Elounda Beach Hotel & Villas (Crete, Greek Islands) 1 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"From a travel perspective, Greece has been done. But the best ideas never go out of style, and there are a few places left that are mercifully free from garish overdevelopment and noisy crowds — Elounda Beach, on the northeast coast of the island of Crete, being one of these places. With more than two hundred and fifty rooms, this is not a small resort, by any means; what it is is delightfully secluded, and eminently tasteful, the terraced villas strewn low along the coast, the property insulated from the outside world by acres of lush gardens. Guest rooms are stylish and up-to-date — rooms in the main building come with satellite television, stereo systems and private balconies, the better ones looking out over Mirabello Bay. Bungalows add more space, private terraces or gardens, and Jacuzzi bathtubs, and the Platinum Club suites are almost too much, with full kitchens, private pools, and personal services like drivers, chefs or trainers. No fewer than five restaurants are at hand to keep the palate sated, and the list of leisure facilities is almost encyclopedic; all manner of water sports are on offer, from scuba diving to yacht cruises, and there’s no end to land-loving activities, including tennis, miniature golf and a well-equipped fitness center. And of course idleness is still in style here — a first-class spa facility offers an endless array of health and beauty treatments." - Tablet Hotels

We love our trips to elounda beach ! ||There are noticeably more staff here this year with a mixture of new and the familiar faces that we love. Leah always makes us feel welcome and Emoira is such a friendly face every morning ! ||Our favourite spot is the beach. Quiet and relaxing with the most crystal clear water. The staff here are also great with the AMAZING Georgia and Irini looking after us so well and ensuring every need was met. Super friendly and always with a smile. As there was a large amount of new staff I do feel like some have been added without enough training. Although very nice, every order that was taken with the young girl with red hair was unfortunately incorrect. The drinks at the hotel are not cheap so this does not fill you with much confidence that your tab is being looked after properly. Overall however the beach bar serves great drinks and delicious food. ||The food in the Italian restaurant is amazing and is not to be missed! The truffle and sausage pasta was the highlight of my trip! ||We will be back.

We did not enjoy our stay at Elounda Beach. While the view from the hotel is undeniably beautiful, the hotel itself is old and in serious need of renovation. Our first bungalow (no. 82) had a cockroach infestation. The hotel’s initial reaction was simply to send someone to spray the room. Only after we insisted did they move us to another bungalow (no. 80), which, while free of cockroaches, had a serious ant problem in the bathroom and was equally decrepit. For a supposed 5-star property, the facilities and service were far below expectations. There was no compensation offered—just a brief apology—and staff didn’t seem surprised by the cockroach issue, which was worrying. On top of that, the facilities are just old everywhere. The double bed consists in 2 single beds next to each other. The AC unit must be from the 1980s and circulated mold everywhere in the room. Breakfast was just OK with slow service. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this hotel. It does not live up to the standards one would expect from a luxury property, especially given the price they billed.

After a long coaching transfer from the airport, we were really looking forward to relaxing week and had high expectations of this hotel. One of the first 5* luxury resorts in Greece, it certainly lived up to our expectations and did not disappoint in any way.|Greeted by staff at the steps of the coach, luggage taken care of and we were gently ushered in to the cool reception area for a welcome glass of Prosecco and the news of a free upgrade to a deluxe SV spa room!|Breakfast is a feast for the eyes and the stomach with a huge choice to suit even the fussiest person. Set in a tranquil area overlooking the pool and beautiful gardens, we looked forward to this every day.|On arrival at the beach, we were greeted by a super efficient and friendly team who helped us choose our comfortable, padded sun loungers which are then numbered with your room and are yours for the duration of your stay (we loved this little detail)! A buzzer on the umbrella allowed you to order food and drinks from the fantastic beach team as you wish. Download the Elounda Beach app for all the information you require about the menus etc. |Dinner in the restaurants is on the pricey side but to be expected in this class of hotel.| We ate twice at the Kafenion and once at Argonaut (Italian) and food was great at both.|A special mention must go to some of the incredible staff who made our stay even more special as they welcomed us like family. Georgia who we met on our first day is a huge asset to this hotel - always smiling and super efficient. Whether at the pool bar, the beach or at Veghera serving pre-dinner drinks she always had a smile on her face and we loved chatting with her. Also deserving of a mention are Anna and Marios at the beach who are both really friendly, always smiling and were more than happy to listen to me attempt some Greek! We also loved Apostolis (?) quirky humour at breakfast when he served us coffee and at the evenings at the Kafenion.|Every member of staff we came into contact with made us feel so special and this is one of the reasons why we shall definitely be returning next September. Efharisto poli.

Just returned from a week at Elounda Beach, and from arrival to departure the staff at the hotel can not do enough for you. Our room, in the spa building had a lovely view over the bay, was always spotless and the evening turn down service was a lovely extra. We used the private beach a few times and the beach staff were very attentive always there to set up your beds and umbrella. When you first arrive at the beach you are allocated sunbeds for the duration of your stay which is a nice touch and removes the daily chore of trying to find a bed each day. Also can't fault the beach bar staff, although the price of food and drinks at the hotel is expensive, but that is to be expected. ||Special mention has to go to the lady that works at the piano bar, we had a latte there before we departed and it was superb, and the little chocolates were devine. Definitely worth a visit. ||On our first day we hired a car from a wonderful lady at Green Motion, located at the hotel and cannot recommend her enough. If you are thinking of renting a car definitely go see her. The car was perfect for getting us out and about and her knowledge and advice about the car and also about the local area was superb. She couldn't do enough for you and we would definitely use her again. ||Would we stay at Elounda Beach again, yes.

We stayed in a villa and from the moment we arrived we felt at home. Though an older establishment love and attention has been put into the villas and they are clean and comfortable. Our entire family agreed we were treated so well by the incredible staff. From being checking in on during our stay, to the general manager coming to introduce himself at dinner, to the cleaning and in room dining staff taking the time to talk with our family we felt so appreciated! The people of this hotel take pride in their jobs and in their island and are so happy to have you there. The private patio pool was an excellent way to cool down on a hot afternoon and we were just steps from our private beach. The grounds are beautiful and perfect for evening strolls. We will most definitely be back!

I have just got back from a holiday to Elounda with my family. We all absolutely loved it. The hotel is beautiful and peaceful; the restaurants are excellent; and the spa treatments high quality, but what made it really special was the wonderful staff and the hotel's incredible private beach. We will definitely come again and would definitely recommend. Thanks to everyone at Elounda for such an incredible holiday.
