A seasonal rooftop with Mon River and Hot Metal Bridge views, Eliza layers in live-music nights and Pittsburgh-inflected bistro dishes. Spotlighted by NEXTpittsburgh and the hotel’s 2025 calendar, it’s a relaxed South Shore escape for golden-hour drinks.

A contemporary bistro located inside of Hotel Indigo near the South Side.  Featuring breakfast, lunch, dinner, happy hour, live music and great vibes.  The space is pretty large, and the food prices are great.  We tried the Fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken, it was superb. Fettuccine noodles and tomatoes tossed in a creamy Parmesan sauce topped with grilled chicken. Also had the Teriyaki Glazed Salmon which was cooked to perfection, a teriyaki honey glazed piece of salmon topped with a pineapple salsa served with mashed potatoes and a seasonal veggie which was asparagus. Can’t forget about dessert, the Molten Chocolate Cake A La Mode absolutely hit the spot! Right now through February they’re featuring a winter pop up bar- Snowflake and Spirits! Located inside Eliza. Featuring creative, handcrafted cocktails as well as seasonal mocktails.  The space is decorated adorably and has the coziest vibes, very festive! Tons of photo ops as well!  Tried two cocktails from their pop up menu- the Black Swan Cranberry Sangria and the Gingerbread Martini. The staff is extremely friendly and personable. There is a parking garage next door, as well as some street parking available, they have their own lot, but for guests. Would recommend checking them out!

A hidden gem in Pittsburgh! Consistently provided my lunch takeout with pretty good quality.

We had such a great dining experience here that we plan on coming back anytime we're in the area. Our server Jeremy was incredibly gracious, friendly and always smiling. He made us feel like we were getting special treatment. We came during happy hour and were beyond pleased to see that the portions were still very generous. We usually avoid happy hours because most establishments reflect the discount in the reduced portion size they give you. The atmosphere was lively without being so loud that we could still carry on a conversation.

The space is absolutely beautiful. The incorporation of steel + mod is perfect. The salmon dish I had for lunch was cooked to perfection and the flavor is still on my tongue. I will definitely make this stop more often. The management is attentive to patrons and accommodating. I'm looking forward to the rooftop bar opening!

If you find yourself staying at the Indigo Hotel or near the hotel, stop downstairs and go inside the Eliza Bistro. The service and food are fantastic!!! The dishes that come out of this kitchen are definitely top notch. The chefs really care about how the plating looks when it comes out of the kitchen. KUDOS to the chefs and staff!!! From Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner, you will enjoy them. Thank me when you enjoy your meal there

Staying at Hotel Indigo breakfast was not included but good thing was that Eliza was a good option at all times! The food was reasonably priced and ok. I must warn that serving was slow and on special occasions you need to reserve a spot.

I was here on a Thursday when there was a jazz event plus a group event happening. We were informed the staff was operating with limited staff one waiter and one bartender so there could be a wait. I cannot say enough about the superb service the waiter,Gerald provided. He was moving constantly but he never lost his smile or professionalism. Thanks Gerald for the excellent customer service. The food and drinks were also good.

Great food and friendly service. We had so much fun visiting and laughing that I didn't get any pics of the food. But here are some pics of the gorgeous hotel lobby.

Yelp
Food and service were great. On this visit, the restaurant was freezing cold since the AC was blasting. The AC units were also leaking waster from the ceiling to the floor. While eating , a tango class was occurring simultaneously. The dancers and waitstaff kept having to wipe the water from the floor during the class to prevent someone from falling. Of course, this seemed incredibly unsafe. I would come back to this restaurant.

Yelp
I checked out their acoustic series night and their menu earlier this week! While in kind of an unusual spot, the food made up for it! We enjoyed the salmon and the packed to the brim Ruben sandwich we got but the real star of the show here was the white cheddar cheese curds - beer battered and fried to perfection, they didn't last long! I did have some constructive feedback to share with the staff and they were really gracious about it so I'm excited to see them improve! I did note that the fries weren't as crispy as I'd like and the cake itself had an almost gritty texture. The acoustics and chill atmosphere gave our meal a relaxed vibe which is perfect for a girly catch up session and I enjoyed the overall industrial motif and color scheme of the hotel. They also have a rooftop bar that is open select hours that had a perfect view of the river and sunset. We were so stuffed that we went for a lovely long walk along the water on the Three Rivers Heritage Trail which is conveniently close by. While we didn't get a chance to try their cocktails (I may have overindulged all LDW ahem), that chocolate martini was calling my name so I'm sure I'll be back for their happy hour! What we got: Teriyaki honey glazed salmon topped with pineapple salsa and served with mashed potatoes asparagus White cheddar cheese curds, beer battered and fried Reuben sandwich with corned beef and sauerkraut piled high on thick marbled rye bread, topped with melted provolone and 1000 island dressing, served with fries White chocolate raspberry cake with vanilla cake layers frosted with white chocolate buttercream and raspberry filling

Yelp
Met some friends for Trivia night at Eliza and I had a wonderful time. The bars ambience is beautiful and the drinks and food were really good! I have to say our server was a little off putting but she straightened up after about an hour ( personality issues I guess). Trivia night was so much fun and I'm glad I came. Other than our waitress it was a great night woth beautifully crafted drinks and great food that came out in good time. There is plenty of room so bring a gaggle of friends when you come and prepared to have a fun filled eevening and a beautiful experience.

Yelp
For a hotel restaurant this was good! We were a big group so it was a bit overwhelming for our waiter and we all got our food at different times, but it did come out hot.

Yelp
This restaurant inside the Hotel Indigo is pretty big and has a reasonably priced menu for a hotel. The wings I ordered for lunch were pretty tasty and had a nice hot kick to them. It may be the only decent place to eat on the opposite side of the Hot Metal Bridge from all the cool places. On a nice day, it may be worth it to walk across for other options, but if it's cold or rainy (highly likely in Pittsburgh) and you need something, then this will do. The service was pretty good with 2 servers handling about 6 tables dining in for lunch on a Monday in December. I may have waited a bit too long for a drink refill, which a waiter should know when you're eating something spicy. If I stayed at the hotel again (I totally would), I'd probably stop here again, even if it's just for an IC Light draft or five.

Yelp
Very nice outdoor space. We wanted to go on the rooftop but seems service is only for rentals and parties so we went on the patio instead. Nice, quiet atmosphere with excellent service. We ordered drinks, hummus plater, and I got the reuben. Everything was made to order so took a little time but worth the wait. Platter came with assortment of fresh veggies, cheese, bread, and hummus. It was very filling. The reuben was really big, enough for two so I only ate half. Homemade chips are always the best! The menu is somewhat limited on what you can order and a little over average priced but it is at a hotel. Free parking in the outdoor lot as well

Yelp
I dislike giving sub par reviews, but a 3 just does not fit the two experiences while a guest at the Indigo Hotel. Dinner was seated and service slow but friendly. Menus and drinks were up front quick. Orders taken. The atmosphere is very nice, clean and fresh vibe. Live music was really a nice touch. Bar is up front and lots of seating by booth or table and chair. There is an exterior door to enter & exit. Food out in a reasonable time of 15-20 minutes. Chicken sandwich & fries, but order incorrect. Had onion rings as a side. Daughter chicken fingers and fries. Waters not refilled, had to ask another waitress. Onion rings brought out quickly. The taste, or lack of gets a 1 from both of us. Neither finished our meals. My house cab was the best thing I had. Also pricey over $55.00 with tip. Cash out was fine. Breakfast was again slow. Waitress not friendly, just going through the motions. A basic bagel with sausage and egg was good per daughter. My eggs, potatoes & sausage was good. But no toast, waitress corrected. Bill was handled timely. So breakfast was stronger, but cannot see a 3 star average. They have something here. Improvements on food and service even slightly could have changed my review to an A-OK. 2.5 rounding down.

Yelp
I don't often give such low reviews, but our experience at Eliza, the restaurant in Hotel Indigo, was very disappointing. When we checked in, we confirmed the hours of the restaurant with the front desk staff. The restaurant looked super nice and welcoming and appeared to be a lovely place to enjoy drinks and appetizers with friends. We made plans to return to the hotel on Halloween evening, after spending the day with our daughters, to unwind and talk. It was around 8:30pm, and the restaurant's hours listed an 11pm closing time. The bar was pretty quiet, we assumed due to Halloween and a home Pitt football game. We selected a couple of seats at the bar. When the manager came out from the kitchen, he was openly hostile and told us the kitchen was closed and that we'd have to leave. He said there wasn't enough business to keep it open. We asked for suggestions of where else we could go (we're both out of towners), and he lazily pointed & said there's about 28 blocks of restaurants "that way." Obviously a very frustrating experience!

Yelp
We're hardly ever on the Southside, but I've had this place on my mind since I first became aware of it. And today was the day. Eliza is located on Technology Drive across 2nd Avenue from Bates Street in the Hotel Indigo Pittsburgh. We were there at about 12:45 PM on a weekday. It was weirdly empty. But it's a nice room - comfortable, not at all stuffy. And the food was quite good. I had the Steel City Club Sandwich (Smoked turkey, black forest ham, bacon, white cheddar, lettuce, tomato, onion, Pittsburgh Pickle Company pickles & mayo on Mancini's tomato-basil bread.) Basic sammy, upgraded with interesting, high-quality ingredients. I'd guess the mayo was house made. Fries were real. My wife had a Grilled Steak Wrap (Roasted peppers, grilled onions, tomato and greens with mozzarella). Again, better than the description suggested. She also had Wedding Soup as an app. Not very traditional, but very good. Reasonable prices for a hotel, Place was a little understaffed, but our server was pleasant and efficient. We'll be back.

Yelp
We had a big event there for about 100 people in the bar area. The servers were amazing people - so much fun! Great drinks, food, atmosphere. We had a great time and I am so grateful to the staff.

Yelp
I've eaten here a few times and the service has always been pretty average. However, my most recent experience will be the reason I never go back. I split a wrap with my mom here and the next day, we both had the same symptoms of food poisoning. It was awful and lasted more than a day for both of us. I called Eliza to make them aware that it could've been from their kitchen in case anyone else got sick. First of all, the man who answered the phone didn't even ask what I had ordered to eat the day before. In fact, he responded with "I have a full restaurant right now and am alone so I can't deal with this." This was an extremely unprofessional way to handle someone who could have gotten really sick from something in their kitchen. No precautions were taken, and he didn't seem to care that he could get many other people sick if precautions weren't taken.

Yelp
(Last visited 1/21/2020) Nestled inside the Hotel Indigo is this chic, modern, upbeat, fun restaurant. I had both breakfast and dinner here and I really enjoyed myself. Here's why... Atmosphere/Appearance: Right on the first floor of the hotel off to the left of the entrance is Eliza. It's a very wide-open restaurant with a wrap-around bar and PLENTY of space for big parties. The dark woods and décor give off a very cool, sleek and relax vibe, which I loved. There is also a sexy rooftop that's open during the warmer months, but as I mentioned I came here in January so it was pretty cold out. Service: Carrie took care of me for breakfast and she was wonderful. Jodi took care of me during happy hour and dinner time who was just as wonderful. Jodi was talkative and kept me company as I sat at the bar by myself. Food: For breakfast I was able to create my own omelet. So I made it ridiculous. Lol. My omelet consisted of caramelized onions, roasted tomatoes, peppers, mushrooms, spinach, pepper-jack cheese, sausage, ham and bacon. It was enormous and that's what I wanted. I needed something to carry me throughout the day and it certainly did. The omelet came with breakfast potatoes and toast, but I subbed the toast for a small bowl of fruit for an extra charge. I was ready for a nap after breakfast. Lol. Later on that evening I came back for happy hour and try out some more of their menu. I started out with the Happy Hour Sample Platter which comes with 2 pork potstickers, a barbecue meatball, 2 of the Eliza Chicken Wings and hummus with pita chips. It is such a good idea to have plates like these that are cheap so that we can get a taste of what the restaurant has to offer before we can actually make a decision on a full order. Like I did, with wings of course. Lol. The Eliza Chicken Wings come in 1 flavor, "Chef's Buffalo" and were delicious. Certainly worth checking out. Value: Breakfast ran me $16.50 which consisted of a base price of $10.00 for the omelet, $0.50 extra for each thing I added and another $2.00 for substituting the toast for a bowl of fruit. It was all absolutely worth it because it kept me full all day long and tasted so, so good. My happy hour sample plate was only $5.00. I got to try all those different foods, for only $5.00! That's certainly a great deal. The wings weren't as good of a deal, but were only. 8 wings for $10.00 isn't the best, but it was okay. Being fully satisfied for $15.00 between sampler plate and appetizer I ordered WAS worth the money. In conclusion, I really enjoyed it here. It's a fun, vibrant, bubbly place to hang out, grab a drink and relax after a long day. Breakfast isn't bad either!

Yelp
I will preface this by saying I have never left a bad review before but this place earned it and I would hate to see someone else drive here, pay to park and waste their time. We went here with friends for the Christmas pop up bar. The only positive thing I can say is it was very nicely decorated and the lobby of the hotel is cozy. As far at the restaurant goes...if I could give it zero stars I would. No staff to be seen but one bartender. Dirty tables with half eaten food and empty drinks. We were there for a half hour trying to figure out if there was a hostess or it was self seating at one of the dirty tables. Went to the bar to order one of the special holiday drinks. There were about 5 to choose from. After waiting another 5-10 minutes for the bartender to take our order they were out of the 2 drinks we wanted. This was before 8 pm on a Friday. What a waste of a trip. Understaffed and poorly managed. Not sure why they bothered advertising their holiday bar if they were not prepared.

Yelp
3 Stars all day every way. Wasn't phenomenal. I would call it Denny's with a nicer atmosphere. The food was okay. The restaurant wasn't the cleanest, although my table and cutlery were. I had no complaints. The service was the best part of it.

Yelp
Stopped here before an event nearby. As far as I know, this is the only restaurant within walking distance of the area, so luckily it's pretty good! When I walked in, I was super confused because there is no host area and no signs that say to seat yourself. Honestly, I thought it might have been a special event or something because it was so awkward. I wandered around for a while until I found a server, who was super nice and apologized and got me a seat. For Friday happy hour, the place was dominated by professionals, probably from nearby offices. There were also a few hotel guests eating dinner. There are a number of craft beers for $5-6 for happy hour, no local options though that I recall. Cocktails are not an emphasis here. Their menu is standard American fare, including lots of burgers. I ordered the veggie burger and it was one of the best I've had. Classic cheeseburger ingredients with a Beyond patty. It was very flavorful and fresh. The food was tasty and service was good, so I'd be happy to dine here if I worked in this development or were staying at the attached hotel. However, there is nothing unique about the food or atmosphere at Eliza Hot Metal Bistro, so it is unlikely that I'd go out of my way to come here.

Yelp
Got a couple of apps before heading out to a meeting. Pork Belly taco's - really good. Served with pickled onions and radish. Pork belly was perfectly cooked and the onion radish combo really worked. Balsamic reduction sauce was perfect compliment. Pork Pot Stickers - Average, however, the accompanying sauce was really nice with a serious bite. Only complaint was the wait time on the food. Took almost 20 min. for two apps in a largely empty restaurant.

Yelp
Stayed at Hotel Indigo for a business trip and there's not much around immediately, so I decided to eat at the hotel restaurant a few nights. The first night I had the Steak with Sauteed Potato and Mushroom Hash, and Garlicky Broccolini. The sauce was flavorful, decent portion (depends on how hungry you are) I was able to eat it for two meals. I asked for the steak to be well seasoned, but they missed the mark on that. It was tender and came recut. I loved the mushrooms and sauce. Overall great meal I think it could be priced at about $24 instead of the $27. Very nice atmosphere. The bartender was also the server, so it was a delay since it was happy hour. I don't think they anticipated the crowd. My last night I just did an order of the Korean BBQ wings. It's an appetizer and is a little under $9 after taxes. The wings only came 6 to an order, but they were a decent size. They were a little too salty. I was looking for a but more spice, but still had some good flavor. I also indulged in the the brownie sundae with the pretzels, caramel and dulce de leche ice cream. It was a good size and a great combination. It had a really nice whipped cream that tasted homemade and like maybe it had some rum in it lol. Overall good good and nice environment!

Yelp
My first time in Pittsburgh. We booked a 9pm table for dinner as that was an available slot on My Table app. We drove in from 5 hrs out of town to find out they stop serving at 9pm. We had to order pizza. Front desk employee was very apologetic and helpful to guide us but still a big disappointment.

Yelp
Food was mediocre. Roasted Brussel sprouts lived up to the reviews & were good. Salmon dish not worth the price. Very disappointing. Wine was reasonably priced for happy hour & the brand offered. Bartender wasn't the friendliest or the most attentive. Not sure I'd return

Yelp
Very cool happy hour location. The parking for the area was kind of confusing, so I deducted one star. They spent a lot of time salvaging cool mementos from when the area had steel mills so there is a very artsy industrial vibe without being depressing. Because it is a hotel as well, it's good to know their restaurant is also open at 6:30 am if I should want something decent to eat. I went for happy hour on a beautiful afternoon and was able to enjoy the view of the river and the South Side across the way from their awesome rooftop lounge over a few glasses of wine. Highly recommend a hangout on their rooftop on beautiful sunset days.

Yelp
Today is the official opening day of Eliza's Bistro's and I was glad to visit it. The bistro is under different management than the Hotel Indigo which houses it but it carries the same industrial motif and color scheme as the hotel itself. Since this place was built on the former site of a J and L Steel mill the bistro decided to also recreate the authenticity of what once stood here. I was literally blown away by the paintings and the designer who I had met over at the hotel told me that they were planning on putting in a large full wall painting over in the corner. Even the ceiling made you feel like you were in a blast furnace. They also have free WiFi here. I also learned that in the near future they will be having weekend brunch. I had a very friendly and helpful waitress. I sat in a booth away from the bar and high top area so I could take in the surroundings. Outdoor seating is available if you choose. I learned the place was named for a granddaughter of the J and L Steel Mill whose name was Eliza. I also learned that Steel mills used to carry names associated with their blast furnaces. Most everything with the except the salmon is local sourced. The salmon comes from Ohio. I wanted to try the Brussels Sprouts so my waitress substituted that with my fried chicken sandwich as my side. Normally you get a side of French Fries or small salad with dressing. I got my food fairly quickly. The sandwich was topped with coleslaw and had cheese on the bottom. The sandwich was moist and tender. I found the Brussels Sprouts a little on the dry side but my waitress explained to me that they are fire grilled. That made me happy because I love Brussels sprouts and was able to enjoy them better. I'm glad they made that substitution because I wanted to try one of their desserts. Today they were offering standard flavors of Millie's ice cream or homemade cheesecake topped with cherries. I opted for the latter since I'm well acquainted with Millie's and can attest that they have good ice cream. My cheesecake was not overly large which I was glad about but moist and delicious! I can see this place becoming very popular with the locals once word is out. There is a free lot outside the complex before you enter. Next to it stands a pay parking garage. There is no public transportation and I'm not sure if the shuttle I learned about in the hotel would cater to restaurant patrons. Since they are in a hotel they are open every day of the year which makes it a bonus if you would rather eat out during the holidays. Eliza's bistro sits in the Hotel Indigo which is in the middle of Technology Dr that runs parallel to 2nd Ave. The only real drawback I can see is having to deal with rush hour traffic. Other than that it is well worth a visit. Good food at reasonable prices. You can't ask for more.

Yelp
THE best service and the food was great! We will dine here again next time we stay at Hotel Indigo.

Yelp
A Tuesday night. 5 other tables in the house. Waited 10 min to see a wholly uninterested but friendly server who took my order. I was given a watered down iced tea and a lemon in a cup. After ordering a Caesar salad and an appetizer I waited another 15 min. What I got was actually delicious! Despite the blah service, the food was stellar. I had the crispy pork belly tacos and a Caesar salad. Both were really tasty (though there wasn't much crisp in the tacos). I then had a patty melt. A bit undercooked but also delicious. I left feeling full and pleasantly surprised.

Yelp
Just ate here for lunch last week and had the Pittsburgh Salad. It was really good but for $10 I feel like it should include some sort of protein and paying $7-$8 to add it, is just way too much for lunch. I will say the staff was excellent! Please think about having a few lunch specials.

Yelp
This wasn't my first rodeo at Eliza and it won't be the last. Warmly greater by the owner Kristen when I walked in and then served by the sweetest little blond girl. Service was fast and efficient. I had the Gouda mushroom burger which was wonderful. So hot when it came out I had to wait to chow down, just how it like it. The side salad was fresh and crisp. Even with a large wedding party having drinks and food the staff still maintained positive control over the restaurant and customers. Living close by and having a nice addition the local cuisine is great! Will come again soon!

Yelp
Made a reservation for 5 people for this past Sunday for 11:00 am. We had family in from out of town and I thought it would be nice to check out Eliza- as I've been meaning to check it out for a while. We arrived on time for our reservation and were quickly informed that the service would probably take a while, as a large wedding party had arrived and would also be getting served brunch. I am a patient person and we decided to hang out for a bit. 20 minutes went by and no server had come over to see us, we weren't all given menus, and no one had offered us drinks. We watched other tables receive service during this time. I understand they were short-staffed, but it really felt like we just weren't valued at all. I decided to make the decision to leave before we ordered anything, as I figured this would have been a disastrous experience had we stayed. I suggest that the management pay a little more attention in the staffing- it was a holiday weekend, and they should have expected the customer volume to be higher than normal. It was embarrassing to take out-of-towners to a new cool restaurant, just to have to rush to find another place that's not on an insane brunch wait. Luckily, I was able to find a spot in Southside to accommodate us. I hate to give a place a bad review when I haven't even tried their food, but I just was really disappointed that management didn't plan ahead here. Also, you can apparently park in the hotel lot to dine here. I had no idea, as there is no signage that states this. We parked in the garage nearby, meaning I paid $5 to be ignored at brunch and leave without being served. Hmm. So don't make the mistake I did, just go in the hotel lot to park.

Twice tried ordering through grubhub. Twice the order was cancelled. Unable to rate. Look forward to maybe going in person to see what you have.

Yelp
Some good and some bad. Overall, I'd go back, but I wouldn't pick it. The good... - The rooftop area is good on a nice day. They have a shade sail and it's a relaxing space. One walk up window for drinks and a limited food menu up there. - The service overall was good. The rooftop lost my tab, but when I asked if I could just take care of it downstairs with my dinner tab, she said yes. Nice and easy. I reminded the downstairs service at the beginning and end of the meal, but it never appeared on my bill. She finally came around and just said it was on the house. No problem there! - The decor. The industrial theme is well done and the place has a nice feel to it. The eh... - The food. This was the main reason that it got downgraded. The Korean wings were syrupy sweet - way too sweet. Nice spice level, but so sweet. Same with the salad I ordered. It was huge and had a ton of toppings, which I loved; but again, it was very sweet. - The menu. I had looked on Eliza's website and picked out what I wanted to order, but the new menu didn't have either of those things. If you are gonna put it out there, make sure it's right. - Signage. Am I allowed to park in the lot? No idea. Is this unmarked side door what I'm supposed to use for the restaurant? No idea. Rooftop bar? Total guess. Improvement needed there for sure.

Yelp
I came in on Saturday morning before my trip home. The dining room was about 40% full with tables of 3+. There was one visible server and a host. As the steady flow of guest came in, the server looked to be stretched thin. That's when the host sprung into action. He was seating people, taking orders, running food, making coffee drinks for people walking up and all with a smile! His name was Jay and he took care of me while also directing traffic and even giving instruction to the bartender who arrived a little after 10am. He is a star employee and was a pleasure to dine with. As for food, I had the corned beef hash. Poached eggs, corned beef, baked Brussels sprouts and potatoes. The meal was delicious and I would go back!

Yelp
Great food! We got the mushroom gravy biscuits and sausage gravy biscuits and shared the brioche. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive. Parking was the only negative point. Paid parking.

Yelp
Fantastic new restaurant, we really enjoyed our meal. They have a good variety of options, plenty of classics with a twist and then a few unusual dishes. The indigo blue[?] drink was refreshing. I'm not usually keen on sweet cocktails but the tart and sweet were perfectly balanced. You can tell they use high quality components and care was put into the food. They are reasonably priced, with sandwich (which are available during dinner hours too!) and small plate options available. I feel like the portion size and quality matched up with the price. We ate outside, even though it is in the middle of an office park (one with a fair amount of greenspace) the space was still nicer than 80% of Pittsburgh patio options. It was airy, spacious and there wasn't any traffic on account of the weekend. Suggestions: our table top was wobbly which was annoying. Umbrellas to keep out the sun might be a nice addition too. Service was good, everyone was very friendly. Also, this is just an easy restaurant experience. Parking garage nearby, no tricky narrow Pittsburgh streets to navigate, and the tables aren't 6 inches apart. The bike trail, river and bridge are a few hundred feet away, so a post-dinner walk is a option. If you are entertaining relatives that are terrified of the city but you don't want to eat in the burbs/SouthsideWorks chain restaurant megaplex---this could be an good compromise. Overall a great choice and I will be returning, hopefully to try breakfast next.

Yelp
We stayed at Hotel Indigo which is a amazing interesting hotel. It's not plush but I love the raw material and industrial concept. Eliza is such a amazing addition! I had the Pittsburg Salad with French Fries on it. So good! My husband had the fish sandwich and it was also good (I took a bite as well - yeah I'm that girl) - Atmosphere was great and Service was great. Love it!

Yelp
Popped into Eliza on a Saturday mid afternoon just for a snack and beverage. I ordered the Cranberry Cider and pork belly tacos. My boyfriend ordered an iced tea and pretzels. As we were sitting at the bar, we chatted with one of the owners and bartender, who were both very friendly. Our food came out very quickly and was oh so delicious! We will be back and would definitely refer a friend...or several. Side note: although it says this is only breakfast and brunch, they also serve dinner!

Yelp
This review is in regard to their brunch. I had some friends in town and we went here around 12:30 on a Sunday. There was only us and another table. We were greeted right away and were told we could sit anywhere. Our waitress was pleasant, but we were confused if she was our waitress or this other gentleman who started to take care of us as soon as things started to fall apart was our waiter... Anyway... For only having a total of 6 people in the whole restaurant, it took the kitchen almost (or maybe it was...?) 30 minutes to make 4 breakfast sandwiches. Also, we ordered cinnamon-swirl bread and didn't initially receive it because the waitress "completely forgot about it." (Not sure how this happens with only two tables in the whole restaurant...) In addition, I thought the bread (which was technically french toast and I wouldn't have ordered it if I knew it was french toast) was lacking cinnamon and the "vanilla icing" on top was clear with virtually no taste. Vanilla icing should be white, not clear. That was odd and not good. Thankfully our ...waiter?...manager?... comped it. The breakfast sandwiches were not very good. The toast for my sandwich was like toasted and then maybe fried...? Or maybe it was extremely stale bread...either way, it was an extremely odd and hard texture for simple white toast. The home fries were not very good. I typically don't put ketchup on my homefries, but I had to with these ones because they lacked flavor and not all the homefries were consistently cooked properly. We also had to ask for salt and pepper as it was not at the table or brought out with our food. When we got our split checks, the guy waiter (or manager) flip flopped 2 of our checks and he had to go back and void the original transaction. (Once again, I could forgive this, but not with only 6 people in the whole place.) It worries me when this many things can go wrong when a restaurant is virtually empty. I will not return and would advise others to cross the Hot Metal Bridge and find somewhere else in the south side.

Yelp
Enjoyed a great breakfast delivered by a very sweet, attentive and energetic waitress. We ordered 2 Pancakes - huge and buttery with crispy Bacon (4 strips) and 2 Eggs fried with crispy Bacon. Eggs were cooked perfectly. Coffee was hot and frequently refreshed. Our waitress paid attention to every detail of our meal - from Coffee Creamers flavors to amount of ice in our waters. Very enjoyable meal and a great start to our day.

Yelp
*this review is of the cafe/bar, not the seated dining & food As a student at bridgeside point, there aren't many options for food/coffee in this area so I was hoping this would be a good option for those days I need an extra boost of caffeine between classes. However, I went with 3 of my classmates one afternoon and we were greatly disappointed. We all ordered vanilla lattes but there was no consistency between our drinks. The espresso tasted burnt, some drinks had extra milk and that's all you could taste, but one was only filled 1/2 as much as the rest of ours. The worst part about all of this was we ended up paying ~$6 + tip for a 12oz cup of coffee? I'm not sure what the actual size was, but I do know for sure that it was not worth it. I don't think I've ever paid so much money for a mediocre cup of burnt coffee.

Yelp
I'm on the fence with Eliza after having brunch on a Sunday afternoon. The first level of annoyance was the lack of clear signage for parking. It appeared that you needed to be a guest of the hotel to park in their lot so I went to the garage and ended up paying $5 to park there. Then I learn later that half of my party parked in the hotel lot - for free. There was only one other party seated other than our group of five so the service was rather quick. None of ordered a brunch cocktail so it was just coffees and teas, but I did see that someone from the other group had a nice looking Bloody Mary. I ordered the smoked salmon on a bagel with a side salad. The salad was fine but the entree was impossible to eat without looking like a mad Viking. First, you couldn't even cut through the bagel and it was just as hard to bite into. My friend and I both had this option and we each had to deconstruct and pick apart to eat. So that was messy and not fun. But the salmon was good and the egg was seasoned nicely. The prices were reasonable. It just isn't quite a happening place on a Sunday morning/afternoon. This is an odd spot for a hotel but I think as the area around it builds up it will bring in more traffic.

Yelp
First impression was the hostess telling us that we were the last reservation of the night (7PM on Saturday) so feel free to sit wherever we liked. The restaurant was about 15% full so lots of places to choose from. We chose one of the unfortunately awkward booths (long table so if you want to face each other you are far away) because the chairs at the tables looked more trendy than comfy. Nice and quiet. Perused the drinks menu and almost choked at the wine prices - they are literally charging $19 for a glass of a Sauv Blanc that doesn't even cost that much PER BOTTLE at the PLCB store. Server came for our drink orders and then vanished for 20 minutes. Given how empty and quiet the place was, it was a mystery as to why it took so long. Drinks were ridiculous. My gin cocktail was almost certainly a virgin drink (tasted of nothing but citrus and simple syrup) and my husband's bourbon cocktail was one inch of drink (before you removed the giant ice cube). He then ordered a martini figuring that would at least be a real drunk and that arrived as one-third full of a small coupe. All three drinks totaled $50. COME ON. The food was fine, not enough to make up for the rest of the oddness: the lamb meatballs were actually pretty good but they were oddly shaped, some were round and others were just pieces of meatballs: so much for presentation. My husband got the cavatelli and the pesto had broken which led to the pasta sitting in a pool of green oil. I got the Po Boy, which was impossible to eat as served because the clams were chewy and large and would just pull out of the sandwich when bitten into. My husband's plate was cleared, I was about halfway through deconstructing my sandwich so I could eat the clams, and our server came over and asked if we were ready for our check. Um, what? Not asking if we wanted coffee or dessert was really odd to us, but by that point we were one of only three parties remaining in the restaurant (it was 8:30) and we thought maybe she really just wanted to leave. We went somewhere else for drinks after. We will not be back.

Yelp
This is a nice place to eat. Clean and nice staff. I usually order lunch as I work next door. Had an awesome Salmon Cesar Salad. Turkey and Swiss was surprisingly a really solid lunch. Eating in takes a little longer than you would like for lunch, seems a little under staffed because of the wait between ordering and paying the bill. But you can order pickup if your in rush for lunch. The prices are ok, but they have a 9$ lunch special, that is worth it. However, one time I received undercooked salmon filet but I ate it as I felt bad if I were to return it.

Yelp
Excellent brunch! I haven't been there for dinner yet, but it seems to be underrated (maybe because of location). Worth a short drive or walk!

Yelp
Just had a fantastic breakfast here this morning with my Valentine daughter, Veronica! Everything was outstanding. I love the modern but nod to the steel mills decor! Best omelette I have ever had. The bacon was thick and cooked perfectly. Coffee was fantastic! V had the yogurt and granola bowl and she loved it. Our server April was top notch! She was friendly and very quick with any request we made. The owner brought out our food and she was extremely friendly and nice! I can not wait to go back and try their lunches and dinners! Definitely check this place out! You will not regret it!

Yelp
Great for quick meal while staying at the Hotel Indigo. Had the Cajun Chicken Sandwich with fries and it was very tasty. Definitely worth going to if you're at the hotel.

Yelp
This place was amazing for Thanksgiving. Great food, great service, the Brussels sprouts rocked my world. The bn squash soup was great. Delicious homemade whipped cream. Omg. I would totally eat here any day of the week and twice on Sunday. And the manager and wait staff were beyond. I'm a fat guy and I recommend this restaurant wholeheartedly.

Yelp
We heard that his restaurant had opened even though the hotel (Hotel Indigo) wasn't open yet. We decided to give it a try. BEST. DECISION. EVER. The restaurant was empty when we went in at lunch time but then more diners came in after us. The restaurant is gorgeous. It's very contemporary, industrial, and now. We were greeted with the door to the restaurant being opened for us. We were quickly seated. The decor is a mix of blues, oranges, browns, and industrial materials. The art on the walls is all about the Burgh but from a very different perspective. There is a very nice outdoor seating area. There is a big community table near the bar. The lighting is a mix of contemporary (the bar lights) and the lights over the community table are industrial. The colors and the look of the restaurant pull you in. We were given menus and there was a nice selection to choose from. I went with the Scottish Salmon. The hubby went with the Club sandwich. We decided to start with Brussel Sprouts as a starter. I'm not a huge brussel sprout fan but these were roasted and topped with a little shaved Parmesan cheese. There is a lemon aioli served beside it and it was a wonderful companion to the sprouts. The portion is huge so you might want to share with two to four people. The club sandwich was also very large. It had huge slices of fresh tomato and fresh avocado. The bacon on the sandwich has a rich smoky flavor that adds to the taste. It also had an Amish white cheddar that played nicely into the bite. You have a choice of fresh cut fries or a side salad to go with the sandwich. You also have the choice of doing half a sandwich and a cup of soup. I had the salmon and I really didn't want to share. It is a nice cut of salmon that is placed on top of asparagus, mushrooms, and Carolina Gold rice. The salmon was cooked perfectly as was the asparagus. Asparagus is my favorite vegetable and some places just can't get it right. Here-they nailed it. It was the Carolina Gold rice that sealed the 5 star deal. I don't know what it is made with but oh my goodness, it is like liquid gold. I could have eaten just a plate of that although you might die from the richness. Not wanting to stop the party, I ordered Blueberry Creme Brûlée. It was the perfect ending to the meal. My husband is not a Brûlée fan but he enjoyed it. The blueberries were fresh and whole. They were just a blend swirled in. Of course we all know that the way to know Brûlée is on pointe is if you hear the cracking sound when you put your spoon through it. The cracking was loud and proud. Our server, Lana, gave us VIP service. Toward the end of our meal a very nice woman named Liz came to our table and chatted with us. We asked if we could see the lobby of the hotel. She told us that the hotel was actually open. She asked if we would like a tour of the hotel. YES!!! So the bartender, Jess, took us on a tour once we were done eating. I found out later that Liz is one of the owners. This was one of the best dining experiences I have had. The restaurant is in the middle of a technology park and part of a hotel and that may make some people think they want to pass because sometimes hotel restaurants aren't that great. No matter where you live in the city, you need to go and check out this restaurant. It is easy to get to and you will be glad you did.

Yelp
Holy hell... just brutally bad. I'm actually still here. We have been done with our meal for a good 15 minutes and are one of 3 tables here and haven't seen the waitress. Just walked in on the cook taking dick-pics in the bathroom... seriously... this is brutally bad

Yelp
The Pittsburgh salad is amazing. Best I've ever had. I don't know how they grill the chicken and keep it so juicy. However, service is extremely slow even when the restaurant is not crowded and prices are way too high. I had the Pittsburgh salad w/chicken and a cup of soup and my bill including a modest tip was nearly $30! The chicken alone costs $7 to add. Although delicious, it is too expensive.
