Everything is a 10 out of 10. The food made me feel like I was at my grandma's house having a family dinner, safe and happy. The music had my feet tapping as a sing along. The staff were all polite and easy to talk to. Perfect lighting as well. I order the Liver and onions, with Arnold Palmer to drink. My sides were mac n cheese, collard greens and yams. It came with a corn bread muffin. Everything was delicious, I will definitely be going back.

Tx here. Looking for good soul food currently. When I touch down and saw them online knew I was going. Hit the Lyft and the driver was like yeah! Got there, I already knew what I wanted cause I studied lol. Very chill, nice soft culture music, staff very welcoming and polite. Mixed crowd, elder and young, seems like a well established mom and pop shop but idk. I got there meat loaf, Yams, mac&cheese dressing of course, cornbread given. You get 3 side with your entre, portions are good size. Nothing was salty! Everything had taste! I wanted the tomato sauce with the meat loaf but they was out so I got the gravy, was still good. Yams was a good sweet so I didn’t order desert but like I said they was a good sweet. Dressing was right but no giblet gravy. It was okay cause I used gravy. Dressing had that shuttle sweetness it’s supposed too! My hb had the fried chicken, I didn’t taste it but when it came it was fresh out the grease, I could still hear it cookin on the plate. My go to spot in Vegas now. Vegas always showing me love! Next time I will get the greens! This is a jem, I will support everytime I come. Good lookin out and bless. ~firesidekitchenandbardallastx

My family has visited this restaurant several times, and it has never disappointed us. The food is always great. Today, I ordered the smothered pork chops with greens, potato salad, and yams, and everything was excellent. My sister ordered the fried chicken, and that was excellent. We'll be back soon for more delicious soul food.

Local business. Tender, tasty oxtails. The dressing is the best I had at a restaurant in years!! Good customer service. Good portions. Wonderful and tasty food. Reasonably priced based on portion and service. A round of applause for the efficiency of the staff to keep all customer flows moving...take out and dine in was was steady.

I was a little disappointed. 😞 The pork chops were fried a little too long. It was hard to chew even after letting them soak in the gravy. The cornbread muffin was really hard, not even warm. The Mac n cheese and cabbage were...ok. I might give it a second chance.

I ordered the turkey wing meal🍗, and it was hella good! 🔥. It was a substantial size. I wanted to try their desserts, but I was too full. I will definitely be back! And I will try the oxtails next. The turkey wings were $25.99. The rice and gravy were also good 👍. I didn't care too much for the Kool-Aid drink. It was too sweet. I will definitely be back. I like how the restaurant pays tribute to their grandmother, who passed away.

The customer service was amazing, i genuinely felt like a famous person or secret shopper, everyone was super nice its refreshing. I had the liver and onions it was good and tender, it comes with mashed red potatoes and gravey, you can get it with out. My husband had the fried pork chops, he said they where well cooked not to hard, seasoned very well. We will be back to try different items definitely. I mostly reviewed this place because the customer service was so good, thank you ladies

This is not my first time here. But today the food was extremely salty, I could not eat the greens they were so salty, the mac n cheese was the day before b/c it was very dry and noodles were hard. Fish was too much salt as well

Great food and friendly staff! Would def recommend! Had the Red Snapper and it was fried to perfection and seasoned well! Also had the dressing, potato salad and red beans and rice! The sides were fantastic and the dressing was great without gravy!

I had this for my birthday. The meatloaf was taste like onion powder. It was moist. The other food was OK. Very lightly seasoned. Chicken is a NO. Pretty color not much flavor. Only would eat here in a soul food emergency.

Holy wowzers. It starts off with everyone calling you by name which makes me feel like I'm a local in a small town. The food: so good. Run your fork across the cornmeal fry on the catfish crackle. The catfish was flakey and had the right fresh water taste. Cornbread that made me almost eat it all (Just one bite you diabetic). The greens were happy dance good with a little acidity and I hint of nutmeg (clove? anise? I dunno, I don't cook). The fried cabbage was gone first. Usually places make it too oily, but this was perfection. DAAAAMN this Mac n Cheese! Only a bite. Just one bite. You can do it. Nope, lots of bites. Just get it already! Price as a little higher than I expected BUT worth it completely. The final verdict: I would come back ABs recommend it to others!

did a phone order. not only was it delivered @ towneplace suites, it was still hot nd delious.i got fried catfish, rice nd beans mac&cheese. my boo go same with different sides. greens nd yams were his choice. the bff ordered catfish as well. those yams!!!!!!! i don't even like yams. but ella em you made a fan of yams for me. thnx. wishing you much success

Food, service, and ambience are great thus the 5 stars. I had a takeout order of a meatloaf entree and various sides -greens, mac n cheese, black eyed peas, dressing, salad, and mashed potatoes. Everything was on point. Simply delicious! No complaints about any of the listed items. Ambiance and customer service were great! Food was ready for pickup and attention to details is definitely given. The young lady that packed my order mentioned the leave out items I requested for my salad were not part of their salad. So now I know for future orders. I'm eager to return to try more of their menu.

I had a delivery less than an hour ago and the food was so good I almost cried. Knew I had to leave a review. Cornbread dressing was the best!! Can't wait to eat my lemon pound cake after the club tonight.

I had fried chicken, yams, collards and Mac and cheese. This was some of the best food I've had in a while. That's in California and Never. It was hot. And not over seasoned. The employees were very friendly and attentive.

I'm grateful for EllaEms consistency! Delicious food, decent service and servers that smile and good company. Sadly, these aren't norms everywhere so I'm happy to continue supporting this restaurant and know I can count on a filling meal and feel like a valued customer. Thank you for offering a Military Veterans discount too! So happy yall are still around!

EllaEm's Soul Food is a small soul food restaurant located in North Las Vegas. This restaurant won a Best of Las Vegas Award by Las Vegas Review Journal. The people working there were all extra friendly and very nice. We were greeted right away and were told we could sit wherever we wanted. The entrees come with a corn muffin so they started us off with a warm corn muffin. The corn muffin was very good and was moist and a little sweet and came with butter. In reasonable time the entrees came out. I got the grilled red snapper. It was slightly fishy today. The mixed vegetables seemed like from frozen and were very plain and laced with water. The sweet potatoes were far more sweet than what most people can handle. The mac 'n' cheese probably was good when it was fresh made but we got it when it seemed very leftover. The country fried steak was a little dried out today.

Good food. The wings, cornbread and red beans were my favorites. Small restaurant so you may have to wait. Staff was a0ttentive.

We are so happy that this restaurant has reopened after it was closed for some plumbing repairs. We have been back twice this week. Their home cooked food is delicious and served in big portions. They also provide very attentive service. Their entrees come with cornbread muffins and three sides. I usually get the meatloaf with red sauce, but you can also get it with brown gravy. They have good macaroni and cheese as well as red beans and rice. The drink of choice is definitely their tropical punch Kool-Aid. Great restaurant.

Good food and service. The chicken and catfish were seasoned well and cooked to perfection. We enjoyed all the sides: greens, yams and okra.

Loved the greens, cabbage, cornbread, fried catfish and their tartar sauce. Speaking of which... when you order your food to go, they will NOT give you condiments unless you request them. Luckily I realized I didn't have any before I drove off. When I went inside and asked for some, I was informed of their policy. And they had no problem accommodating. I'm big on condiments and firmly feel that they complete the meal. Depending on what I'm eating I need my hot sauce, soy sauce. Yum Yum sauce, ranch, A1 sauce, mustard, catch up Bama sauce and in this case tartar sauce. But back to the matter at hand. The, macaroni & cheese and red beans and rice were good. However, the chicken tenders that I ordered were just OK at best. The restaurant is a bit compacted and was VERY busy. So we waited in the car til our food was ready. Wait time was roughly 30 minutes. But sometimes that's the price you pay for good food prepared properly. My only real bit of constructive criticism is that EllaEm's should strongly consider turning on the air conditioner inside of the restaurant. Because the fan that they were using is inadequate when it comes to cooling down the establishment. Because let's face it... a well fed, well cooled down (comfortable) customer is a returning customer.

We went out looking for some good sou food, and we definately got it here! The decor is what would would expect at a good soul food place-lots if pitcures in the walls. There were a few pics and tributes to "granny". The music was a very good mix of 80's music. Our server was very attentive making sure we had plenary of drinks and everything we need. I got the fried pork chops with cabbage, dressing, and Mac and cheese. Everything was tasty and well seasoned. The portions are HUGE! Oh, and did I mention they habe KOOL-AID??? Definately coming back here to try the fried chicken!!

"I was looking for a delectable soul food restaurant, and Google led me to Ella Em. It's an incredibly delicious Black-owned establishment. I indulged in everything homemade stuffing, fried red snapper, baked Mac n cheese, smothered pork chop, fried shrimp, fried cabbage, corn muffin, lemonade and peach cobbler. This place is a gem! As a fellow restaurant owner, I am thoroughly impressed. Trust me, they're fantastic!" Oh and the staff Abril & Tunie are amazing!

I can not say enough great things about the food and the amazing service we received from Ella Em's for our pickup order!!! We had friends and family in town who requested that we order some GOOD soul food for the gathering at our home in Summerlin. Ella Em's did NOT disappoint at all!!!! Nicole is who I spoke with on three separate occasions to ensure everything went off without a hitch! Can I just say Nicole provided OUTSTANDING customer service!!!! Kudos to Nicole, you ROCK!!!! She was very polite, professional, PATIENT, and so much more! I would have thought she was part owner or THE owner with the way she took care of us! Our ENTIRE pickup order was PERFECT, nothing was missing or forgotten! Nicole even opened each order and showed us each item to verify everything we ordered was there . Thank you thank you thank you Nicole! You are a definite gem at Ella Em's! Now for the food...DELICIOUS!!! Everyone enjoyed everything!!! No complains whatsoever! We ordered Pork chops, ribs, fried chicken, fish, chicken strips for the kids, collard greens, yams, Mac n cheese, cabbage, cornbread muffins, house salads, dressing, banana pudding, peach cobbler! Whewwww, my mouth is watering as I type this because I am remembering just how delicious EVERYTHING was! Lol Thank you Ella Em's and staff for the delicious food and service! I first tasted EllaEms a few years ago when LoLo's moved from Rainbow, and they opened. I remember the food was really good. Recently, my fiance' ordered me the Catfish Dinner, collard greens, beans, and rice and specified NO ONIONS. Upon delivery to our home, there was LIVER AND ONIONS!! We complained to the delivery service to no avail. The store put the wrong ticket on our order. I decided to give ElaEms one more shot last week. FINALLY, delivered Catfish as ordered. The food was great, greens had a little too much pepper/hotness to it, but with the beans and rice, it was great.

Our food was good! My husband had the catfish and it was seasoned to perfection! The mac and cheese was delicious. We normally don't eat this side dish out. Most places get it wrong. This Place did a great job with their mac and cheese. The collard greens with turkey were okay not special. My yams were good and the oxtails without gravy were bland but super tender. I requested my oxtails with gravy on the side because I was unsure. The waitress forgot the gravy and I didn't ask about it because it was so busy. Just be prepared for a place that you order, get food and the check, done. No checking with you asking if you need anything additional. We were fine with that but some people need more attention. Which is not a bad thing just be patient. The portions are a very good size. We definitely could not eat it all.

I ordered the fried chicken with Mac, yams, red beans and rice. The Mac was surprisingly good, as the yams. However, my chicken breast were dry and overcooked. The red beans and rice was bland. The cornbread was also dry and taste like they used water to make it instead of butter or buttermilk. I may give this spot one more chance . The service wasn't anything to rave about since I had a to go order and they do have a dine in option but I opted to eat my food at home.

You can't go wrong with anything you pick...They give you plenty of portions. The service was remarkable the staff was attentive, responsive, and we did not wait very long for food at all. The wait staff can answer almost any questions the knew the menu well. They have a very small dining area however, it was very clean and well lit.

A 3 piece fried chicken diner took 55 minutes. The chicken legs were very small and it had no taste of being seasoned. No soul in this food, the okra and store bought potato salad was good. No repeat business from me.

I ordered delivery and the food seemed pretty good. The red beans and rice were tasty and country fried steak and mash n gravy were delicious. However I forgot to ask them not to add any extra salt bc I have a low tolerance for salt and then well...

EllaEm's Soul Food makes a real good country fried steak, a tender cutlet covered in homemade gravy that's been flattened, coated, then pan-fried. Collard greens, mac & cheese, and potato salad were my side choices, all excellent. This is not a shortcut taking kitchen that serves some Kraft-looking mac & cheese out of a box...they use bread crumbs for texture and real cheese. Collard greens are one of the most nutritious vegetables around and these were smooth tasting as well. Returned another day to try their fried chicken, fried okra, and fried cabbage. Fried cabbage? Cabbage exists for two reasons - either shredded into cole slaw or else to turn limp inside a pot of water next to a shank of corned beef. But EllaEm's adds turkey bacon and peppers to the cabbage pieces, throws them on the grill to fry, and suddenly it becomes a unique and tasty side dish. The fried chicken was good too with a simple flavor, minus any heat. These were big pieces that might have come from a plus-sized hen with thighs like tree stumps beneath her size 18 dress. I recommend getting it smothered in gravy, which adds to the flavor and makes it moist. This place is clean, small and narrow with just a handful of tables. For to-go orders, they conveniently provide chairs outside to hang out on while waiting for their text. It'll take a good 10-15 minutes, as the food is freshly cooked. The pleasant cashier (P.K.) greets everyone and remembers names as well. This restaurant can be an ideal spot to pick up some food that reminds me of my straw-chewing, suspender-wearing upbringing in Missouri's Ozarks. EllaEm's is located at 755 W. Craig Rd. & Revere St., across the street from Craig Ranch Regional Park. Try it!

Best Soul Food in Vegas!! Whenever I come out here from the Bay Area this is always first on my list!! If you never had it I recommend you come try it you will not be disappointed!

Sorry to say this but, if you no how to cook, this place may not be for you and if you do try it DONT DO TAKE OUT, BECAUSE IT'S HIT AND MISS (MOSTLY MISS). If don't know how to cook you might like it. Just about everything is priced to high (but I guess that' everywhere you go now) You get decent portions but that doesn't matter if it doesn't taste good. fyi, gravy is not that hard to make, they should try making it from scratch, and please throw the old corn bread muffins away, don't serve them the next day or the day after that.... otherwise they are dry and hard... I am posting this for a friend because, I told them not to go unless they dined in and I told them what not to order, they didn't and got take out and spent well over $60 and they are on a budget like most so they were really upset.

This last experience was a bit different because there seems to be new ownership. I couldn't tell until we ate the food. It had the same recipes but there was a different taste in some of the favorites. The service is til nice and helpful . The place is still clean and well kept. You should just be aware that there will be a few differences. We enjoyed ourselves overall.

This is by far the best soul food I've tasted in Vegas. The catfish is my go to and it's so crispy and seasoned so well. All the sides are so so good as well. Definitely try this place if you're looking for some good food.

Hey Everyone, When in Las Vegas and looking for some of y'all Mama and Grandma's southern comfort soul food (the real stuff) EllaEm's Soul Food is a must try! Our waiter Allen was friendly and attentive and helpful and had a great customer service appeal!!! All of the food on the menu looked so delicious My brother lives here and told me it's must try and he was absolutely right! The Beef Ox Tails are so tender and delicious. The southern fried Catfish was yummy cooked too perfection alone with Candied Yams Mac & Cheese, Ted Beans and Rice. Plus a order of Cajun Grilled Shrimp over delicious Grits and a order of the Fried Chicken and Waffles and scrambled eggs plus sweet southern Ice Tea. We walked out stuffed happy and satisfied Thank you Allen and I will surely spread the word about your establishment and the great food and southern hospitality you have thanks

On today Saturday April 8th we happened upon this suggestion popped up and we weren't disappointed Small dining area but service was great and there were lots of pick up orders so to say the least this place was quite popular we enjoyed the food very much and service with a smile Will definitely be back prices weren't bad either

so heart broken the food is so disgusting now!! do not waste your money! The meatloaf was watery. It had NO taste. The mac & cheese was literally hard it looked like it sat out for days. Wasnt able to eat nothing we purchased We spent $80. the only thing that was eatable was the cornbread . & it was dry . Fried Okra, homemade corn bread, oxtails smothered in gravy with a side of Mac n cheese plus German Chocolate Cake for dessert...this gal was in absolute heaven!! Good southern food that made me feel like I was sitting at my granny's house that's from Texas...I mean I came in cuz I saw fried chicken and okra but when the waitress said their specialty was oxtail I WAS IN andd it was TO DIE FOR!! I wish I could have this every night or one up in Northern Nevada ~ EllaEm's Soul Food is the real deal, great service and will definitely recommend and visit next time I am in town.

Food Customer service Ambiance This is my second time visiting EllaEm's and words can't express the warm hospitality and the great warm meals, cooked with love. You have to stop by and give it a try. Great for individual dining or large family dining. Special occasions, they got you covered too.

Service, the server dropped a small container on the floor that I had requested some vinegar but instead of throwing away, she went ahead and used. I told the person that I was picking up for and of coming they didn't use.

The fish was ok not salty seasoned well . The side was a different story. The red beans was chili beans and rice, mac and cheese no taste and greens with cabbage was burnt. From the south and very disappointed in the sides!

I had the red snapper with mac & cheese, yams, and dressing. Everything was amazing. I ate until I was stuffed. Service was amazing. love supporting a local black business in Vegas.

Ordered the Baked Chicken Lunch $17.99 it was good i will return my sides were rive and gravy and Dressing and i ordered a side of black eyed peas It could of been served Hotter but it wqs good

Food is very Savory, I Love it! Service is pretty consistent, very Small but it feels like home and very welcoming. When I think of Soul Food this is the Place I think of in Las Vegas

My first visit here. From the time I opened the door, was greeted by Allen. A great waiter who explained options before I asked. Very refreshing! We opted for oxtails and fried chicken to share. Allen made recommendations that saved money.. The oxtails were very tender. Loved the chicken fried crispy, the sides were collards, cabbage, and mac & cheese. All seasoned well. Cabbage cooked too long for my taste. The place is small, but it can seat for over five tables and the wait was not over 15 minutes during the time I was there. It looked very clean.

Baybeeee.....EllaEm's did not disappoint! Everything was delicious. I don't even like black eyed peas but I tried them today going into the new year, and ended up getting some to go. The black eyed pea juice was drinkable!!! The service was phenomenal. Shout out to my waitress Nicole. She has the patience of Job because the lady next to me would have made a nun slap her with her tone and indecisiveness and Nicole handled it like a pro! I will definitely be back.

These people could care less about you. Waited more then an hour. Blamed it on door dash called to confirm, treated me like a dick said my issue was withdoordash. Excuse me, I BOUGHT YOUR FUCKING FOOD. Do not deal with these people.

Stopped by here for a late breakfast around noon on a Sunday. It was pretty busy but we made it right before the crowds started pouring in. They make their food to order so be prepared to wait a bit for everything. Our waiter was very nice. He seemed to be the only one waiting tables so he was very busy but did his best to check in every now and then. The inside isn't that big so it does get packed pretty quickly, especially when there are large groups. They have good music playing in the back to keep you occupied while you wait. I love that this is a locally owned spot. The food itself was pretty good. I'm a southern bell so my standards on soul food is pretty high. I had the chicken and waffles which were really good. The waffle was fluffy and buttery and the chicken wings were a nice size and seasoned with the perfect crispiness. Definitely enjoyed my meal and left satisfied. My girlfriend tried the dressing, collard greens, and macaroni. Of course I tried her food. The dressing was amazing! Took me back to thanksgiving at my grandmas house. The macaroni was equally amazing just how I like my macaroni. The collard greens were a bit salty to me. I have a low salt tolerance though so it might be just perfect for someone else. I highly recommend stopping by and showing support if you are in the mood for some soul food. They do offer takeout if you don't want to wait.

Been here a few times before, but decided to take my hubby for the 1st time. The service, Allen was very kind & knowledgeable of the menu. Best service, & delicious food. Hubby had the oxtail dinner. I've had the chicken & waffles, red snapper lunch, & smothered pork chops with Mac & cheese.

Excellent soul food spot in North Vegas...I look forward to coming back in September with for my family Bday event .
