informed us it's authentically made with bone-in dark meat, as opposed to the white meat chunks Americanized Indian food has made commonplace. Go for the dark meat and you won't be disappointed! Years ago, a colleague made homemade samosas for a potluck at work and we've never had such good samosas since. This has now been corrected! Our order of samosas were soft, just crunchy enough, perfectly spiced, and so, so good! It was easy to tell they had been carefully hand formed and freshly fried. The rest of our meal (entrees, appetizers, naan) was amazing. Our waiter was knowledgeable and helped us navigate the extensive menu, steering us in delicious directions. We also loved how the cozy, eccentric, ambiance of Buzzbrews still remains in this location, despite such a different take on cuisine. The booths are the same, along with the dynamic artwork, but the theme is a shift which better suits the new menu. Let's be real, also, good Indian food is hard to come by in this neighborhood. Elephant doesn't have too much competition. Yes, Roti is close by, but that's a different take. (We're guessing regionality comes into play. For example, Roti's korma sauce is creamy with fruit, while Elephant's has almonds. Rice at Roti is yellow, with saffron flavors and Elephant's is white with peas and carrots.) Since our visit, every time we drive by, Elephant is busy! As they should be! Welcome to the neighborhood, Elephant Indian!

Yelp
I am a rice and naan snob. Both were cooked to perfection. The rice was fluffy and warm. The naan was crispy and chewy at the same time. Topped with lots of butter and garlic, and tasted absolutely delicious. All the curries were really good too. Will be ordering from here again.

Yelp
Oooooooh this was soooo good! The best spots I swear u find last min! The best part for me was the tomato soup (recommend as an appetizer) with garlic naan! For me this place is the best I had in USA. A must go if Indian food is what you crave. Ambiance is mellow and modern, I enjoy eating in a place that's not too rowdy. They are located next a motel so parking is weird but nevermind that just go inside and enjoy!

Yelp
Elephant Indian Grill, Fitzhugh & Central: understated charm & the service and food are unfussy yet marvelous! 10/10 recommend! I had the Paneer Salad & Mango Chicken, & I'll be back soon!

Elizabeth G.

Yelp
Such a cute place and the delightful young man who served us was so helpful with describing best appetizer to try and so attentive. Since the level of spice was super tasty but I was needing water refills and he took care of me . I am mild mannered on spice levels but Birthday Boy loves the spice - so on our dish of Chicken Tikka we comprised with a level 2 . The portions are perfect for sharing and the flavors and beautiful colors of the dishes were photo worthy ! I am a fan of Indian food and so excited you are here and so close by and so good . Not only were the dishes a visual feast for the eyes , you could taste all the blended spices and rich velvety sauce . We got appetizer - a chili momo , Chicken Tikka for entree and Naan and had a perfect Birthday lunch . Parking was easy it has shared space with hotel behind it . This place has such a cool vibe ! The entire staff were so welcoming. Cannot wait to come back and try everything on the menu !! I need a sample plate cause I want to try it all !! Well done and thank you for making it a special occasion. See you soon

Yelp
The food was so good and the service was even better! I will definitely be coming back. So many great vegan options and they were so accommodating to our vegan dietary needs. if you are vegan get the coconut masala! The ambiance is great it is super clean and my cute yet casual interior decor.
google avatar

Yelp
The sauces are great, but I wouldn't liked the dishes better if they used white meat. My curry had mushy pieces of chicken. I loved the samosas and their naan is delicious
google avatar

Scottie S.

Yelp
Ordered delivery and truly enjoyed! Chicken Tikka Masala was wonderfully spiced with aromatic flavors. The butter naan was better than the cheese naan but both were good!
google avatar

Courtney R.

Yelp
This place was fantastic! My boyfriend and I got carry out and we loved it. It was very easy to find staff was great and food was delicious. We got two soups and two entrées. He got the tandoori chicken and I got the vegetarian dal highly recommend!
google avatar

Ben N.

Yelp
Parking is convenient, as you can use any of the hotel parking options. Now, onto the food--everything we tried was outstanding! We ordered the onion pakora, garlic naan, Punjabi butter chicken, and chicken saag. Each dish was flavorful and perfectly prepared; I would happily order them all again. The service was quick, attentive, and genuinely friendly, making for a truly delightful dining experience. This is undoubtedly a neighborhood gem worth visiting!
google avatar

Laurel Y.

Yelp
I love this place! It's clean and cozy. The staff are so friendly and inviting. And the food is delicious. They have generous portions and fair prices. So thankful to have yummy Indian food close to home.
google avatar

Yelp
We have been wanting to try this new spot in the old buzz brews and stopped in the other night and it did not disappoint! We had a great warm and spicy meal on a cold night. Portions are large and we had leftovers. The food is excellent and has great flavor. I love spicy food and got the soup at a spice level of 5 and it had a serious kick. We had really great service as well. The neighborhood needed a good Indian cuisine spot and the elephant Indian grill is a welcome addition!

Magdalena F.

Yelp
Awesome, awesome, awesome. The best indian food in Dallas!! The workers are incredible too!!!
google avatar

T P.

Yelp
This was our first visit and definitely not the last! We talked with 3 different employees who were all very nice. The chili momos with chicken were very tasty. Then we got the mango chicken curry and hariali chicken kebabs with spicy masala sauce. Delicious! We enjoyed everything. Thank you!
google avatar

Angela C.

Yelp
Best Indian food in the area. I'd highly recommend service was great. Some of the best flavors I've tasted yet.
google avatar

Reilee B.

Yelp
Dallas was in need of good quality reasonably priced Indian food and they deliver that. I am excited to have them in the area and will be adding them into the regular takeout favorites rotation.
google avatar

Deepak R.

Yelp
We had dinner here with some colleagues and I tried their vegetarian options. I ordered the Gobi 65 and Paneer Chili. The Gobi 65 was pretty disappointing; it looked overcooked and didn't really have any flavor to it. The Paneer Chili was okay, but it tasted like they mostly used tomato paste and chili paste for the sauce. Nothing really special about either dish, so overall, it was just an average experience for us.

James F.

Yelp
Well it didn't start off good-I thought I ordered Chicken Tikka Masala when I had actually ordered Veggie Tikka Masala -so I was already disappointed before i even started!!! I was proven wrong. The veggie tikka was very good. One of the best tikka masala's I have had in a long time Highly recommend this restaurant -I will most definitely be eating there again 5/5

Jay S.

Yelp
Just had lunch at elephant! Great service, great food, great atmosphere. They get the hat trick!
google avatar

Yelp
We love this place. The food is so yum! Great menu and lots of options. I hope they get a liquor license soon! That would make this place even better!
google avatar

Clark P.

Yelp
We really enjoyed this place, and will return often. The Chicken Vindaloo was VERY good, and we also enjoyed the Chicken 65 and Garlic Naan.
google avatar

Michelle S.

Yelp
The food is delicious and the portions are very generous! Highly recommend the butter chicken and garlic naan
google avatar

Arianny R.

Yelp
A group of friends and I tried this place for the first time recently. All the food we ordered was flavorful. I enjoyed the mixed fried rice and chicken lollipops the most. The mango lassi was also good. Casual spot with friendly service.
google avatar

Meredith C.

Yelp
Great food, friendly staff, fast service! I recommend trying the paratha! We will be back again
google avatar

Leo H.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem. The food was absolutely delicious! From the sauces to the breads, service, and cute vibe. Had it last weekend and already coming back tonight again!
google avatar

Philip B.

Yelp
Great food with good spice and just a right amount of heat. Not sure I would want to eat there. It's attached to a hotel. It's our new go to for Indian takeout.

Matthew S R.

Yelp
Best Indian in Dallas. Very affordable and absolutely delicious. I took mine to-go but the vibe in the restaurant was actually very comfortable and inviting. I will definitely be back.

John T.

Yelp
Oddly located, as part of a motel, but the food was great. The service was good and the atmosphere was clean and nice.

Shay F.

Yelp
The service was amazing and the Korma Xpress was so deliciously flavorful. The restaurant is beautifully painted with great views. Best Indian food restaurant I've been to in the metropolitan.

Yelp
Tried out this new restaurant last night and think we have a new favorite northern Indian restaurant! Aagaman was a wonderful server and so was the other nice young man who took care of us. (Forgot to get his name) The owner even stopped by a couple of times to check on us. All the food we had was excellent. Tikka Masala is always my test meal at different Indian restaurants and theirs was great! We also enjoyed the chicken lollipop appetizer and the beef/lamb Seekh Kebab. The kebab had a great flavor, but it was a little dry. However, dipping it in their fresh green hariyali and tikka masala sauces made up for the dryness. ;-) As I said, it's a new favorite place to go and right in our neighborhood. It's a small, but charming venue and there is limited parking, but it is worth it!!!
