Elevation Burger

The service that we received was pretty quick, especially for it being during lunch time. Getting a seat wasn’t too difficult either. The food was okay; not terrible, but certainly nothing to write home about. The staff did a nice job of keeping the place clean. Overall, this place is easy to get to and the costs is what you would expect from a tourist destination in DC.

Don’t make the mistake we did. Pack a lunch! 10.50 plus tax for kids meals. $84.41 for a family of five with 1 root beer to drink. They messed up 4 of 5 orders, including a gluten free bun for a food allergy. They also billed us for a fourth kids meal we didn’t order. And the food is at best mediocre. My remade burger is cold. My wife’s burger wasn’t hot enough to melt the cheese.

Food is fairly priced BUT the drinks is where they get you…$4 for fountain drink and $4 for a bottle of water… When I went, the chicken tenders were actually more like heavily breaded popcorn chicken; not bad at all and you get a lot. Two adults could eat an order of the chicken tenders (popcorn chicken). And the staff was mediocre at best.

They were totally not prepared for Spring Break whatso ever. Waited over an hour and a half just to get lunch at this location in the zoo. Felt like a zoo literally inside the restaurant. From the slow service, running out of food and over priced food. 2 kids meals and a regular meal will set you back $50 real quick. And I'm talking 3 piece tender meals and a burger meal. Not worth it at all.

Service was comparatively quick at 2:30 pm. But the quality of the strips were meh. Portion for the price is very good. There is no option for food only this place serving food for the park and quality should be improved. Felt like a checking should have been cooked well. Wait time might be problem if you are going in proper lunch time. But the auntie Anne’s wait time was way too much about 30-40 minutes for about 15-20 customers in front of us at 2:30 pm?

THE best place to eat at the zoo hands down! Easily better than five guys or McDonald’s. Burger was not greasy at all and tasted like a backyard bbq. Would definitely visit again.

Very quick service, which was surprising due to the huge number of people present. Food is unfortunately typical cafeteria food despite the polished and updated interior of the location. Service rating 5 stars. Facility conditions and cleanliness was 5 stars. Food quality was 1 star. Pack a lunch and eat in the nice updated facility instead. At least until FONZ books a better food vendor.

Easily the worst food in DC. Not only do the staff ignore everyone who comes through the door but then they give you the worst chicken strips I have ever experienced. I feel like they are rock bottom, leftover chicken pieces glued together and pre-fried so all they have to do is heat it up.

Not horrible, not great, just meh. There aren't a ton of food options at the zoo so it is what it is. I'm so glad there's an abundance of indoor seating though. We didn't have any issue finding a table at 1 pm on a Tuesday. Ordering was easy, we got a chicken sandwich with just chicken and bread for one son and grilled chicken tenders with fries. I like that they have grilled chicken options. They do have a kids menu, we just didn't order off of it. We also got a cookie and Gatorade. The chicken was ok. Nothing special, but it was fine. The fries were your standard fries. The cookie was ok. I like that they have tons of sauces (ketchup, mayonnaise, honey mustard, ranch, bbq, etc.) They also have fountain drinks which makes it easy to get your own water. So overall I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here, but I do think it deserves more than one star.

I love Elevation Burger. This location gives Elevation Burger a bad name. The burger was cold, ice cold. Same with the fries. For 1:30pm, with people ahead of me, how does a burger become this cold? The fries were also cold, no crisp at all, more soggy and chewy. Elevation Burger owners, step in and do something. You are my favorite burger! I have never had a bad Elevation Burger, til today.

I think theres a reason theres no reviews for this...other than the fact that its inside the zoo... We have a membership to the DC zoo and went here for the first time a couple days ago. We went in around 1230, (normal lunch time right) There was a forming line for the one cashier and the ordering took what felt like ages. The woman behind the counter was full of sighs and eyerolls. Its on their menu that they have shakes and floats, ice cream etc. I asked for a milkshake and her response was just 'we don't have that' without even looking at me. So unbelievably unfriendly. I felt bad for the kitchen staff trying to keep up with the orders coming in. We got our order relatively fast compared to how long it took to order. The grilled cheese was much better than the chicken strips. After two bites of the chicken I told my kids to stop eating it. The chicken tasted spoiled ...;.I tried to tell the lady up front after we ate it but couldn't get her attention. I hope no one got sick from it. ALL in all just go up the hill a little bit to the food court 'run by the zoo' its so much better tasting and they often have a food truck there too.
