"Mercifully free from garish overdevelopment and noisy crowds, Elounda Beach, on the northeast coast of the island of Crete, is delightfully secluded and eminently tasteful." - Mitchell Friedman

This hotel was beyond our expectations! From arrival to departure we were treated exceptionally well by very cheerful staff, nothing was ever too much trouble. Everything was extremely well organised including a fantastic breakfast, beautifully kept beach and a great spa. This hotel is ideal for all age groups and we would recommend to all. It a certain that we will be returning! Exceptional hotel.

This was our first time at Elounda Beach and couldn’t have been better.|We stayed in a classic bungalow with a lovely sea view . The room was comfortable, maybe a bit tired in places. The shower wasn’t great but the jacuzzi bath was good and fruit and wine was a nice touch. Also lovely and clean.|We had a nice welcome from Kostas , and he and the reception staff were very friendly and helpful . Also Laura from guest services was fabulous.|The food was delicious in all of the restaurants especially the Italian and Japanese The only disappointing meal was the Greek one.chewy pork and cold chips . Not really up to standard.|The breakfast was great. Plenty of choice. Staff excellent. Loved Panagiotis and Georgios . |Pool and beach lovely. Excellent pool boys and staff on beach. Nice to have sun beds and umbrella without fighting for them.|My husband had to visit the doctor twice as he had a bad back . She was excellent and really helpful. All the staff were really kind .|We had great use of the buggies ,as he couldn’t walk far ! |I would like to thank Lina at guest communications, as she was also great help with our needs. We loved it so much we have booked again next year!

The hotel is in a wonderful location. Great, grounds, beach and pool facilities. Breakfast and dinner with the half board package had lots of options. Buying drinks is a bit pricey as a word of caution.||To note the staff here work very hard across the day and night - one member of the the team stood out to us during our stay, which has made our visit super special due to the attentive and genuine care from the hotel operations supervisor Lina Gkouna. Lina provided a crash course in useful Greek language, has remembered our names and made us feel very welcome - this is also apparent with other hotel guests too.||To note there was a private event being held at the sister hotel Elounda Palace, this was very loud the first day and ran into the early morning. The staff were apologetic and provided alternative places to swim whilst this event was running.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It's a lovely setting and the accommodation though dated in places remains quality. The outlook is wonderful with stunning sea views. We stayed in an island bungalow, it was super comfortable and the cleaners did an excellent job looking after us.|The food was wonderful in all of the Al la carte restaurants.|Service across the board was very good. Reception staff are efficient, accommodating and knowledgeable about their job. |My only negative comment is a couple of staff in the Argonaut (the Italian restaurant) seemed to be frosty following a silly comment made by my partner. I emphasise silly not offensive, banter! On the next 3 visits there whatever we ordered had 'run out' and alternatives had to be chosen. More importantly one waitress in particular looked horrified when waiting our table. In turn I felt uncomfortable which was disappointing, hence my giving the hotel 4 stars and not 5.|That experience aside, I cannot emphasise enough that 99.9% of the staff are exemplary and understand their role.||

Our thanks once again to the many staff at Elounda Beach Hotel who work so hard to provide a wonderful holiday experience. |As returning guests of many years we feel at home from the moment we arrive and are welcomed by the lovely guest experience team, it was a pleasure to be welcomed by the smiling face of Laura and several others of the team.|Demetri the excellent food and beverage manager works so hard to maintain a very high standard of quality and service. All the leaders and dedicated team members at Blu Lagoon,Argonaut and Kafenion deserve a special mention, there are too many to name individually but they all provide an exceptional level of service as do Marianna and Eleni whose friendly and efficient service at breakfast ensure that the day gets off to a good start.|Our needs are anticipated and our favourite choices remembered by many of the staff especially Giannis at Kafenion, such thoughtfulness is much appreciated.|We should also mention the beach staff who look after us so well and the staff at Veghera bar. |We look forward to returning next year and meanwhile wish the team a good winter

Don’t stay here, you’ll regret it. Very poorly run hotel. A few good points but they’re far out weighed by the price paid and the expectations of a world leading hotel. A tag that should be swiftly removed as it’s a false claim. Never a 5* hotel, maybe 2* at best. Rooms very dated, not been touched since the 70’s. A few good staff, most of the others are pretenders and false. Uncomfortable beds, rooms not cleaned properly. Overpriced drinks and food, restaurants are ok. Definitely go into the towns and save a fortune and get better service. Breakfast is chaos, beware they only reserve tables for their favourite guests. You’ll be lucky to get a spoon with your tea and coffee. Rooms dated and fridges etc broken. They’ll also happily give your airport transfer to another guest with a similar name and not bother to help or apologise. All in all, one to avoid, a shame because it could be as special as it claims if it was run better. The owners should look to change management immediately, clueless. They’ll also happily let conferences take over and push paying guests aside.

The hotel and location are amazing. In general there are no complains and we are very satisfied BUT ...|we do have one serious complain about the hygiene of the shower in the bathroom.|On the floor in the shower, there is a wooden panel, which is never taken out to be cleaned. This results in fungus, pubic hair, dirty soap rest, etc... |No need to explain.. the smell in the shower is awefull!|In surplus the fungus may be dangerous to our health if we inhale it. |We don't understand why the hotel put a wooden panel in such a beautiful white marble shower. The staff removed the panel when we complained, but we sincerely hope the management takes the decision to remove the wood in all rooms forever. |Let the beautiful white marble shine1

We have just returned from our latest stay at Elounda Beach Hotel and Villas. The whole experience continues to be 5*. Everything about the resort is perfect and we will certainly be returning in the future. Our excellent accommodation was well maintained by Housekeeping on a twice daily basis, the extensive grounds are beautifully maintained, the private beach and pool with their loungers are impressive, the restaurants and bars are a delight but above all every single member of staff throughout the site is helpful, friendly, professional and a great credit to the to the Hotel. As in the past, we stayed in a villa overlooking the beach and the sea, near to the main hotel building, and on a half board basis, which represents great value for money against menu individual prices - a perfect combination for us which ensures seamless enjoyment of all the facilities. As regular visitors we used the Guest Loyalty arrangements for our booking – and enjoyed the benefits that brings - and a big thank you goes to Lia Prentza, the Guest Loyalty Manager and her colleague Vassia for ensuring our stay was perfect. The same has to be said about the Reception staff who are only too happy to offer help and advice including making restaurant bookings – and always with a smile on their faces. As with any quality hotel or resort, you would expect to make bookings in advance for the restaurants and that is easily achieved through Reception. We visited each of the four restaurants on more than one occasion during our stay and found them to have great menus, lovely staff and excellent food. Yes, you do have to pay for all drinks, but these do not have to be ridiculously expensive, and you can always take advice from the charming sommelier who is on hand, about choices as far as wine is concerned . The extensive, high quality breakfast buffet arrangements are equally good. The hotel was very busy during our stay and thus lots of visitors were in the breakfast area each morning, but by simply waiting to be seated by the staff, we had no problems in being shown to a table without delay and enjoying the delightful food. So, all in all, a very good stay in an excellent 5* resort and we will return in 2025
