How a Burnt-Out Lawyer Built NYC’s Biggest International Night Market | Eater NY

"Run by Akera Phillip, who draws on family technique for Grenadian dishes, the stall emphasizes generational spice knowledge: “Grenadian food, especially the way my grandmother makes it,” Akera Phillip explains, “is all about the spices, and I don’t mean spicy. I mean the combination of nutmeg, cinnamon, and how she uses it, and now I do, too.” That quotation captures the stall’s focus on specific spice combinations and the transmission of a grandmother’s methods into a public, street-food format." - John Tsung

Next to the Paramount Theatre this place is so convenient and has a great vibe. I would only stick to the pizza and cocktails here nothing else. I should have sent back my food just from the looks of my pics. It doesn’t even look like salmon . Maybe the cook/ chef took the day off and had a fill in but everything we had was completely overcooked- it all looked and tasted burned like everything was cooked in the same receptacle including the salmon and steak- the calamari was doused in grease and burned- the risotto was like soggy salty mexican rice I couldn’t take more than two bites. You cannot go wrong with the pizza which looked delicious, fresh and appetizing - u won’t feel like you overpaid for very bad food. Side bar The bread with honey butter, gelato and cocktails were a great save - all very good.

Excellent food (great flavors) and nice service! My husband and I went in for a little date night dinner and are really glad we decided to finally check out Ella’s. Service: Very friendly and attentive staff. My husband and I were wearing masks as we entered the restaurant. We were guided to a nice table that was a good distance from other guests. We really appreciate them seating us in the least crowded area without us having to say anything! Food: All delicious! I highly recommend trying the nduja, bread, and butter appetizer. The nduja has a nice kick to it but is not overly spicy, nor does the spiciness linger. They brought out A LOT of nduja and butter relative to the bread, so we ended up taking the remainder to go. The fresh pasta was good and the tomato sauce for the parpardelle had a really rich flavor.

Great location next to paramount, offering a discount if you have tickets. The food was great and the mix of cheese and olives in the beginning was great. The duck dish was great and flavorful. The service was ok but not too good.

ella’s has always been good but now they have a new chef and our dinner this evening was so delicious!! the menu has changed a bit, the eggplant parm app was so good! everything was so good!!! arancini was with lemon ricotta. pesto chicken pizza, insane good. kale cesar, always great! the special was a risotto shrimp and we licked our plates(all the plates matter of fact). can’t wait to go back for more!

Google
Good place to have dinner before a show next door at Paramount. We have been coming to Ella's for several years, and have not been disappointed with their food. We enjoy their calamari, homemade meatballs, and their salads. Their pizzas are also very good, and great to share with others. All in all, a good place to go and a bonus is they take reservations, which is great when the village gets busy. The kitchen can be a bit slow, so would recommend you let your server know you are there before a show.

Ella’s Taverna is located directly next door to the Paramount Theatre, and that is about all that is good with it. The picture in this review is of “Lasagna Pinwheels”, a $28 entrée that should really be a $5 appetizer, and a poor one at that. These “pinwheels” are tiny, cut up pieces of a lasagna noodle, rolled up with plain old ricotta and have some vodka sauce on top. In the picture you can see the water in the ricotta and the sauce has drained out into the bowl so these tiny rolls of noodles are now swimming in a broth reminiscent of what you would serve mussels in. Yes it’s that disgusting. These bite-sized noodles are what you would make for a fun event with your 8-year-old on a snow day when school got cancelled, but from a (pricey!) restaurant it’s just an indicator of poor menu design and execution. This is something I would expect to get out of a can of Chef Boy R Dee. Because of the hard paneling and ceiling and the “bowling alley” shape of the dining area the restaurant gets extremely noisy when it fills up. Even sitting directly across from someone you need to speak loudly, and of course this just accentuates the problem. Some sound absorbing materials would be a nice addition. The red wine had a light pour and came in a (ugh!) tumbler glass – yes those short little glasses that are for water, not wine, and certainly not acceptable when charging $10/glass. This just added more insult to injury. If you’re looking for a restaurant and reading these reviews you know there are a lot of dining choices up and down this road – so definitely take a hard pass on Ella’s. If you are forced to come here with someone else – stick with a simple pizza and plan on drinks and dessert anywhere else down the road.

Google
Easy to see right off of New York Avenue servicing Huntington and the adjoining areas of Suffolk County. Clean facilities. Reasonably priced. Credit cards accepted. Public Restrooms. Nice staff especially our Server. Brunch menu on Sunday is available. We will definitely be going back.

Yelp
What looks like a small space when you walk in, has so much space! It's a little dark and loud in here, but it's Huntington, so you've got to expect their restaurants mimic the awesome night life. Upon being seated we were asked for our drink orders. I instinctively ordered a cosmopolitan. It was delicious!! We ordered Nonna's meatballs and the zucchini zeppole. The meatballs were out of this world and tasted just like my dad's homemade. The recipe has got to be a family secret. The zucchini zeppole were mid at best. Not heavy on flavor and all around not worth it. The main event was the pizza. We got the dark side of the moon pizza. It was absolutely insane. The smoked duck paired so well with the caramelized onions. Not your average slice and it was impressive. This place is awesome and close to the paramount. I would totally come here again for dinner or before seeing a show!

Yelp
Food and ambiance were top notch, and service was excellent! Had a reservation for 6:30 and were seated right away. A waiter came to see us quickly and took our drink orders. Got our drinks quickly and ordered our food. Everything was timely and it made the experience pleasant. We had the baby kale caesar with steak which was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Got the Seventy times 7 pizza which was so so good. Crust was perfect, sauce was perfect, burrata was amazing. Can't wait to come back and try more.

Yelp
I just ordered in the pasta carbonara and it had to be the worst pasta dish I have EVER had. $19.95 for the food in the video attached. It's disgraceful. I would be embarrassed as a restaurant to send this to a customer. Not even 1/2 a bowl of pasta sent by grub hub delivery total with fees $35.00. I have their pizzas all the time and they are delicious and I have no problem with them at all. But this is embarrassing and so disappointing This must've cost $5 to make. Watery and tasteless

Yelp
This is based off one experience... We made a reservation on open table and when we got there they said they didn't have a tables available. They were having a party in the back. We ended up sitting in the bar area which worked out fine. Sitting our child in a high chair that didn't reach the table was fabulous haha. There were a couple other hiccups with our waiter (appetizer not coming out, thought a salad came with my meal but it didn't, didn't provide us with the brunch menu...maybe a few other things lol). But once again, there was a party going on and apparently they had new software??? But generally the service was good...the bartender was great -gave us a cup filled with oranges for our toddler, they worked as a team to keep our drinks filled and the food came out fast. The food was really tasty. The brunch pizza was good, my steak was very flavorful (at first I was mad because I thought it wasn't cooked medium as I asked but it was just an end piece I picked up first), the salsa verde was really good with a hint of spice, the eggs were fluffy, the meatballs were also very good (also a little spicy but even my toddler liked them). The mimosas and aperol spritz with brunch were good also. Didn't try any cocktails but they looked good as well. I would Ella's again!

Yelp
Restaurant right on main drag near The Paramount on NY Ave. Interesting and creative menu. Many vegetarian options. Food was delicious, however my only complaint is that the portions are small for the price. I hadn't realized that it was tapas. Or as they say, "more money for smaller portions". That said, each of our dishes were excellent! Also annoying is having to pay for bread, which we did. Nothing extraordinary , essentially 2 slices of toasted bread for $5. Service was very good. Parking is on the street or in municipal lot a block away.one room is a bar with high top tables. Adjacent room has regular tables and nice environment .

Yelp
The first time I ate here in 2023, I really enjoyed it and remember specifically the pizza being surprisingly good for the modern-age Italian spot it was. Less than two years later, I had a completely different experience; it took a realllly long time to get drinks, waiter didn't write down any of our order and then 2 items came out wrong, and the pizza was so thin and overcooked with barely any cheese or sauce. But worst part was the NY Strip that I ordered which was so fatty and tough all the way through that I had to send it back. Instead of comping it or offering something else, they gave me another full NY Strip entree to go. It was the same :(

Yelp
I went to Ella's last week, and the menu had been cut to one small page. This is because they are changing their whole menu. I assume this is because of the change in ownership for the whole Paramount complex, which was bought by LiveNation. I'm going to withhold final judgement until I experience the new menu. My wife and I are regular patrons of Ella's, because they used to serve the best gluten-free pizza in Long Island. But last week, although they still had GF pizza crust, they had removed their dairy free and vegetarian pizza options. We just left. Customers who have allergies will understand my disappointment. To be continued!

Yelp
Really enjoyed this place! The food was slightly pricy, but in my opinion fairly priced for what you get. The menu was on the small side, which I enjoyed. I believe it was a new seasonal menu. The food was delicious and the servings were perfectly sized. The inside is upscale and comfortable. Only qualm was the service was a bit slow to receive our food despite the restaurant being rather empty. Staff are polite and attentive. Would definitely come back!

Yelp
Stopped in for some cocktails and small bites. Everything was great! I loved the cocktails. The bartender was super friendly. The food was so good. We sat at the bar and saw everyone else's food that they ordered and everything looked and smelled great. We definitely want to go back to try a full dinner there!

Yelp
First to say oyr waitress had zero personality i mean none , im a waitress and my tips ate my biggest pay i greet smile and always asking do you need anything. Then theres a bar that has wings , sliders , pretzels but you couldn't have in restaurant thats dumb on them because more money would of been spent , portions are soooooo small and expensive we will never be back ever , then while theres a singer at the bar they have over head music playing not good , most of all was the waitress with no personality, and the place was empty

Yelp
Possibly unpopular opinion (given all the 4 and 5 star reviews), but there is a real discrepancy/inconsistency with menu item prices at Ella's, hence the three stars. I'll start with the good/great - pizzas were spot on as was the chicken parm (which comes out plated and sliced like a pizza, except the chicken is the crust!). There are a lot of options to choose from and the combinations were an artisanal cut above your standard pizza joint. I'd have liked to see a buffalo or BBQ chicken personally but am not going to ding them for that as there were at least 10 varieties. There's an awesome woodsy smell that'll whisk you right into that ski lodge vibe, serving also as a reminder that all the pizzas (and some other menu options) are tastefully wood-fired. Bonus points for a creative selection of cocktails and a visual "rubric" so you get quick notes on each drink (e.g. main liquor, boozy, sweet, etc). Location can't be beat either, especially if you're catching a show at the Paramount, which is literally next door! My main critique is that portion to price ratio is way out of whack for some items. Particularly, the pinwheel lasagna (6 measly bites for $30) and the wings (6 segments - not full wings - for $17). Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable in suggesting things for us to try, but after it all, your best bang for the buck is definitely with their awesome pizzas - stick to those.

Yelp
Not a fan ... stopped in late Saturday night, 10:30 pm and got the feeling when we were ordering that they were closing soon, which they said they were not, but it was a bit odd. Terrible music... just bad 90's music, made us want to leave. Had one of the pizza's, something like 23 dollars, too much. Our fault, should have had a slice across the street at one of the dive pizza places... this pie was a simple pepperoni with hot honey and with tip came to 5 bucks a bitty slice. Perhaps the younger folks enjoy it here, not for us.

Yelp
Recently went there and the food was not as good, I believe the original chef left for some reason but since then the food is slowly going down hill.

Yelp
Chicken parm looks huge. Flattened thin, it was dry and overcooked. Lots of pasta. Mediocre sauce. Lasagna same.

Yelp
The management and staff are amazing, the food is great! Manny, Anna and Lizzie are fantastic behind the bar! James the manager is amazing, we love it there!

Yelp
A punch in the gut. Went there last night and was one of two tables. I ordered bread which is $5.90 (remember when they would give it to you...I digress). It came with olive oil. My kid wanted butter. No problem right? Well they charged me $7.90 for butter. When I asked about the "open food" charged they confirmed that was the price for butter. So bread and butter at this place cost me $13.80. Are you kidding me? Only redeeming quality about this place is its proximity to the Paramount but likely won't return after getting taken advantage of and you should heed my warning as well. Waitress had the opportunity to take it off bill and didn't. Too many options in this town and I don't need to get fleeced. Next!!

Yelp
I really had high hopes for this place, but I left severely disappointed. I am a big foodie and I rarely ever leave a spot 100% disappointed but boy oh boy... When I saw the cocktail and dinner menu before coming, I was excited.... nashville hot bao buns? pizzas? Nduja spread?!?! These are things that are very very hard to mess up and just delicious on their own... and given that it's an Italian taverna with 4 stars on yelp, I thought "this might be my new favorite spot". Boy was I wrong. Before I go into depth about all the dishes, I found all of them lacking in flavor and salt. Even the Nduja... which is unheard of cause Nduja offers so much flavor alone. Nduja, Bread, + Butter ---- Nduja is spreadable soft spicy sausage but this was hard. Rock solid. So every single time you ate some, you were eating cold hard fat and meat. I was shook. Fried Wild Mushrooms ---- I was super excited for this, and I've made fried oyster mushrooms as a chicken substitute (and if I can make it as a mediocre questionable chef, I assumed a restaurant would make it 10/10). Not the case. The mushrooms were not cut so we basically got a oyster mushroom florette that was deep fried and hard to cut and eat. Typically when making oyster mushrooms, you cut individual bunches/pieces and then dip and fry but this was such a lazy approach which made for a horrible meal and experience. All the breading fell off as soon as we tried to cut it because it was in one big chunk. Flavor on this was actually here but the dish was served so terribly that you couldn't even enjoy the essence of it. Nashville Hot Chicken Bao's ---- no flavor at all, not the chicken not the mayo which was very upsetting. It tasted like the bao it came in. I was so turned off by the apps so I went with the safest option on the menu for my main. Pizza. I get pizza from anywhere, but hardly at a restaurant, even though that's probably where it's served best. I opted for the Soppressata, Honey, Chili Oil, Basil... and these are good ingredients on a pizza for someone like me. The crust though... it tasted like cardboard. The texture and taste was so off that I couldn't finish anything past a slice. My other friend got a pizza, my sister got a pasta and brother in law got the cod special. None of them hated their meal as much as I did, but they didn't like or love it either. The cost for this was way too much given that it was probably the worst meal I've ever had at a restaurant. The only good thing about this place was our server, who was charismatic, patient and fun. Sorry to say but I won't be back.

Yelp
This place is super cute & trendy with a chill vibe. Our server was great, checking in on us every so often even though it was busy. We ordered brussel sprouts & beets salad to share as an app. They were ok- not bad. For dinner I ordered the pizza with spinach & pesto. It was ok- nothing special. I've had better. My friend ordered the fig pizza- also ok. Nothing impressive that would leave you wanting more. Typically I'd wrap up the leftovers to take home, but I left it. If they improve the menu, I'd come back. Otherwise, it's a pass for me.

V L.

Yelp
The only reason this place deserved a star was because the server was amazing. The food and drinks on the other hand....not good. We heard so many good things about this place but I was so so disappointed. The meat and cheese board barely had meat on it, the rice balls were cold and tasted like mashed potato on the inside and the pizza was barely cooked when it came out. The martinis tasted like water. The place is cute on the inside but food is not worth the money!

Yelp
Went to Ella's with a couple of girlfriends. I've heard so much about this place so I was so excited to try it out! I think they recently changed their menu... it used to be family style and now it's regular plates. The drinks were very good... refreshing and I enjoyed the way they were listed on the menu. They explained the type of alcohol in the drink as well as the other ingredients. The food for me, was just mediocre for the price. The appetizers were definitely the best part. I got cacio e Pepe for my meal and it was with black pasta, not squid ink, just black pasta. I thought that was a bit strange. It was served with an egg on top so it made it creamy but it really was very bland other than that. My other friends got steak and another pasta, again, just OK. I most likely won't be back for the price point of these options. Our waitress was super nice though and very attentive. They also don't have any happy hour at their bar.

Jaime L.

Yelp
Food has gone way down hill and over salted. The dressing for the Caesar tasted like it was from a jar. Servers were very nice though. Will not return.
google avatar

Yelp
Fantastic gluten free pizza dough. The smoked duck french dip was wonderful. Good drinks and service. If your looking for quiet this is not your place. The only downside is the horribly uncomfortable chairs.

Sandra C.

Yelp
Ambiance was nice and cozy. There was live music which was great, but a bit loud! Service was good, except she didn't check on us after dinner was served. The portion size was crazy, $17 for 7 buffalo chicken wings, didn't even include celery. The dinner was a literal bite, talk about tiny plates! The chilean sea bass was like eating brine. The salmon risotto a bit salty swimming in olive oil, salmon tasteless. Charging for bread really! It looks like the only thing worth ordering was pizza. The experience was a disappointment and definitely not worth $120.

Yelp
I've eaten their pies at the restaurant. I've eaten their pies in the founders room. Both times, The pizza looked good, fire cooked rustic and authentic. But these pies have very little soul put into them in regards to flavor. The regular no topping pie is no better than a microwave pizza flavor wise. I cannot imagine a pepperoni sausage pie I would have any problems with, however tonight, upon biting into a slice from Ella's with these toppings, it was a salt lick. I couldn't eat more than a bite even with a few beers behind me.

Yelp
Great staff, great food. Apps and Pizzas very good. But No Jack Daniels! Strange but true

Yelp
Horrible experience!! What was supposed to be a special 50th birthday celebration turned into a scary experience. We had reservations. When we got there we were greeted by the hostess. She went to check on our table...she came back 2 minutes later asking if she can help us....we told her she was looking for our table!! Ok! We finally sit at our table. A guest I was with has a nut and shellfish allergy. She tells the waiter. He assures us there will be neither of those things on her plate. Sure enough dinner comes she takes a bit and eats a pine nut!! Her throat starts getting itchy and we are starting to panic because this situation can escalate very quickly. Thankfully we ran out to get Benadryl and that worked quickly. The staff was very apologetic but honestly, do better!! Food allergies are no joke. You could have killed someone!!! Double check, triple check!! Will NOT be going back there!!!

Yelp
I was very excited to order Ellas as our dinner choice for this years New Years Eve meal, and it was all very special. We went wild, ordered basically the whole menu, including: - Zucchini Bread- Delicious, Very Special - Beets by Koji- Alright, One Time Order -Fried Mushrooms- Very Good, Little Too Salty - Croquettes- Good, Tasty - Agnotelli - Very Good, Very Special - Skirt Steak- Savory, Special, Top Choice -Harvest Pizza- Tasty, Happy to Have Again - Nice and Smooth Pizza- Delicious The order was also taken seamlessly online through their website, they open up ordering availability at 4:30, they open at 5. Drive up service was top class, they have an area to easily pull up, they had a guy outside ready to run in and get your order, another guy who will direct traffic in a suit/mask. It was all very smoothly handled. We will definitely be returning for another high class dining experience in the future!

Heather R.

Yelp
Went there this week to try out the new menu. It was amazing! Such delicious choices and the portion sizes are much better! The orecchiette was very good- light and tasty! The braised short ribs were so tender and flavorful. The El Scorcho drink was amazing! The new manager, James, was present, friendly, accommodating, and attentive. What a nice change to see overall at Ella's. We will definitely be returning!

Yelp
Firstly, the best thing about our meal/experience was our server. Didn't catch his name but he was just so helpful and nice and extremely patient. The interior of the restaurant was nice, for those that know the area-this restaurant is located where Swallow used to be when it was in Huntington. The food though-did not live upto my expectations. The Nashville hot baos were decent at best. The fried mushrooms were difficult to eat because it was like one massive cluster of mushrooms (that had not been separated) that was fried and served. It was kinda of hard to cut, and when you did try to cut it, the moisture of the mushroom made the entire dish soggy. The bread appetizer just seemed like sliced white bread (white bread may actually have been better), and then we asked for the nduja spread and it kind of threw me off. We got a bowl with a big chunk of very cold/hard/unspreadable nduja. Personally, I would've probably cooked it down and then served it so that it would be the right consistency for a dip/spread. If the bread at a restaurant is not good, it's setting our meal up for failure!!! My cacio e pepe was okay, but my husband got the cod special with sausage which he really enjoyed. The pizzas our friends ordered were fine, but our friends found something off about the texture of the crust. I had high hopes for this place but they were just that, hopes. I left unsatisfied unfortunately. I also do agree with some other reviews that state that it was very pricy meal.

Yelp
Excellent service and atmosphere. Great murals on the walls. Food was delicious. Burrata pizza was excellent and my mocktail was tasty.

Yelp
Had been wanting to check this place out for a while and it did NOT disappoint! Drinks AND food were amazing. I got the gnocchi which was out of this world & the 93 'Til Infinity. Reservations were super easy to make & I will absolutely be back!

Yelp
The only reason I'm giving Ella's 3 stars is because of the manager Mike. I went out with 5 people for an 8pm reservation on a Saturday night. The Resteraunt wasn't too packed but unfortunately the service was horrible. Frankly, the worst service I ever had. The server only came over if you called him over and even with calling him over, he would still forget items that we requested. The manager heard our voiced concerns and comped us. The food is impeccable so I will come back bc I'm a simp for good food but yktv.

Yelp
Visited this amazing little spot on a visit to my bestie who wanted to show me her little town. AMAZING is probably an understatement of epic proportions. Great beers on tap and the food is creative, flavorful and wonderfully presented. Justin at the bar was super attentive and didn't mind (and could answer) my questions about the beer selections. Don't miss this place!

Michael D.

Yelp
Food here is excellent! The service at best was subpar the other night. Our server only came over to us after he was waived down. We had to asked him multiple times for certain items. I would understand if it was busy but it wasn't ! Our server was assisting other tables and even managed to spend time talking to other servers. Our meal took us two hours from start to finish. If our server was more attentive we would have had more drinks. When I requested the manger the server came over instead asking if there was any problems. I made it clear to him we wanted the check and to leave. Even then he took his time. Thanks to the manger Mike for trying to make things right. We will definitely be back to try it again because the food was so good! Just hope the service is better next time. Funny the manager Mike gave us a paramount gift card instead of an Ella's gift card. Probably thought we didn't want to come back.

Yelp
Take out was ready on time! The ambiance is very loud though. Excellent pizzas!!! Fresh, innovative and delicious! Plus they offer homemade gluten free crust which is so good. Lots of vegan options. Especially a gf vegan pizza! Will be back!

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place for some time now and finally got the pleasure. It's bigger than it looks from the outside and there's a parklet with tables outside. We opted for indoor. The drinks are very good, I had an adios amigos and really enjoyed it. We shared 2 menu items the sweet corn agnolotti and a catch a fire pizza, both really good. I LOVED the agnolotti, buttery sauce, sweet deliciousness. I very rarely get the same menu item twice I like to try new things, but this I could eat everyday. The pizza was good too, spicy mixed with the spicy sweet hot honey, it was good! I can't wait to go back.

Yelp
So good! Great cocktails, food and and service. The restaurant design was cool and artistic, very well thought out. The service was Perfect! Thank you! It was a pleasure to dine with you!

Yelp
I was somewhat hesitant to dine at Ellas as a vegan. I stopped by the day before I had planned to dine and asked about the menu and what I could order. Basically a lot of things can be made vegan, but there is only one true vegan option in the menu as is. The anthem of the sun pizza was the only vegan option, but it was very good. I did not miss the cheese at all. It had a lot of well seasoned vegetables on it and was definitely filling. Their pizza dough/crust is really good here. My friends had the nice and smooth pizza and the wings which were both very good too, the wings come with a little bottle of hot sauce which I used on my pizza to take it up a notch. They had a special frozen drink that night, which was really nice on a hot day, but a tad on the sweet side. Our server was very nice and perfectly attentive. We were there for a couple hours catching up and she never made us feel like we were a bother. Overall the experience was good. I really wish they had more vegan options as is, rather than having to ask for things to be taken away or altered. Since they have the one vegan pizza option, one vegan appetizer option would've been really nice so that I could have easily shared an app with my friends.

Yelp
Finally got around to coming and loved every second! We got the cheddar biscuits, mozzarella and a pizza, as well as cocktails. Everything was delicious and the service was great. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
Ella's is a beautiful resturant in Huntington with a more intimate vibe and beautiful decor. The food is pretty good, not over the top. But I mostly come for the drinks and ambiance!

Yelp
Food was average. Service was not good. No management on the floor. Very disappointed . There are better options !!!

Yelp
My gf and I went on a double date here with our friends. As soon as you walk in the vibes are on point. Very Brooklyn-like. There's cool paintings on the walls, the music is the perfect volume. Then there's the food which is incredible! We got the Nice and Smooth pizza. It is a sweet and savory type, which you can't go wrong with. Also the cacio e Pepe was a delicacy. Most of the food is tapas style, so it is perfect for sharing. The drinks were good, the drink ledger is very cute. Our waiter, Justin, was super chill and attentive. We will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.

Yelp
Tried to go to Ella's today, went at 430 figured no reservation was needed as there were 2 people sitting in dining room. Rudely told there were no seats available and we could stand by the bar. Needless to say never going back.

Yelp
AVOID THIS PLACE.....there are so many other better places to eat in Huntington. The food here is way below acceptable. My wife and her cousin both had the skirt steak. It was really bad....no joke....over cooked and not a proper cut. It took forever to chew. Spoke to the waitress about it....then after we paid and spoke to the manager so he can potential correct future meal like this in the kitchen.....he simply said "sorry" but his mannerisms and tone felt disingenuous. I believe the Paramount owns this restaurant.....and it's obvious that no one cares about the quality of food they are serving....unlike the previous owner did when it was called Swallow. AVOID THIS PLACE.....there are so many other better places to eat in Huntington.

Yelp
I was eager to try this place as they're the sister restaurant of Old Fields, which I love. They don't take reservations, but the space is pretty big and there were a decent amount of tables. * Cucumber Salad - calling all cucumber/pickle lovers! You'd love this just like I did - light and refreshing! * Duck (special for the day) - consisted of 5 pieces of duck as well as shredded duck wrapped in a wonton wrapper. The duck was cooked really well, but the sauce they paired it with was a bit too sweet for me. * Blueprint Pizza - the dough was soft and chewy. Pizza was thin and not too heavy which I love about wood fired pizzas! Definitely a nice ambience for a date night, not too expensive either. Definitely has huge potential!

Yelp
I have been so remiss in writing a review for this place because I really have enjoyed my time there on several occasions. But what stands out the most is the unique selection of food on the menu. And there are unusual items that are really memorable to like the zucchini bread which is a personal fave. Other stand outs for me would be the fresh mozzarella curds, the nice and smooth pizza with fig (OMG!), and the agnolotti with brown butter and fried sage. Cocktail selection is very unique in that they have a grid listing type of liquor and type of glass next to the description of the actual drink, so if you're like me and you enjoy tequila you can just look directly at the tequila drinks! The vibe is laid-back and so cool. And Ella's has really done well in replacing swallow at that spot. And swallow was my most favorite restaurant in town. One interesting note though, they don't serve coffee and dessert is like one choice. The only reason why I know is because my friends took me here for my birthday and that just seemed strange. But the food is so good that we let it slide.

Yelp
Unimpressed. Food looks so good but it was nothing to rave about. Calamari was nice and crispy but the breading falls off so easily. The aioli and marinara dipping sauces were good though! My shrimp risotto was VERY salty. And my fiancés pappardelle was good but he wasn't impressed. The service was overall ok. Ended up skipping dessert. Doubt we will be back
