"Orange banquettes and soft lighting enhance and offset the dark green wall tiles. Run by an energetic and passionate young team, Elgin can be relied upon to pamper its patrons. The menu, which changes regularly, showcases deftly prepared European dishes made mostly with local produce. Try the pork belly with fried brussels sprouts or gnocchi with lamb sugo, both of which are rich in flavours." - Michelin Inspector

Warm Vibes and Delicious Food at Elgin Saigon I had a great dining experience at Elgin Saigon. The food was excellent, especially the drunken noodles and beef steak, which were both flavorful and cooked to perfection. What really stood out was the service. The staff were genuinely friendly and even offered me tastings from a few different wines to help me find one I liked, which made the evening feel extra thoughtful. The setting is cozy and intimate, making it a great spot for a relaxed dinner with good food, wine, and conversation. I’d happily go back.

MUST VISIT! We chose Elgin for a private in-home dining experience in District 1 at an Airbnb to celebrate my sister’s bachelorette with 18 ladies. Managing everything from Sydney, Australia, we coordinated with Doug, the restaurant owner, and the entire process—from our first conversation to the final service—was seamless and exceeded our expectations. Doug and his team were incredibly helpful and accommodating. Being Australian, Doug understood our needs perfectly. We selected a few dishes from Elgin’s Instagram page, and he customized the menu to suit our group, even generously adding complimentary desserts—a selection of panna cotta, chocolate tart, and sticky date pudding—all of which were absolutely delicious! The stand out dishes were: Fried Potato Cake, Wagyu Tartare, Hokkaido Scallops and Drunken Noodles. Every single dish was a hit with our guests. Doug’s team even visited the Airbnb a day before the event to assess the dining area and kitchen space, ensuring everything was perfectly set up. Beyond the food, the attention to detail was exceptional. His team provided name cards, a welcome board, and printed menus as keepsakes. We also had an on-call chef throughout the night to reheat dishes and cater to specific dietary needs. For instance, one of our guests was pregnant, and the chef thoughtfully prepared a separate dish just for her—service that truly went above and beyond! To top it all off, when we made a last-minute request for caviar (a special request from the bride-to-be), Doug somehow made it happen on the spot—it was like he anticipated exactly what we needed to get the party started! A huge thank you to Doug and his team for their outstanding service. We highly recommend Elgin to anyone visiting HCMC!

This was by far, hands down, unequivocally, absolutely the best (non Viet) dining experience I had in HCMC. The head chef and team there are absolutely COOKING up a storm at Elgin. Each dish we ordered momentarily transported our taste buds to other cultures, cuisines, and cities which was a nice reprieve from the hot hustle and bustle of Saigon. Definitely recommend visiting Elgin for a meal on your own, with a special someone, or in a group of family or friends!!! 5/5

Decided to give this place a try before heading out of the city. The atmosphere was great; warm, inviting, chill. The menu wasn't very robust but they had a few options that caught my eye. The food was delicious and I even opted for dessert. Would love to go back and try more of the menu.

Will return to Elgin time and time again, such a wonderful experience with amazing food. We ordered the spicy duck salad to start (keep in mind the sauce is extremely spicy, but so tasty, we pushed through the spice🤣) followed by the seared scallops, spicy drunken noodles and the ultimate beef short rib. Don’t even get me started on the sticky toffee pudding! Every part of this meal was so flavourful and perfectly cooked. I really could not fault a single thing that we ate it was that good! The service was so friendly and engaging, our waitress was lovely and even offered us a half portion of the salad so that we could try more different options and not get too full! One of the best meal we had in Saigon for sure ❤️ thank you so much!

I dont care much about Michelin selected but the service is always top notch. Every time I went to have dinner here, they always make sure to treat every customer nicely and attentively, way much better than other Michelin recommended places in town. The food is tasty with asian-inspired flavors. Some dishes are super good, some (just for me) are too salty, too abundant. At the end, it’s personal preference. And I will always highly recommend this place if you look for something casual but decent enough and of course with excellent service. I will come back to try seasonal menu for sure.

Let’s start with the food - the scallops were nice, the fried potato was the best dish, the pork belly and Brussel sprouts were way too salty, the short rib was ok but the corn was very plain, the steak was chewy and the fries were not crunchy, the drunken noodles was horrible (the texture of the pasta was hard and the flavour was pungent), the lamb gnocchi was average. Secondly the service - the wait staff were lovely but the food took soo long to come out. We had a 2 hour booking and used the entire 2 hours. Atmosphere - was ok but upstairs was so hot. Cost - it was pretty pricey for Vietnam and not worth the cost. I’m summary… I won’t be coming back

What can I say? This was the capstone meal for a month-long excursion to Vietnam and it was *pitch perfect*. Just looking at the dishes Google is prompting me to recommend (most of which weren't on the menu when we went in early April 2025) it seems like Elgin isn't afraid to change up their offerings - which makes it all the more impressive that everything we ordered was delicious. Chutoro Toast. Just serve me a whole loaf. Grilled Pomfret. I almost cut ties with my bestie of 20 years fighting over who got the last bite. Watermelon Granita. I wouldn't mind selling a kidney or two for an extra scoop of that coconut semifreddo. The other 6(!) things we had slapped in a similar fashion. But the real kicker was the service. Our hostess was attentive and accommodating, the kitchen staff graciously gave us permission to film, and Doug (one of the co-owners) made the time to talk to us and make our meal extra special. You can tell from the food that these folks take pride in their cooking. You can tell from the service that they take pride in their *restaurant*. The perfect dining experience doesn't exist. If I wanted to nitpick, I'm sure there are things I could muster up. There always are. The real magic lies in knowing how to leave your customers so satisfied that those things don't matter. And that's what separates restaurants like Elgin from the rest. P.S. Doug if you're reading this hi I hope you remember me we chatted briefly about the scourge of fake reviews on Google. Anyways consider this me blackmailing you for the recipe for ya'lls brussel sprouts (picture included) cause I just bought a bunch and I swear to god left to my own devices I will boil them till they're mush and eat them unseasoned. Surely you don't want that food crime on your conscience, do you? 😂 For anyone else reading this, yes the brussel sprouts really are that good. Order them.
