Ellie Mae's Tiki Bar

We are just visitors here, but this our “go to” place. The service is great the bar drinks are very good. Jill even served my dog a bowl of water and a piece of bacon. The peel and eat shrimp were unexpectedly large and cooked just right. I love sitting outside, toes in the sand, and listening to the music. I’m so glad we found this place!

Always fun! Great Tiki Bar drinks, excellent food, friendly staff. Feels like a mini vacation out back. Check the schedule for bands. Check daily specials. The food is delicious, I especially love the Turkey, Fig jam sandwich and the Peel & Eat shrimp which you can order hot or cold. The owner Peg is a real sweetheart and has poured her heart into this business. If you see Peg bopping around, say hi! We are locals and love it here but visitors also find their way here and love it too. Stop by.

Ellie Mae’s is amazing! We went in the middle of the afternoon on a weekday, so it was pretty quiet. We sat at the bar, and the service was fast and friendly. My husband loved the famous pot roast, and I loved the shrimp po boy. The “caviar” side was delicious as well. They also had a great selection of beers on draft. This is a must stop!

A tiny bit off the main drag, but it's a go-to place. Great food and excellent tiki drinks. Make sure you check out the back area. Good amount of shade and a full bar. Missed the live music, but would go back for sure!

Always a stop we enjoy on bike pub crawls in the Canaveral area. Our most recent stop was during the 2025 Bicycle Bar Tour for Homeless Veterans. Enjoyed Sunny's first day of bartending at Ellie Mae's - great mixologist and witty banter. The food, as always, was yummy - we had a BLT slider and a Turkey Bacon Fig sandwich.

Great food, service and atmosphere. Best Christmas spirit in town; they went all out with the decorations, holiday drinks and specials. Ellie Mae's is the heart of our community!

Good was amazing,Service was great. And our food came out within 15min ! We will definitely be back. The roast beef/ French dip sandwich was my all time favorite, but the peel and eat shrimp was good too ! And we also had the blackened chicken sandwich hit the spot. Everything we experienced today was outstanding. Oh, I never been a fan of coleslaw but this hit home. Sweet, moist, crunchy.

One of our favorite places to visit. Outside tiki bar, hanging out with our dog…. The owner is an awesome lady and her staff is amazing. Peyton even came up with a special mojito for me…although it’s become wildly popular cuz it’s delicious!!! A watermelon, cucumber mojito with coconut rum. If you’re ever here in the evening, ask Peyton for a Peyton’s Launch Pad! She’ll launch your senses!! 🚀 🍉 🥒 🍹

Jill is an amazing bartender!!! I love that this place is dog friendly!!!! Sundays are so laid back & fun!!! Will def be going again!!! The Mac & cheese yes please again & again!!! Cheers!

11/10 recommend. Some of the BEST food my wife and I have ever had in our lives. We got the chicken and sausage soup which was the best soup we ever had, the shrimp which was buttery and a side of Mac and cheese. It was 1/2 off shrimp (Wednesday) and happy hour, so with 2 cups of soup, a 1/2 pound of shrimp, a side of Mac and cheese, an alcoholic drink and 2 sodas it came out to 35$ for two people and some of the best food ever. On top of that, our waitress Amanda was amazing and at the end of her shift, Jill took over who was equally as amazing. The interior atmosphere was great, with our table being a surfboard. We didn't sit outside, but peaked out there to see the real tiki bar where they were starting live music. If you're in the area and like GREAT service, AWESOME and affordable food and a quiet, welcoming restaurant, you'd be silly not to come here.

Another great dog-friendly find & just a little fact, Ellie Mae is the owners adorable dog featured in the basket on the bicycle. She resembles our baby very much! This little place gets crowded quickly on a Friday night! Everyone seemed to know someone! It was a bit of an older crowd, mostly coming for the live band that was setting up. If we had left our girl back at the cottage, we would've stayed, but she's sensitive to loud noises. Okay, the food! I am a meat & potatoes kind of girl so had to try the pot roast. It was perfect! Heavenly! Just like my late Mom used to make! It came with a small side salad, which was basic but fresh, & a roll - but the pot roast was the star here! We also had a Reuben, & every bite was delicious, & eaten! This is at the top of our list the next time we're in the area. What a wonderful owner (we share a name as well ) & friendly local patrons!

While killing a little time before having to head to the airport after getting off a cruise, I looked up best rated restaurants and came across this place. The reviews absolutely are on point! The shrimp po boy sandwich and their Mac n cheese was to die for. The shrimp is so juicy and large and the homemade sauce is outstanding. The bun is buttered and toasted. The Mac n cheese is creamy, similar to a sour cream and chive flavor. If I ever come back this way, this is the spot I'm going to. Highly recommend!

Great drinks at a cute local spot on a hot summer day. The waitstaff all friendly as I watched them diligently working as I waited for a storm to pass. Would return when weather is better. Too hot!!

Great food and drinks with good pricing and atmosphere. We sat at the bar and the bartender was really nice and we had nice conversation. If we are back in the area we will definitely be back.

I sat out back at the tiki bar itself and was fine even with rain. The bartender was great, very friendly, and I tried her drink specialty. I got some beer and a slider flight, but next time I'd try the hot dog flight. There was live music showing up as I left. It looked fun,maybe a bit of an older crowd though, but there were some families as well. It looks like the locals like it a lot.

Waitresses Amanda and Jill were SO kind and welcoming. The soup is the best we've ever had, and the whole meal was fulfilling. Wednesdays are 1/2 off on Shrimp and we happened to come during happy hour, so it was super cheap. AMAZING!!

Such a cute place and the food is wonderful! The server was super friendly and helpful and the wait staff were all helping one another. We had the French dip(off menu), the macaroni and cheese, the street corn, and a quesadilla with chicken. The French dip was amazing!! It was pot roast with onions on a roll with au jous and creamy horseradish. I don't do spicy and I could have eaten the horseradish with a spoon, the beef was tender and the onions were a wonderful compliment. The street corn wasn't our favorite, it needed more acid, but the macaroni and cheese was really good! The noodles weren't overly mushy and the cheese was creamy and flavorful. It needed a little salt, my husband put it on a potato chip and it was the perfect bite. If you are in the area, this is a must visit!!

We had the best steamed shrimp peel and eat as an appetizer. Then a blackened chicken sandwich with slaw and my husband had the poboy shrimp that was a special. We got to listen to Just Us band while at the bar with stand alone heaters. Best value for a meal So far!! Definitely would come back to listen to the music. And have another poboy!!

Absolutely awesome dive bar that is not so divey! This little place on the side street Cape Canaveral isn't absolutely excellent. Place to chill and have a great bite to eat! The inside is a small and cozy tiki bar, but outside in the back is a wonderful place When the weather is nice. I think they have live music but we went on an early weekday afternoon The shrimp cocktail they served by the half pound or pound, but what was really nice was both the colossal size of the shrimp and that they served it with clarified butter and cocktail sauce. The large portion of the pound shrimp included street corn which we would have ordered by itself had it not already been included. The quality and volume of shrimp was absolutely outstanding for the price The pot roast slider was tender and flavorful. The menu also had a bowl of pot roast with mashed potatoes, carrots etc as an entree. I have their daily special of a bowl of the soup of the day, as well as a a cup of soup with a slider. I forget which was which bowl or cup, but they were serving Brunswick stew that day as well as a guinness / tomato based stew. My stuff myself on the wonderful food and did not regret it for one second!

Excellent Tiki bar and a comfortable place to stay for a while. We had BLT sliders and pimento cheese dip which were both delicious. Inside is nicely done in tiki and it was very clean. Service was top notch and the bartender was very attentive.

Met Ellie Mae's mom! She served us outside at the Tiki Bar, we crowd sourced all of the recommendations and made good food choices. Mai Tai and Bloody Mary were yum! Got the dip trio - fish dip was the best! Hubs had a french dip with more of a pot roast meat and thought it was good. I really liked the mac and cheese. Portions were a bit large so I wish we would have split. Nice vibe and crowd. Drop in and give it a try :)

Found out about this place from yelp. We had an amazing dinner here the boiled shrimp the assorted appetizers the roast beef sandwich. Everything we touched was amazing and original. Wasn't like you were just eating some Sysco food that they heated up highly recommend.

We were walking home and decided to call in after paying no attention in the past. We are SO glad we did. This establishment is clean, well decorated and a very comfortable environment. The service was terrific, fast, friendly and welcoming. Prices are very fair and the whole ambience is really good. What a wonderful addition to the neighborhood- we have found our go to for each time we are in Cape Canaveral.

It started off kind of rough because the parking was a nightmare. Plus it was raining so the outdoor area was brought indoors. There were some questionable folks hanging around that didn't seem to happy to see a family enter the place. Nonetheless, we stayed and got a table. Our waitress was so friendly and kind. Very talkative and nice young lady. We ordered a bunch of sliders and burgers and side salads. Everything was so good. The place was overall clean. I would come back but maybe early in the day to avoid the bar crowd.

Ellie Mae's Tiki Bar, if you don't relax in this place then you may have troubles Easy going atmosphere, lots of beach style comfort in every corner. Nice big bar inside and really nice Tiki Bar outback. Entertainment galore. A lot of work has gone into this neighborhood spot for locals and tourists I had the curry chicken sliders and it was just perfect to eat while listening to one of our favorite local musicians, Matt Simpson. Our waiter was the bomb!! He was right on it all evening. So happy to have this spot in our hood. Stop in once in awhile, you won't be disappointed.

The service was quick and friendly, the food was absolutely delicious, and there was a musical act that was amazing! Will absolutely come back!

This place can be fun but it seems to have regular crowds frequently and as an occasional customer you can felt left out sometimes. The entertainment is usually really good. The outside seating has been updated with more room. Food is ok but kind of pricey for what it is. Seems like I see county police parked nearby often. It feels like they're looking for trouble. This place is on our regular rotation but down the list somewhat.

Just a great place to hang out on Sunday mornings the service area is always top-notch. Jill is definitely the best bartender around.

This local tiki bar is an absolute gem--cozy, welcoming, and full of charm. The atmosphere is cute and thoughtfully decorated with creative tropical touches that make it feel like a mini getaway. The service is incredibly friendly and makes your experience feel even more personal. Now the food--wow. I ordered the French dip sandwich, and it was hands-down the best I've ever had. Perfectly toasted, packed with flavor, and served with a rich, delicious au jus that took it over the top. Tender meat fell apart with melty cheese and sautéed onions....You can tell a lot of care goes into what comes out of the kitchen. If you're looking for a laid-back spot with great vibes, standout food, and genuine service, this place is it. I can't wait to be greeted by the sweet owner, hear about her adorable little pup, Ellie Mae, and talk to Jill, one of their fabulous bartenders. We are now regulars when visiting Florida.

This was absolutely the cutest place to eat. The food was awesome and the staff so friendly! Several people came over to see how we were doing. We ate outside and listened to the live band who was so good. The seating was comfortable and shaded which was nice since it was close to 100 degrees outside. I loved this place and plan on coming again while we are vacationing here. I had the pot roast sliders and my husband had the chicken sandwich, the portions were huge. Highly recommend this place!

What a cool place. This is what I want when vacationing (or being local) in Florida. The back deck of the tiki bar just gives off vacationing vibes. The vible is like AJs in Destin, except for this place isn't on the water. There was live music, a lively crowd and the food was good, really good. I have eaten more than my fair share of grouper sandwiches, but this grouper actually tasted really fresh, it had a "fluffiness" factor. I don't know how else to describe it, but the bite was a perfect texture. I had the onion rings that were good, and the wine was chilled to perfection. At first I was irritated when the hostess would tell people that there was a 45 minute wait AND the bars were full. Usually you want people having drinks while they try to wait patiently for their table, but we were told 45 minute wait, and we were seated within 10 minutes, and it was nice not having people reaching over you, and trying to belly up to the bar while we were eating. We had oysters on the half shell, and they were tasty and cold, a little on the small side but that is what is happening here in Florida and else where, Apalachicola oysters are being over caught and now they aren't as abundant as they were when I was younger. Overall a great place, with a cool vibe where you can get your chill on!

Cute, casual restaurant with fun decor inside, and a cool tiki bar area out back. We ate indoors as stopped during the lunch hour. My shrimp tacos were excellent! I'm still dreaming of those succulent, perfectly seasoned shrimp! Hubby loved his Cuban sandwich, had a curry type of sauce on it. Had the local IPA, icy cold! Staff very welcoming and attentive. Great little spot in Cocoa Beach, highly recommend!

Came to check this place out as a local after seeing the reviews and was pretty disappointed by the service.. watched our food sit for 5-10 minutes on the crotch-height bar counter where other customers (and staff) were passing by. No heat lamp or covering around it, just sitting above an open trash can. Pair that with the fact that she couldn't remember my drink order and then brought me the wrong food order and I probably won't be back. I would've felt differently if the place was busy but it was slow and we were a party of 2. Drink was cute tho ‍

It WAS nine o'clock on a Saturday. The regular crowd had shuffled in. It was a pinch of party And a splash of gin! Surf lapping the sand In time with the band. Old stomping grounds beckon me back. My review Nothing but the facts, Jack! Stopped in, Fab One & I, to hear our friend, the piano man and JustUs, the band. They were rockin the hut! Plenty of happy faces and dancing duets. What surprised us both was the food. Sharing a Street Corn Named Desire, it was the cotiga cheese that tipped the taste. Yum. Fab One got the Florida Fresh Spinach Salad. That definitely met her delicious desires. I got the Chef's Salad. Perfectly proportioned, the cherrywood smoked ham elevated my expectations. Sitting at the Tiki Bar, naturally, we were ably served by Zuko, in all his glory. We had an excellent time at Ellie Mae's!

Clean, Fun and the staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. The food is crazy good. Simple menu but chef knows what they are doing beyond a line cook! Specials were better than high end places in Brevard for half the money. Will keep going back!

Bobi... our server. OMG, what an amazing lady. We rode our bicycles to the restaurant and it started raining. After a lovely dinner and amazing drinks, and lots of rain, Bobi managed to get us a ride back to our campground. I've never ever in my life have been treated so nicely at any restaurant... ever!!! Pure kindness. Thank you Bobi. We will definitely come back to Ellie Mae's Tiki.

If heaven was a place on earth, it would be right here. It's for the locals, it's for the tourists, it's for you. There aren't any deep friars here so it smells clean, it is clean- spotless actually. Every team member here is a fixture, the whole menu is made from scratch good home cooking, all of your favorites. The drinks are fresh poured, fresh pressed oranges, lemons, grapefruit, fresh cut pineapple- I mean if doing it right was a science this place wrote the thesis. It's safe, friendly, kind and fun. There is a huge outside bar with tables, sand and live music... if you're lucky you'll see a few lizards and get to pet a dog. Locally owned by a woman kinder than your favorite aunt and hands down, the most comfortable bar chairs on the island. I love this place.

OMG what a hidden gem!! The BEST Mac and Cheese I have ever had!! The pork roast was divine! Had to eat it for lunch and dinner and didn't want to get the taste out of my mouth!!! Fantastic food

We walked and and greeted by the bar tender to sit wherever. We chose a seat and ordered drinks. My drink was not the one that was ordered so i let the waitress know. She takes it back to the bar and i watch a man pour it into another glass, added garnish and brought it back. Same drink. I didn't say anything. Ordered a beer and went on. We had shrimp, crabs, and a reuben. I thought everything was great! 8/10 on food. Now the atmosphere is very dive bar/locals. We felt like people were looking at us. Maybe so, maybe not. To me it was a very local feel which many people like but this was like members only vibe. Anyway, if it were my hometown dive bar, I would be a regular, but to me, it is definitely not a tourist place.

Went in and wasn't sure if it was a small towny bar. Found out sitting outside in the back with the sand and live singer was a great relaxing experience. Best shrimp, pot roast and drinks. Waited a little but worth it for the food and great set up. Very nice and great service very nice. Plan to go there every time we come back.

I was looking for a place where I could take my dog with me to get a bite to eat. When I arrived, this restaurant was on a side street in back of the Moon Hut. The front entrance was a little dark- the signs were neon in the front door had surfboards. But the parking was right outside the front door. Don't be worried to step inside, it's not a raunchy bar- it's a small little place but I needed to walk through to the outside. The weather was great and to my amazement there was a wide open tiki area with adarondak chairs, large picnic tables room to dance. The ground outside was sand and small shells and live music.. and good food!!! I was with a new friend that I met at the Lori Wilson dog park and at 9 o'clock at night we ordered four items to share. The watermelon and heirloom tomato salad was amazing and beautiful. The tacos were five dollars each. We ordered two the quesadilla was filled with barbecue chicken, and it comes with sour cream and pico on the side, but my favorite was the mac & cheese of course homemade with a combination of cheeses and we chose it to be topped with barbecue pulled pork. All of the food was beautiful. They were welcoming to both my friend and myself with our dogs-because it was late the night after the Fourth of July the servers were a little distracted but all in all I have a new place to frequent when I return to Cocoa Beach.

Stopped in based on Yelp reviews, we were not disappointed. Food was great, prices reasonable and staff was friendly (even though it obvious we were not Locals) The decor was cool, reminds me of Rockaway Beach. They have a really SWEET outdoor bar and dining area. Don't judge based on the entrance, this is a great place for down home food

Hidden Gem , Terrific food ..friendly down to earth staff and patrons. Cool vibe. Seems like this is a favorite to the locals.. Loved this place! Everything we had was amazing (we ate here two nights in a row while we were in town) Roast beef sliders w mashed n carrots were great. Carved Turkey w cranberry cheese , and cranberry jalapeño Mayo was awesome too. And the chocolate lava cake w strawberries was beautiful and amazing . Made my night! Ellie's is a casual, no-frills spot with great food and music. We came in on a slow Sunday afternoon and ordered a margarita and Florida mule to drink and quesadillas and the street corn. The food was filling but not heavy and the drinks were refreshing. They also offer daily specials and happy hour on the weekdays. Fair prices too -- our bill for 2 people was around $50 including tip.

We got treated like we were long-lost relatives. We ordered the chicken Ellie Mae's sandwich. It was delicious big plump piece of chicken on a cornmeal bun. We also got the corn on the cob covered in cheese and chilies and the peel and eat shrimp with Florida Key Lime sauce. Run, do not walk and get to this hidden gem.
