Elliot's Wood Fired Kitchen & Tap

I stopped in for an evening snack and greatly enjoyed my visit. The food was good, the beer selection was excellent, everyone there was friendly, and the bartender was awesome.

Delicious wood oven 🍕 We tried, and thoroughly enjoyed, the Roasted Red pepper, arugula and goat cheese salad and a red pepper goat cheese pie. Everything being served looked yummy! I almost forgot the wide local beer selection. Our server was excellent.

Stopped in for the first time & had a great experience! Atmosphere was great - a little upscale but still comfortable, not so big that it feels crowded. Staff was friendly & helpful, and the food/drinks were great! We got a pizza with pesto, fresh basil, tomato & mushroom. Their fall/seasonal drink, the Apple Cinnamon Sangria, and Tiramisu - all were delicious!! Will definitely go back if I'm in the area & recommend to others :)

Our waitress did not stop the whole night. She was so busy but was awesome! The summer cocktails they have taste incredible! The blackberry bourbon sour is my favorite! They have 20 beer taps so plenty to choose from. The portabella mushrooms are the perfect appetizer and the horseradish dip is so flavorful. The wood fire pizza is delicious too. I tried the protein stir fry with chicken and it was good but I think the pizza is my favorite. The unisex bathrooms are handicap accessible and also have changing tables in them. The building is so cute and right in downtown Newark. Ole entry of seating at the bar as well as tables and booths. Definitely coming back!

Fun atmosphere with good upbeat music, nice service and great food!! The Brussels Sprout Appetizer was excellent and the tomato bisque soup was good. The Pizza was amazing with a thinner crust which is crisp on the thin edges and the perfect chewiness everywhere else. Don’t Miss: The Pickle Pizza! Even the Margherita Pizza was really good! Definitely opt for the butter garlic crust option if you like Garlic. Pizza’s didn’t taste burnt like some wood fired pizzas. Was excellent.

My friends and I had a great experience when we walked over to Elliot's for dinner. The food was tasty and they provided great service. We were greeted just after walking in and seated right away. We were seated at a bar-height booth and most of the seating seemed to be that height, but I am not sure if there was more accessible seating available. We ordered the Roasted Red Pepper and Goat Cheese pizza, the Chicken Bacon, and Ranch pizza, and a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich for our entrees, and cheese curds and hummus as our appetizers from the "Hankerings" part of the menu. All the food was wonderful! The hummus plate came with delicious wood fired pita and a nice variety of veggies. The portions were good for the price and we all went home with leftovers. The service from the waitstaff was very attentive and friendly. They even went above and beyond and offered to fill my water bottle for me as we were leaving! I would absolutely recommend them and eat here again.

This place is wonderful! I have dined in a few times and the staff is always attentive, the food quick, and the atmosphere welcoming. The buffalo chicken pizza is a favorite of mine, but you also can't go wrong with their meatball sub! Primarily though, I tap on Elliots as the main lunch spot for volunteers that I coordinate in Newark. I'll call with between 7 and 10 orders (right around lunch time) and the wait is typically minimal. The orders are always fresh and correct and the wonderful ladies behind the bar help me to my car all the time! Absolutely recommend checking out this gem, or their other locations!

Mom used to work at the courthouse and they were hosting an open house after a big remodel of the big courtroom. We went specifically to Elliot's since It was the Sparta Restaurant back in the day... everything was great, server, food and drinks. We had three varieties of their street tacos, deep fried cheese curds and the May special martinis (and maybe two other flavors). We had a great day in Newark!

I live across the street & go here at least once a week. Food is great. People & services very good. Sometimes it very crowded so you should be patient. Love the wood brick oven! Amblance... Great Well worth the visit. Pam Vk.

This is an other perfect service place in America! Thank you Emily, how nice you were! . I wish order pizza here but we had yesterday and we wanted some thing different . The idea of fried rice and one protein is really good. But the taste not perfect as idea. It was ok. . I like French soup. This was ok. The presentation very good but test wasn't what I expect. It must be thicker I think. Aaand my favorite thing was shishito peppers! It was perfect! OMG, you have to try. Very Turkish style. We serve this in Turkiye with tomato sauce and yogurt. I can give you recipes if you want. We put tomato sauce on top and the yogurt on to tomato sauce or vice versa. I add a photo to show you. But you need nice bread if you eat this:)

My wife and I had lunch here last week. Service prompt and efficient despite busy lunch hour. I had the meatball sub and southwest slaw. Very good sandwich.having lived and still vacation on the east coast I have eaten a lot of meatball subs. The quality of the meatballs and seasoning was spot on. One note I wish the sub roll had a little more body and some crust to it. The slaw was crispy and I loved the heat in the dressing. My wife who is a b.it of a burger fiend has found a new smash burger favorite. It was gone before my sub. All around enjoyable time and a very good lunch. We will be back.

We were here in a Sunday for early lunch. We walked in right after they opened at 11am. There are already people sitting at the bar. It tells me this is a popular place in town! We got hummus appetizer, they came in a large plate with all kinds of veggie and pitta bread. The bread is warm and crispy on the bottom and chewy and very nice. I ordered their shrimp and fish taco, wow, those taco is just melting in your mouth, with so much flavor and texture. It's the best taco i ever tasted after Cozumel Mexico! Husband ordered the pizza with ingredients picked by him. I tasted one slice, it's super good! I think this is a super nice restaurant if you are in the area!

I visited with a colleague and customers. We chose Elliot's based on the great Yelp reviews. Those great reviews are spot on regarding the food and service. The venue isn't very big and our party of 4 had a 15 minute wait until a booth opened up. They have some really good craft beers on draft and sports on the TV's behind the bar. The bar maid became our server as well. She was a bit overwhelmed, but it was understandable since the place was very busy. We started out with appetizers ordering wings and cheese curds. We were starving at the time so we also ordered their meat lovers pizza as well as a vegetable pizza. The crust was very tasty and crisp. If deciding between the 2 pizzas, the one with the meat toppings wins.

Welcoming ambiance, friendly service, and tasty food and drinks. We enjoyed everything we ate. Appreciate a flavorful pizza crust that's sturdy enough to hold up all the toppings without collapsing.

What a fun place! We were seated promptly and warmly welcomed by Patrice, our server. Their full bar and about 20 beers on tap make it easy to find a beverage you enjoy. If you're a bourbon fan, definitely try their Black Walnut Old Fashioned. It's a good one! We enjoyed their Brussel sprouts, meatballs, cheese pizza and meatball sandwich. All were generous servings that were delicious. Wish we lived in Newark so we could visit this establishment on a regular basis. Good service. Good food. Good value. Cheers!

We had lunch at Elliot's a couple days ago. We discovered Elliot's a couple years ago and have eaten here several times. The meals have always been very good and the service friendly with polite, knowledgeable wait staff. On this recent outing my wife had their smash burger with fries and I had the Rueben. Both sandwiches were expertly prepared within a reasonable wait from ordering to food served hot from the kitchen. Both our meals were delicious! Our server checked in several times after our food arrived first to see if we were happy with our order and the taste and then a few more quick visits to see if we needed anything. They were attentive without being annoying; a welcomed detail. A view of their wood fired oven can be seen from most tables as is the kitchen and prep area. The inside is open with higher ceilings and there's a nice selection of roomy tables, booths, high top tables, and bar seats giving many choices for seating. On past visits we have tried their wood fired pizza, the Italian Sub, and fish tacos. All of our meals have been beyond good. Elliot's is on our restaurant rotation as a favorite dining destination with great food, fast, friendly service, and reasonable prices making it a solid home run!

We ordered the garlic bread with cheese and 2 personal pizzas. Everything we ordered was delicious and our waitress was great. We will definitely dine here again when we're in the area.

Great family spot after a hockey game. The menu has something for everyone. Service is fast with attention to detail.

Waited for just a few minutes to sit on a busy Saturday afternoon around 2:00 p.m. No kids menu per say it, but a crowd favorite of pizza. Woodfired crust is just chewy and crispy enough for my kiddos. Good amount of toppings, nice flavors. I ordered a meatball sub side salad. The salad is just iceberg and mozzarella cheese, asked for house vinaigrette on the side. Great dressing a lot like Greek vinaigrette. Sriracha honey brussel sprouts -it really just need to be chunked further, large slices not well unless then fairly "rare" with a lot of crunch. Great spot, comfortable, great service, will definitely visit here again when in town.

Elliot's good is great and the service is always friendly and fast. Never left disappointed!

The last time I ordered pizza it was to go. There was barely any sauce on the pizza and toppings were very skimpy for the price.

Yummy stuff here and a great first experience at Elliot's. My family visited while in town and we enjoyed the outdoor seating. Despite being on the sidewalk right next to the road, it wasn't loud and we didn't feel packed in with the tables next to us. We started with the fried mushrooms--portobellos were a surprising choice, but they tasted nice and meaty, and the horseradish dip was a delicious pairing. My partner got a chicken parm sandwich, which he really enjoyed. He said the breaded chicken and sauce were delicious together. The rest of us--three others--shared two pizzas: the veggie and the classic. Both were simple yet well-made and well-topped. After the appetizer, two pizzas was a good amount to share between the three of us, but I'm imagine if we only had the pizza that we'd have preferred one each. Overall, I'd definitely come back here and would recommend it to others.

WOW! Amazing food & great staff! We were in town last night for the Night Ranger concert & we walked over from our hotel for a late lunch before the show. Sat at the bar- bartender was super friendly & efficient (her name escapes me - blonde young woman) I had fried ravioli for my app & my husband had the portobello mushrooms app. We shared the Dre pizza-absolutely delicious!!! We are wood fired pizza snobs & this was one of the best we've ever had! Great bunch of people sitting at the bar as well. Next time we are in town we will be back! PS- Newark is a beautiful old town. As we were there on a Sunday many of the shops were closed. We said we will definitely make another day trip to explore further.

Feb. 28, 2024. I had lunch with my brother and his wife today and we all three had the Pick 2 lunch combos and they were delicious! Personally I had 1/2 meatball sub and French onion soup. They each had a salad and a 1/2 sandwich and they were great. Our waitress was very nice and efficient. Can't wait to go back again. What a great place to eat! :

Wow this place is amazing!! The pizza and wing were delicious, I think the best I've had!! Seems to get pretty busy on Saturday, but the service was pretty good! The atmosphere was pretty chill. I would definitely be going back!

A large group of parents and athletes walked away very pleased with Elliott's Wood Fire. Our group of 12 had issues with being able to locate dining and Elliott's pulled through with awesome fast customer service just before closing. Oh and the pies and salads were delicious too! It wasn't pretty but we agreed to get smashed in a booth and table to make it work for dinner around 35 minutes before close. Bless them for agreeing on our groups last night after the final day of swim competition. The restaurant on a Saturday night was packed at around 930 P The location in downtown Newark a block from the courthouse is in a old two story building. The town is so quaint that you can't help but love it. Parking is off street and free. Our super waiter had menus and waters out before we even asked. No pressure to order quickly but as parents we told the athletes to hurry. So orders placed for various pizzas, tacos and salads. We told the waiter one check to have no worries over the bill and expedite service. Our party was seated next to the kitchen in eye view of the wood fire stove. So we could see our masterpieces being made because we were the last orders of the night. The hustle was on to satisfy eight hungry swimmers. Within 5 minutes those with salad orders hit the table. About 10 minutes later beautiful looking pizzas were flowing out. Drink refills were performed. Everyone agreed on excellent taste and quality offerings and was extremely pleased at the expediting of our dinner. The pizza was the hero. Thank you to the staff at Elliott's from the Washu Swim team and parents we are grateful. Hope to see you again next season.

We ordered a little bit of everything and there was nothing in our table that wasn't great. From the great beer and mixed drink selection...to the wood fire pizza. Cheese curds were yum. We sat beside the wood fired oven and crew and a really enjoyed watching them work their magic. The entire staff was smiling, positive, and hard working...despite being quite busy. We plan to go back really soon.

This is a great little gem in the heart of downtown Newark. The ambiance is casual in a Newark meets the short north type of way. The wood fired pizza is the standout on the menu. I get it every time and I've never been disappointed. I'll add pizza pics during my next stop I'll be back over and over again when I'm in Newark. I think it's the best pie in the town.

I stopped into Eliot's with my wife on a Tuesday around 1:30 for a late lunch. The place was cozy and well appointed, and we grabbed a booth near the wood fire oven. The restaurant was very clean, and the staff was friendly. We each had a drink and a pizza. Everything was good, and the pizza was not too bad - not the best, but nothing to be ashamed of either. A strong 4 out of 5.

Smaller location, but surprisingly fits a lot more people than one might think. It is definitely hot inside, of course due to the wood fired oven. Service was good as we sat at the bar. Bartender did a nice job and was friendly. I know this is picky, but I found it odd that they allowed a bartender to wear a shirt from a completely different restaurant in which we visited as well. Pizza was honestly average. For a wood fired pizza, I expect lots of crisp, but mine was almost mushy. Kind of felt as though they forced it through the oven too fast. Another had a meatball sub and said it was done very well. Price wise, I felt like it was on par with what I have seen at similar places, so not a worry here.

Very tasty food! We split some shishito peppers. I had the French onion soup and Reuben sandwich lunch special. Reasonably priced. I'd like to try the pizza sometime...they were out of basil or I would have had the Margherita pizza.

Tried a greek salad and a classic pizza. Both were wonderful and very fresh. Service was great. Gluten free crust available.

Pickle pizza was great. I went with about 11-12 people and the service was great definitely recommend.

This is the best wood fire pizza and sandwich restaurant in Newark. The red pepper and goat cheese pizza is great! All of their specialty pizzas have a great combination of ingredients and flavors. My favorite salad is the Edgy Greek. There is not a lot of space but you'll love the old fashion bar and brick decor. If you like Italian subs, try "The Italian", it has loads of meat and flavors!

I was yesterday years old when I found this cool place! Now let me tell ya why I think it's a cool place: outdoor tables...on a quiet street, with umbrellas! Inside has a total chill pub-like vibe with high tops and booths...very nice cocktail menu: not too much but some unique offerings that scream "try me!" And how about that pizza oven as a focal point...Appetizers for any pallet but meatballs and bruschetta are don't misses. Pizza is fabulous with that fresh wood burning oven flavor. And to top it off, servers like Katie, who greet you, laugh with you, no pressure and great suggestions! Thanks Katie! You are a gem, in a gem place with gem food and drinks! See ya next time!

I was in Mebane for a work trip and ended up going to this restaurant twice! The menu was great, pizza was fresh, and drinks were awesome!

Service at Elliot's was great. Didn't wait for a thing. Nice spot. Located centrally in downtown Newark. Clean streets and quaint little town. Atmosphere was great and the food was amazing. I had the roasted red pepper and goat cheese pizza. Came out of their wood fired oven perfectly cooked.

We stopped in at Elliot's after walking Dawes Arboretum and it's just the warm atmosphere needed on a cool fall day. It was busy, but we were seated after only a short wait. They have a large selection of beer on tap as well as a nice cocktail and whiskey/bourbon selection. My husband ordered the Reuben. He said that the meat was tender and not stringy or tough. All flavors of the sandwich were full and balanced. The sweet potato fries were almost like candy and even better with a dash of salt. The dipping sauce was like caramel and would be better on ice cream than to dip fries in though. I ordered the meatball sub with sweet potato fries, after reading a review on Yelp. It was the perfect comfort food. The bun was toasted on the interior with a warm and soft exterior. There was a great balance of meatball, sauce, and cheese. So good. The sweet potato fries needed a touch of salt and were cooked well. Service was good. Prices were reasonable. We definitely recommend Elliott's!

Sat at the bar. Bartender was friendly and prompt with service (Ricky). Good variety of craft beers and a great selection of bourbons. Chips and salsa (salsa was awesome), make your own pizza was very good and the street tacos had a good build of flavors with a lot of depth. Again, service was top notch.

My favorite restaurant in downtown newark! The service is always good here. My favorite thing to get is the meatball sub with sweet potato fries. The sweet potato fries come with a yummy brown sugar type sauce to dip it in. SO GOOD. Their meatballs are amazing. You can't go wrong with a pizza. They put a lot of toppings on the pizza and they are wood fired. So yummy! The Cobb salad is good. I also have enjoyed all of the different tacos they have.

Most pathetic pizza I ever received. Wish i would've taken a pic of it. It looked like pillsbury dough rolled out, extremely thin, burnt with a slice of tomato on it. Literally no sauce, cheese or flavor AT ALL! Yuck! Don't waste your time with the pizza as that's all I can contest to.

Had the pleasure of our first visit to Elliot's on a Tuesday evening. Traveled from Picktown to deliver my car to dealer for repair! There was a slight wait for a table but not bad. Staff was very young but super friendly. There is a bar with many seats but all we're filled. Upon being seated we were beyond being cared for! The draft beer on tap was on video screen and easily seen. My only suggestion for this being a lover of craft beer, leave the Bud, Stella Artoir, and others off, serve it in bottles and pack the list with IPA! The food is excellent! We went with Bruschetta and Mediterranean Pizza! Wood fired adds a great flavor! Wait staff excellent! We were asked at least 8 times if we were ok!! Staff is young but cared about what they were there for! Salute to all! We'll be back!

Absolutely LOVE Elliot's! Pizza is terrific along with their pretzels sticks. Highly recommend! Their pours on whiskey are also good.

This pizza. Oh my gosh. I've never been here in all 17 years of my life, and my man's treated me to this. This pizza is the best pizza I have ever made love to. The way the cheese melts softly on your tongue. The way the pepperoni is not too crisp but just crispy enough. The way the sauce is blended gracefully through the whole thing. My mom can barely take it. It's glory. In one bite. Amazing.

Went to Elliot's for an impromptu lunch. It wasn't very busy, so we were able to walk right in and get a table. We started with the goat cheese appetizer, this is creamy goat cheese in a pool of marinara sauce, placed into the wood fired oven, and served with warm flatbread basted in garlic butter. Amazing! Great combination of flavors and textures. I had a Buffalo chicken sandwich which was good, with the exception that the chicken was a little tough. My girlfriend had the Philly cheesesteak and it was delicious! I will return to this establishment as I look forward to trying the wood fired pizza!

I ordered their Mama Dre pizza. It was above average. My wife ordered their cherry walnut salad. She enjoyed it. This place is worth checking out, but probably won't go again. Atmosphere is good.

Our favorite place for pizza! Fun, cozy spot to eat. We enjoy watching our pizzas being made to order and baked in the unique oven. The service is good and the waitstaff friendly!
