I am a self-taught baker with New Orleans roots, currently residing in the historic neighborhood of Bronzeville. Having relocated in February 2022 from New Orleans on my own personal Great Migration, I've continued to pursue my passion for baking in Chicago. Since settling here, I've had the privilege of collaborating with major corporations, supporting local Chicago businesses, and contributing to nonprofit organizations. My New Orleans heritage deeply influences my life and sets me apart as a baker dedicated to bringing authentic New Orleans flavors to Chicagoland. I have been personally responsible for the design and construction of my legendary custom cakes. Each cake is meticulously hand-designed and tailored to suit the unique occasion it celebrates. I take great pride in creating not just delicious treats but also unforgettable experiences. Baking has become more than just a hobby or a profession for me; it is a way for me to spread love, joy, and happiness through my art. I look forward to continuing this journey and sharing my creations with the world.
"This charming café and bakery is located just off of 35th street in Bronzeville and has a full menu of breakfast items and regular bakery favorites, as well as three vegan bakery options. Their vegan chocolate chip and shortbread cookies are a delightful treat to bring along with you down the street to Lake Michigan, but their vegan banana pudding jar is really the first thing you should try. Layered in an 8oz glass mason jar are banana bread, coconut whipped cream, banana pudding, and shortbread cookie pieces. The coconut cream is smooth, and the pudding layer is rich with a banana flavor that isn’t overwhelming. Dare we say, this dessert may even have the power to convert the strongest of banana haters." - Cyd Seifert
