We came on a Wednesday right at opening and the place was filling up. By the time we had ordered and sat down, almost all the seats were taken and still new people were lining up. We got the cappuccino, salami sandwich and the asparagus Danish. They bring the food directly to you which is nice. The cappuccino was well made. The Latte art was perfectly done and didn't break until the end. The salami sandwich was nice and hot. A bit on the saltier side and I wished there was more veggies in it but other than that it was good. The asparagus Danish had a lot of asparagus in it. The lemon olive oil sauce helped balance out the creaminess of the cream cheese. Overall great place for coffee and treats if you can find a spot.

Google
In short, this spot serves some of the best coffee I've ever had in Prague. Their pastries are delicious too. The only minus is the small, not-so-comfortable tables. Staff is okay. Highly recommend to try their espresso tonic – it's simply amazing❤️

We were in love with this place. Coffees and pastries were excellent. The staff were very kind and friendly. Thank you very much for enabling us to have a good start of the day.

Relatively small cafe with a variety of espresso-based drinks and several tables. I got a cortado and the latte-art on it looked amazing! The foam was thick but surprisingly light in flavor (i.e. it wasn't bitter). The espresso itself was better than average, though I can't say it was the best I've ever had. The cafe itself was definitely packed even on a Tuesday afternoon and noise levels reflected that -- good to chat, not good for working or reading.

Came here on a Sunday with a recommendation of locals and I fell in love with the Flat White! . The spot is also pretty comfy and of course seats on the streets as well to enjoy a sunny day in the business center . Keep up the good work

Google
Super fun espresso bar. Not a ton of seating but some of the best coffee you’ll find in Prague! There are also a ton of locations all throughout the city. Try the Cappuccino 😋

Wow! Fantastic cafe all round. The food is excellent, the breakfast sandwiches are packed with flavor. The flat white was incredible. Great vibes and crowd!

It is not my first time trying this place, and it is as good as I remembered! It's a great place with very delicious coffee and tasty pastries.

Yelp
A clean, chic, Scandinavian aesthetic awaits you inside EMA. I was staying at the nearby Marriott and it was just two blocks away. Exactly the kind of morning vacation vibe that sets the tone for a lowkey day. My latte had a long finish and delicious oat milk. My cashier, obviously accustomed to English-language speakers, automatically clarified the drink menu when I asked originally for a latte macchiato. I've seen "macchiatos" be large milk drinks at other Eastern European shops, so I was grateful for the clarification.

Yelp
Coffee here was fantastic and their pastries and sandwiches were great as well. Definitely expect a line if you are coming here during the morning commute rush as a lot of people seems to be picking up an order on their way to work. Seating is somewhat limited inside but you can definitely find a spot if you just wait a bit. The window seats are great for people watching (or for them watching you).

Yelp
Solid coffee bar with some snacks. They have plenty of pastries in the morning and a good variety as well. You can get different types of coffee drinks and they are good quality with an espresso machine based. Overall, I'd come back for more coffee.

Yelp
It's a pity Yelp doesn't have a 10-star option because our visit this morning (Oct 22, 2021) definitely was that! My husband is a coffee aficionado and our extensive travel means having visited a very long list of coffee houses around the world. This probably kicked down quite a few others to land in the top 3! It's a bright and airy space with delicious pastries (didn't try the bread but that looked amazing too) and cute and friendly staff. Choices are the expected espresso drinks, hand brew (pourover), and batch brew (drip) with both single origin beans and a few blends. So far sounds like any other specialty coffee house, right? What made a huge difference in our experience was the obvious love for coffee shown by the staff and how excited they are to share that love! So generally my husband's preference is for pourover with natural beans but EMA was doing their one natural beans on espresso today. The pourover and drip were both washed beans. I got an Americano with the natural beans and hubby ordered a pourover with the Ethiopian washed beans. First they served the Americano with the espresso shot and a small cup of hot water so you can try the espresso by itself, very smart! Then as the barista was making the pourover, she gave us a cup of the drip coffee to try as well (it tasted like strong black tea to me which was great because I'm the tea lover in the family). She mentioned the Ethiopian was a new arrival and she hadn't tried it yet, so she was making extra for her and also tested it on the refractometer. Later, they tried the same beans on a coarser grind (still pourover) and shared a cup with us too. I absolutely loved v1 with the finer grind (the lychee flavor was amazing but subtle) and despite some minor language barriers, we chatted about the flavors and the roaster with her (a Norwegian company - Coffea Circulor - so a first for me!). Honestly had the best time! Photos for proof!

Yelp
A really pleasant coffee bar that is very famous among all those who work in the area. Be prepared that in case you decide to have a coffee before work, you gonna have to stay in the line for quite some time to get it - but it's gonna be worth it! Their cakes are also great so make sure you try them as well!
google avatar

Yelp
I was in here this morning and had a nice experience. I like that the menu is posted in large letters on the wall and is easy to read immediately as you walk into the shop. The person taking my order and the barista were very friendly. For only 100 Kc (less than $4) I had an excellent cappuccino and slice of apple torte.
google avatar

Canny F.

Yelp
Supposedly the best coffee around. Came here to meet up with couchsurfers and we enjoyed our coffee and tea while sharing great conversations. There are plenty of snack options besides the limited beverage menu. The seating is limited but if you happen to snag a seat and table, you are in luck! Unfortunately, they do not provide wifi.

Yelp
The Linzer cookies are where it's at! I am still thinking of/missing them. The coffee is great too. The place is super packed in the morning, but worth the wait.
google avatar

Bia S.

Yelp
The coffee was good, you could tell they really care about making coffee and I even took a bag home to my family. The food selection was really small and I didn't like the pastries we ordered at all. It was also really difficult to find seating, as well ended up sitting on a wooden slab by the stairs. It's great for foreigners since they can speak really good English (as my Czech is quite limited to hello's and thank you's) so stop by if you're uncomfortable about going to non-English speaking coffee shops.

Yelp
Amazing cappuccino, tasty sandwich, and good company. Really liked this place and will probably return during my visit to Prague. I want to try a plain coffee because I may buy some of their beans.

Yelp
This was awesome. The hype is real. Having read about how good and legit this place was, I realized I had to try it out. It's very conveniently located right next to the Namesti Republiky metro stop so it's very easy to access. When you first walk in, the first time that hits you is how nice the design of the place is. It's very open and clean--definitely reminded me of a San Francisco coffee shop. Prices are reasonable--I paid about 60kc for a latte, and it's a real latte. Not a cappuccino which is what every other Czech restaurant seems to think a latte is. But a real high quality latte. I will say that mine had a bit of an odd taste to it--not sure if it was the beans or just that cup, but the quality of the latte itself was great so I'm not complaining. Atmosphere in the place is great and definitely somewhere you would go to meet up with a friend and hang out. They seem to also have won some awards for their ice cream which is exciting. I'll definitely be back to try out the affogato amongst some of their other drinks. tldr; cool hip place with reasonably priced, high quality coffee. what more could you ask for?
google avatar

Kanika B.

Yelp
For a quick really good cup of coffee go here! Try the flat white. Lovely wooden interiors and even better coffee.
google avatar

Kristýna K.

Yelp
I am definitely a fan of this place! I absolutely adore the interior (altough it could be a little bigger - IMO there is not enough seats) - do not expect anything romantic though :-) It is more like that industrial-minimalistic-open space kind of place. Oh and the coffee is very goodl! The only downside is no A.C. - so get ready to be sweaty in the summer months (I did go in the worst heat once and could not stay very long because it was very hot inside!)
google avatar

Taylor L.

Yelp
I stopped into this coffee bar to try the buchty. It was so fresh and yummy. We also ordered a panini and it was sooo good! Highly recommend. We had coffees and hung out for a while, but there was not a lot of seating. That was the only downside.
google avatar

Colette S.

Yelp
Really good coffee, limited food selection. This is clearly one of those places where they take coffee very seriously, and make it with care. Service was fine, they are clearly used to foreigners that can barely say hello in Czech, but it was relatively quick. We went right when they were due to open one morning and there was a queue to get in! Seating is limited, so if we went again I would get it to go and walk to a nearby park to enjoy.

Yelp
What makes EMA espresso bar stand out amongst other good coffee places in Prague is the clean, simple, and stylish atmosphere. DRINKS -- 9/10 After hearing all the hype about this café, I went to see if it was as good as what everyone said. And it really was. I tried the mocha and the v-drip coffee, which were both excellent in taste and presentation. Water pitchers placed on each table for customers to drink for free was a nice gesture. INTERIOR -- 9/10 I was particularity impressed by the interior design of EMA espresso bar. Resembling the cafés I enjoyed in San Francisco and NYC, the clean white walls and simple wooden furnitures complemented the light bulb pendant lamps very well. SERVICE -- 9/10 The smiling baristas spoke good English and one guy even made decent jokes. No evil glares were given when I was there with a friend studying with our laptops out.
google avatar

Summer D.

Yelp
This place hold true to all the hype. It is always busy and it is always good. They make wonderful espresso and awesome pastries, sometimes the line is out the door and you can't find a seat, but it is definitely worth it whenever you need your coffee. They also have some great sandwiches and a trendy atmosphere to enjoy your coffee and food. Definitely stop by if you're in the neighborhood!
google avatar

Vicki S.

Yelp
This place was recommended by a coffee aficionado so I thought I'd give it a try. It's a two minute walk off the main road tram/bus route so easy to get to. In true barista style the coffee delivered. It was great tasting, smooth and creamy although could have been a little hotter. It's small Cafe and has a friendly hum of people conversing. It's mostly a communal style arrangement where you're sharing tables or benches. They have a small selection of sandwiches and pastries. If you're a coffee lover I'd definitely give it a try.
google avatar

Yuriy K.

Yelp
Very good coffee and cherry pie (koniec). No much food in case you are looking for it
google avatar

Brandon J.

Yelp
Nice service, and a very well made cup of coffee. I could tell by the way the staff was working, that they have great attention to detail and take pride in making a wonderful product. We had a ham and Gruyere panini and a couple of their fruit tarts, which were delicious. The prices were good, the sandwiches and pastries were fantastic and the service was fast and friendly.
google avatar

Shaun F.

Yelp
A very busy place with great coffee, cakes and sandwiches! We'll definitely be back during our stay in Prague.
google avatar

Ronald T.

Yelp
Very good toasts. With spinaz, mushroom etc. And chorizo, ceddar... Perfect taste. Good coffee. Nice ambiance.
google avatar

Aileen G.

Yelp
What a great place to enjoy third generation coffee. No wonder this cafe is always crowded. Coffee is brewed and served with passion and know how. The strong flat white, a little fruity batch brew from an Ethiopian bean and a berry cake made our day. Just make sure to grab a seat on the first occasion. It can get packed pretty fast.
google avatar

Aldwin A.

Yelp
This place lived up to the hype from previous reviews although I don't find it hipster at all as I've lived in Portland, OR and San Francisco, CA. I had the blueberry kolac, the bun with cream cheese filling, and the iced drip coffee (Kenyan). The kolac had a good balance between sweet and tart. I prefer the bun with cream cheese filling since I am partial to anything sweet. The iced drip coffee was a great way to finish my breakfast. My bf had the strawberry kolac and he devoured it within 5 minutes.
google avatar

Billy V.

Yelp
Great coffee (order at the counter). Free water with fresh lime. The only downside is that they don't have free WiFi. The place looks very nice and the staff is friendly.

Yelp
I hate hate leaving negative reviews, but I am kind of in shock at how badly this place's service was for us compared to all the four and five stars I see here. Maybe they were having an off day. Or maybe they just hate Americans. The two stars are literally only for the ambience: very modern, but with a cozy, not sterile feel. Good artwork, architecture and lighting. But that's about the only thing I liked about this place. I am not exaggerating when I say it took a total of 25 minutes and two trips up the counter before we got our whole order (somewhat) correct. And we're talking coffee. They forgot about my husband's aeropress, and when I went up to ask about it and my warm milk, they acted incredibly annoyed. She didn't even answer me at first, so I asked if it just takes awhile. And she just pointed at this girl pressing down on the aeropress thing, and producing a very watery coffee-like substance. I asked my husband if that's how it's supposed to be, and he kindly said, "maybe it's different here? But this isn't the kind of aeropress coffee I've ever seen." Before I left the counter, the guy said rather abruptly, "I'll bring you the milk." Five minutes later, he hadn't brought it. I went up to the counter, and he said "yeah I forgot about the milk." And I said "yeah" - he didn't even say sorry! And then he took the foamy milk from the leftovers of making someone else's latte and put it in a tiny little creamer mug, to which it only filled up halfway. Um, What? It was also very much NOT the best Americano I've ever had. It was extremely bitter and was seriously lukewarm by the time they brought the milk. Sigh. They also had no sugar left in their little cup of sugar over on the side. And we were there for about and hour, and no on came to check it. Cool. On top of all this, they overcharged us! Initially I decided not to say anything because I didn't want to make a fuss and seem like a picky american, but now I wish I had because this - coffee and service. was definitely not worth $7. This is by far the worst service we've had in our entire week in Prague. Maybe guess they only care about your business if you're Czech? :(
google avatar

Michael R.

Yelp
I stop in here on my way to work or leaving work about once or twice a week. Usually when I feel like splurging on some great coffee. I tend to order similar things but the service, speed, and overall environment make this place special. They also have a wide selection of quality teas that I'm yet to try (but am planning on it!). I also order their jalapeño chorizo toast which is extremely good. The price for things is a little high but I'm willing to pay that extra bit for a quality experience. They also speak English and are helpful. Only thing I wish they had was wifi so I could do work in there but it's a nice way to unplug from the Internet for a brief coffee break. If you haven't had it yet and are in the area I definitely suggest popping your head in. Also, the music selection is always on point :)
google avatar

Felipe V.

Yelp
Coffee is good. Rest is a bit overpriced and seating is awkward. Worth a try, though. Good location and decor.
google avatar

Jen S.

Yelp
I am torn on this review. Overall my experience was super positive, and that makes me want to give it 4 stars. On the other hand I was not impressed at all with their espresso. The friendly barista explained to me that their coffee was one shot of espresso instead of two, which explains the extreme milky taste of my latte, however not really having a choice of milk is disappointing for a place like this. Whole milk or soy. So me being lactose intolerant you are screwed. Their desserts looked delicious also, and freshly made drinkable yogurt with fruit for 40 crowns or so was a steal. The atmosphere is very relaxed. No one pushing you out or forcing you to spend more money to hangout there. It is very modern inside and they also have lemon orange water on all the common tables to drink which I thought was a nice touch. Also the staff being super friendly and bi lingual was a big plus to this place.
google avatar

L F.

Yelp
Coffee is good, soy option available. Ask for an extra shot of you're used to North American style artisan espresso drinks, otherwise it will be milky. The best we have found in Prague so far, but don't expect it to be as good as Vancouver/Seattle/Portland. Cool/hipster vibe. Good seating. Good snack options salad/sandwich for vegetarians.
google avatar

Cameron S.

Yelp
loved this coffee shop ambiance. they had great coffee and espresso. i highly recommend if you are a coffee fanatic.
google avatar

Janet C.

Yelp
This coffee place was such an amazing find. We ended up coming back every day while we were in Prague. The coffee was strong but not bitter and was very smooth. It's very conveniently located next to the train station and also by Republic square. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Varia M.

Yelp
Nice coffee, cafe is a bit over-the-top hipster though. My medium americano was the size of a double espresso; it's one of those cafes where it's impossible to figure out where to order and where to pay; and the staff all have this air of 'super-hip' about them. Nothing wrong with it at all, just not a place I would choose to hang out.
google avatar

Blanka N.

Yelp
Ema espresso bar is so far my most favourite place in Prague. I love the stuff - friendly, easy-going, funny and passionate about coffee. The place has awesome vibe and touch of scandinavian espresso bars. It's not a place to sit and read a book all afternoon, but if you want to spend time on a hype vibrant place, then yes! There is a possibility of buying all kind barista stuff like filters, tampers, coffee, cups etc.
google avatar

Abdullah A.

Yelp
Great Coffee, although the place can get quite crowded but the service is quite fast. Flat White and Drip are quite good.

Eri M.

Yelp
Best coffee so far in Prague. Friendly staff. Although it was busy, they kept attentive and kind. Liked the coziness. If they played music, it might be even better.
google avatar

Brock R.

Yelp
Yup. This is what I've been looking for in Prague. A decent coffee shop. Friendly service and good pastries. If I lived in Prague, this would be my spot. Highly recommended.
google avatar

April W.

Yelp
Relaxed but trendy place. Served one of the best flat white I have tried in Europe. Ordered a sandwich and a berry coffee cake as well. The sandwich was simple, but tested fresh. The berry coffee cake was not overly sweet, and went well with my coffee.
google avatar

Alexander K.

Yelp
The best coffee in 1-2km radius. Traditional and fancy air-presses and so on. Free magazines and tasty cakes. Very democratic atmosphere and nice staff.
google avatar

Sean D.

Yelp
I was really surprised to find a place with such nice coffee in Prague honestly. Had nice food like sandwiches and cakes aswell. Good place to while away a bit of the day
google avatar

Alvaro C.

Yelp
Great coffee and nice place. Bad thing is that they dont have wifi which is bad in case you have to work, so I wont come back again.

Jesse L.

Yelp
What a delicious little coffee shop! Great Ambiance. Reminded me of some of the Gourmet craft coffee shops in the US. They seem to really take pride in their work here. Delicious flat white. They also offer some Bakery items which are good as well. If you are American looking for your clean hipster coffee shop business
google avatar

Miroslav P.

Yelp
Crowded, expensive, small. The taste of coffee is good and it would be suitable for take away, but i'd not recommend for sitting.
google avatar

Vendula B.

Yelp
Toto misto miluju! Jedina nevyhoda je, ze nemaji dostatek mista. ~ Love this place. Just one disadvantage - lack of space .
google avatar

H. S.

Yelp
Slightly beats out The Barn in Berlin for the title of best European coffee shop because, though for the most part the same, it's roomier and less pretentious. Best coffee in Prague, some good food/pastry options, very friendly staff. No wifi, unfortunately.

Ken Y.

Yelp
yummy paninis, pastries and coffee. super friendly staff, free ice water. the prices are good
