Elva Hotell

An exceptional hotel; beautifully designed, a contemporary masterpiece by the banks of the river in a very peaceful location. Rooms are stylish, spacious and have king-sized beds and lovely large, warm bathrooms. We ate the set 3 course dinner which could not be faulted; lamb shank empanadas with goats cheese mousse to begin, followed by venison cooked to perfection and a delicious warm apple pie with brown butter, vanilla chantilly and peach sorbet. Beautifully presented and even better tasting; well worth the price paid. Service by Clara was impeccable. We will definitely be back.

My girlfriend and I spent one day and night in this gorgeous, thoughtfully designed hotel. Having just come from a much more 'rustic' (old, tired, ugly!) location in the fjords, the transition was stark and entirely welcome. Everything in this modern building celebrates the beautiful river view, with many rooms (including ours) designed in such a way to enable guests to drink it in & revel in it. ||The rooms and bathrooms are immaculate and minimally furnished but very well detailed. Our bed was generously sized and very comfortable. Alongside the fixed furniture, each room and all general areas are peppered with beautiful and elegant furniture icons of Norwegian design, which add to the overall sense that this hotel is very much design-led in its approach. The room rate felt entirely fair for the quality we enjoyed so it represented good value in our opinion.||The restaurant was excellent, and we enjoyed a first-class evening meal (3 course set) with wine pairing, followed by one of the best breakfasts of our whole two-week holiday. The staff were helpful, knowledgeable and accommodating and made us feel very welcome. ||We loved the whole vibe of the place and were sorry to leave, vowing to return. |Bravo Elva!!||PS We didn't have a chance to try the activity centre next door, which looked professionally run and offered a variety of activities to choose from.

We had a wonderful stay at Elva Hotel. Everything was spotlessly clean and well maintained. We especially enjoyed the jacuzzi and sauna, and the option to rent a boat was a fantastic bonus. The parking lot with electric chargers was also very convenient. The only minor downside was the limited selection at breakfast, but overall it was an excellent experience and we would gladly return.

Our stay at Elva was truly unforgettable! The view from our room was absolutely stunning — we couldn’t get enough of it. The staff were incredibly friendly and supportive throughout our stay, making us feel very welcome. The sauna was top-notch — such a relaxing experience! We also really enjoyed the jacuzzi and the easy access to the lake, which made the whole stay feel like a perfect getaway. Thank you so much for the wonderful hospitality!!!

Rooms are OK with a great view. Very quiet place. Breakfast is OK. I strongly advise to book before you show up! For me it was an emergency stay - due to the heavy rain - and I felt overcharged - as I had to pay 50% more than anticipated 😕. You also need to advise way before (4pm) if you wish to dine there - otherwise - Vosswangen is your alternative.

Based right on the fjord it has amazing views and relaxed atmosphere!!! We stayed during winter and did the sauna and jumped into the freezing fjord WOW amazing place.

I spent four nights at the hotel, and they were among the most enjoyable nights with the amazing view from my room. The scenery was truly breathtaking. However, there were no breakfast options available, which was a bit disappointing. I also loved the creative idea of the water tap at the reception — such a thoughtful and unique touch

Stayed for two nights. Service was very basic - more like a bed & breakfast. Staff not available after 10pm, room temperature for main building rooms centrally regulated and cold at night, occasionally slight smell of fertilizer outside and in cafe. Poor food options - only offered set menu at dinner (needs 25h booking in advance, they didn’t tell us at check-in), no room service, limited breakfast buffet without even cappuccino (waitress explained “the bar only opens at noon”). Place seems very understaffed - we never saw anyone at reception, you have to ring a bell and then (most of the time) someone will come. Our room was small and simple but modern with nice view. Still felt overpriced considering service quality.
