This place is absolutely delicious! I love coming here and getting the meat tacos and meat quesadilla, combination taco and a meat nacho is good too! The meat is brisket as well so that makes it super good! Come check this tiny little old Odessa staple out!!!

09/28/21 Tried this place for the first time with my husband and we will definitely be coming back. By other google recommendations I tried the meat taco and meat quesadilla. My husband tried the chicken burrito and combo burrito. Every thing was good but we would recommend the meat quesadilla and chicken burrito. I’m looking forward to going back to try the asado burrito and meat burrito.

No nonsense old-school tacos. Not many options and no sides, but the tacos were good.

Well over the years the prices keep getting higher and burritos get smaller! Sad, because they really are good tasting but not near the value of the past!

Been there over 50 years in same building. I think I ate there when it opened. Food is good. I always have a nacho which is a single tortilla with cheese and jalapeño. A taco and a beef burrito. All is good. Atmosphere is authentic for a 50 year old building.

You can not get better tacos. The food is excellent and the service top notch. I go every chance I have

It's been a long time since I've been there but in the past I went quite often and the food was always wonderful. Never had an issue with anything. Good place.

They are hard working people with nice family values from what I can tell, and their food is actually delicious, easily competing with any other good Mexican food around. I really don't have anything negative to say, I even like their salsa :)

I've been eating at this Taco Casa since 1970 when I was going to Aladdin Beauty School when it was Down on Texas Street. Best Tacos I ever ate. I've moved to New Mexico now a friend of mine is in Odessa today . I asked her to stop by there and pic me up 3 of the beef Tacos and bring them to me in Jal New Mexico. I'm 75 and I still love those Tacos. They are delicious. I give them 10 Stars . They are Super Good . Thanks to Elva and her Gang.

This is fast food but it is certainly many steps above the food at fast food chains. First of all I love to support the local entrepreneur but also the quality was leaps & bounds above them. We ordered bean burritos and tacos (1 "meat" it was beef and 1 chicken) everything was quite good. The taco's did fall apart toward the end but we continued with a fork. The tortillas used for the burritos tasted homemade and yummy. The green and the red salsas were both delicious (although I preferred the green). My only fault was the lack of a public restroom. It does not seem right for a restaurant and was an issue for me. That said I think most of their business is take out. The chile relleno looked really good and we will try that on our next visit.

Omg!!! I just love this place! Asado burrito is a MUST! No worries they accept debit cards so you can get one of each!

BEST MEXICAN EVER. SIMPLE. DELICIOUS My dad went here when he was in middle school. As I grew up, and got to go too. We moved out of state but anytime we'd visit my grandparents we made sure to go to Elva's Taco Casa. Traveling 1400 miles, it's well worth the trip. Inside there's not much-four tables, delicious homemade salsas in the center, and in the back are three generations making awesome food. I remember vividly last time I was there watching the grandmother shred the meat super super fast. Oh man. yumm I've never found anywhere as good as taco casa, and crave it all the time.

Taco Casa is one of Odessa's best kept secrets. I have eaten here for 30 years and it's absolutely one of the places I take friends and colleagues from out of town when they come to Odessa. The beef they put in their burritos, tacos and nachos is pulled roast. Their beef burritos (I like to add cheese) and their awesome homemade hot sauce are the best beef burritos I've ever eaten anywhere. It seems expensive for what you get, but two beef burritos fill me up as much as any other other restaurant. The eating area is tiny with just 6 tables, no drive thru available and three generations of ladies are packed like sardines in their kitchen preparing some of the best Mexican food anywhere. They have limited hours that change from season to season, but this is a place everyone should try at least once before they die. :)

Tastiest burritos in town. I love their asado, it tastes super home made. Dont sleep on the chicken quesadillas.

This is great for what it is. The very tiny very old 20 seat dining room. But you probably want to carry out. My first trip here and I had the asada burrito and bean and cheese nacho. These nachos aren't your big ass plate of Chili's slop. It is just one tostada with beans and cheese and their homemade salsa that you put on yourself. Very cheap. Very tasty. Very local. I highly recommend it. Bring cash because you're probably going to want to order something else and they only take charge cards over $5.

I do not understand the great reviews. I came here because of their reviews but i now feel the reviews came from them and not customers. Reading their posted review i told myself i had to try this place out. I drove up to the address and i did not judge the the looks. I went in and they did not serve breakfast tacos was a flag when i saw their little menu did not have such but i saw the homemade big flour tortillas. I ordered with questionable thoughts after the negative vibes i started getting. Then the killer came, big ass tortilla and little filling of what i ordered. It looked like a taquito not a taco and not even close of a possible burito looking tortillas. Drive away because you will remember my posting if you do go. Drive away my friends. .........

Ordered the chicken tacos. Came with stewed chicken lettuce tomato I added cheese. Tortillas were not from scratch and were a bit tough. Chicken was tender juicy but lacked flavor. No spice, no onions or peppers that I could see or taste and no cumin or lime. Seemed rather mediocre at best. They don't have sour cream but do make their own sauces of which I did not try. Not impressed and the place was very small and a bit dirty. Menu is very very limited.

I was passing through on I-20. 1st off its about 3 miles or so from the freeway. The reviews were pretty solid so I had my expectations up. All I can say is it was alright. So-so. Tasted decent. Very simple. (Litterally a piece of pita with meat in it cooked for a little bit) the place might seem cheap but if you want a meal to fill you up expect to spend about $10. I spend $9 w change and honestly I'm not completely full. Which can be good or bad. But anyway. It's alright

This place is really simple, cheap, and delicious. The nachos are more like a chalupa and very tasty. Love the meat burritos made with shredded beef and the green hot sauce is great. Limited seating and cash only but a great place for a late lunch!

Best Mexican fast food anywhere! Affordable and delicious! It is a small place - 6 tables - maybe....easy to overlook, but well worth finding. Please try the meat tacos. Please!

I've been going to this hole in the wall place with only five tables since 1987. I love Mexican food and have eaten Mexican food all over the southwest and across northern and central Mexico. Elva's is still one of my top five. Total "hole in the wall" type of place with a small menu but soooo good. My favorite is: two (or three when I'm really hungry) meat burritos with cheese and a cheese nacho (no "s" like most places that serve "nachos") and a "boat" of that fantastic red salsa. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. It's not fancy, or stylish, but it's homecooked great Mexican food!

This has to be one of my favorite authentic mexican food restaurants to eat at in Odessa. The food is fantastic and made fresh everyday. The building is old and run down and there's not much seating but it's just one small price to pay to enjoy delicious authentic Mexican food

Historically great food! Delicious tortillas, tender and tasty meats, flavorful sauces, friendly staff, reasonable prices, and a classic 'back in time' small dining room. We love the food here.

This place is the BEST. If it were to ever close, I would sob legitimate tears over the loss! Their meat and salsa are the best you will ever have. I dream about eating here. I hope they stay around for many many years to come, and DON'T CHANGE A THING!!

I have been eating there since I was a teen. The food is delicious. Not a large menu but that's probably why the food remains high quality for so long! The beef tacos and bean nacho are my favorite! The chile relleno burrito is good too.

Your Mexican food is really great. The food is not the issue. You need to fix your building. Do ceiling tiles or repainting the building cost that much these days? I know inflation has changed some things, but at least spend a 20 note on re-painting the sign. How are you passing your Health Inspection?

The nachos are so good. They're like what you'd get at Joe T's in Ft Worth. Super small building that gets a little crowded at lunch time. Definitely a must-try for anyone that has the time. Hopefully they stay open forever!

I could eat here every day and never get tired of it. I always get a combination burrito with cheese, a cheese nacho and a cheese quesadilla (not on the menu but they will make one for you! ) I am a tortilla snob and these homemade tortillas are the best - both the corn and the flour. Like an earlier poster stated, I would cry real tears if this place ever closed.
